Transmasc Swag Polls- PRELIMINARIES
This round will eliminate the LOSER. The two characters with the most votes have a guaranteed spot in the polls, so choose whichever one suits you. The "?" characters are already in the polls proper.

One Piece
Zoro Propaganda-
He goes around with an open shirt, showing off his scars, buff as anything. Also he’s a Gender Equality guy. As kids, his rival said when they grew up she’d never be able to beat him because he’s a boy, and he scoffed at the statement and insisted otherwise. That doesn’t necessarily make him trans but it would put a neat lens on the scene if he were.
He’s a sword guy! He uses three swords, is cranky, picks fights, and is secretly the goofiest guy around! When he challenged The World’s Greatest Swordsman to a duel (and lost) Zoro turned around to face the guy and take the wound on his front, because “scars on a back are a swordsman’s shame.” That’s freaking cool dude.
[Pollrunner's Note: He is gay but almost exclusively for swords (and whatever the hell he's got going on with Sanji). Also, he can make his tits bounce.]
Crocodile Propaganda-
Him and Ivankov (a canonically trans character with the ability to change people's sex) are stated to have known each other in the past, with Ivankov knowing SOME SECRET about crocodile that he gets INCREDIBLY NERVOUS about being potentially revealed.
The organization he runs is incredibly gender-centric with everyone using either Mr. or Ms. as part of their code name...except him, who uses Sir.
One Piece Live Action kinda sorta made trans crocodile canon in that series at least- at Roger's execution you can spot a woman wearing a fur coat similar to his, and we know in the manga/anime Crocodile was there. Not to mention Inaki (Luffy's actor) STRAIGHT UP says crocodile is there and everyone at the table looks like he said something he wasn't supposed to.
[Pollrunner's Note: I've long held the headcanon that Crocodile is Luffy's secret birth parent. We've never met Luffy's mother and Oda is incredibly vague whenever asked about the subject. Crocodile has a notable past with Luffy's dad, Dragon, as does Iva.]
Franky Propaganda-
He's canonically changed his name and rebuilt his body (cyborg) to his own standard of "romantic masculinity" (actual quote). Franky's introduction to One Piece was him being the leader of a gang of queer-coded delinquents (who all call him "big bro") because he himself has been cast out from society. He's a huge fucking cyborg. He refuses to wear pants ever, even as a child and only wears open hawaiian shirts.
[Pollrunner's Note: Robots have a very intentional masculine coding in One Piece, and Franky loves to pretend and play up that factor at every opportunity. I have gotten into vehement disagreements with people before who've said how he 'can't be trans' because we've gotten confirmation that Franky has a dick and balls. My counter-argument is that Franky is more than capable of building his own body parts if he wanted to, which we've seen with how he was able to turn his entire torso into a mini-fridge.]

Alright, I had a crazy damn week so we're going to make a little announcement about it!
I'm going to be moving soon- May 3rd- and this decision was finalized yesterday. I always hoped it would happen so I tried to include it in my Planning, but that's difficult to do when you don't exactly know what the date will be. As such, I can finally announce the date that the polls are going to start (barring some sort of emergency but let's not plan on that)
I always wanted the polls to start on some important date for our community, so we're going to celebrate International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia together on May 17th by kicking this whole thing off. More info to come as we get closer to that date!

Did Simon Petrikov not make the cut? I submitted him a long time ago, and just wanted to check to see if he’ll be considered for the polls
He indeed made the cut. He was in the "maybes" for a bit but some characters had to be kicked out for various reasons, so I was able to justify adding him. Rejoice!

Okay so here's the problem that we're facing right now.
I have already put two One Piece characters into the polls proper (under what I'm calling the Pollrunner Meowmeow Clause), but there are five that were nominated, and all five of them have valid reasons for being submitted.
All five of them are important to me for various reasons. I was GOING to cut it off at three in an attempt to be fair to the other fandoms who had to have a set limit (Homestuck), but I think no matter who's left out, someone's probably going to end up bigmad about it, and rightly so imho.
So we're getting four One Piece characters in the polls, and YOU ALL are going to determine who that is.

