Teaching methods on Kamino change drastically after the Jedi Order starts to supervise the clones' training, which leads to a sort of generational/cultural shift: Clones of the first generation were exposed to considerably more brutal conditioning methods and objectification in their training than clones that would finish their training during the war.
Additionally, the Jedi encourage clone cadets to embrace, value, and insist on their self-worth, as demonstrated by, for example, Yoda and Plo Koon in the early episodes.
Hence, we can observe this stark contrast between Rex and Fives when confronted with a situation that requires them to stand up for themselves, as most prominently exemplified during the Umbara Arc.
Throughout the show we see multiple instances of Rex's struggle with prioritizing his loyalty for the Republic over his and his brothers' needs, while Fives is willing to die for what he believes is right.
Rex's individuality seems more defined by external means, constructed through his (forced) service as an extension of the Republic. Fives's individuality seems more defined by intrinsic means, constructed through his (forced) service as an addition to the Republic.
I like the idea that this difference between Rex and Fives might reflect (it's just me speculating) the effect of the Jedis' philosophy and influence on the clones' training.

We all like us some good Coruscant Guard whump where they’re abused by the Senate and the ppl and their brothers fighting on the front, but can I get epic blackmailer Fox? The guards are treated like furniture by a lot of the senate; imagine all the secrets and scandals they might here!
Really, let Fox blackmail the Senate into giving him and his brothers (even the jackass ones) rights as sentients. And then let him nap

Yes please! I'd love to be tagged in that! Thank you for taking the time to make a break down.
Grand Army of the Republic Structure
So, looking at how the GAR is structured, there would be about 512 battalions total throughout all 10 system armies. (I can go into that later)
We know of (canon) 15.
Let me know if I missed any, here's the list:
21st Nova corp (wait, is that a battalion or a Corp in the structure? idk.) led by Ki-Adi-Mundi and CC Bacara
13th (the Iron Battalion) led by Jaro Tapal and Cal Kestis
41st Scout let by Luminara and/or Yoda, and CC Gree
104th (The Wolfpack) led by Plo Koon and CC Wolffe
187th led by Mace Windu and CC Ponds (I thought they were the 91st?)
612th led by Polla Royal and CC Granch (I'm assuming that's a CC)
Combat Engineer (I don't know either) let by Sergeant Gaffa
212th led by Kenobi and CC Cody
501st led by Skywalker, CT Rex, and Ahsoka Tano
332nd, which is an off shoot of the 501st, lead by CC Rex and Tano
(Carnivore is also a sub group of 501st, but I'm unsure if it is big enough to count as it's own battalion)
442nd, also led by Plo Koon at some point, and CC Verd
327th lead by Aayla Secura and CC Bly
184th led by Jor Aerith and CC Crane (again, guessing if a CC)
Rancor Battalion, lead by Shaak Ti and the Rancor ARC CCs
Coruscant Guard, which has no Jedi and is led mainly by CC Fox
Honorary member, but technically part of 212th, is Clone Force 99, lead by CT Hunter.
So that's roughly 15. Out of 512.
Good thing we fans like to make OC clones.
Also, I AM thinking about making a color chart for known battalions. And since there are so few, including those of OC made battalions too.
If anyone is interested.
Here's the link to the post that started this.

Oh my goodness, this is so cool.
I read it all, but I might have to go over it again and make notes and... *gleeful squeal*
Personal research is important, and I will try to do some more of that. But it's hard to find good sources.
(There's already a 16th battalion? Aw man, I had my OCs go under that name, as a medical focused group)

I mean, 'growth' and 'aging' are two different things. So it makes sense it would work that way.
I like to pretend that when the clone’s bodies reach maturity (that would be what, physically 25?) the growth hormone stops over-producing and slows to a normal rate so they age normally from then on.

TBB Season 3 Ep 6 & 7 spoilers

I realized something last night while rewatching Ep 6
Tumblr media
Howzer’s helmet only has the two strips now opposed to his original helmet that was covered in teal:
Tumblr media
In the episodes he asks Crosshair if he remembers him and his squad from Ryloth, that the empire killed them or took them to Tantis and he was obviously super pissed about it (rightfully so). The two strips has traditionally been a way for Mandalorians and later clone troopers to honor their fallen vode. Gree has his hair shaved in the two strips and Echo had two stripes on his helmet for domino squad before the Citadel.
I think this is Howzer’s way of remembering and honoring those in his squad that have fallen or been lost.

So my favorite Star Wars AU is when the Clones are just a little more than human, in the other worldly sense.
Like, yeah, Anakin's half force, but everyone who goes through ARC training can't die and no one's really sure why, but some asshole just shot Fives in the temple and all it did was make him mad.
And sure, Mace can see shatterpoints, but Commander Fox has eyes the color of freshly spilled blood and once threw a man threw three durasteel walls.
And maybe Obi-Wan is the consummate Jedi, but he's pretty sure he just saw Tup reach through a man, but when he questions Cody about it there's something eerie and ancient in his gaze that Obi-Wan doesn't want to question.

