You flatter me (Sebastian Sallow x Slytherin!Reader)

Summary; After joining the Slytherin quidditch team it is finally time for your first Hogwarts house party with Sebastian. Overal just two idiots who are in love <3
Warnings: mentions of Alcohol, not proofread

Requests are open!

House parties at Hogwarts held a strong legacy for themselves - and with every new party the students tried to out do the last one. Every house was competitive when it came to this.
Quidditch had always been a good reason to host one such party - so when the sport was reintroduced in your 'sixth' year it was only a matter of time before all hell would break lose in the common rooms.
The Slytherin quidditch team had a few open spots, Imelda Reyes had practically begged you to join the try outs, specifically for the role of seeker.
"Y/n L/n." Imelda Reyes said in a stern voice. "You have beat literally all of my damn trials in record time. You know a seeker is all about insight and speed!"
You pondered on your decision. Ranrok was gone and the ancient magic depository laid safe under Hogwarts. You would finally have some time to yourself - developing your flying hobby didn't sound too bad.
"Besides, I heard a certain troublemaking someone is going to try out for Beater" Imelda teased.
"Very funny Imelda" you said, rolling your eyes at her. She playfully hit your side with her elbow. "Fine, I'll try out for seeker. But you owe me fudge from Honeydukes"
Naturally, you crushed the try outs and landed yourself the role of Seeker. Your competition couldn't even come close to your skills on a broom.
You sat down on the tribunes next to Ominis (who had came to cheer you and Sebastian on), opening a bag of fudge Imelda had given you. The tryout for Beater was next. Imelda was right, Sebastian was taking part in the tryouts. You had seen his surprised face when you entered the pitch - you had told him about your hesitation to join the team, but not about your change of mind.
Sebastian's skills on a broom were quite impressive. You watched in awe as he skillfully dodged and countered the incoming bludgers. He was even cocky enough to fly past you, giving you a wink.
You weren't surprised when he emerged victorious, becoming the newest Slytherin beater.
The only tryouts that were left was for the role of Keeper. Sebastian sat down next to Ominis and you after he had changed out of his quidditch gear.
"Didn't know you were going to try out for Seeker" Sebastian said as he reached for your bag of fudge. "Count me surprised"
You put the bag away from Sallows reach. "Hey, that's my well earned bribe!"
"Imelda had to bribe you to get you on the Slytherin team?" Ominis chuckled. "You're easily bribed, good to know"
Sebastian was taller than you, the difference being even larger than it was in your fifth year. He reached over for the bag and (much to your dismay) snatched a piece of the candy. "You know, I wanted to surprise you by making it on the Slytherin team. But I suppose it's even a better surprise to have my lucky charm right on the field with me"
-
Your first quidditch match was against Ravenclaw. "A good warm-up for our future matches" Imelda had said. Ravenclaw wasn't the strongest opponent you could have been out against - and you were very grateful for that. Despite your rigorous training you were nervous.
"Ready folks?" Imelda asked the team, though she didn't wait for an answer as she flew onto the air. You were all lined up for the opening ceremony, having practiced an elegant yet intimidating entrance. "I want to make them shiver before we even score a single point" Imelda had said. "Besides, it boosts morale"
The trick seemed to have worked; Imelda had scored three times before Ravenclaw did. The score was currently 80-30 for Slytherin. This gave you a slight bit of breathing room to find the golden snitch.
You scanned the playing field and spotted a glint of gold across the other side of the stadium. Sebastian flew to your side, hitting an incoming bludger away from you. You muttered a quick 'thanks'
"Seb!" You yelled. "Keep their Seeker busy for just a minute!"
"Got it!"
You flew down into the pitch, focused on that same glint of gold. Sebastian had kept his word; the Ravenclaw Seeker was far behind you, desperately avoiding the incoming bludgers. He was having a hard time avoiding Sebastian's aggressive plays - even being almost knocked out of his broom. Despite how much you loved besting Sallow in a duel, you made a mental note for yourself to never make him an enemy on the quidditch field.
The snitch was only a few centimetres out of reach as it flew under the tribunes. You upped the speed of your broom, skillfully avoiding every pillar and support that came your way. The snitch flew away from under the tribunes, out in the open air. You could spot the Ravenclaw seeker flying towards the snitch from the other side of the pitch. Sebastian had been knocked to the side and put off balance, disabling him for a few seconds.
