"I'll still be waiting" - Asra x reader
||Reblogs are welcome!||
||Note: you will be addressed as "you" the whole time without mention of any gender specifications.||
Special lines
+ "I'll still be waiting"
+ only readers pov
+ Mc from The arcana is included-
+ and its not you! (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞
+ lost memories
+ death
+ a lot of angst
"I'll still be waiting!" You exclaimed to the little boy as he waved back at you with a huge smile, yelling "bye-bye!"- not once stopping his speeding pace towards the forest. Asra- only seven years old- had been a mischievous child. Always discovering ways to uncover trouble, even in the most unpredictable situations. But that's something you liked about him. Even if he was basically a "trouble-causing orphan peasant" as your parents put it and that caused conflict between your relationship with them, not that you cared to begin with." spending so much time with that brat will ruin our reputation" they remarked at the dinner table. "you have to make new friends that won't wound your image as our child." they declared another day at a gathering amongst other wealthy families. But you didn't heed, nor did you ever bring it up to Asra- too engaged in listening to him gush about how he outsmarted the count yet again.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
"I'll still be waiting." You said with a polite smile as he wandered out of sight, you had more responsibilities now at the age of 14. This would soon take a heavy toll on the meager time available to spend with Asra, but he was determined to find a way for you two to unwind and have fun. Whether he had to magic his way in, which could mean literal, figurative or even both at the same time.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
"I'll still be waiting..." You spoke to him as you watched the now seventeen-year-old grin back, dramatically tipping his mask as if it were a hat and slipping through the crowd of people. He had been dead set on selling masks for the masquerade. One he had created for you as a souvenir of sorts rested on your silky bed. The way it was formulated fit your features very well.
He had forever been an imaginative and skillful person and this wasn't a new revelation to you. You were convinced he would trade all his masks within a few twinklings and bounce back with his reward and a bag of pumpkin bread as he talked about everything that happened, the emotion radiating from him as his eyes sparkled every time he had told a tale.
Waiting was all that occurred that day, as you had refused to attend the masquerade- much to your parent's displeasure and the scolding and lecture you'd receive after they had returned. The possibility of punishment was just as high too.
"but it was worth it" you thought as you visualized his violet eyes glimmering with thrill as he picks at his fluffy white hair, the moonlight illuminating his golden-brown skin as he sat on your windowsill, speaking in a hushed tone as to not alert your parents. The thought of just such a simple situation left you giddy as a warm feeling coursed through your stomach. Butterflies.
Non of that actually happening, as you lingered by the windowsill, counting stars then switching to poking at the your lavender coloured crystal hanging on the black lace around your neck. One similar to his blue one he always wore. He had given it to you once as a gift. It was one of the main causes of the way you felt towards the oblivious magician. Receiving a gift randomly, without the reason of a celebration does that to a person.
Unbeknown to you, he had just been aqcuanted with another magician. One he had grown a liking to at first glance.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
"I'll still be waiting..." You flashed a quick smile, a bittersweet feeling welling up in you as you waved back at not just Asra, but his new companion this time. They looked adorable together... This had been quite an unexpected surprise the first time you heard about it. Asra ran back to you as you welcomed him with the usual polite smile- yet more natural than the ones anyone else receives.
The first thing he mentioned was how he had come upon someone who had owned a magic shop, which was nice- delightful even. He was finally branching out and making more genuine friends other than you and Muriel, which you were also acquainted with.
This was all terrific until you caught a glimpse of how he glowed brighter when he was talking about mc, how a darker shade of golden brown tinted his cheeks as he brought up their response to something he had said that night. He was... Quite fond of them wasn't he...
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
"...I'll still be waiting" you muttered to yourself, understanding full well he hadn't given attention to your reply as he scurried out of the library- heading to another. He had confessed to you about mc's unfortunate passing a few weeks ago because of the plague and you had comforted him to your best abilities. Not familiar with death of someone you cared about to begin with just yet.
Countless nights you had stayed over at the shop as you let him bawl his eyes out on your shoulder, wiping his tears away as he had cried himself to sleep. This had gotten you punished numerous times but, "Asra deserves better..." You thought as you recalled his tearful Amethyst shaded eyes.
It had become a routine for him to suffer like this. Moving around from library to library, searching for books he refused to reveal to you and to always end with his head on your lap as you ran your fingers through his soft hair, tear-stained face now dry as you worked on gently wiping them away.
This caused your heart to ache as your chest felt tighter every time you had witnessed this. He was depressed. Broken even. You didn't like seeing him like this. He deserved better. He had the right to happiness, and you could barely do anything about it.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
This time you did not say anything as you observed him leaving, having a voyage of your own. Discovering what he had been up to was not a troublesome thing as you were somewhat gifted when it came to things like this and picked up and pieced together things almost instantly, quicker than any typical individual could. He was setting in motion, a ritual of sorts. Looking into Lucio was even simpler as you easily found out most of the rules like how he needed 22 willing people and only had...five...
A direct approach to something this complicated was not an option as this evolved a lot of obvious change and conflict in the future and the only thing left to do was help indirectly. But you'd do anything to catch a glimpse of him smiling and recalling something he and mc had done together while you listened in silence just one more time. As bittersweet as those memories still are for you- he was happy. "And that's all that matters"
"Pomegranate juice..." You mumbled, a tired smile slowly growing as you silently shook your head at the thought, inspecting the huge wine decanter further. Your reflection caught your attention as you looked into the glass. You appeared tired. Dark circles under your eyes and hair between the lines of disheveled and decent.
You had drawn a syringe out of your sleeve and over Asra's glass as you watched it dribble into it. The lavender- yet water-like liquid mixes with the pomegranate juice.
