~Summary: When your cousin decides to ruin family bonding time by bringing two friends to your shared beach house, you unexpectedly find a lover in his childhood friend

a/n: SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG. It's finally here!!! Wonwoo just became a background character who almost doesn't appear but yeah.

Also, regarding the boy's ages: Cheol, Mingyu and Wonwoo are the same age (one year younger than reader) and cousins May and Rina are like 4 and 7 years younger than reader, respectively.

When the four of you reached the food trucks, the place was full. You all walked around trying to see what kind of food there was but ended up settling for hamburgers. Rina said she wanted a regular cheeseburger and stepped out of the line to look for an empty table.

You and your cousin May fell into a comfortable conversation, talking about whatever while Mingyu stood behind you two, just listening.

Every once in a while May would sneak glances at Mingyu who attentively listened to you talk. After ordering, May decided to stay with her sister and keep her company, leaving the two of you to wait at the pickup area.

"So... Mingyu, how's life abroad? Making many new friends? Are you living alone?" You bombarded the boy with questions. It's been around three years since you last saw each other and it was a pleasant surprise to see the skinny tall boy coming home all grown up, strong, mature... and really handsome

"It's been pretty good! I live with a roommate, his name is Jeonghan. He taught me a lot haha... My classes are also fine but I'm still trying to get used to using another language whenever I leave the house" He says proudly

"Got a girlfriend?" You thread carefully

But the man smirks

"No, I only got eyes for you"

You roll your eyes smiling. He's flirty now too

"As if" you both giggle together when you get called by the staff of the food truck

After eating Mingyu excuses himself and heads to the toilet. When he's out of earshot, both your cousins turn to you and smirk.

"He's totally crushing you"

"YES. He's totally like a puppy looking at its owner... Maybe you should own him..."

You choke on your drink, almost spitting it

"Girlie are you ok? Are you guys even hearing yourselves? Mingyu's just being nice" You try to recompose yourself

"Ugh blind. He's literally giving you heart eyes, and won't stop looking at you"

"Maybe he looks up to me? Cause I'm older" You try to reason "He's just flirty. Maybe he's like this to all girls"

"He wasn't flirty with us" Rina speaks while gathering the trash

"Maybe because you're six years younger than him?" You speak with a duh tone

"Wow y/n, you're really blind. He's into you, that's why he's flirting... Oh he's back"

If Mingyu notices the sudden silence between the three of you, he doesn't mention it. You all stand up and look for a place to get dessert but the only thing on your mind is what Rina said

What about you? Are you also into him? I mean, he's cute but you never saw him as more than your little cousin's (even if only one year difference) friend. It felt kinda wrong to crush a younger guy when you were a teenager but now... In your twenties... Does it really matter?

Mingyu notices that you're lost in thoughts and every once in a while he links your pinkies in order to bring you back and get you to not lose yourself in the crowd of people

Add caring to the list of green flags in Mingyu.

After that night, things seem to have changed a bit

Mingyu seems to be getting closer to you and also seems to be spending more time with you than with his friend, who actually invited him to the house.

You're cooking. Mingyu is there to help

You're cleaning up the kitchen. Mingyu offers to do the dishes

You're going to the beach earlier. Mingyu is ready to make you company

Mingyu was everywhere you were. Maybe your cousins were right, maybe he's... a tiny bit into you? Let's find out

One afternoon, everyone decided to stay back in the house and just lounge by the pool, but not you. You decided to take a walk on the beach. And of course, so did Mingyu.

You were a bit skeptical regarding his (and your) feelings so you came up with an idea. See if he gets jealous.

"So, Mingyu... Tell me more about that roommate of yours... Jeonghan was his name?"

"Yeah, Jeonghan" Mingyu liked talking about his friend but you seemed too interested in him and it was making him feel weird

"What's he like? Is he older?"

"Yes, he's really nice and caring but he's a menace sometimes. He's a year older than you"

"He's also from Korea?"

"Yeah..."

"Oh is he single?" You asked but this time looking deep into his eyes

Oh, how he could get lost in them. It took a lot of strength to not kiss you right now

"Hm why"

"Oh you know... weighing my options... When Cheol goes to visit you I could tag along and... meet some guys" you said looking at the beautiful sunset. Oh, he was jealous.

"Why not me?" Mingyu didn't miss a beat

"What?"

"Why not me? Go out with me. We're not kids anymore. I'm not a kid anymore" he emphasized stopping in his tracks to fully look at you

You stopped not expecting him to be so forward with his answer and feelings. Turning around he looked... ethereal

His light clothes swayed with the sea breeze and the pinks and oranges of the sunset complimented his tanned skin so well. You know Mingyu was good looking but you didn't realize he was THAT good looking

"I... You're..." You were caught off guard and didn't know how to respond.

Mingyu sighed loudly at your statement, or rather your lack of a response.

"Well, if you didn't like me that way you should just tell me. Please don't lie to make me feel better" he looked uncertain about what he said himself but turned around and walked back to the house.

Why did you say that?

When you returned to the house, the boys had gone to the market to buy more snacks and drinks

You couldn't even say sorry because he wasn't there

After getting in, you went straight to the room you shared with your cousins. They both stood in the living room and exchanged concerned looks since you didn't even spare them a glance.

