Must Haves For Women Travelers
For women packing is never easy peasy lemon sqeezy. It is always kind of a challenge deciding what to include in our suitcase and what to drop.
There is a list of packing hacks that can come in handy and things you should include while travelling.
Packing cubes and other cases can be helpful to sort things out and makes your suitcase look very organized. Also when you roll your clothes in them, they take up much less space.
1. Clothing : Well for women to be able to choose which pair of jeans to take and which one to ditch is a tough call. But one should carry limited amount of clothing only, which should include a basic black and white top which can be paired up with anything be it a pair of jeans, shorts or a skirt. Depending on your destination you should focus on your choice of clothes, so if you are travelling to a tropical region, carrying a pair of shorts and swimsuit and an umbrella is a must, on the other hand if you are travelling to a hilly more chilly area, a jacket or other winter warmers would be a necessity. Also a pair of slippers and sports shoes is a must. And a sarong which can be used as a light blanket, headband as well as a scarf, these multi-taskers can help reduce the weight. Again, checking the weather before reaching your destination is also a factor which needs to be considered before deciding your clothes.

2. Documents : This is an important aspect of travelling and can come in handy at any point in travelling. They should be handled with utmost care and also carrying a soft copy of your documents in your smartphone can also be helpful if you ever loose the hard copies. Carrying all the necessary documents can turn out to be very helpful, such as passport, license, ticket, student or senior card, a diary where all the emergency numbers are written down along with the embassy contacts in every country you are travelling to. Also extra passport size photos, and money, in both plastic and paper forms.

3. Toiletries : These are an extremely important part of your list. Make sure to include all the basic stuff such as shampoo sachets which are another multi-taskers since they can be used to wash clothes also and carry sachets instead of bottles since they are light weight, face wash that can also be used as a shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrush, deodorants, sunscreen, makeup items, hand sanitizer, paper and wet tissues, first-aid kit, prescription meds, and other things depending on your destination.
4. Electronics : Since we are mostly dependent on smartphones for our everyday use, carrying a smartphone with a well working GPS can be very helpful. A portable charger can be very handy and specially the new ones equipped with an inbuilt torch. A DSLR along with extra memory card. An ipod or a MP3 player if you are a music lover. All these things can be extremely helpful during the journey.
5. Choosing a Bag : This is an important factor since they can hamper your travel if not chosen carefully. Choosing a trolley bag is easy to carry around. Also choosing the one which is water proof is on a safer side, especially at places where rains are uncertain and also carrying hard shell suitcases are better than carrying soft shells since they last longer and don’t tear and also protects delicate items. And carrying miniature locks are better than number locks since the number locks are not reliable and can put you through a lot of trouble if they are changed by mistake. Also carrying a side bag can be helpful which can accommodate your wallet, important documents, a tiny water bottle, and other important things. One of the main things to keep in mind is also not stuffing too much in your suitcase and keeping it as light as possible so it has space for shopped items also.