Already feeling more strain on your limbs, you sauntered out of the room in a involuntarily slow pace. He had found trouble yet again, but you'd be always there for him, watching his back from afar. After all, he was worth it.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
"I'll still be waiting." You grimaced as you waved his worried glance off, closing the window of your bedroom as a coughing fit took over you. You had been intentionally keeping distance from anyone at all, much to the maids, especially Asra's concern. It could not be helped as they would know something they shouldn't know.
About three days ago he come back to you with a new circumstance. One you understood more about than he did but you feigned ignorance nonetheless. Mc was back in Asra's life and he was feeling much more optimistic. Somewhat at least. Knowing a plenty about the ritual, you had taken account to the memory loss fraction. He didn't remember much himself but mc was way worse.
Not as disastrous as they could've been, the light-purple liquid had been a tremendous undetected help on their portion. This enabled mc to have a better connection to their assigned Arcana Card. The fool. This also assisted them further as they now could not be threatened by the same menace twice in a lifetime.
This was not a regular element to hand out causally, as it had taken an immense toll in the core of your mystic abilities and soon, your body. As days pushed by, you showed up to be even more sickly, gazing up at the stars with a light smile as you reflected on how Asra was doing at the moment.
"He wasn't crying anymore" you muttered to yourself with a bitter laugh as you ran your hand through your disheveled hair. Silence soon came, drowning your thoughts as you perched at the vacant terrace in a lull silence.
Closing your eyes, the wind gently brushed against your face as you listened to the trees brush up against each other, calmness being disturbed as you started desperately panting for air and coughing more violently from time to time.
There was a little secret you had never confessed to anyone just yet though, not your parents, the few friends you had, or even Asra himself.
The secret was...You were slowly dying thanks to your little concealed stunt.
A pained smile was all you could muster as the moonlight illuminated across your face, wind gently shifting trees around. Weak ends of your clothing moving along at the peaceful pace.
It felt pleasant to you, unaware of how this would be your last night on the terrace, last night gazing at the stars, last night worrying about him.
Last night being alive.
You'd always be there for him though, after everything that had happened, nothing changed as the same line was the last line you'd ever recite.
"...I'll still be waiting..."

"it's always you getting hurt, idiot..."
The Arcana Group Snippet
Tumblr media
POV : You usually get random scars and stuff and you don't really know where they come from to begin with (you're just clumsy like that I guess XD)
And one day you walk in and casually sit down next to your RO and do what you usually do (be it reading/start sketching/zone out/ect..) but the issue is, you're hurt and you either don't notice or don't give a damn. Hurt like a god damn stab wound and you still don't mind it somehow. Don't ask, ion know.
||Note: you will be addressed as "you" the whole time without mention of any gender specifications.||
|| Reblogs are welcome! ||
Special lines
Asra - "that's cuz it's bad!"
Portia - "it's you dummy! How'd you get hurt so bad!?"
Lucio - "LOOK AT MINE"-
Julian - "I'll be taking a look at scar number 947 for this year- and yes I had been keeping tally, love"
Muriel - "you got hurt again..."
Nadia - "And would that by any chance be anything medical-related?"
Valdemar - "...you honestly are foolish."

Asra snippet
First thought would be about you ATM. The normality would still be there though as living together in the magic shop wasn't simple to begin with. Both of you have memorized each other's mannerisms at this point but this does not mean Asra is any less worried.
'Where?' Faust whispered to the magician as she poked and prodded at asra for an answer. One he did not have.
"I'm not sure." He admitted, sending looks at the door every few minutes. Faust's uneasiness was making him uneasy too...
'Look?'
He could go out to look for you but you both have had a conversation about how you could handle yourself and didn't need him babying you.
And he was going to respect that.
The shops bell began to ring. The one right above the door that signaled a customer has entered. Glancing once at the door, he started to calm down only to do a double take at your appearance.
"That's- are you alright?" He asked, eyes dead set on how your shirt's shade was getting darker around your midsection.
"Huh? Oh this?" You nonchalantly asked, raising your clothing up a bit to see it better for yourself. Something you haven't thought of doing. "Ah, that. Pftt, it looks bad right?"-
"that's cuz it is bad!"
'Bad!'
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉
Portia snippet
I would like to think Portia is the type to recognize stuff like self care and when it's needed only when it applies to others like the one where I wrote this lil babe. She's used to having things resulting from hard work as a normal thing but when it comes to a little scar on someone she cares for- mhm. You guessed it.
Taking a seat in your usual chair, you proceeded to loosen up, zoning out as your gaze lingered on the ceiling.
Was that small crack near the left corner of the room always there?
A sharp gasp earned your attention instantly as you hastily scanned the area before spotting Portia's concerned watch, making you concerned in return.
"Woah, are you alright?" You questioned as you checked for any clues of injury on the ginger before getting a flick across your forehead. "It's you, dummy! How'd you get hurt so bad?" She'd worriedly scold you as she moved to patch you up.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉
Lucio's snippet
Honestly been mentally laughing at this while writing the other two cuz I know damn well-
The sound of footsteps drew closer to Lucio as he sat with his two dogs, Mercedes and Melchior, messing around with them for a bit.
You took a seat somewhat near them as you pulled out a chocolate bar, minding your own business as you watched the two dogs interact as usual.
Sensing your presence, the blond had peered over, taking note of the fresh scar on your upper arm.
"you had a fight ey? Nice scar there" He casually asked before stars began forming in his eyes as he launched to exhibit his scars too with a sudden burst of excitement "LOOK AT MINE"-
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉
Julian's snippet
I'd imagine him as being used to seeing scars and stuff and as much as he worries (which will be a LOT) he'll almost probably always be ready XD
Slipping through the door, you yawned as you began stretching before wincing. One peek at your stomach was enough to know the cause of the pain.