Listen.
Fives may be flirty, even borderline cocky, but when it's just the two of you he gets nervous. Especially if he really likes you, he starts second guessing himself.
Like the first time he takes you to the 501st barracks. He was so confident at 79s when he was bragging about the barracks having the best view of Coruscant, but now you're both waiting for the elevator and the silence is getting to him. Are you bored? Is he boring? Are you regretting going out with him? So he says the first thing that comes to mind.
"You know, I could get kicked out of the GAR for this."
If that was supposed to fill the awkward silence, it only makes it worse. You're staring at him with wide eyes like, "What?" Did he really just say that?
Did I really just say that?
And he realizes he might have just fucked up so he really starts to word vomit. Back-tracking and explaining how it's not really a big deal that you're here, but it's technically a rule they're expected to follow ("or at least that's what my brother Dogma says. But he also says we have a curfew. Allegedly. Who knows, ya know? I think Dogma just doesn't know how to have fun..."). And then he's freaking out because why the fuck he is going on about Dogma of all people, so he starts rambling even more about his brothers and that you don't really have anything to worry about because the only people down here are his brothers and none of them are going to snitch on him and --
I don't know.
I just like the idea of Fives being nervous around someone he likes.

You wouldn't happen to have an extensive layout dissection of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant? Or even a list of all notable and obscure sections of the Jedi Temple? OR or even labelled areas that are public and reserved for only temple residents. Both from canon and legends, please and thank you!!!
The best I managed to find comes from Star Wars Complete Locations - you may check out the whole archived version here. The “zoom in” option is pretty good for reading details. Below the pages (I suppose the best is to open them in new tab for better reading):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for the list of locations, I recommend wookiepedia's list. Plenty of data, both for Legends and New Canon.
Additional sources worth to check out:
Jedi Temple Locations & Jedi Temple History - both published as official material on star wars.com in regard to prequels and New Canon sources. Pictures and references to various places inside Temple.
Star Wars.com's The Clone Wars episode guide + videoclips from the series, like
A) Jedi Archives Tour (the entrance to one of the most restricted areas of the temple: The Holocron Vault).
B) Layout of Jedi Temple Library (source)
Tumblr media
C) Jedi Temple funeral room + environment illustration by Tara Rueping (source)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Old Data Bank for Jedi Temple
HoloNews mentioning "a mob of 20 university students attempted to infiltrate the Jedi Temple" and "managing to get as far as the Second Atrium Lobby"
Star Wars Battlefront (2) game wiki provides some map and location description
Tumblr media
and if you have time (and patience) you can watch gameplay from 501st Legion's mission in Jedi Temple for reference, like this one
youtube
The wookiepedia's articles should give enough good idea of the rooms, their location and functions, but I'm adding a few source pages:
STAR WARS: FACT FILES #36 provides a lot informations what and where was inside the Temple and some general data about visitors, security, Grand Balcony, Grand Corridor & Towers. Not all is super specific, but worth checking out for sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia mentions this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and for Jedi Temple entry:
Tumblr media
As for the named locations that are public or reserved for only temple residents, there is definitely a division like that, however I'm not sure if this issue was very well explained. The source gives us some ideas, like for example, Jedi Archives have data accessible only for Jedi with rank of Master or higher (thus most likely separated areas to study). At the same time, Fact Files #25 says that Jedi Archives offers an "excellent resources to researchers, including star-map hologram consoles", but also an access to entire scientific and historical knowledge of the Republic
Tumblr media
so non-Jedi were allowed to use Jedi Library/Archives for their own research and work-related needs. We also must remember that the Jedi Order had various scientific branches, including archaeology, exploring unknown regions, and medicine, so logically thinking Jedi worked with other, non-Jedi specialists of many fields.
We also know from various sources, that politicians and important guests were invited for various occasions. We could see in Republic comics series that Bail Organa, Mon Mothma and senator Ask Aak were allowed to listen to Jedi reporting before High Council about his last battle
Tumblr media
or attending Jedi Funeral like Duchess Satine and Padme Amidala did for the (fake) Obi-Wan's one or just visiting as a friend/comrade-in-arm
Tumblr media
I would need to make more research about this issue as there is plenty tie-in material to Jedi Temple on Coruscant that would take a lot time to study, but at this moment, I think the best is assume how far a non-Jedi may walk into Temple will depend greatly who is that person and what is nature of their business with Jedi.
At the same time, Purge: Seconds to Die has this line "Clone Troopers? This deep in the Temple? Not permitted."
Tumblr media
The Jedi was in Archives herself, so it is worth to take into account that clones could have more limited access to Temple than the average guest before war did. At the same time, clone troopers could make a report before Yoda and Mace Windu/High Council, as was presented by Star Wars Tales (Honor Bound):
Tumblr media
so it is not like they were outright forbidden to enter the temple either.
Hope it will help!

Love the idea of collective Jedi parenting. Like technically I only have one padawan but my friends' padawans are also coincidentally my padawans. My padawan’s friends are also my padawans. This padawan who got separated from their master? My padawan today. This other padawan who needs to learn to pilot but their master is afraid of flying? Now my padawan twice a week.