TOC Wanderers in Mystic Land: Leh Ladakh
An Escape into the Paradise..
11 beautiful women from across the country sharing their experience of travelling to Leh Ladakh with TOC.
The beauty of Ladakh cannot be described in words. It truly is a heaven on Earth with its fascinating serene beauty including magnificent snowcapped Himalayan ranges, calming beauty of Pangong lake and freshwater rivers coming down from the glaciers, spotless white sand dunes, tall cone like pine trees and other exquisite forms of vegetation and wildlife all at once. Being in the midst of something so alluring is in itself a life changing experience, we fell in love with the place as soon as we put our first foot on it.
Especially, women travelling alone without their families for the first time, it’s a life altering experience in itself for them.
The calming view from our Swiss tents was bliss.
And sitting by the bonfire at night, everyone dancing to the music echoing in the mountains, and then later sipping on tea and having a nice interactive session, where all the women shared their life experiences, it was very motivating.
The day 1 of the trip started with getting acclimatized with the atmosphere of Leh, since it is located at almost 11000+ ft about sea level & has less oxygen as compared to plains. Later post lunch, we visited Shanti stupa and Leh Palace and both are the most important tourist attraction of Leh city.
Shanti Stupa is an age old Buddhist stupa, entering which gave us a very soothing energy with its aura, it is on a hilltop in Changspa, and it is located such as it gives a panoramic view of the surrounding picturesque landscape.
Day 2 was full of surprises as we first visited the Hall Of Fame Museum which is constructed in memory of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in Indo-Pak wars. It was very inspiring, giving us an insight about the wars our country has fought and the glorious life of the soldiers.
And then after that we headed for the fun filled River rafting at Sangam Point which happens to be a meeting point of Indus river and Zanskar river. It was very exciting and thrilling, the adrenaline rush you get while experiencing it is incredible, along with enjoying the spectacular beauty of the landscape, it was one of the highlights of our trip.
Later we visited Pathar Sahib Gurudwara which is constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak. We had a sumptuous langar meal there and also learned about the history of the gurudwara and after that visited the Kali Mata Temple.
Day 3 we left for Nubra and crossed the world’s highest motorable road, Ladakh is rightly known as the ‘Heaven of Passes’, the view outside our windows was breathtaking.
After that we stopped the bus as soon as we were advancing close to the snow covered mountains and couldn’t hold ourselves back from playing in snow which is everyone’s childhood dream come true.
Later that day we went to District Buddhist Monastery which is in Sumoor, a small village in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, where you find all forms of natural biodiversity, mountains, trees, river, and white sand dunes all at one place, it was sheer bliss. Then we headed to our hotel and had a camp fire, which invoked everyone’s inner child and free spirit.
Day 4 We left for Hundar and had an amazing time posing with the double hump camels and doing camel safari in the white sands. The differentiated terrains of Ladakh with its barren lands and pristine pastures and little surprises along the way gives us a magical experience.
After that we headed towards Pangong lake, the journey to that lake was both adventurous and tiring but after reaching that place it was all worth it. The lake stretches from India to China and has crystal clear water and an amazing panoramic view with turquoise blue water changing hues minute by minute and so cold that you can’t keep your feet in it for more than a few seconds, giving a very rejuvenating feeling.
Day 5 also we stayed in Pangong, early in the morning we meditated at the banks of the lake for about 30 minutes, felt extremely peaceful with the stillness of the water and alienated surroundings all we could hear was each others breathing.
Then later we gave a little something back to the nature’s bounty by cleaning the lake.
We visited the 3 Idiots movie shooting point, enjoyed the view, and then later in the night had camp fire.
Day 6 We bid adieu to Pangong and headed towards Leh, we had a halt at the Changla Pass where we sipped on the very famous Kawa Chai infused with local herbs very energizing and comforting in the cold weather and Maggie at a cafe and later that day we explored the markets and roamed about in the city and finally had our last night in the mountains.
Next morning we had to wake up from a beautiful dream world and had to board a flight back to the real world.
This trip brought us a little closer to mother nature which made us forget about all our tensions and other worldy affairs, and just absorbed us in its beauty.
On the trip we also connected with each other, got to know each other’s experiences and life stories, and built a lifelong friendship.
Women travelling alone is not safe is just a myth.
We loved our stay in Ladakh with its varied landscapes, old fashioned yet beautiful villages and stunning views, if you haven’t already been here yet, you are definitely missing out!

A Trip To Desert is A Different Feeling Altogether

We all come across various photographs of Beaches, Mountains, Hill-stations with snowfall or waterfalls on many travel relate Instagram and Facebook account, or blog website. However, being in a desert is a different fun altogether (condition - you are not there in extreme summers).

Our journey with female travelers from New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, started at #Jaipur. They assembled at the famous World Trade Park at JLN road of Jaipur, near Malviya Nagar. From there, our travel partner - Hippo Cabs were ready with a brand new, shining car.. The journey started at night, and by the time, we reached Jaisalmer, it was already morning and this was our welcome view -
Activities that gave us the best memories of our life
We did, Parakiting, where the parachute, was pulled in the desert by a Jeep. Since, it was so windy, it was very easy to take-off.. Have a look -

While on the journey, we met our brave soldiers, saw the beautiful fort of Jaisalmer, which is also known as the Golden Fort. We witnessed one of the best sunset of our lives. And then there was this magnificent moon-rise on the earth side, which we captured in the camera. We also enjoyed Camel Safari and the adventurous Jeep Safari, had delicious Rajasthani cuisine.