'....Anyways' you shrugged it off as you began to walk towards the kitchen to rummage through the fridge only to be lightly yanked back by your color.
"Let's take a quick seat right here" he began as he steered you towards a spot next to the table where the first aid kit sat as he continued "and I'll be taking a look at scar number 947 for this year- and yes I had been keeping tally, love"
The notebook waved Infront of your vision was enough proof to solidify that last statement.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉
Muriel's snippet
Please don't even do this to Muriel, he's too precious for this ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽
When I say he would be concerned. Seeing people hurt isn't his fortae to begin with because of his experience from his past but someone he loves? He'd almost have a heart attack.
Waltzing into the cabin where Inanna had been laying, you found an empty spot on the couch and plopped down, a sigh escaping you as you made eye contact with the adorable wolf. You smiled at her and gave her a light wave but instead of trotting towards you like she often did, she had bolted out of the room after a prolonged staredown.
Not bothering to linger on it for too long, you shifted your focus to the anklet Muriel had gifted you a while back. It was simple enough for it to be nongender specified and still looked elegant on your skin even though it wasn't expensive and was handmade.
You still recalled how he had flushed profusely the first week he had shown it to you as you would not shut up about it. Mostly intentionally. He was pretty amusing to mess with.
A sudden burst of footsteps had you alert as you watched the door spurt open and Muriel come speeding in, Inanna right behind him.
"you got hurt again..." This was a statement more than an answer as he took note of your forehead, his face scrunched as his usual uneasy pout began to form as he scrambled to help as much as he could.
Inanna seemed to have ratted you out.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉
Nadia's snippet
Nadia would- in my imagination- be that one civil yet mom-like individual in the group lol. She'd be concerned shitless but she'd still be able to keep a clear head even if you were... As dululu as not noticing a huge and painful gash >:(
Nadia sighed in relief as she walked into your shared private courters. Dealing with so many different duties was still difficult no matter how many years she was putting up with it. She often had you as a support recharger as your presence alone had made her ecstatic enough. So yay for that.
Speaking of you, where had you been the whole evening? She had wondered where you had been. You'd often run off but always appeared just before eight and it was way past that.
Settling at the edge of her bed, she had looked out the balcony windows at the dark sky. She hoped you were okay.
As if on cue you had clumsily Stumbled into the room. Full grin directed at the beautiful woman as you lightly apologized before gesturing at the bag of food in your hand "I got The Good Stuff"
"The... Good stuff..." She began, ignoring the delicious aroma coming from the packaging and focusing on the wound on your thigh. "And would that by any chance be anything medical-related?"
This seemed to make you laugh as you raised a perplexed eyebrow at her "why would I buy medicine. I'm not sick."
"if..." She began, soon losing hope of trying to reason. She learned off how you were and she was still surprised at how you seemed to baffle her nonetheless. Shaking her head as she attempted- and failed miserably- to hold back her fond smile, Nadia began tapping at the spot next to her, signaling for you to take the spot. "Have a seat here and I'll take a look at it myself."
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉
BONUS!
Valdemar's snippet
Yes. Valdemar. Fight me XD
This is quite a tricky one. I'd guess Valdemar would have to get used to you really well in order to have strong feelings towards you. Strong feelings such as heavy concern, enough to overpower their scientific urge to experiment with anything.
Tapping their tool on the freshly deceased palm-sized creature, Valdemar would sigh in frustration as they pushed the whole tray away altogether.
What was going on? This was strangely unusual for them. All the sadistic enthusiasm for experimenting with an interesting subject gone just with one thought overpowering them.
Where exactly were you? Last they heard was how you bragged about learning of a place that grew Kodama's. A specific and rare soul tree they lacked for a side venture and how you would be able to get it, even if the danger was cessation × a billion.
They had hoped that you had been jesting as the ticking clock detracted them. A reminder of how many seconds had passed since they last saw you.
A click on the door had prompted Valdemar to swerve around and see who walked into their private courters and low and behold, it was you with your adorable grin again.
"guess who found your kokoma'ams~" you slurred the sentence out unnecessarily while you dangled the packaged plant as you neared closer.
It was only when you came close enough that you took note of Valdemar facepalming.
"...you honestly are foolish." They began, ignoring the strange pace in their heart as you walked closer. You always made them feel a particular way and they could not recognize why or what it was, to begin with.
It didn't take long for them to notice the slash at your neck and another near your wrist.
"foolish?" You feigned shock as you set the package on the table and leaning on it for light support before continuing "i'm quite smart if you must know"
Rolling their eyes at your retort, they had begun to move you towards a chair, hauling their medical equipment with them. Sending a short questioning look at you, a smile began to creep up their lips as they whispered to no one in particular "How in the world did you manage to stay alive for this long?"
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉

"Montag Morgasson!" The woman yelled as she watched the boy startle with a surprise. "M-momma!" He replied, flashing an anxious smile at her in hopes that she would forget about catching him messing with the stables, something that was not working at all.
"What are you doing playing there? You had better not opened the threshold."
"I wasn't! I swear!" He denied, the nervous smile and uneasy hands didn't help one bit. At least he had finished locking up.
Shaking her head at her sons horrible lying, she dragged him by his arm- making sure to not make it as though it hurt, but stern nonetheless.
"You'll be helping ueana with the planting today."
"Ugh, ueana can hedge alone! That's boring." He whined, receiving a harsh glare from the older blonde. "You don't get a say in that. You need to do something! I didn't raise a snotnosed kid to just play around! Teenagers your age had already hunted at least one bunny."
"I don't want to hunt bunnies!" He yelled back, snatching his arm from Morga's distracted loose grasp. "I'm going to hunt something far bigger and nastier and you'll see who's snotnosed!"
