I judged lust in the direction of toy sitting, not sex and judged furriness using an expanded application of Patricia Taxxon's definition in "On the Ethics of Boinking Animal People".

tbh mainline furriness is something else i don't really "get" even intellectually. the closest i get is "cat ears are a cute accessory" and "maybe it would be hot for mlp characters to eat/crush toys." but the appeal of actually fully being a non-human animal continues to elude me.

Non-exhaustive list of things that seem to be really popular online, or at least in "extremely online" circles, or at least... if not popular per se, of widely understood appeal. First of all is this spurious idea that because sex is the status quo, it is entirely free of environmental externalities. Do you think when people "lose" their virginity, it just goes away? Virginity is a 13x more potent greenhouse gas than methane! There has been some interesting development into virginity scrubbers but they are mostly curiosities at this point and simply aren't efficient or scalable. We have to reduce emissions. Keep it in the flesh where it belongs.

like i am going to be real. much of the impetus for this is i am dealing with vague health problems which i think are caused by my immediate environment and i can't afford to move or fix it and the health problems are too disabling to bootstraps out of that even if bootstrapsing was viable more generally. much would be fixed if i was living with someone who was actually on my side and was willing to foster an environment i can actually operate in. much would be fixed if i could be on someone's insurance plan and they could come with me to make doctors take me seriously. i would be able to be more useful with acknowledgement that i have limitations and those limitations can fluctuate.

nobody in my life fits these criteria. i can only sort of vaguely hope for a savior. but the nature of the everything is i am so exhausted that i can barely do partial basic personal maintenance, never mind employment, never mind the impressing people song and dance, never mind doing anything consistently. i'm in contact with relatives and they are helping. but they are, frankly, slow-moving and unable to help directly with the biggest problems.

when you're ace you don't get some magic secret activity that is as enjoyable as sex. the expected positive value of all your relationships just has its biggest contributor removed but they aren't actually any less work.

i cannot get inside the mindset of someone who thinks "let the most boring person on earth's preferences completely dictate who you are in exchange for an the equivalent of an above-average masturbation session every few days" but still doing that when you're incapable of getting the value out of it is just, like, an objectively stupid decision.
