Dec. 15 - Tell us about a point in the canon timeline where things could have easily gone in a different direction. How differently would things turn out in this AU?
As cool as the surprise history was between James and Alice, it makes no sense to me that he would still be interested in Bella at all once he recognized Alice. At the very least, the Alice storyline should have been prominent enough in his thoughts for Edward to notice.
Jasper's emotional camoflauge in Midnight Sun was a decent retcon attempt for this, but come on. If James is so obsessed with hunting and that one failure has been bugging him for 84 years, he should drop everything and start hunting Alice again.
He would be so excited about the challenge of getting around Alice's gift to try to get to her, to separate the family, etc. How does Victoria feel about his little game? How will the Cullens keep both Bella and Alice safe? Does Jasper ever fight James one-on-one? Do Laurent or the Denalis figure into this story at all? Does James bring in any other allies on his side? If this hunt goes on long enough to catch the Volturi's attention, do they get involved (either to clean up a mess or because Aro is excited to learn about Alice)?

Jasper x Male!reader
he is a descendent of Alice, and like her he has visions. But since he got a head wound from nearly being mauled (Edward saved him while Jasper decimated the offending creature.)
He can't see pictures in his head anymore. So, it starts to manifest in spurts where he can see things in his head, but he can't make them out clearly because they go by so fast. Edward can see them! Alice helps him adjust and Jasper does too, but Jasper more so let's those two take the lead because Jasper has him during nighttime and he is "returned" per say to Jasper around the evening.
Jasper and he talk while reader gets settled in for the night. (He is a hybrid.) And since Edward and Alice are so helpful with seeing and interpreting these visions reader feels less distressed.
So, he and Jasper get their magic back. So, they walk around the woods, go on small dates, and just spend quality time together.

This was all I could get out before I decided I didn't like my idea:
“The incessantly talking, ugh! Does she ever stop?!” Jessica shouts at Angela completely ignoring me and our conversation entirely. “I-” My mouth falls shut when Jessica sends me a glare. I was never one for conflict but now I was apparently. It was over before it started I was wider built than the other girl.
I had at least ten to fifteen pounds on her and I was underweight! My fist slammed into her face and my hand in her hair before she had time to react. I wasn’t inherently super fast but I was good at making my presence unforgettable. In the worst of ways.
I’d have to ask Bella to forgive me. At a later date of course. Now I was headed to the principal’s office but not before I slammed her head down a few times into the lower lockers. Her head wasn’t exactly running blood but there was some damage.
Nothing like our mother used to do to me.
‘I can bullshit with the best of the best after all. What’s a little trouble?’ I throw the younger girl’s head down to the floor and raise from a crouch. Not looking around, I grab my backpack and zip it up. Not bothering to collect the stray textbooks that’d fallen out. It was school property anyway.
(Reader abused by Renee, she left later than she does in canon, probably like new moon.)
“I’ll probably be an old crone.” I nod in agreement to my father. Who laughs at me hunching forward? I honestly have no clue. I lock eyes with Emmett.
“Wow, you got some bite back in you.” Emmett laughs under his breath. Passing me on his way into the office. The sound is a sweet one almost comforting.