And with that, he ran off- straight for the outside gates as tears blurred his silver eyes.
The woman tsked, thinking to follow him but deciding not to. She knew she was often too easy on the boy.
"He'll have to grow up at some point..." Ueana muttered next to her, resting a hand on her shoulder with a firm squeeze before setting off to their garden work, focus easily shifting to the nurtured plants.

"I'll find a furious beast and kill it!" He declared, still grumpy about his discussion with his mother. It seemed to hit a soft spot.
"Then she'll realize I should be hunting instead of working on whimsy little weeds."
Pouting to himself, Lucio kept on walking. Hoping to find a beast enormous enough it impress Morga and everyone back at home. What type of varmint didn't matter as he scouted the set. Looking for any creature that he might come across.
Suddenly a thought crosses his mind.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘭.
Which leads to another.
𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵?
"Yeah!" He exclaimed, thinking about how he's such a genius. "My soul buddy will think I'm remarkable!"
Fishing out the stone from his pocket, he opens his palm to peer down at it. The gem that has been polished but not faceted.
In the middle of the knot glinted a black cabochon star sapphire and around the winding arms of the metal was a circle encrusted with hundreds of tiny diamonds that shimmered in the light.
It was beautiful. 'Just like the owner of the other stone, I bet' he cheesily grinned to himself. He had no clue what his "soul buddy" looked like but he didn't need to. He was already too fond of them.
Already itching for the attention and the chance to impress his partner, he brings it near to his one eye before he launches at slashing at vines in his way and a couple of branches with extraneous effort than when he first began.
"See here! I'm readying myself for the battle of the century! You'll be able to watch, first hand how The Great Warrior of southern tribe destroys a vile beast!" He shamelessly boasts, hoping you can at least hear him.
What most certainly hears him as bright as day though is a large figure in the distance, nudging away from sleep, one eye opens as it watches Lucio walk past- the other slit eye forever shut...

"𝚜𝚎𝚎 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎! 𝚒'𝚖 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚢𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚏 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚢!"
you suddenly hear Lucio, before seeing what he was doing. Slashing fruitlessly at a few weak vines and somehow he still fails to pare it down with one swing.
Huffing in amusement, you zone out of your discussion with the individual in front of you as you give Lucio all your focus. His bragging- at first came across as irksome in a way but somewhere down the line, turned into amusement.
Suddenly the vision halts, the whiplash resulting in you blinking away the last bits of the illusion.
'he must have dropped the stone.' you conclude. This was something that wasn't completely impossible with his clumsiness, but that didn't disperse the unpleasant suspicion creeping up inside you.
Muffled voices break you out of your thoughts as you recognize the room you are in, and the snarky noblewoman sitting before you, another timid old man right behind her who regards you with an insecure smile.
'oh, right. The meeting with the rival tribe is still in place. One blunder in my scheme and it will be all for nothing. I should concentrate...'

Pulling the crystal away from his eye, Lucio stilled as he glued his eyes on the beast lurking between the trees. Ebony fur mixing perfectly with the dim view of the forest.
Gulping in nervousness, the boy slowly backed away. Not betting on his life to take his eyes off the beast.
Why was it so huge? So intimidating?
This is not supposed to happen. This never happens in tails. The beast should be easy enough to slay for a hero without a sweat.
The beast slinks towards the frozen boy before letting out a deafening wail. Anger lacing it's tone perfectly causing vibrations of fear to course down Lucio's body before be decided on what to do.
He had to run.
Running with as much speed as he could muster, tears begin to well up around his eyes, an uncomfortable feeling at the bottom of his throat as his fingers begin to shake.
He was going to die.
Another roar sounded right behind him as his eyes desperately searched for something.
Anything.
And there it was.
A small cave entrance, just a few strides away. Not having enough time to examine if he could fit, the blond dove in headfirst just as the beast bashes on the opening. It was too big to chase after him in the cave.
The bashes were violent enough to cause vibrations as Lucio's breath hitched, both eyes pined on the entrance as the monster's silhouette appeared and disappeared.
Tears began flooding from his wide grey eyes as he helplessly gawked at the impatient beast. Hand clenching the little crystal still in his grasp.
What was he trying to do? A hero? What kind of hero cowers inside a small den and bawls their eyes out?
All this just to impress his soulmate. His soulmate who probably- no, certainly thought he was a wimp now.
He wasn't good at this.
The villagers were right.
Ueana was right.
Morga was right.
He wasn't good at this.

Focusing on what the head leader of the opposition, Zayir Lang, proved to be quite hard as yet another strong yet vague feeling creeped out from the jewel around your wrist.
It doesn't take long for you to figure out what this feeling was.
Anxiety, fear and most importantly disappointment mixed with distress.
What exactly happened to him? Your thoughts drifted off to the earlier disruption.
"𝚜𝚎𝚎 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎! 𝚒'𝚖 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚢𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚏 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚢!"
'he went hunting or something...' you concluded as concern for the unusual fellow devoured you up like a worried parent. You just had to know what happened.
"Excuse me for a sec, I'll return in a bit. Something very important emerged." You cut Zayir off as you stood up from your seat on the cushion flat against the well-decked floors of your village's well-made settlement. All are used from the finest oak wood from across the world. Your people prided themselves on high-quality and beautiful structures and sights.
This seemed to always fascinate travelers and merchants as they always gushes about the exotic sights the village proudly displayed. This could not be said the same for Zayir as she impatiently looked up at you with a distainful frown.
You were pretty sure her beady eyes could obsesse over your floors and the little cushion her butt had been abusing.
Huh...
It seems like you guessed wrong.