Why did you say that? You didn't like him? That wasn't true and you knew it. What was it then? Afraid of being lonely? Were you being too sensitive?

Those thoughts made the tears start to flow

"y/n? Are you- oh my god" May immediately got inside after seeing you crying sitting on your bed "What happened?"

"Did something happen with Mingyu? When he came back he seemed upset as well..." Rina added and that made you cry harder

May hugged you and let you cry until you were too tired to do anymore. When you finally calmed down you told them everything, from the night you went to the food trucks to the moment he left you on the beach

Lonely am I being sensitive? You are the sensitive one Where are you tonight? Where's your home tonight?

Mingyu didn't mean it, but he couldn't help but put his walls up

He didn't want to be hurt anymore

When you guys were younger he saw that you looked at him the same way you looked at Seungcheol. Like a little brother, which he didn't really like. He desperately wished time would change the way you saw him and he left it up to fate

He went to uni abroad while you took yours in your home country and now it's his vacation and he's back home. Of course, he knew you met other people and he did as well, but sometimes he wished it was you there, in his arms

And now he knows that you don't want him, and it breaks him.

Of course, it crossed his mind that maybe you both could be together temporarily like some sort of summer love but he didn't think he could handle the aftermath when he left again.

He was upset but what could he do? He couldn't just stay away from you when you were living under the same roof for 2 weeks but he could distance himself a bit. Seeing you would definitely make his heart hurt more.

Mingyu didn't realize that he was being awfully quiet during the market trip, which was very unlike his upbeat puppy personality

"What happened to you?" Even quiet Wonwoo went to check on him

"Nothing"

"yeah sure" Wonwoo shrugged but Cheol turned around to put his hand on Mingyu's chest to stop him

"Are you messing around with my cousin?" Seungcheol asked skeptical

"What? No I-" Mingyu tried to defend himself

"Then what? Explain yourself. We got time" Cheol motioned for them to sit on the small bench at the market's exit. Popping open a can of beer and motioning for both friends to sit as well

"Well..."

"Well, I'm screwed. I guess I do find him endearing but at the moment I couldn't say anything. I do like him a lot but I never considered... dating him. I'm not opposed to the idea tho"

"Just go on a date with him. What could go wrong? Just go for it" May said

"What if things don't work out and we get awkward? I don't want to ruin things for Cheol-" You started to panic again

"Can you stop overthinking for one second? Just do it, the rest is the rest" Rina exclaimed "Gosh, I will charge next time for the therapy session" She smirked when you started giggling. At least you weren't crying anymore

"I guess you're right. Thanks. What would I do without you two" You said hugging them both. "Now let's go, you'll both help me with dinner"

"Oh no..."

You dragged both girls to the kitchen and gave them instructions to prep the tomatoes and arugula to make with pasta. You went to freshen up quickly, getting rid of your crying face and went back to help them and cook the pasta.

When dinner was almost done the boys arrived with more bags than anticipated.

"Sorry we took too long. We got some extra stuff because Mingyu said he was gonna prepare a special meal for us tomorrow" Cheol announced as he set the bags near the counter. The other two did the same and Mingyu started to put the ingredients away.

The girls moved to set up the table, asking Wonwoo to help by taking the heavy stack of plates to the dining area. Cheol gave you a soft smile and moved out of the kitchen as well.

"I'm-"

"I'm sorry I acted that way" Mingyu cut you off "Actually I wanted to talk to you about it" Oh no, he thought "You caught me off guard, I won't lie, but I wanted to give it a try. You and I"

Mingyu stopped what he was doing. Maybe he was imagining things

"We could go on a date tomorrow if you'd like it... I mean, if you're still willing to"

"Yes- I mean. Yeah, I would like that" He said without hesitation

"Oh, great" you have him a shy smile " Can you help me take this pan to the table?"

"Yeah, let's go" he moved to help you smiling brightly. Maybe things were starting to work out

The next day arrived and passed as normal. In the afternoon you all decided to go grab some ice cream and you and Mingyu decided to separate from the rest to go on your date.

"You didn't have to pay you know? I'm the one who has a job and not a part-time" you smirked as he passed you the waffle cone

"I'd be rude if I didn't pay on our first date" he retorted

"Well thank you, what a gentleman" you giggled as he sat opposite you. The ice cream parlor was daily empty, but it was good because it gave you some privacy.

"Mingyu" you started "I wanted to be honest with you. I think you're cute and overall a great person, but I would be lying if I said I ever thought about dating you. I don't see you as a kid anymore, you've grown into someone so admirable... you grew up so well. Your confession wasn't something I was expecting but I guess the idea of us became... surprisingly pleasant" you said looking at him

"Y/n, thank you. For being honest with me. I- I have liked you since we were teens and when you didn't respond I put my walls up. I didn't mean to be rude to you, I guess I was just scared that you would reject me. I shouldn't have acted that way I'm sorry... but I'm happy. I'm happy that you're willing to give us a chance" he smiled. A smile you could definitely get used to.

