Where my previous TimeSlices showed each slice in chronological order, this TimeShade series mixes it up, creating a more colorful effect. More time slicing of Bagan. I’m not the first to create TimeSlices, but for me the idea came when I started thinking of ways to turn an entire timelapse back into an image, one that captures that passing of time. Lightning at Bagan! I hoped I would capture a storm over the temples during my 6 weeks there, but apparently years pass without a single storm, even during the monsoon. Bagan lies in the desert of Myanmar and is known as a dry zone. It receives very little rain during the monsoon season, one of the fiercest weather systems in the world. It does get some crazy cool cloud formations that look as if all he’ll is about to break loose. But it doesn’t. Rain and lightning storms fall apart over the region or get pushed aside it. Interesting to see on the weather radar, but massively disappointing for a storm lover like me. I got lucky though, check out tomorrow’s post for that! Of all places I’ve visited, Bagan captured my heart above all other. It’s a majestic place with gorgeous views and magical structures as you can see in this drone video, but what really touched me was the kindness of the locals. Such gentle, pure and genuine people.