"40-80 for Ravenclaw!"
If you didn't act now, the match would be lost. Steering your broom slightly sideways you cut the snitch of - catching it directly in your hand just before the Ravenclaw seeker could catch it.
You quickly flew above the pitch, proudly displaying the golden snitch to the audience.
"150 points to Slytherin!"
-
You walked alongside your quidditch team into the common room, cheers erupting out of your fellow Slytherins as they swarmed around you. The common room had been decorated with all sorts of green decoration, most of them displaying the Slytherin symbol. Snacks, jugs of butterbeer and bottles of all sorts of alcohol were placed on the tables, both muggle and wizard music playing through the room.
You could spot a few shades of reds and yellows amongst the sea of robes - Merlin knows how they got in here.
Sebastian held hold of your waist, hoisting you into the air then spinning you around. You yelped in surprised at his antics, which quickly turned into a laugh.
"To our new Slytherin Seeker and Beater!" Imelda yelled as she raised her fist into the air, more cheers echoing through the room.
"What was that for!" You laughed as Sebastian put you down onto the ground again, playfully elbowing his side.
"What, can't show off our new quidditch legend?"
"Oh please, don't spare yourself the credit"
The crowd slowly dispersed over the common room as the party officially started.
"Care for a drink, Sallow?"
-
One butterbeer had turned into two (alongside a shot of something you didn't know the name of). Your head felt just slightly fuzzy.
Though that couldn't be said for a quite a bit of your fellow Hogwarts students. You had counted at least three brawl fights between a Gryffindor and a Slytherin this evening - which was very entertaining to watch. However, Imelda had promptly kicked them out of the common room.
Sebastian had left for just a moment to grab another drink, leaving you in the company of Imelda and Natty.
"Way to steal the spotlight today!" Natty said enthusiastically as she patted you on the back, holding a glass of butterbeer in her other hand. "I bet that Ravenclaw seeker is going to be sulking for at least a week"
You chuckled at her comment.
"I knew I was right about you" Imelda quipped in as she chugged down another shot. Merlin, that girl could hold her alcohol. "If you keep this up I'll happily buy you all the fudge your heart could ever desire"
"Look forward to our win streak then, Imelda"
You scanned the room for Sebastian. He had been gone for a while now. You spotted chatting with Ominis across the room from you, pouring him a glass of butterbeer. He had definitely gotten taller over the summer - and oh dear, all the quidditch practice had really made him more muscular. You knew Sebastian was handsome, but had he always looked this good in his white button up shirt and those rolled up sleeves?
Imelda followed your line of sight. "Admiring Sallow now, aren't we?"
You whipped your head away from his direction, embarrassed that you got caught.
"Oh please, it doesn't take a lot to notice how obviously the two of you like eachother"
You shot Natty a pleading look in an attempt to get her to back you up, but all she did was shrug.
"Although I have to admit, seeing the two of you pining over eachother has become one of my favorite past time hobbies, it's about damn time one of you confessed to eachother"
You had harbored a crush on Sebastian ever since the trip the two of you made to Hogsmeade at the beginning of your fifth year - his strong wit, flirty comments and protective nature made you fall head over heels for the troublemaker. However, over the passing year your feelings and admiration for the boy had only grown.
"Don't tell me you're scared of asking a boy out on a date?"
"Shut it, Imelda!"
Natty laughed at your bickering. "You have taken down countless dark wizards Y/n!"
"And don't forget about the poachers"
You groaned. "Don't remind me". They were right. How did asking out a boy seem so much scarier than taking down dark wizards? You hid behind your hands, making Natty laugh as she pulled you against her side.
"Tough evening huh?"
You quickly turned around and came face to face with Sebastian Sallow. If your blush wasn't obvious already, it certainly was now. Imelda and Natty giggled at the sight. Imelda shot up from her seat in a hurry, pulling Natty along with her.
"Our turn to get a drink now!" Natty chirped as the two of them rushed off towards the snack table.