"Well lover boy, how about that special recipe Cheol said you were going to prepare?" You said and he smirked

"Get really to taste the best dish you've ever had. I'll sweep you off your feet and you'll definitely fall for me this time" he said proudly, taking a bite of his cone and having some ice cream on the corner of his mouth

"I'll be looking forward to it" you said while grabbing a napping and cleaning the corner of his mouth.

He could get used to that

Your days at the beach were ending and your dates with Mingyu were making your relationship become stronger.

"Mingyu what are your plans when we get back to the city?" Tina asked as you all were lying on beach towels under the sunshade.

"I'll go visit my family for a while, my grandma lives on the countryside" he answered and took a peek at the magazine you were reading. Your head rested on his stretched arm and he moved you to basically lay on his chest since his arm was starting to feel numb.

"Before you go back to uni, could you spare me some time?" You asked looking up at him. Even under the sunglasses, he could see your doe eyes

"Anything for you" he smiled

"Ew, don't say those things in front of us" Seungcheol made a face of disgust and gave Mingyu a slight slap. "Anyways, anybody wants to go take a dive? I'm melting"

"Yeah let's go" Wonwoo said standing up, as well as Rina. May also stood up but reached for her purse.

"Should I get us snacks? That tent is selling French fries"

"Oh yes, please get us two portions! The boys eat too much" you responded sitting up as your dousing just nodded and went on her way.

"Before I move back I'll take you on a really nice date. Maybe at your house? I could cook again since you liked it so much" Mingyu smirked as he resumed your previous conversation

"What are you implying Mr. Kim?" You side-eyed him but smiled after "That would be nice, I'm sad you'll have to leave me soon" you pouted

"Don't worry, I'll come back running for my girlfriend. You could also visit me you know..."

"Oh? Am I your girlfriend now? Since when?" You raised your eyebrows at him. It was amusing to poke fun at him, his cute pouting was a sight you loved

"You don't want to be my girlfriend?"

You pecked those pouty lips. You were both being really cliche, but with him, things were beginning to feel right.

a/n: THIS A/N IS LONG I'M SORRY. Congrats to Seungcheol for being voted as cousin material ✨. But seriously hahaha I'm writing both paths for Mingyu And Wonwoo ending. Just did a pool to see who's team you guys are rooting for hahaha

For this one I sort of based the characters on two of my actual cousin's friends, but the one for Wonwoo I truly dislike and had a hard time adjusting our precious Woo to fit in his character. I wish my cousin could bring a true gentlemen to me tho :(

"What do you mean!?!?"

The look of disbelief in your cousin Rina along with yours took her sister May by surprise.

"What do YOU mean? Cheol is taking his friends to our beach house." May said with a shrug

"What a traitor, what about family bonding time?" Rina said crossing her arms.

Sungecheol was the oldest of three siblings. Followed by May and then Rina. You were their older cousin, just one year older than Cheol, but they considered you their older sibling since you grew up together.

"Who did he invite?" The siblings still argued

"Mingyu..." May responded

"I mean, it's no big deal right?"You chimed in sipping your orange juice. This brunch place had the best juice "Mingyu practically grew up with us"

"And Wonwoo"

Well fuck. You couldn't stand that guy

"What a traitor, what about family bonding time?" You quoted the youngest among you

"I swear to god, you two are so difficult..." May said going back to her now cold French toast

You really missed this house. After 2h driving, arriving at your destination has never been so rewarding. Usually, Cheol would drive, but 6 people would not fit his car so you went in an all-girls car trip while he went with his friends.

The main entrance led you to the open living room with a kitchen on the right and the three of you headed upstairs to settle on the room on the left side of the house. The guys would share the room right next to it.

When they arrived, you were putting the groceries away and Cheol went to greet you with a hug

"Look, it's my favorite causing from mom's side"

"I'm your only cousin from Mom's side"

"That's why you're my favorite!"

"Stop teasing her, we won't make any food for you" Mingyu joked and went to greet you with a quick hug

"Hi Gyu, haven't seen you in a while. How's life in America?" You smiled as he helped stock the fridge with the food they brought with them

"It's been fun! I'll tell you more later, let's finish this"

"Hi"

You turned your head to the boy who had just entered the house. Wonwoo smiled awkwardly and waved after closing the door behind him

"Hi" You forced a bit of your smile and went back to organizing

The beach worked wonders on you. The sand underneath your feet, the sound of the waves, the humidity on the wind and the sun kissing your skin.

Through your sunglasses you could see the boys playing like kids in the water, splashing each other, while May sat next to you on a beach chair almost asleep. Rina approached you and offered one of the open coconuts that she had just purchased from a nearby vendor.

"Thanks! This one is so sweet" You exclaimed happily to her

"I know right? So many people were buying there that I had to get us one!"

Your conversation was cut short as the guys approached you. Mingyu saw you sitting on a towel and ran to sit next to you smiling

"Oh my god, you're so cold!" you shrieked and threw the towel inside your bag at him

"Coconut water?" he smiled brightly at you as he dried himself

"What else would it be gyu?" You laughed and offered him your straw. While he took a sip you saw the other two guys approach but ignored them.