"I see this meeting isn't first priority for the mighty leader of Asronia. Expected better from you, Ruler." She sneered, her eyes hard yet a little vulnerable. This was something only visible to you as you were aware of the cause of it.
You had refused a marriage proposal.
This all happened in private of course as you kindly dismissed her request. This did not mean her lineage she confided in to keep it private kept it private as they spread the word and later, the gossip mixed with your people too.
You had not expected it to hit this hard on the lady but as you stood before her, you were well aware of how much it had gotten to her head.
That did not excuse her from announcing a war upon your people though, and you were not going soft on her in any way.
"Asronia's alliance would be more beneficial to you than I. I'd watch the way you address this matter if I were you. After all, more alliances are available and...the war can continue by my command..." You bluffed, an empty threat lacing your words like venomous snakes on a shadow. Not whole but it's shade clearly dark.
Her silence and lack of eye contact were enough of confirmation to you that you had pulled off the slight white lie. She came off dumbstruck as she bite her tongue. Making an effort to not snap at her adviser as he ushered her to keep hush, sweat beating down his forehead as he sent apologetic smiles your way.
It seemed you had deceived him too.
With newfound assurance, you proceeded to heave open the doors and walk out after saying "After all, you wouldn't want the alliance to also be rejected, no?"

Lucio was still curled up, trying his best to ignore the creature tormenting him just outside the cave, trying it's best to go into the tiny hole.
A futile attempt from both accounts.
As his hopes of being alive were beginning to be drowned out by the loud, viscous banging, the gem in his palm started warming up.
"...what?.." he muttered as he peeked down at the little stone. They were... "My soulmate is responding!?" He called out in disbelief, quick to shoot up from his curled-up position only for his head to collide with the caves closed in ceiling.
He didn't mind the fresh bump forming as he listened in on the stone. All since he got it, it was him reaching out and he never any form of acknowledgment in return. The strange old lady could've easily conned him, now that he was thinking about it- but that didn't matter!
This little change was enough for him to forget about his impending death for just a moment.
"...𝚢𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎...𝚗𝚘𝚝...𝚊𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚍..." The jewel spoke, the voice slightly distorted but clear enough. "𝚈𝚘𝚞...𝚌𝚊𝚗..𝚍𝚘...𝚒𝚝!" It continued as a sharp realization settled in him.
"This voice...it's the magician!" He called out, a part of him mentally shushing the no longer frightening monster. It was making an annoying rukus and was making it troublesome to listen to the his "soul buddy".
"𝚈𝚘𝚞...𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍...𝚏𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝...𝚒𝚝"
"...I can?" He thought to himself, eyes set on the entrance of the cave. Could he really beat that varmint?
What was he thinking? Of course, he could! This was coming from you! A very powerful magician, in his mind. You could probably take on thousands of those beasts in one go. If you're telling him he can, then there is no doubt that he could, he's got to be!
⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯
𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓹𝓸𝓿
His thoughts were shifting through his stone, to yours. His loyalty and trust in you was already this high- even though he just met you and believes you with his life.
You didn't know what to do with this much emotions all of a sudden. After all, this much honesty was... foreign to you.
⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯
𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓰𝓪'𝓼 𝓹𝓸𝓿
Morga pushed through the trees, before settling in a spot, near the old beast tormenting her son. Her foolish son that was cowering in the cave like a coward.
She knew there was her and only her to criticize for this, as she had been babying him way past his deadlock duration. This lack of courage was not common in their clan, nor was it welcomed.
She knew what she had to do, one choice was to let him fight his own battle, face his tears himself in hopes that he would overcome them, and be worthy of being the Clan leader's son to the other clan members and himself.
The other. The one her motherly instincts was yearining for was to slaughter the vile abomination before it touched a single hair on her son's head.
And with that, she raised up from her camouflaged spot behind the trees. She had to assist her only son.
A familiar Southern clan roar sounded as the stomping of feet followed after. Quick to identify the sudden commotion, her pupils widened, her heart halting as she watched with disbelief.
Lucio was charging at the beast.
The animal startled as his once turned back shifted, adjusting to the oncoming threat.
Fear still coursing through lucio's vein's, he sprinted and stopped right infront of the beast, before inflicting a slash right across it's stomach.
The monster roared in pain as a spear plunged itself straight through its back and through its heart. Morga had killed it before it could her son.
That was enough for her. He had put thought into it and charged at the thing, fully aware that had he lost- he'd be dead and there would be no one to save him.
To say she was proud on him was an understatement.
The stoic woman took to her hinding spot once more, intent on not letting her son see her.
She was going to let him have this.
The boy in question gaped at the deceased threat as his hands trembled, heart raced fast and mouth dry. He had just slayed his first beast. And a feisty huge one at that.
Tears gathered around his eyes as a confident grin creeped on his face. He actually did it. He was right in trusting you.
Unaware of his mother's presence, Lucio looked up at the clouds. The wide smile never fading as he giddily brought the crystal up to his one eye before declaring what he always wanted to say.
"I'm going to be your knight in shining armor!"

"Entrance fool" pt1 - Lucio x you
Part two
||Note: you will be addressed as "you" the whole time without mention of any gender specifications.||

Special lines
+ "What's a knight without something of value to protect?"
+ energetic smoll lucio
+ also smoll y/n
+ soulmate talk
+ Clan leader reader (that rhymed-)
+ 'soulmate? What was that? A form of... Spiritual buddy?'
⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯
Walking through the busy people, lucio's eyes glistened as he neared the entrance to the forest which was situated far from where his clan had settled in. He was hoping to explore the forest, ignoring how the elders- his mom included- said he wasn't allowed to since he was still young.
Marching closer and closer to the exit, he noticed an old noblewoman hiding behind a tree trying to get his attention. Any normal person would think this was a very strange sight, but only one thing crossed his mind.