You sighed, internally screaming at the thought of Sebastian hearing your conversations. "you could say that, yeah"
Rather than sitting down, Sebastian held out his hand for you. "I haven't danced yet tonight. Care to indulge me?" Your face lit up, gladly taking his hand.
"I'd love too, Seb"
Sebastian eagerly pulled you with him onto the dance floor, laughter erupting from the both of you.
"Ever danced before?" Sebastian asked as he placed his hand on your waist, making you feel as if butterflies were flying through your stomach
"A few times" you said as Sebastian guided one of your hands to his shoulder. Your other hand was still intertwined with his.
"Well don't worry - I'll lead"
The current song ended, a more slow and romantic song taking it's place. The two of you gently swayed across the dancefloor. Merlin did he look gorgeous tonight. You started into his eyes which were full of love and adoration.
"You're a natural" Sebastian whispered as he gently twirled you around.
"You flatter me too much, Sallow"
"You're worthy of all the flattering in the world, L/n"
You couldn't contain your feelings for him anymore. You didn't know where you got the sudden boost in confidence from but it didn't matter. You let lose of Sebastian's hand and grabbed onto the colour of Sebastian's button up shirt, pulling him into a desperate kiss.
Sebastian needed no time react, pulling you closer against him - his free hand now placed in your hair. He kissed you back just as desperately. His lips were slightly chapped, the taste of butterbeer still evident on them. Your hand found it's way onto his cheek, gently cupping it making him deepen the kiss.
The two of you broke apart, gasping in need of air. "I've been waiting ages for you to do that" Sebastian whispered, letting out a shaky breath as he pulled you into another kiss, cheers erupting through the common room at the sight.

Regret pt. 2
Part 2 to 'Regret' as requested! <3
Warnings; slight spoilers for the Sebastian quest line, falling out between characters, not really proofread

. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : - ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ - : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
It had been month since the events in the catacombs. You hadn't spoken to Sebastian since the incident.
When you got back to Anne and Solomon you were met with a devastating sight; Anne was crying as she clutched her side, Ominis desperately trying to calm her down. She was in pain, both physically and emotionally. Solomon was pacing around the living room cursing under his breath. You grimaced at the burn wound that was etched into his chest, most likely inflicted by one of the hexes that Sebastian had thrown at him.
Ominis had rushed towards you demanding an explanation. You couldn't remember what you had said to him at that moment, not that it really mattered. You wanted nothing more to crawl into Sebastian's sweet embrace, for him to tell you that everything was going to be alright while he gently stroked your hair.
But you felt like that Sebastian was gone.
You could only hope for him to return back to you once again.
Admitting that you missed the friendly banter and flirting, the midnight trips to the kitchen (where the two of you may or may not have been caught by one of your professors, earning the both of you detention), visits to Hogsmeade on the weekends and the not so effective study sessions.
You missed Sebastian Sallow.
Ominis had been practically glued to your side since the accident. You understood more than anyone that he was in desperate need of company after what happened; Sebastian was his best friend and he had to watch him turn towards the things he despised the most.
There was no point in thinking about how many times you had cursed Sebastian in your head.
And there was no point in thinking about how many times you had blamed yourself for the accident.
You needed to take your mind of of things and once again you found yourself in the room of requirement. In the past you would have gone to the undercroft. In the past you would've gone to Sebastian.
You shook your head in attempt to drive away your thoughts, focusing back on the book that was placed on your lap. Professor Hecat had given you assignment to study the patronus charm;
'This ancient and mysterious charm conjures a magical guardian, a projection of all your most positive feelings. The Patronus Charm is difficult, and many witches and wizards are unable to produce a full, corporeal Patronus, a guardian which generally takes the shape of the animal with whom they share the deepest affinity. You may suspect, but you will never truly know what form your Patronus will take until you succeed in conjuring it' your book read.
"This advanced spell is precisely what you need" Professor Hacet had said to you. "If you're able to master it, I'm sure no other spell in this class will be as difficult anymore. The trick is to focus on a happy memory, one you treasured most"
A happy memory, one you treasured most. All you could think about was Sebastian Sallow.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : - ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ - : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
'Meet me at the Slytherin common room entrance at midnight. I have something I need to show you'
Sebastian had send you an owl after classes had finished for the day. He wasn't in his usual spot in potions class or defence against the dark arts. Ominis was as clueless as you was about the Slytherin's whereabouts. Seeing the letter had made you smile; Sebastian meant trouble most of the time. But whenever trouble did arrive the two of you had eachother's back.