"That's so good! I'll get one too" He stood up and threw the towel at Seungcheol. "Wanna grab one Wonwoo?"

"Sure" The quiet male responded

When they came back you all settled and stayed till early afternoon. Mingyu decided to go back earlier to light up the barbecue grill, and since you were kinda tired, you decided to tag along.

"You're going back already?" Cheol looked ah you quizzically

"Yeah" You responded.

"I want my meat rare" Wonwoo smiled as the two guys looked at you

You think I'm your maid? Go do it yourself

That's what you wanted to say but held back. Usually, you'd go back earlier to cook for y'all (It was a shared task, but as the oldest you'd usually initiate things), but this time that was not the case. You side-eyed him and ignored him as you walked back to the house.

This dude was really getting on your nerves. You found him awkward and strange, but worse, you found him lazy. He didn't help with tasks like Mingyu who was always ready to help you. It was like Wonwoo didn't belong in your dynamic like he wasn't supposed to be there. He avoided everyone and would only join if Seungcheol was present.

When you reached the house you calmed down a bit since Mingyu kept you entertained and busy.

"We should totally go check out those food trucks we passed by when we were coming here" May exclaimed after everyone gathered in front of the TV in the living room. One Piece played on the screen but most were not paying attention to the anime.

"Nah sis, we should stay in today. I'm dead from driving and spending the day on the beach" Cheol responded ready to set his attention back to the anime

"I think it'll be fun!" Mingyu chimed in. His closeness with your family allowed him to simply choose whatever, even if his friend who invited him wasn't going to tag along.

"We should go then" Rina got up to get her tiny purse and headed to the door. Mingyu and May followed her.

"You coming Wonwoo?" Mingyu asked the new friend, who simply shook his head and said he'd stay with Seungcheol

"What about you y/n?"

I'm staying guys. Have fun! OR I'm going! Let me just grab my phone.

Just had some shower thoughts and came up with something! Hear me out...

Y/n is an only child and has a really close relationship with her cousins (sees them as siblings basically) and when they go on a trip to the beach, one of her cousins (one of the svt members) brings his two friends, Mingyu and Wonwoo.

Mingyu is his childhood friend which y/n know well and is friends with. While Wonwoo is a new friend that y/n doesn't like due to reasons.

So I'm thinking about writing a story with two endings! Friends to lover with Gyu and enemies to lovers with Woo. Anyone interested???

a/n: My first Seventeen fanfic! This was kind of fun to write since I was inspired by the song of my favorite artist! Deer In The Headlights by Owl City. Since where I live is not the safest place my dad made me walk around with a mini pepper spray can (just in case, we never know right?) and it matched the lyrics perfectly. I also made a fem!reader bc as a girl I don't feel totally safe walking alone at night so I did something more relatable to myself, hope yall don't mind. Anyway, I hope you guys like it! ~Foxy🦊

Nice, just nice.

You had to run out of cat food and only realize it at night. Coming home from work after a really long day you decided to nap, which was not a good idea. Shadow, your 1-year-old cat meowed really loudly at your sleepy face once again. Great, it's time to gather your pepper spray and courage and walk to the closest convenience store.

It's ok, you just have to walk for about 10 minutes

Seeing the convenience store you walked faster and got inside. 2 packs of wet cat food for now will do. Get some sweets and maybe a soft drink to go with your dinner. Opening the refrigerator to get your drink you saw from the corner of your eye a man pass by on the other side of the ice cream fridge.

As he passed by, you caught Joshua's eye. He didn't believe in love at first sight before you.

Tell me again, was it love at first sight?

He needed to get your name and hopefully your number too. He went to the register to pay for his stuff before waiting to meet you outside. Maybe he could offer to walk you home since the news kept on reporting perverts around that neighborhood.

Food acquired, you grabbed the little pepper spray can and put it in your pocket after paying. looking around from the door of the store you decided it was safe to step outside. Walking fast to of there you didn't notice the pretty boy waiting for you.

Feeling a presence behind you, the hand in your pocket gripped the can inside it with more strength

"Hello-"

Turning around to see a (might you add, very pretty) man, you let out a high-pitched scream, spraying your offender with the pepper spray and then running away. The 10-minute walk to the store turned into a 5-minute run to your apartment. With the adrenaline still running through your veins you didn't even notice your neighbor getting his mail, running straight into him.

"Oh god y/n, are you ok?" Mingyu asked grabbing your arms before you hit the floor.

"Mingyu? I- I- I think? I don't know I-" You panicked

"Ok breathe" he did a little breathing exercise with you until you stopped breathing heavily

"I went to the convenience store and a guy started following me so when he got too close I sprayed him with this" You raised the little can on your hand so he could see it.

"Woah, that must have been so scary. You can call me or my roommate Wonwoo to accompany you to the store next time. If we're not home I can check if my friends can go with you, some of them live nearby so it's no problem. Let's get you home yeah?"

While Mingyu gently took you home, Joshua somehow managed to drag himself home, knocking on the door so that someone could help him.