Mayhaps you can start by pitting the characters you know are less popular against each other and work your way up to the more popular characters..idk lol
That's similar to what I did last year and I was asked that year to seed things a bit more evenly "next time". We had several unintentional "hydrogen bombs vs coughing babies" and a few heavy-hitters pitted against each other in the same round. Reigen Arataka and Dirk Strider lost the first round they were in. I'd like to be a bit more careful about scenarios like that this year

Has anyone suggested Sir Crocodile from One Piece yet? I'd say he falls between subtext/coded and oops! Your character is trans! On the canonicity level scale.
Propaganda:

Another trans character in the form of Bon Clay works with Crocodile, and never once is it implied that he views them as lesser, and considering how One Piece likes to make the crew reflect the captain...
Child Crocodile is INCREDIBLY androgynous, as shown with both the SBS/bonus doodle of the child warlords and S-Crocodile.
One Piece Live Action kinda sorta made trans crocodile canon in that series at least- at Roger's execution you can spot a woman wearing a fur coat similar to his, and we know in the manga/anime Crocodile was there. Not to mention Inaki (Luffy's actor) STRAIGHT UP says crocodile is there and everyone at the table looks like he said something he wasn't supposed to.
While I appreciate the enthusiasm, and Crocodile is actually going to be in the last "Choose Your Fighter" round, please note that submissions have been closed for quite a while now. I'm more than happy to categorize this as propaganda, though.
I personally headcanon that he's Luffy's secret birth parent because I think it would be incredibly funny. His reintroduction straight up went "Lol if you don't help us then I'm outing you" like what the hell Iva

how's it going bro?
Without getting too personal my birthday was kind of a disaster. My birth family has never been accepting of my transition and found a way to ruin it again. I’m honestly just pretending that I still haven’t even had one yet.
My girlfriend got me Baldur’s Gate 3 though and I’m having a blast playing that, Gale and Astarion were handled so well as disability allegories and I feel the most seen I ever have in a long time.
In terms of work I’m trying to finish one of the bigger scripts for one of my Deltarune video essays, that’s been chugging along a bit slowly thanks to the fact that it’s entirely about music and I’m not exactly a music theory guy. So I’m currently trying to teach myself how midis work. I’m extremely excited to be able to finish it though, it’s been a project that’s honestly changing the entire way I think about the game itself
I am sorry once again that I still haven’t been able to start the polls yet. Learning how to prioritize my own health has been a bit of a nightmare and I’m so thankful that you all have been so patient with me. I’m excited to be able to start the tournament and I am making good headway with the prep work. It’s just been a LOT more than I estimated having to do compared to last year’s (the seeding is a particular issue thanks to the amount of Yamato and Jesse Pinkman-level characters that were nominated this year. How to give other characters a chance without pitting too many of the more popular choices against each other? Maddening)

Why are these characters in the prelims?
It's genuinely up for debate whether these are the same man or not. In my personal opinion, they are reflections of each other and this is backed up with the FNaF movie taking elements of both the games (where Michael Afton is the protagonist) and the books (where Michael Afton arguably doesn't exist). I will be upfront and say I would like to have both in the actual polls if possible. However, it didn't sit right with me to run these two in the same poll without having a second pass for this.

Mike Schmidt Propaganda-
My transmasc friend (with abundant amounts of tboy swag) was trying to figure out what charmed him about Michael in the fnaf movie until he finally had a lightbulb moment and yelled “OH HES A TRANS BOY. HE JUST. HE JUST LOOKS LIKE A TBOY”. I trust his judgement. Takes one to know one. Also just looking at how Mike dressed in the movie I just know he had several disphoria hoodies ready to go. His power is being sad and trying his best to be a good older brother. Give him a medal.
Michael Afton Propaganda-
"you cant just have an irreversible process happen to you that makes you see yourself as some sort of monster without being a trans allegory sorry"
Pollrunner: His entire life and arguably most defining touch on the whole series is cast in the shadow of his father. The actor who voiced him in the like seven lines he has in the games intentionally chose to make Michael's voice quieter and softer and lacking William Afton's signature hard rasp. It's implied and a personal headcanon that the character Old Man Consequences, one of the kindest and most straightforward characters in FNaF and the few who cannot and does not actually kill the player, is actually Michael. Canonically according to the logbooks he's a wonderful artist, a complete snarky bitch when he's nervous and he stims. He has just enough characterization to have concrete facts about but is largely a mystery to us and I think that's pretty swaggy.