Midnight couldn't come fast enough. Dinner was mostly uneventful except of the explosion coming from the Gryffindor table, most likely from one of Garreth newest potions. Once again, Sebastian was nowhere to be found.
It was very out of character for him to miss class. Sure, he'd get into trouble for all sorts of things but he was keen on learning. You had to admit you were slightly worried.
The clock couldn't strike twelve soon enough. You had spent the evening studying with Ominis to pass the time.
"You seem out of it, Y/n" Ominis commented. You internally groaned at how obvious your nervousness was to even Ominis. "Sebastian left a note on my door telling me to meet me outside the common room" you sighed. "and seeing how he wasn't in class today..." You looked at Ominis as he thought. "You never know what you're getting into next with him" Ominis said. You could spot a knowing glint of mischief across his face. You had learned how to read both Ominis and Sebastian quite well over the months you had known the two. "Don't tell me you know what he's planning" "I never said anything about that" Ominis said, ending the conversation.
It was now a few minutes before twelve. You had put more effort into your appearance than usual. As much as you didn't want to admit it you wanted to look good for Sebastian.
The castle seemed to look abandoned at this hour. The only figure you could spot was Sebastian who stood leaned against the wall next to the Slytherin's common room entrance. You had to admit he looked more put together than usual today. You were glad you weren't the only one who had put in the effort.
"And here I thought you weren't gonna show up"
"Just like you didn't show up to class Mr. Sallow?" You joked.
"Very funny" Sebastian dramatically rolled his eyes but a smile still lingered on his face. He looked at you, admiring the way you looked, admiring the way the light of the candles illuminated your face so beautiful. "What's the occasion?" Sebastian asked with a smug tone lingering in his voice. "You"
Your comment seemed to take Sebastian aback. "I'm honored" He was clearly blushing as he fiddled with the sleeve of his robe. "You look beautiful, by the way"
"You look quite dapper yourself" the two of you had flirted from time to time before, but this felt different. The atmosphere had a different weight to it than usual, making you curious as to were the night would lead you.
-
"So where are we going exactly?" You asked for what was surely the hundredth time.
"We're almost there"
Sebastian and you had succesfully sneaked past both Peeves and the perfects that patrolled the halls of the castle. The two of you now found yourself in the highlands outside of the castle, close to the forest.
As you got closer, lights emerged from the grass as tens, if not hundreds of fireflies flew out into the night sky. Your eyes widened in amazement; you'd never seen anything as beautiful as this.
"Herbivicus!" Sebastian said casting a spell, making the flowers on the ground spring into full bloom. You gasped in amazement.
"Sebastian, this is amazing!"
"I knew you'd like it" Sebastian walked over to a blanket that was placed on the ground and sat down, patting the spot next to him. You followed him down onto the blanket and rested your head against his shoulder. Sebastian placed his arm around you, pulling him closer towards him than you already were. He smelled nice, floral with a hint of cinnamon. "You're so warm" you mumbled into the crook of his neck making him smile as he gently squeezed your shoulder.
"I noticed you were quite stressed these couple of days" Sebastian said. "I wanted to do something nice for you, then I came across this place and I immediately thought of you"
You hugged Sebastian tightly, earning a soft laugh out of the boy. "Thank you, Sebastian" you mumbled into his chest.
You couldn't be in denial of your feelings anymore. That night you fell even more for the Slytherin trouble maker than you thought you'd ever could.
That night, you fell completely in love with Sebastian Sallow.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : - ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ - : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
The memory you treasured most only brought you more pain. You wouldn't be able to cast a patronus like this anytime soon. Not like this. You sighed. Why did things have to be so difficult?
The 'if only's' spiraled through your head. You were so so tired of feeling this way. Tired of missing Sebastian. There had been many times when you were close to simply walking up to him, pretending that nothing had happened that night in the catacombs. That he didn't spiral as far as he did into the dark arts. That he didn't break all the promises he made to you and Ominis. That he didn't try to kill his uncle.