"What the fuc-" Jeonghan opened the door and as soon as he did, he began to cough

"Please just help me to the nearest sink"

"What the hell happened to you? Weren't you supposed to just go to the store to get us snacks for our movie night?" Jeonghan guided Joshua into the bathroom

"Yeah, but I got paper sprayed by this really pretty girl so help me, I don't know what I should do"

"Ok, so according to Google you have to not panic and stay calm" If Joshua could see normally he would have rolled his eyes at his friend's words

"Also wash your eyes with water and soap"

"Took you long enough"

"Yo Mingyu, let's cancel movie night. Joshua is... Not feeling well" Seungcheol said through the phone while looking at his friend, who asked to not disclose what really happened to him "No no no he's fine, you don't need to bring anything... Ok thanks, I'll let him know. Bye" As he hung up Josh groaned

"It feels like I'm dying. Please open the window I'm still breathing funny."

"What did you even do to get her to spray you?" Sungcheol scolded

Jeonghan laughed not even looking up from his phone "he said hi"

"You're kidding me"

"I'm not! I was going to ask her if she wanted me to walk her home since it's dangerous and she attacked me!" Josh responded trying to sit up on the couch and almost falling out

"She probably thought YOU were attacking her you idiot. Now lay down, let me get you some water"

"Thanks bro"

A week passed and nothing eventful happened. Once a week you'd go to the supermarket with Mingyu (or his shy roommate Wonwoo), which made the three of you become closer.

Now, you're currently sitting on your sofa playing Mario Kart against Wonwoo, who's sitting very still because Shadow is sleeping on his lap. Mingyu is in your kitchen making popcorn when his phone starts buzzing on the sofa to your left. Wonwoo is winning this round (again) so you don't bother trying to beat him and look at Mingyu's phone.

"Gyu! Someone called Joshua is calling you"

"Ask Wonwoo to pick it up! I don't want to burn the popcorn!!"

"Put it on speaker y/n, can't let you win this time" Wonwoo responds with a grin. He knew you wouldn't beat him anyway...

"Hey Shua~" He responds when you accept the call and move the phone to sit between you two

"Oh, Wonwoo hii. Where are you guys? I just came by to drop off the books Jeonghan borrowed last week."

"yessss~" Wonwoo quietly celebrates his victory while you roll your eyes "Oh yeah, we're at a friend's place..."

"Sorry man. I'll drop by tomorrow then..." he starts to say when you interrupt

"Hi! We're two floors down in apartment 21 if you want to drop by."

"Hi, didn't know you were neighbors. Thank you, I'll be down in a minute" He said in the nicest tone then hung up

2 minutes later Joshua was at your doorstep and as soon as you opened the door and looked at his face he froze

But when beauty met the beast he froze

With quick instincts, you closed the door on his face.

Mingyu came out of the kitchen with a bowl of popcorn and looked confused.

"It wasn't Joshua?"

"Gyu, it's the guy!" You whisper yelled at him kinda panicked "The guy that followed me from the convenience store!"

With that, Mingyu got alert and quickly left the popcorn on your table and rushed to the door. Opening the door it was just Joshua frozen in place. What...?

"Josh?"

"Oh god Mingyu"

Mingyu closed the door behind him and started questioning Joshua

"Do you guys know each other?"

"Oh well... Long story short... I think I scared her in a convenience store and she pepper sprayed me"

Oh, that makes sense

"So last week you weren't sick... you were pepper sprayed?" Gyu started to giggle at the thought of Joshua all messed up

"Dude stop! That's embarrassing! I only wanted to ask if she wanted company to walk home since, you know, the neighborhood is kinda... not safe?" Josh stated turning red when Mingyu left a genuine laugh

Oh no...

You thought while listening to their conversation though the door. Wonwoo and Shadow found their way next yo you sitting on the floor near the entrance. Wonwoo thought the situation was hilarious while you were panicking. You attacked their friend with pepper spray... poor guy. You felt sorry. All lost in their own thoughts, you didn't realize mingyu opening the door.

The four of you just stared at each other. Mingyu with a goofy face, Joshua blushing in embarrassment, wonwoo holding back giggle sitting on the floor and your panicked face while leaning on the doorframe. Shadow sensed the shift in the situation meowing at you.

This was embarrassing

"can we come in...?" Mingyu asked as you got Shadow in your arms answering a quick yes and moving out of the way

"Yay, let's clear things up." Mingyu answered as Joshua hesitantly followed him inside.

You all sat in the living room. You and Wonwoo on your mini sofa as Mingyu sat opposite you on te floor, ushering Joshua to sit next to him, the books forgotten near the door.

Joshua started explaining to you and apologizing about his... creep-like approach. With you quickly apologizing as well for spraying him. He couldn't help but stare at you.

Up close you were even prettier

After introductions and explanations, you invited him for your movie night. He was Mingyu and Wonwoo's friend after all, which he gladly accepted. Anything to spend more time with the girl he was sure he fell at first sight.

After that, you started seeing more of Joshua. Sometimes you saw him in your neighbour's home and sometimes you crossed paths in the nearby market and the convenience store. On your fourth meeting, at Gyu's apartment, he asked if you wanted to hang out at his apartment. You met mischievous Joenghan and caring Seungcheol.

On your eighth meeting, he asked you out and two months later you were a couple.