"it must be an adventure!" His naive mind concluded as he scurried towards the woman in need, puffing out his chest in pride as he spoke "the mighty knight is here to save the day!"
With a light laugh, the woman shook her head. "What's a knight without something of value to protect?"
"something of value? Fighting off others and finding treasure is enough!...right?" He asked in uncertainty. It was common and a great thing to be amazing at combat in his clans culture, more of winning fights than protecting.
"no, no, little one." She tsk'ed at him as she wagged her slender finger. "A Knight's perpose is to protect. Protect a special someone you value.....Do you maybe not have that someone?" She asked in fake innocence, a layer of mischief hiding behind her all too sweet eyes.
"n-no..." He slowly answered, pondering over what the strange old lady was saying. Special someone to protect? He didn't have anything like that at all. There weren't much of kids in his clan anyways, the small few being nothing but blurry figures he didn't really care much for. They weren't relevant.
Humming in satisfaction, a sharp grin spread across the woman's thin and chapped lips as she pulled out a small crystal from her sleeve. The size, small enough to be lifted with an index finger and thumb.
"with this though..." She paused, skilled eyes watching the boy who had been waiting in anticipation. Exactly what she wanted. "You'll be able to see through your soulmates eyes. The one you're supposed to protect."
"...m-my...soulmate?" He asked in confusion. What was that? A form of... Spiritual buddy?
As if reading his mind, the older lady sighed in exasperation at the little boy's lack of knowledge. Any form of decorame flying out the window. "It is the person you're meant to be with. Your other half, if you may. If you have it you'll be able to see through your soulmates eyes after a few tries and they will be able to do the same with yours but immediately. Got it?" The elder lady explained in a brisk tone as she impatiently waited for him to comprehend what she was saying.
The thought of having someone to protect was enough to seal the deal for him as his eyes lighted up and a huge naive grin spread across his childish face.
"Can I have it? I wanna use it! I swear, I'll give you anything you want!!" He enthusiastically begged, eyes glued on the crystal. He just had to have it.
"I'll give it to you..." She began, very happy with herself at manipulating lucio so easily. "But you'll give me something in return."
"what I want is, seven sheep's from your tribes stock."
'...seven sheep?' he thought to himself, slightly skeptical. The clan had been struggling with their food supplies for a while now and were trying to preserve what little they had left.
"I mean, you can say no. I'm not gonna force you..." She spoke, green eyes gleaming with manipulative intent. "But then...your poor soulmate will be sad and alone." A sad expression followed her words as she emphasized on the bad parts on saying no.
"I don't want that!" The little boy exclaimed, already attached to this person he had never met in his whole life. "Okay... I'll get you the sheep and you'll give me that fancy rock of yours! Deal?" He asked, extending his pinky finger.
With a disgusted sneer, the older woman extended hers. Letting Lucio wrap his with hers and shake it with enthusiasm before scurrying off on his mission, a light bounce on his steps and full of determination.
"The things I do..." She muttered, wiping her finger away with a huff as her body shifting into the shape of a little kid, your appearance very much younger than what you had used as a disguise a moment ago, before settling down and waiting for the little boy to do your dirty work.
With a huff, you had started working on a scroll in your hand. A letter of peace treaty of sorts. 20 sheep in exchange of peace for 40 months.
'That would be enough time to match up to the oppositions manpower.' you thought to yourself, eyebrow scrunched up in deep thought.
They had been relentless with their low sneak attacks and your clan wasn't doing so good. You knew your people were too proud to not let them be pressed down and would fight back wether they were strong enough or not.
You had to do something as the clans new leader. Age wasn't a thing. I soon as you could talk, you were old enough. What had to be done, had to be done. Even if it meant you had to trick other clan members. Naive stray ones like Lucio.
⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯
The way back had a small few beautiful flowers lined to the path. Most of the bushes have shed their flowers now, but some cling on, sending a waft of sent as he passes. He paid this no mind though as he truged toward the stalls, mind set on doing his part of the deal to get the magic rock thingy before the wrinkly old lady changes her mind.
Walking past a few people, he had run into Morga Eirsdottir. The clan leader of the southern tribe and his mother. Her stern eyes softened slightly as her son walked towards her.
"Montag, where have you..." She began before trailing off as he walked straight past her with a determined aura surrounding him.
'What is he up to?...' She thought to herself, moving to follow him before stopping herself. She was in a discussion with the tribe leaders. Whatever he was up to had to wait.
But what she didn't know was that he had already completed it and was just locking it up...
⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯⌯
"C'mon...shhhh" he coaxed the sheep out, eyes sweeping from left to right to make sure no one saw him. He had to do this and do this fast.
After sloppily counting them for the second time, he had began to set off, walking in a brisk pace to get this over and done with.
The thought of getting caught scared him quite a bit, adrenaline running cold through him- but some was for the rock to blame. The thought of being able to have a soulmate was enough to make him estatic. Already imagining how he'd be able to make an impression on them as they watched through his eyes, impressed by his pure formidability.
You were a few steps away, working hard of the vexatious scroll in your hand before catching sight of him and putting it away. Sharp eyes watching him as he peered at the sky, a huge goofy grin spread across his lips as he seemed to be engrossed in whatever he was thinking about. So deep in thought he didn't notice a sheep absentemindedly going astray from the group.
A huff of a laugh escaped your previous apathetic demeanor. He was very strange. A shame that you had to scam him, right?
Finally making him way towards you, he nudged a thumb behind him. Opening his mouth to speak but stopping short. Before speaking in a blunt manner "who're you?"
Slightly baffled by his straight forward manner, you shook your head. This had to be done quick. "That doesn't matter, what matters is that you give me the sheep and I'll hand you the crystal."