You knew that both Anne and Ominis were no where close to even forgiving him. But you, you wanted the man you loved back into your life more than anything. Though you didn't dare tell Ominis that, not after what had happened.
You were done with pondering in your chair. It was clear you weren't going to make any progress today.
Just as you were about to leave, the door to the room of requirement opened; the sly above your room turned dark, the lights that were still present in the room seemed to shine on you.
And then the figure stepped in.
Sebastian sallow.
You were frozen in place. Merlin, you did not expect him to find you here. You had wanted to tell him about the room of requirement in the past, thinking it would only be fair after Sebastian had showed you the undercroft. But you couldn't anymore.
"Y/n?"
His voice sounded more raspy than usual.
"Sebastian?"
You didn't know what to do. Then you remembered; the room of requirement showed you what you needed the most. In the past it had been a simple place to study. But now...
Sebastian closed the door behind him and stepped into the room. He seemed as surprised as you were.
But what could you say? What was there to say? You didn't-
"I'm sorry" Sebastian said, fists clutched against his sides. "I'm so sorry. I should've never gone as far as I did. The promises of the dark magic, the promises of that stupid relic led me down a path neither you or Ominis could've followed. And still, I was angry and confused on why you wouldn't help me"
"Sebastian-"
"No, please let me finish. I understand if you hate me, I understand if you want nothing to do with me anymore but I beg of you, please" He looked so disheveled. So broken and tired. Yet you saw a glimpse of the man you knew. "That day in the catacombs... It never should've even crossed my mind to hurt anyone in any way like that. I don't want to think about what would've happened if it wasn't for you. I'm so sorry, Y/n"
Sebastian was crying at this point. He took your silence as a sign to go, turning around to leave.
"Please, wait" you were desperate to release all the feelings you had bottled up inside for so long, and this was your chance. "Everyday I've tried to make you realize the path you were treading on. And when I saw what you were capable of at the catacombs I..." You paused and took a deep breath. "I've blamed myself everyday for what had happened" Sebastian wanted to say something, but now it was your turn to interrupt him. "And I know I shouldn't feel this way. These are not my mistakes, but living with them is so hard, Sebastian"
Sebastian hesitantly walked closer towards you. When he saw that you didn't flinch or step back he gently placed a hand on your cheeks, wiping away your tears with his thumb. You didn't even realized that you were crying.
"I've been such a dumb witted idiot, putting you through all of that. Just know that if you let me, I'll do everything in my power to make it up to you"
"Stopping with avoiding me is a good start" you said, making Sebastian chuckle.
"I wouldn't dare to anymore. Not now, not ever. I'm sorry I've put you through all of this"
Sebastian pulled you into a tight yet gentle hug, making you melt completely into him. You had missed this feeling so incredibly much. "You're so warm" you mumbled into the crook of his neck. Sebastian pulled you closer as he laughed softly. Merlin, you missed the sound. You pulled your face out of his chest. You wondered if it was just your imagination but it looked like Sebastian had grown over the month you hadn't talked to him.
His hazel eyes met yours. They were absolutely gorgeous. Sebastian leaned in closer to you, albeit hesitantly. His hand found his way back onto your cheek making you lean against his touch. A part of you still screamed for you to pull away, tell him that this was all a mistake. But you didn't, you couldn't if you wanted to. The man you saw in front of you was the Sebastian you so dearly cherished.
"This might sound highly improper, but can I kiss you?" Sebastian asked bashfully.
"Please" you whispered, and Sebastian closed the gap between the two of you without hesitation. Your hands found their way into his hair, gently pulling and playing with the locks making Sebastian groan as he deepend the kiss. The hand that was still placed on your waist gently squeezed your side. Was this heaven?
The two of you pulled apart in need of air. Your breathing was slightly out of control at this point. Sebastian scanned your face in search for any signs of regret, relieved when he didn't find any.
"I thought I lost you Sebastian" you whispered.
"I thought I lost myself too" Sebastian pulled you back into his chest. "Whenever I thought about what happened in the catacombs, I... I saw your face of disappointed, I saw how the person I had become scared you. And now I've vowed to never, ever hurt the person I love ever again"
Sebastian Sallow loved you. Butterflies erupted in your stomach at his words. Merlin, you were head over heels for this man.