On your one-year anniversary, you both lay on your bed, staring at the ceiling where the galaxy projection moves slowly while a soft Lofi playlist plays in the background. You lay on your side, clinging to Joshua's left arm, while his right one carcasses the black cat sleeping on his stomach.

"Remember when we first met? And you almost blinded me with your beauty?" He says amused

"More like my pepper spray" you comment feeling embarrassed

"It's okay sweetie. At least I know you're self-sufficient... And that the paper spray works! You know, I feel like when I saw you it was love at first sight, you caught my eye immediately. I couldn't think straight when I saw you leave, I had to talk to you." He says in that love-filled tone you grew to love so much

"I know baby, I think it would be an ok situation but you got your timing really wrong. You got me fearing for my life that day" You chuckled "You got paper prayed, but hey! Now you have a girlfriend because of it!"

"I don't think that's how it works..."

"Shhh, just be happy that we're dating" You shut him up with a kiss on the cheek

"Happy one year together Shua"

When you met, Shua is the doe-eyed one. But you were the deer in the headlights.

Ok, maybe 'like' was an understatement. He LOVES your cookies.

He loves them so much, that even on a strict diet, he'd ask you to bake him the most diet-like cookies you've ever seen. You weren't sure if oats and bananas mixed together counted as a cookie.

He would brag to the other members that your cookies were the best in the world, but at the same time, he wanted to gatekeep, eating all of them before the members could get a taste. This was why you called him your cookie monster.

y/n 💕- Hey cookie, could you pick up a bag of chocolate chips on your way home pls?

hong 🍪- Sure honey. I'm on my way

When Hongseok reached home, you had already put all the ingredients in a bowl and had the oven on for preheating. Coming from behind and wrapping his arms around your waist he announced "I'm home. With your choco chips"

You spun around and wrapped your arms around his neck, pecking him on the lips. "You're a lifesaver, thanks babe. Now put those muscular arms for good use and help me hand mix these, please." You both chuckled as he moved to the toilet to wash his hands.

This wasn't the first time you baked together, but for Hongseok it always felt like it was. The domestic scene of you preparing trays with a baking sheet while he hand-mixed the cookies made his heart swell. He hoped that things would stay like this in the future.

When he was done you moved to get two ice cream scoopers so you both could scoop the dough into balls. Looking at the dough it was tempting to eat a little, but Hong refrained from it, remembering about the flour and raw eggs. When one of the trays was full, you moved it to the oven, while Hong kept on scooping the rest into the other tray until the dough ended.

With all the cookies in the oven, you're able to finally give attention to your boyfriend

"How was your day handsome?" You said handing him a cup of lemonade and sitting by his side on the sofa

"It was good. Went to the gym, had a shower there, and then I went to my mom's house. She wanted help with building a new cupboard she bought. The manual was really confusing..." You let him ramble about how his day went, but couldn't help but daydream about him. He was the perfect boyfriend. Caring and sweet, he liked pets, he helped his mom a lot... He even helped elderly people! You once saw him helping the old lady from the floor above you, by carrying her groceries from her car to the elevator.

"You're not listening to me"

"I am baby" you responded quickly

"Yeah sure, what was I talking about?" he smirked

"Oh well! let me check the cookies!!"

He laughed at your antics as you sprinted to the kitchen.

When the cookies were done he helped you put them over a grid to cool down. You pulled out a pretty paper box and covered the bottom with a cute paper towel.

Hong extended his hand to grab a cookie but you were faster, grabbing his wrist

"Babe, these are not for you" You said while trying to contain your smile

"What!? Are you kidding me, sweetie?" He said incredulous

"These," You began sorting them out while checking if any of them were damaged "are for Shinwon! You bragged so much about my cookies that he asked a box of them for his birthday!" You said with enthusiasm even though your boyfriend glared at you.

"Really? Shinwon? Can't believe my baby tricked me into baking cookies for Shinwon" he said sulking

"Oh come on Hong! We made them together! I bet they taste amazing with all the love we poured into it!"

"Whatever... You're lucky I love you. Tricking me like this..."

"Let me make it up to you" You said wrapping your arms around his waist, which he quickly reciprocated by wrapping his own arms around your shoulders.

"Yeah? What will you do about it?" he said smirking, which received a light smack from you

"You dirty. Let me cook for you. Dinner's on me tonight"

"Ok sweetie, I'll be expecting a full-course meal! And cookies"

"Don't worry my sweet cookie monster, It'll be the best you've ever had!"

And even though you promised to make dinner, as the sweet gentleman he is, helped you prepare the food. Indeed the best thing that ever happened to you was Hongseok.

Extra: Shinwon liked the cookies so much that he talked about them for a whole two weeks, making all the Pentagon members crave them. All of them asked you to bake them some cookies (without Hongseok knowing since he would steal them), and even Yanan made you promise to bake him some when he came back to Korea

Chani kept side-eyeing Youngbin’s girlfriend as she kept grunting. 1/3 worried and 2/3 annoyed he asked

“Are you ok?”

