A year ago

I was waking up to a life I don’t think I’d recognize today. I worked a job I hated, lived in a place that made me feel isolated and trapped, and overall just had accepted that my life was just what it was going to be.

Today, I work a job that affords me the ability to enjoy life a little more, I’ve made new friends, and have been able to do some things I never thought would have been possible.

I still struggle every so often. I don’t think that’ll ever really go away, you know? But I don’t shut down as much. I don’t try to destroy myself. I want to actually take care of myself.

Last year, I had no idea my life would be like it is today. I don’t know what to expect in the new year, but I’m going to make sure I continue to find myself again