"I've read about the room of requirement, about how it shows you what you need the most, and-" you had never seen Sebastian Sallow nervous before. You cupped his cheek with your hand. It seemed to calm him down. "And I'd like to stay by your side forever, if you'd let me"
"I would love nothing more, Sebastian"

This was not what you were expecting to happen. The events you witnessed today were straight out of your nightmares.
Ominis had send you an owl mentioning his grave concern for Sebastian and telling you to meet him at the catacombs as soon as you could.
"Ominis, what's going on? Where's Sebastian?"
"He's inside the catacombs, I'm surprised you aren't with him"
"Ominis, I-"
"Stop. You did what you had to do"
Despite how busy you were with completing the trials that were laid upon you by the keepers, figuring out how far ahead Ranrok was and trying to take down Harlow with Natty you made sure you still had time left over to help Sebastian to find a cure for his sister. Sebastian was important to you, no doubt about it. Since you had kicked his ass in your first defence against the dark arts lesson the two of you had been practically attached at the hip.
But recently Sebastian spiralled down a path you couldn't follow him; the empty promises of the dark arts and the desperation he felt towards finding a cure for his sister changed him. He was a shell of his former self and there was nothing you could do about it. It pained you to see him like this. You missed the Sebastian you fell head over heels for.
"I'm going back into the Catacombs to find him. Anne's right - he and the entire hamlet are in danger" Ominis took a breath and readied his wand. "The place is crawling with inferi"
"Inferi? What are you talking about Ominis" there hadn't been any inferi when Sebastian had dragged you with him to explore the catacombs.
"You'll see" Ominis mumbled under his breath, entering the dark hallways. As you followed Ominis an uneasy feeling grew in your stomach. 'Curse you, Sebastian' you thought. 'Don't you dare do something stupid'.
-
Ominis had been right, the place was overrun by inferi. You were suddenly very thankful for the range of fire spells that were at your disposal.
"That was the last of them" you spoke. The uneasy feeling had begin to swallow you whole.
"Anne's gone to get Solomon" Ominis said as he pulled a hand through his hair in frustration. "Anne thought that Sebastian was attacked by the inferi, but when he showed her the relic..."
This was bad. Involving Solomon in this mess would be catastrophic. "The relic had carvings of inferi, you don't think Sebastian-"
"He didn't create them, he's controlling them. I need to get to Hogwarts, I must get to professor Black first. Twist the story a bit, tell him it's a family fight. Please, don't let Sebastian go further down this path"
"Be careful, Ominis"
Ominis turned around and left in a hurry, leaving you alone in the dark hallway of the catacombs.
-
There he was. After traversing deeper into the dark hallways of the catacombs, taking down more inferi than you wished to count you finally spotted Sebastian standing in an empty room, surrounded by inferi. Ominis was right, he was controlling them.
"Sebastian!" You called out. The Slytherin turned to look at you with a dark expression.
"I told you the relic was the answer!" Sebastian stepped towards you. "I've been trying to reverse the dark magic that injured Anne, but this - this will allow me to control it!" Sebastian took another step towards you making you take a step back. "Just like I can control the inferi"
Your patience with the boy was already running thin, but this broke whatever was left. "Control? Me and Ominis have been fighting inferi all through the catacombs and you mean to tell me that you can control it?!" You snapped at him. You didn't want to believe that he chose to attack you and Ominis.
A spark of magic pulled your attention towards the figure that now stood in the ruins. Solomon was here, just like Ominis warned you about.
"You need to stop Sebastian. Accio relic!"
The relic was pulled out of Sebastian's hand. Solomon pointed the wand at the relic that was now in his possession and destroyed it.
"No!" Sebastian yelled as he threw a curse Solomon's way. "You'll pay for this!"
The inferi seemed to have regained whatever was left of their conscience and launched themselves at the three of you. Sebastian and Solomon seemed too focused on throwing curses at eachother to notice. You opted to focus on taking down the inferi, not wanting to risk the danger they posed to the three of you as well as the hamlet that laid close by.
You weren't prepared to be slammed into the wall by a depulso spell that Solomon casted at you. This only seemed to anger Sebastian further and further.