The area will be based upon the fictional exoplanetary moon, Pandora from James Cameron's Avatar film series, and will include Pandora's floating mountains, alien wildlife, and bioluminescent plants.Pandora – The World of Avatar is expected to span 12 acres (4.9 ha) and feature multiple attractions, entertainment, audio-animatronics, 3-D holograms as well as retail, food and beverage outlets.

At Disney's 2015 D23 Expo, Walt Disney Imagineering confirmed two major attractions.
Avatar: Flight of Passage, a flying E-ticket simulator attraction, where guests will learn to fly with a mountain Banshee.
Na'vi River Journey, a boat ride attraction showcasing the native fauna and flora of Pandora, which will include Audio-animations and small drops.
Pandora – The World of Avatar will also contain several restaurants, food and beverage stands, and stores.

I Started Traveling Because...

And when you visit new places & see new art, meet new people, make new friends, understand new culture, learn new recipes... You grow as a person, you gain confidence, you become independent in real sense..
The daily routine of managing office and home, takes a toll on me.. And if you take a break for few days and travel, it acts like the “Refresh” button in your life... Even if you take a short trip, it re-fuels the energy back into the system...
Well, this feeling is incomparable, the sand of the beach, the breeze, the view of endless ocean along with the sun setting in the back-drop.. It literally liberates your soul.. heal you heart...and you can over-come any sort of negative feeling...
“Why Should Boys Have All The Fun..??”... Camping, Trekking or be it Bungee Jumping,... We too love being adventurous...
It has always been my child-hood dream to fly... and someday, I might even fly a plane...

Perks of Traveling - FOOOOD...!!
Well, who doesn’t love traveling..? Rarely few… And of all those who don’t.. they not only miss the beauty that this nature earth has to offer, they also miss one super amazing perk in the form of delicious new cuisine of different places of earth…
And being a vegetarian, I am always asked, how do you travel..? What do you eat when you travel,..? And people always look upon me as Oh Poor fella..she doesn’t eat non-veg, she is missing out on such great food..
Well, no doubt, being a pure vegetarian, when I travel, apart from some locations in India (and few outside India), finding pure veg food sometimes gets really tough, but since i am an animal lover, i have pledge not to kill animals and eat.
But that doesn’t mean, that vegetarian food doesn’t have many options. Well, there are so many things in veg food, that it can make your mouth water, just by it’s images…
Here, have a look at some of the delicious and tempting food, that I come across when I travel to different locations.. and these are best perks you get when you travel..
The yummie pav-bhaji and rajma-rice (image above). And what a clean presentation…
I really had water in my mouth when the waiter came along with this extremely tempting chole-bhature.. And i can’t even express the smell and taste in words..
Well, at one of the cafe, I got a honor to meet the chef and see the way the meals are been prepared, and when I saw the dish, my inner-self couldn’t resist in ordering this tempting Veg-cutlets.. (above image)
And then they arrived along with chutney, ketch-up & the irresistible masala-papad, I ate like an elephant...
And now, let me show you the most tempting starters I ever had, The colours itself made me so hungry that I did not keep the count of the pieces I gulped.. (image below). This is had imli-chutney, green-chutney, some namkeen, and corn-potato filling in the form of small katori (edible bowls)... This is by far, one of the best starters I ever had...
Now who says, there are few options in vegetarian food.... Well, as I travel across different states and borders, I will keep clicking and sharing the best food of different culture along with the name of restaurant and cafes... so that you can also try these mouth-watering dishes, in case you happen to visit there... And as I say, there are more perks to traveling than just beautiful views... So keep traveling, keep exploring.. #TravlOnCards

