based off a restaurant I saw in @anotherplumbob‘s game here. Sort of a “Chuck E. Cheese” type place that kids drag their parents to for the games and the food is subpar.
If anyone has followed me throughout the years, they'll know that my first world was Oceanview. Well, believe it or not, I will be revamping this world as soon as I release San Marina. Oceanview has been pretty much begging for houseboats and ports, so I'll be re-sculpting all the shorelines and doing a little cleaning up of lots, as well as creating an Island Paradise version of the world. These will be known as Oceanview 2.0 and Oceanview 2.0 Island Edition.
One of the hardest areas to finish up in San Marina was this coast. I don't know why, but I didn't know what to put there or how to finish it. Finally, in March 2024, I was able to figure it all out, and now the area is nearing completion.
I wasn't sure of adding houseboats but I finally decided to add some. It wouldn't exactly be a "marina" if there weren't any, dont'cha think? I'm just hoping they don't create lag, so I'll definitely be testing these out. If they create issues, I'll add houses on stilts instead.
I've been pretty much avoiding The Sims 3 store, because I didn't think the items would add much. Boy, was I wrong. I got the Surf’s Up Sun & Fun Wave Station for San Marina and test it out. I expected surfing animation. I just didn't expect this to happen (see video). 🤣Really ❤️this game!
It's been raining a lot in San Marina during the last playtesting session. You'd think it would be a dreary experience, but I think the weather adds a lot of atmosphere. You can catch a glimpse of what the city looks like in this livestream:
Was having a little fun in Da Vinci Resolve trying to simulate one drunk sim having a hard time recording their friends singing karaoke, LOL... I was really beginning to hate Resolve until I finally found some great gurus who explained the basics. Now I'm getting the hang of the program.
Reblog if you are a simblr of either the Sims 2 or the Sims 3 (or both).
I wanna support more simblr accounts despite have being retired from Sims role playing myself, especially since they're overshadowed by the Sims 4 nowadays. I have nothing against those who enjoy the Sims 4, but as a long time simmer I still wish to support other fellow simmers who are active in the same simblr as the one I grew up with. 🫶🏻
And yes, you're free to reblog this even if you're retired but still love the Sims!
Just posting a few screenshots from some updates I did this past week. I am really confident about this world coming out in the summer, so I'm feeling good right now. I'm just a little worried about the lot count, because it's a lot higher than I'd been hoping, so I'll definitely have to put out a lite version once the official version is released.
Spent a lot of time this week on San Marina (WIP), including adding spawners and more terrain paint. As you can see in the above screenshot, it's come a long way.... 😉
If you woke up today hearing news that an earthquake rocked the Northeast, no, this is not an exaggeration. We were hit by the largest quake ever in recent history. Luckily, everyone is okay and there are no major damages, but I kind of feel like this:
Currently doing another round of playtesting in San Marina, this time checking out an area I had previously neglected along one of the shorelines. I really wish I could develop this entire area from end to end, but what with the game being 32 bit and all and pushing 220 lots, this was a no-go. 😭
Wheeeee! Got Sims 1 Up and Running on Windows 11 Via Virtual Machine!
So, I was really pissed off when Microsoft rendered Sims 1 inoperable awhile back, forcing people to jump through hoops to play it. I wasn't about to download a bunch of dodgy cracks and spend an afternoon swapping X file for Y file and blah blah blah, so I avoided the entire enterprise for a year and a half until I stumbled across a more viable solution: using a virtual machine to install and run the Sims.
Of course, it helps if you have the original Sims discs and a Windows installation disc/ISO file, which is what I have. But I suppose people could download cracks or something if they never owned hard copies of the game and older versions of Windows (which I don't endorse, by the way).