"She cannot be healed Sebastian! You must stop!"
Sebastian groaned in agony. "I won't let her suffer. Avada kada-"
"Expelliarmus!"
Sebastian's wand flew into your hand right on time. Tears flew down your cheek; how did he let it get this far?
"Depulso!" You yelled as you casted the spell, sending Sebastian crashing against the wall. You turned towards Solomon. Anne came into the room, rushing towards her uncle. "Please Solomon, get her out of here" you said to him.
"Bombarda!" Anne casted the spell right towards Salazar Slytherin's spellbook, lighting it aflame. Sebastian screamed. Anne shot him a final look filled with disappointed as he and Solomon apparated out of the room.
You turned towards Sebastian as he laid hopeless against the wall. You pointed your wand at him as more tears fell.
"How could you!" You yelled at him. "Your own uncle!"
Sebastian tried to get up, but you casted a simple hex onto the wall next to him as a warning. "Don't you dare" you muttered under your breath. Your wand was now a couple centimetres away from his neck as he stared onto your eyes. You couldn't place the emotions that were held within them.
"You're beautiful"
His words hit you with immense force making you crumble down onto your knees. You sobbed into your hands. "Sebastian..." You whimpered. You wanted the old Sebastian back. Not this. "How could you let it get this far? How could I let it get this far?"
Sebastian cupped your cheek with his hand. You slapped his hand away without thinking.
"No, Sebastian. I've been by your side the entire time convincing myself and Ominis that you deserved another chance, and another" you stood up and threw his wand across the room. "And look at what you've done"
"Please don't leave me" Sebastian whispered. He was crying now too. A part of you wanted to embrace him, to tell him that everything was going to be alright.
But you couldn't.
"Why, Sebastian?!"
"The relic was the answer the finding the cure!"
"The relic was destroying you!" You wiped your tears away with the palm of your hand. "For weeks, I've been trying my best to help you. Merlin, I even took that damned cruciatus curse for you" you stood back up. Your knees still felt week and unstable, but at this moment you wanted nothing but to leave to cursed place. "Everyday I tried to get the Sebastian I loved back. But you've made your choice. You lost the last person who stood behind you. I hope you're happy, Sebastian" you shot the boy a final look as you walked towards the exit of the catacomb, leaving a weeping Sebastian Sallow behind.

Having the weight of protecting the wizarding world on your shoulders was getting more difficult to hold everyday. Ranrok always seemed to be one step ahead of you and now that you just finished the third trail the pressure was higher than ever.
You desperately wanted to rest but sleep seemed to be avoiding you. Whenever you closed your eyes the events of the third trail kept reappearing before you, the personification of death looking straight at you. You had managed to complete the trail. This one was different than the others, more complex and a lot more risky.
You rolled for the hundredth time in your bed. It was almost the end of the Holiday vacation. You opted to rather stay at the castle than going back home. The castle brought a much needed sense of safety.
Thankfully you weren't the only one who chose to stay at the castle; your fellow Slytherins Sebastian Sallow and Ominis Gaunt as well as Natsai Onai and Garreth Weasley kept you company over the vacation.
You sighed; sleep clearly wasn't coming for you anytime soon. You got out of bed, changed into some more suitable clothes than your pyjamas, grabbed one of the books about the care of magical beasts that you'd been wanting to study for a while and headed towards the common room. It was a lot darker during night, the large windows no longer having any light to let through, only a soft glow coming from a few bioluminescent plants in the water. Thankfully the fireplace was still lit; the warmth was more than welcome. The winters in Scotland were a lot colder than you were used to.
You sat down on the couch and opened your book. You had recently saved two Nifflers from a group of poachers and wanted to give the best possible care you could for the adorable little beasts. The room of requirement was really a life saver. Concentration however, was not on your side either. The words on the pages were dancing around your head, seemingly impossible to read. Frustration was bubbling up inside you as you closed the book with a loud 'thud'.
"You okay?" A voice asked from behind you, making you jump in your seat. You turned around and locked eyes with Sebastian Sallow. "Sebastian, don't scare me like that please!" You stood up from the couch. "What are you doing up so late?"
"I could be asking you the very same thing" he said.
"Can't sleep." You sighed once again in frustration.