“Yeah” was her short and direct answer, not even bothering to look at him

He shrugged and went back to scrolling through Instagram when Youngbin busted through the door and presented his girlfriend with a bag

“I got you chocolate and ice cream. Plus your pads and some painkillers” he said while kissing her forehead

She only then opened a bright smile and hugged her boyfriend repeatedly saying thank you. She then got up and ran to the toilet

“What’s up with her?” Chani mumbled

Youngbin with his sharp hearing answered that she was on her period

Chani stopped and started to think back to the last time you, his s/o was on your period but he couldn’t recall a single moment. Of course, his thinking face didn't go unnoticed by Youngbin and his girlfriend who just returned from the toilet.

"Don't you do anything to y/n? You should spoil them ” Bin's Gf questioned Chani

"I… I've never witnessed their period…" he asked

"Haven't you guys been together for 6 months now…? How have you not witnessed it yet…" Youngbin began to wonder, making Chani shrug

"How would I know that they're on their period?” Chani asked the two older

"Well, they could have cramps, mood changes, go to the toilet a lot, cravings… It really changes from person to person”

Thinking about the symptoms, Chani could't remember a single time he witnessed one of those. Oh well, he should ask you about it.

You actually act nonchalantly about your period. Cramps? Take some meds. Mood changes? Yours are not that noticeable and you're a good actor/actress. Cravings? Use that delivery app. You could say you're pretty independent and that's why your period passes unnoticed by your boyfriend. You never felt the need to call him to do anything for you when that time of the month comes after all, way too many years passed with you dealing with it on your own

A month passed and Chani kept on trying to find any signs that you were on your period. When he thought he finally figured it out because you've been upset for a whole week, you simply vented.

"My boss is being a real pain in the ass this week. Everybody agrees that the project needs more time to fully develop and improve but he doesn't care! He just wants us to finish it quickly to brag to his superior! That selfish bastard… ”

One day, Chani walks into your apartment to you angrily sipping water

"What… What happened?”

"I just wanted a mocha frappuccino but I can't drink caffeine OR milk right now. That's annoying” You said now pouting at him

"And why is that?” he asked sitting next to you and putting his arm over your shoulders

"I'm on my period. That usually worsens my cramps” You mentioned and went back to drinking your water

oh? I guess that's his cue to confront you about it

"You know, I've been talking to Youngbin and his girlfriend, and they kind of judged me for not spoiling you when you're on your period. Does that make you upset? That I didn't notice it before?” He said cautiously but honestly

"Oh… Not really, I guess I'm just used to dealing with it on my own. Some cuddles when I have cramps would be nice tho” You responded a bit surprised. You weren't expecting Chani to spoil you since throughout your relationship it wasn't really something that occurred a lot, it was just how you both were, but his willingness to change touched your heart.

"How about cuddles to chase this bad mood away? I guess you can't have that frappuccino now but you can have some cuddles… And your favorite takeout. How about that”

"That sounds wonderful baby, thank you” You pecked Chani on the lips

The Tip Of The Iceberg

Cute, heartwarming and a bit fairy like, like Yanan. Like mentioned in other members, each song has its own unique traits just like the Pentagon members. Yanan and this song are no exception. Also, the title also fits the situation quite well, since the tip of the iceberg is always just a small part of the iceberg and theres a lot to discover under the water, and Yanan with his shy personality also has a lot hidden behind what he actually shows us. 2023 me - the songs also says how some actions are just the tip of the iceberg of things the protagonist would do to get back their loved one, and it also fits well with the relationship of universe and pentagon with Yanan. Even being away from him for so long, we’d do everything to see the boys together again.

Gold (2023)

Yanan is gold. The song tells about someone who is gold, someone who might not see their whole potential even though they are it. For the longest time as a Universe I saw Yanan being like this and slowly starting to become more confident as the years went by. Yanan! You’re gold, so shine forever! Also, CONGRATS ON 1st PLACE YANAN S2 YOU DESERVE IT

Yuto

Up All Night

I really don't know but this song fits Yuto. Maybe is the beat that changes and shows many styles that reminds me of Yuto, of how he looks like something but acts as something else. The song is mysterious and beautiful and thats really Yuto. Its cute but serious and the guitar part... definitely something that fits Yuto. Also, just like Yu, this song has a special place in my heart. “I just can’t get you off my mind, now I’m gonna be up all night”

I'm coming after you (2023)

I’m not sure why 2020 me chose this song bc she didn't write anything, maybe it was the instrumental? I think the bass in the song gives off Yuto vibes. It’s a lightweight song that seems almost theatrical to me. “Woo woo woo- I’m coming after you” The siren sounds seem fun and something that cute and the rest of Mayonnaise would add to their songs haha

Kino

Plant life

Kino has a flower aesthetic so why not? The song is really artistic and that it would suit kino's style if he danced to this song, or even sang it. Both are gentle, creative and majestic, showing a really unique kind of power, that feels almost magical. The lyrics also has Kino's vibes to it. It’s full of metaphors and pretty sounds (I think it’s my favorite owl city song)

shooting star

Kino is a shooting star! Like the song, he seems like the type of person to encourage and support others whey they feel down or tired. Kino is comfort to others, someone really precious and kind. “So shine no matter where you are tonight”

Wooseok

Dreams and Disasters

The image this song makes me think of is always a young couple, careless and fun, driving in a road in the middle of nowhere. This free-spirited style remind me of maknae Wooseokie. The upbeat melody and free-spirited lyrics fit Wooseok who is young and seem adventurous. “I wanna feel alive forever after”

Strawberry Avalanche

I don't know exactly why, but i guess pink Wooseok fits this. Another fun and cute song that fits shy Wooseok. I have this image that Woo is a pretty cute and gentle 2m tall boy and the scenario created by this song would fit him well. 2023 me- The song sounds soft and childish and I feel like behind the serious aura and appearance that wooseok has, there is a gentle and dreamy person there.

