ok so now that finnster's come out as genderfluid and started taking hrt can we stop trying to force people to choose labels and define their identity. everyone's always talking about support for queer people with unconventional presentations and identities but when someone's not sure about what their gender identity actually is they get criticized for it. finn said in his video that part of the reason why he took so long with coming out was because he wasn't sure what label actually applied to him (and he still isn't even sure if genderfluid feels like the right label for him) and the debate surrounding it was making him uncomfortable. which kind of sucks tbh. idk i dont like how much identity policing ive seen around them it feels like people just aren't comfortable with 'weird' gender presentation

Not quite sure how to properly articulate this, but I really hate the term "TIRF". The only way to call such an ideology "trans inclusive" would be to consider trans women the only trans people. TIRFs are extremely exclusionary towards transmascs and honestly towards any nonbinary (or even other trans women) person that doesn't match their standards of "close enough" to a passing, feminine trans woman. The entire ideology is based on denying trans men's experiences and oppression.

It is not trans inclusive and never was. Calling it that is a slap in the face to transmascs.

it just kills me that a movement that has been so thoroughly (and justly) associated with White Feminism was built off the work of these brilliant black feminists with every intent to be intersectional in theory. but in practice it only created space for white women and actively alienated nonwhite women ESPECIALLY if they spoke up about it. the fact that the sistah grrrl riots even had to be created by and for black women because they were so alienated both from the general white male population of hardcore/punk spaces AND the riot grrrl spaces made in response makes me crazy!!!

riot grrrl did a lot in terms of making feminist education and art more accessible to young women and teaching young women how to organize for their rights but in terms of intersectionality riot grrrl failed big time. went the way of 2nd wave white feminism with little resistance. the road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that.

What a lot of people don't understand is that "Pro-kink people don't have to field questions about whether they're supportive of pedophiles" is not, in fact, some kind of veiled pro-pedophilia statement!