"Same here as well. But thankfully for us, I know exactly what would help us fall asleep." Sebastian said, crossing his arms over eachother.
"And that being?" He peeked your curiosity now. You never knew what adventure you'd encounter with Sebastian. From taking out a troll together to exploring Slazar Slytherin's private scriptorium together with Ominis. The two of you had your fair share of adventures, but you knew much more was to come. The latter one leaving a bad taste on your tongue; getting the three of you stuck in room with the only option to escape being the cruciatus curse wasn't an experience you wanted to relive.
"The spell won't work unless you mean it. That's true for all unforgivables. If it must be done one of you must cast it."
"Sebastian, I can't cast the curse on you and I refuse to even learn that damned spell. You clearly have the will to escape, cast it one me."
And so he did. The pain of the cruciatus curse was long gone but would be forever engraved in your memory. It was excruciating; it was like your bones were being broken to pieces, like your skin was on fire. You could only scream in agony as you fell over onto the ground, Sebastian rushing towards you. You could barely remember what happened for the rest of the night, the lingering pain being the only thing your mind was filled with.
"Please tell me it has nothing to do with a scriptorium"
"No, ofcourse not. Just, follow me" Sebastian said, not waiting for your answer. You hesitantly followed him outside of the common room.
"It's not like there are any perfects or teachers walking around in the hallways during the holidays, no need for disillusionment this time"
You nodded at Sebastian. "Undercroft?" "Precisely"
The walk towards the undercroft was thankfully uneventful. "I was reading in the library and found a book mentioning the spell bombarda. Want me to teach you?"
"I'd love you to. Sounds like a great way to calm the mind"
You and Sebastian pulled out your wands. "The incantation is 'bombarda' move your hand like this" Sebastian said as he stood behind you, gently grabbing your hand and moving in in the right way to cast the spell. A small blush formed on your cheeks and you were grateful for the lack of proper lighting in this room. You did not want Sebastian seeing you blush. "I'd say you're ready to cast it on the stack of pots over there"
"Bombarda!"
The explosion that came out of your wand flew towards the stack of pots, knocking them all over the room. Sebastian clapped. "Shouldn't be surprised to see you master a spell so quickly anymore"
"I have to thank my personal teacher for that" you smirked at him.
You sat down against one of the walls of the undercroft, a pleasant silence filling the air. Sebastian sat down next to you. "You seemed...a bit out of it in the common room. Are you alright?" You pondered on your answer. You had told Sebastian about your ability regarding ancient magic, Ranrok and Rookwood being after you and your adventure to Gringots at the start of your year. "You know I'm going to sound crazy when I tell you, right?"
"I don't know how much more you can suprise me"
"Ranrok is after the ancient magic. He wants to use it to take over the wizarding world." You looked Sebastian in the eyes. "I wasn't the only one who could see traces of ancient magic. A former professor at Hogwarts could too. He and three other professors refer to themselves as 'the keepers'. They set up trials for me to complete to ensure the ancient magic is in safe hands." You started fidgeting with your wand, a habit that you picked up over the months. "I completed the third trail, but..." You took a deep breath. "The things that happened, the things I saw, I can't get out of my head. I'm scared, Seb."
Sebastian looked at you with concern as he draped his arm over your shoulder and pulled you into a side hug. "This does sound crazy, but I know you would never make all of this up. What was the trial?" Sebastian asked cautiously.
Your gaze fell back onto the floor. "I had to escape the personifications of death. They were trying to find me, to kill me."
"You can't keep putting yourself through this!"
"Sebastian, I have no choice." You whispered, afraid your voice was going to fail you otherwise.
A silence filled the room once again.
"I'm sorry" Sebastian said. "I'm not helping you much am I? Especially after what I had to do at the scriptorium..."
You turned your head towards Sebastian as he spoke and grabbed his hand. "Sebastian, don't apologize. You did what had to be done at the scriptorium. You're an important friend to me, Seb. I'll help you find the cure your sister needs."
"You're to good to me, honestly" Sebastian said as he smiled at you. "I'm so glad you came to Hogwarts, I have no clue what I would do without you" you smiled and placed your head back on Sebastian's shoulder. "I'm glad I found you too, Seb"