"How do I know you have the...oh" he stopped, noticing how you pulled out the crystal. Impatience surrounding your every move.
Exchanging the valuables, you silently watched his eyes gleam as he peered at the little orb with fascination before shooting his gaze up at you. "You're not the old lady, how did you know I'd be here to take this rock thingy?"
"Doesn't matter. You away and play with your rock." You dismissed him, turning to enchant all ten sheep into your small pouch.
This seemed to catch his attention as he suddenly latched onto your sleeve, peering at the small pouch- startling you as it wasn't common to speak informally to the clan leader in your clan, much less grap on their sleeve. "So you're a magician! I thought you just searched for magicy rocks all you life."
"don't you have some princess, prince or something to save..." You sighed, yanking your sleeve away from the energetic boy.
"oh, right!" He bounced up, remembering the whole reason of their interaction. "My soulbuddy."
"soulmate..." You deadpanned, adjusting your clothing to be more presentable.
"Sure, sure. Same difference."
"It's not"-
"Bye strange friend! I'll See ya later" He called out, running off to do whatever with the enchanted stone.
"I'm not your friend!" You vainly responded before sighing in exasperation, moving to gather your belongings before a flash crossed your eyes, pausing any movement to focus.
There you saw a single blond lock Infront of your eye, a gloved hand hovering in front of your hand- the small crystal in between two of his fingers.
You stood silent for a moment, struck dumb for a minute.
You were his soulmate?

I love hate coming into fandoms too late. Like after their golden age hype is over.
It’s like walking into a graveyard with a couple of stragglers left behind but mostly just random gravestone and cool shit that I will plunder but get immensely sad because 1) there’s no one to enjoy the treasures with me 2) there is no more treasure made and I have to scavenge for anything I have

The Magician was an odd one, let's start off there.
They had enjoyed tricking people and often spoke in riddles. This did not mean you were an exception, no-no.
Finding an eight-year-old kicking and punching at trees in the middle of the night deep in the forest was more than enough to baffle them and keep their interest.
You had grown an interest in being a battle commander from a young age as you watched fights in the coliseum. Minors were not to attend but you always found some way to sneak in.
say they had been tutoring you- in a way.
Often offering to watch you spar with a vivid soul they'd compose for a bit or take you to different locations that were extraordinary and quite distinct from the normal viridescent grass, brown earth, and blue sky.
They were always remarkable, every memory of yours invoking things that happened in that place, like the pale blue markings you once encountered on stones or even the fur-covered trees that had various types of colors. All as mesmerizing as the first.
But no matter how much you enjoyed these sights, the main area you had always met up with The Magician was where you first met.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
The houses were small and simple, made of stone, mud, and wood. Something very common in this era.
A ring of men and woman were playing a round of cards in the shade of what you reckon is a bakery, from the whiff of fresh bread that emanates from it which was enough to confirm it.
You had never entered the bakery but often heard great things from the owner. Especially the pumpkin bread they had made often.
You might wanna check it out later?
As you ran past, the group had not taken notice of your presence, their focus on jeering at each other while slapping the cards down on a wooden table.
This did not bother you as you have places to be anyways.
Sprinting and leaping through vines and trunks, you halt to a stop at your destination. What you expected was for The Magician to be here, casually sat under a tree as usual, instead in his place was a small boy around your age.
He had quite a lot of white hair on his head, almost overpowering his small face. He looked like a deer in headlights at this point as he did not move an inch after he spotted you.
He watched you with unabashed curiosity as you stepped closer. Seeming to assess how you'd react of probably because of your dark well-embroided regime uniform with silver linings that must make quite the peculiar sight, a stark contrast to the ocher and brown-clad people that lived near this area.
Your first thought was...he was a thief.
A good for nothing little imp trying to steal from The Magician, of all people. 'Outrageous! The sheer audacity of this little criminal!' Your ten-year mind concluded, already feeling confrontational.
Drawing your sword out with one swift motion, you had edged it straight at the strange teenager as you spoke with some level of authority latched to your tone "what are you doing sneaking around here?"
His eyes quickly scan the area, setting off red lights in your mind as you quickly knew what he was going to do.
'He is trying to escape.'
Fast on your feet, you hurled your daggers straight in his escape path, but that did not interrupt him as you had anticipated it would.
The footing below you had shifted all of a sudden causing you to stagger on your feet and him to expose a route past you.
'He is a magician!'
Quickly you were right behind him, hot on his tail as he had fled through trees and hedges in an attempt to lose you- which he soon acknowledged was futile.
Disappearing behind a tree, you had followed hastily so you didn't lose him- only to find yourself upside down, wrapped in vines as they supported your body from not falling headfirst into the soil.
The little brat tricked you.
"You little..." You began, struggling with your restraints as the timid young boy appeared from behind a hedge ahead of you.
"Sorry." He started, scratching the back of his neck as he looked up at you with a nervous smile.
'Is he looking at me with pity?'
Blood boiling over as your face reddened, you twisted your blade- the vines successfully unwinding as you landed clean on both feet, one hand pressed on the ground between your feet for extra support.
'He didn't even bother taking my weapons away.' You thought, concluding that he wasn't really good at anything combat-related, be it with or without magic.
This seemed to terrify the little fellow as his shoulder hunched up slightly, his nervous smile slowly disappearing as he took in your revengeful exterior.
"You think you can steal and get away with it?"
"S-steal!? I wasn't stealing!...this time."
"Aha, so you are a criminal." You snarled, sword at the ready.
"I see you both have met." A vivid voice spoke from the trees as flashes of red and white silk danced at the corner of your eyes.
It was the magician.