Here is the glimpse of the interview with them...
“How will you travel alone?”, “Who will be there to accompany you?”, “No, it’s risky, so go with your parents or any family member.” These sorts of comments are always encountered by every woman at every stage of life. It’s an underlying problem that a woman has to face when it’s about traveling or getting to explore something new. And, to break this stereotypes a revolutionary concept has bloomed in the air of Lake City – TravlOnCards. An initiative considered by Monika along with her co-founders Shikha, Nidhi and Ankit to let woman travel by herself and explore the world that’s waiting for her to fly high.
And, by catching up in conversation with Founder Monika and Co-founder Ankit, we got to know much interesting stuff that is adjoined with women traveling...
Why the name TravlOnCards and, from where this idea got its vision?
“TravlOnCards is basically a woman group tour concept which somehow resembles the surprise that is hidden on your cards. Just like a tarot card reading or Horoscope which usually depicts things that are more likely to happen. And, if a woman really wishes to travel but has always been into the stigma of how, when, and with whom, this is what we are answer and of course a desire to let her begin with the trips that she always dreamed of.
Since college, we have seen this genuine concern that woman can’t travel like guys often do. A stigma is attached with females in our Indian society is she can’t travel by herself. Almost every woman whether she is single, married, professional, aged, or unprivileged has to face this point somehow in life. Moreover, women are always confine in four-walls of their home or kitchen and if she is a working women or a mother, she has added responsibility of kids, career and home. Why A Woman Should Travel?
[From an Avid Woman-Traveler]
There is a stigma attached to women going out of the home, town, city or country. They often are looked upon with a question, and I am sure as a woman, you must have felt that too. It can be a concern, but every time? Even, when you are grown up & mature and able enough to travel on your own!
Often women are viewed and considered to take care of home, kids, food/kitchen, and all other things with which she is over-occupied in her life.
"So why should you need to go out?"
"Why you need to travel or go out on a trip?"
We are able enough to take responsibilities of people in our life, raise our kids but when it is about exploring the world, meeting new people, learning new culture/instrument/vehicle why do we have to look for someone? Can’t we just book a ticket with our friends and go to any random place for vacation?
Yes, We Can!
So that is why I started a Women #Travel Venture - TravlOnCards - Only and only for the women, by the women, and of the women.
Women occupied with kids, husband, family, kitchen, you all have the right to be free. It's time you need to find an escape from the 24x7 non-stop juggle of office or your daily household work.
We need to come above the so-called saying" Women traveling alone are not safe and is not our culture concept," WE ALL CAN TRAVEL," Yes We can. We too as females should enjoy our freedom, our time, and a sense of being independent, relaxed or revived.
This Travel Club is for all those women, who had lost their dream to be independent, who have just given their life for home, husband and kids, who are slogging in their office within deadlines.
TAKE A BREAK. TAKE A TRIP.
“There is a woman at the beginning of all great things.” – And as Alphonse De Lamartine says you as a woman just need to begin, traveling will be eventually great.
And when the group of women gets together, explore together, things happen amazingly, and new stories are created and shared, bonds for life are created, and self-attainment is perceived.
People often ponder over one question, that why have I created this only for women traveling? And, would it be a success when they prefer to travel with their families or husbands?
The only answer to this question is that Women can do anything anytime and the fact is they do it all the time. But the essence is when a woman travel with a woman, it’s a different level of fun and frolics altogether, it is safe, easy-going, non-competitive and totally carefree. And, most notably traveling carefree lets them discover their hidden part and focus only on themselves, for development. There is no work, no husband, kids, in-laws or family to hold responsibility and take care. In whole it helps them to be totally free in a real sense, it helps them to defeat their fears and let go off their restraints. In other words, it helps them reinvigorate their mind, body, and spirit.
Women! Discover your old lost dreams, which you must have dreamt as a little girl laughing, talking to strangers, sharing your secrets and finding comfort in discussing the problems with yours women-mates. And we don't miss the opportunity of pampering you with spa, shopping, dancing, eating, adventure sports, and much more things which let you enjoy.
