Tokka Week 2021!

Howdy everyone! Last year in September, I hosted Tokka Week on my main Tumblr, @avatraang. This year, I am hosting again on the newly minted Tokka Week blog! Myself along with my fellow mod, @cats-and-metersticks, are EXTREMELY excited to announce Tokka Week 2021, coming November 1st through November 7th! There will also be a bonus prompt on November 8th. This gives everyone who wants to participate two months of time to decide what they want to do for each prompt!

There are two prompts per day, but you do not have to cover both prompts. They are just given to you so you can have more freedom and room for inspiration! You can combine them however you’d like, or not at all! The prompts below are all the most popular prompts from the poll we sent out. Thanks to everyone who took the poll and helped narrow down the decision making!

The amount of drafts I have in my docs for every single one of my stories. But my ass gets distracted or writers block (or both) as soon as I open the docs app :/

Tokka Fics

I’ll Walk You Home – 464k words, 62 chapters (but abandoned by author). The Alpha and Omega of all Tokka. 5 years in the making from 2010-2015. Warning: Tokka in this fic is NOT aged up. A little smutty.

I’ll Be Seeing You – Ongoing. Updated July 22, 2020. Heart-wrenching.

The Quest is a Metaphor – 38k words, 7 chapters (completed). After a bitter end to his long-term relationship, Sokka finds himself directionless and alone. Luckily, soon after leaving Kyoshi Island he runs into an old friend. Or, in which Sokka finally learns to focus less on the where and more on the going.

Take Me Home Tonight – 9k words, one-shot. Hot and smutty with a little comedy.

Like A Fine Wine – 26k words, 6 chapters. Abandoned by author but this was such a great read even though it was discontinued. Loved the writing style and storyline. It’s soooo good. A must read!

Still Water – 3k words, one-shot. Toph visits the Southern Water Tribe. Some old feelings come to light.

This Isn’t Happening to Me – 57k words, 20 chapters. Completed. I actually haven’t read this but I heard it’s a good read. Dark themes.

Too Late – 1k words, one-shot. Toph’s take on Katara and Aang and Suki and Sokka’s wedding.

One Night in Ba Sing Se – 8k words, one-shot. My absolute favorite. Amazing writing style. Smutty and very emotional. The sequel to this is 11 chapters long. It’s called Two Nights in Republic City. Heart-wrenching and amazing.

Lovely, Bitter Water – Ongoing. Updated April 2020. Twenty years after the war, Toph finds herself on the cusp of a major life change, but she’s not the only one. Sokka and Toph’s relationship has withstood every trial they’ve been dealt so far. Will the same always ring true for two of the truest friends in the world?

This, and This, and This – 5k words, one-shot. This beautifully tells the story of the connection between Sokka and Suyin.

The Morning After – Ongoing. Updated April 2020. The morning after Zuko’s bachelor party, a very hungover Gaang must retrace their steps before their antics from the previous night spark another war.

Not To Us – 10k words, one-shot. This is really, really beautiful. This incorporates everything that happened in LOK, with Su as Sokka’s dad. It shows how Toph hid the truth from Sokka and it’s just so so beautiful. Super worth the read. This feels canon.

Missing in Action – Ongoing. Updated July 25, 2020. Toph herself is nowhere to be found and it’s up to her lieutenant and closest friends to track her down before the entire force is unraveled by the crime kingpin from within.

She Could Rule the World – 2k words, one-shot. Super short and cute.

Unintentional Dating – 16k words, 5 chapters. There is a sequel to this called Three’s Company. 30k words, 12 chapters. Completed.

You, You, You – 5k words, one-shot. Set 6 years after the war.

Broken Families, Missing Fathers – 5k words, one-shot. A headcannon on Lin and Su’s fathers.

The Push and Pull – 69k words, 13 chapters. From the first moment Toph touched her daughter’s face to the last- this story explores how Toph raised Lin, and how she came to be a mother in the first place.

Nothing is Illuminated – 43k words, 14 chapters. Abandoned by author. This takes place during Sozin’s Comet Part 4, as Toph and Sokka struggle to keep their grip on each other.

Love Bites – 7k words, 4 chapters. Abandoned by author.

I’d Lie – 43k words, 13 chapters. Completed. “Care to play a game of 20 questions? One for each day you spend here. By the end of those 20 days, I guarantee you’ll be in love with me.” Fortunately for Toph, some love stories just aren’t meant to happen. This isn’t one of them.

Sokka’s Beard – 33k words, 15 chapters. Abandoned by author. What can I say? It’s about Sokka’s beard.

The Escapades of the Blind Bandit and Meathead – 23k words, 14 chapters. This is a series of one-shots.

Cactus Juice – 48k words, 22 chapters. Another collection of one-shots.

Darkest Before Dawn – 73k words, 13 chapters. I have not read this yet but I’ve heard good things about it.

Just Him and Her – 32k words, 25 chapters. Another series of one-shots.

Su’yin – Ongoing. Updated July 31, 2020. A short story regarding the author’s headcanon about Su'yin’s father.

The Big List of Tokka Recs.

Hi! My name’s Rey, and I am bored. So I decided to make a Big List of Tokka Recs for all you Tokka shippers!! This list will ONLY include fics I found on AO3, because I haven’t been on FF.Net to read fics in YEARS and I’m scared to go back there. I have separated this list into two categories, one of which has two sub categories. The first category is “oneshots”. The second category is “multi chapters”; it’s sub categories are “completed” or “in progress”. I obviously haven’t read every Tokka fic out there; this is just what I’ve read and enjoyed enough to bookmark.

These fics are in no particular order; I made a Rec List, not a Ranking. My only intention is that this helps any Tokka shippers out there, and gives the authors some well deserved love!