Pentagon

Good time

I don't really think I have to explain, but here I am anyways. Ptg is such a fun group. They are all very unique and display their individual charms throughout their journey. Every time we see them it's a good time, doesn't matter what they are doing. They turn the most normal things into something fun to look forward to.

Embers

I feel like this song talks about hope and, as cliche as it seems, pentagon simbolizes that to me. "When its all said and done, we'll shine like the sun so don't let the fire die." It simbolizes well the groups history and it works for their fans too, since seeing their journey Universe might feel inspired to just keep going too. It’s like Eternal Flame!

The Technicolor Phase

Support. Another word I think of when it comes to Pentagon. Thought the song you see how the lyrics say how they’re the support, how they are there to accompany wherever you are. “I am the green in the grass, That bends back from underneath your feet (...) I am the black in the book, The letters on the pages that you memorize” Pentagon and their songs are there for the fans whenever and wherever, it’s what keeps us entertained, hopeful, happy… you name it.

Vanilla Twilight

A soft song that talks about longing and missing someone, fitting for Jinho who's in the military right? The piano melody makes the song feel so soft and slow, but the bridge is really powerful, which for me is the perfect recipe for Jo Jinho

Angels (2023)

Bear with me, but in all the songs that Adam (the vocalist) shows his strong vocals, I’m reminded of Jinho. The “wake me if you’re out there” really gives me Jinho. Through this song, I’m reminded of how Jinho is inspiring to me and how I’m grateful for having him as a role model in music. Among the artist that I know, Jinho is a really unique one that stood out for me, and as the lyrics say “I thought I saw an unfamiliar shadow, among the ones I so clearly know”

Hui

Beautiful Times

To me, this songs marks owl city's new sort of phase, something in between his usual style and his new style. Again the mix between his synth melodies, and the violin passage from Lindsey Stirling brings a bit more life to the song. I feel like this song gives so much hope and that is so Hui. I'd say the mix between styles fits Hui in the sense of him being such a versatile idol and producer, which makes everything even more charming.

I’ll Meet You There (2023)

Hui is hope, the leader that holds all of them together. He seems to care deeply for others and that’s why this is also his song. ”Wander down the streets, And I will be the pavement beneath your feet” He would encourage others to do what they gotta do, what they want to do, and follow their dreams, and he’ll be there to support them no matter what. He also seems like the type that would want to comfort and be there for you even in your dreams. “And when you close your tired eyes I’ll me you there”

Hongseok

Cloud Nine

Charming and caring lyrics like Hongseok. Sounds fun and happy and really, boyfriend vibes. If that isn't Hong vibes then I don't know anything anymore. I even imagine Hongie singing this, especially the ending, before the last pre-chorus, which actually ends up closing the song. Definitely Hongseok

Metropolis

Hong just reminds me of a superhero. Maybe because of his caring self, his strength, or his love for iron man. He just seems to me like the type of guy who would collect Superhero comic books and dream of becoming one someday. If that's him, then he's already a superhero to Universe

Shinwon

Dementia

This song is a little more inclined to the rock side of Owl city and its so cool and pretty. That's one of the reasons why it reminded me of Shinwon. The vibe of the song is a bit like Shin since to me he kind of gives me a more indie rock sort of vibe and so this song is perfect for him, apart from the lyrics of course haha

Thunderstruck

Is a fun and dancing song that reflects Shinwon's personality. The melody struck me just like Shin did when I started stanning Pentagon, so they both match very well to me. 2023 me would like to add, the lyrics also fit Shinwon so well, He is fun, versatile and among all the amazing members he’s one of my favs. “I find in the days when you’re in my dreams, The orchestra plays the pretties themes”. For me, Shinwon shines.

This song just fits Shinwon perfectly in my opinion. The name of the song plus the videogame vibes it gives fits my idea of Shinwon being one of those people who face life and its obstacles as a game. For him specifically, I’d say a videogame. Also, he mentioned that he loves playing games and was very excited in forest with Pentagon when he saw a tv and play station in his room

Classic like Yeo One. The mix between classical instruments and the synth-pop gives a really unique vibe to the song, making you feel like you're in between a dream and reality. I feel like Yeo also gives off that vibe and so, the song suits him very well

Cinematic

The song is sort of a 'Cheer up, you can do it!' message and it suits Yeo really well. Also, the reference to movies, acting, etc. reminds me of actor Changgu, and the image makes me so happy. The song is inspiring and supportive like our dear Yeo One