They had been beside the pair the whole time, It seems. "Play nice now." They chided, an amused grin on their face.
"....You know?" Asra spoke with caution as he gestured a hand towards you, hanging from the magician's grasp as they held you up from picking a fight with the nervous kid.
"Enthusiasm is so powerful today, hey reader?" The Magician teased, setting you on your feet as soon as you had settled down. "All will be said in a minute" they promised, nearing their usual sitting spot. "But first, would you like to have some tea?"
This oddity was not a surprise as you had grown familiar with how they had often avoided giving out an actual answer, opting to flesh it out in an unnecessary chatter.
But that didn't mean they didn't give out the answer, no it didn't.
You were smart enough to piece together the conclusion and it was as simple as it could be. You were not their only pupil.
This came as a surprise of sorts to you as a slight trickle of jealousy crept its way into your mind. 'Who was this kid anyways!?'
Voicing out your thoughts brought an amused laugh from the Magician as they settled with asking the both of you to get to know each other.
"You'd make fast friends." They spoke in between sips as they added with a mischievous glint. "You might get along better than friends of course. Best friends even?"
The oblivious beam of a smile from the kid- soon learning that his name was Asra- was enough to confirm for you that he had not picked up on the suggestion.
But, you did. And you did not ignore it as you eyed them with skepticism which was soon disrupted by Asra's sudden excitement as he overwhelmed you with the idea of you two being close friends.
Scrunching your nose in disdain prompted The Magician to crack up once more. They sure enjoyed pestering you, that's for sure.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
The next day was somewhat uneventful, in your opinion- which later changed when you had spotted asra once again.
He was peering from behind a bush straight ahead at...nothing?
"Is he looking for me?" You muttered as you squinted your eyes at him suspiciously.
You had a one-sided grudge against the poor boy. You wanted to have a duel with him. You wanted a new challenge, something of a higher level. If he was worthy of being The Magician's pupil just like you, he was likely to be a worthy fighter, right?
Slinking around his field of view, you had stopped right behind him, leaning down near his left ear as you had whispered "Got you."
With a shriek of fright, he had jumped away a few inches before recognizing it was you all along. A bright smile spread across his face as he drew closer. "It's you! Let's"-
Once again, a dagger pointed straight at his forehead cut him off from speaking further.
"Fight me!" You declared, chin up and posture perfect enough to come across as intimidating only for the other to push it to the side by the blunt part with two fingers and drag you off towards town. "there's something I have to show you real quick, you have to see it!"
Saying he wasn't terrorized by you anymore was an understatement.
He seemed to have grown used to your antagonistic nature, telling you things like "you're so cool!" When you once scared off a few kids from bothering the snowy-haired kid, so you could duel with him- only to be bombarded with naive complements instead.
You were not used to this no matter how many years you spent with him.
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂫🂬🂭🂮🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂻🂼🂽🂾🃁🃂🃃🃄🃅🃆🃇🃈🃉🃊
Closing the door behind him, Asra walks further into the room. In search of something he had forgotten to take with him before he left for another journey.
His satchel.
Nadia had mentioned that this guest room he had currently been using would be given to another guest as soon as he had left.
Not wanting to overstay, he made sure to quicken his search.
A loud bang was enough to scare asra as his heart seemed to stop beating for a second before turning around to face the commotion.
What he met instead was a blade settled right between both his eyes as a all too familiar voice commanded. "What are you doing sneaking around here?"
It was you. Both of you had unfortunately parted ways after three years of meeting due to a few changes in your life.
You had found some sort of warrior signup and they had been very impressed with your abilities and had offered to enroll you in their program to teach you more and find you an acceptable assignment in the end.
You, of course finding this as the only opportunity to express your worth and become an actual war commander, accepted the offer.
You didn't bother keeping it private as you proudly boasted about it to everyone you knew, which received a lot of congrats in return and a few good luck!s
But what you didn't expect was for Asra to be dejected about it.
He had grown quite miserable after he had heard of your departure and didn't know how to respond, to begin with. The chance of you returning was pretty slim.
You had found him by the river near your usual training spot one day and walked right up to him, ready to brag about your success to him to only to stop short.
He had been sniffling back tears and rubbing his now reddened eyes as they became blurry with tears.
You didn't like this one bit.
Not knowing how to approach this type of a situation, you had cleared your throat, catching asra's attention.
"Hey." You started awkwardly, avoiding eye contact as your gaze was set towards the calm river, watching a few fishes swim past from time to time, but that was quickly changed as you were soon tackled to the ground with a bone-crushing hug.
"H-hey, relax- you're heavy!" you complained, sitting up by your elbows as you let him cry into your shoulders for a bit. You did not understand why it was such a bad thing.
After a few moments of back rubbing and sniffling, his tears came to a hushed silence.
"Don't worry so much." You reassured, hugging him back as you gave up on attempting to slip out from his tight grasp. "I'll be back before you know it."
And there you were, standing in front of him with a stern expression as you waited for an answer. You did not recognize him.
A playful smile spread across his face, stomach flattering with butterfliess as he watched your left eye twitch in irritation at his smile.
You didn't change a bit.
"You..." You trailed off after a moment. Same violet eyes, same white hair- it was Asra.
You froze in place, the tips of your ears and cheeks suddenly burning red, saying nothing. It has been a long while since you had seen him and time has been nothing but generous to him.
He stayed silent, to wait for your next move it seemed.
When it failed to come, he moved closer- pushing your dagger to the side with two fingers.
his gaze under his thick white eyelashes flickered down to your lips, and when he look back up with a teasing smile, there was something feline in his usually soft eyes, his pupils small pinpricks in his deep violet irises.
His voice was low, silvery, as he asked, his tone slow and very deliberate, "caught me again didn't you, reader?"
