"Ready, Y/n-chan?" The doctor asked as he stood in the room with a few other nurses. "Y-yeah..but.." she trailed off as she looked over at her brother "H..has Grimmjow called back?". Suzo pursed his lips and shook his head. "No..I'm sure he'll be here when you get out" he gave her an assuring smile "Just...don't worry. We'll be here when you wake up!". She glanced away from him, thinking back on the night before.

"Hey..you still up?" Grimmjow drawled out as he turned in the makeshift bed he'd done with the two chairs. "Yeah.." she whispered, loud enough for him to hear at least. "I gotta ask you something". "What is it?". He ran his tongue over his bottom lip, glancing up at the ceiling "Say...say someone wanted to give their friend something. Like..I dunno, if they needed money but they were too proud to accept money from anyone....do you think they'd be mad if the friend secretly gave them money somehow?". "That's oddly specific" she laughed "How should I know?". "Just..think about it". It was silent in the room as she did as he asked. He was glad to be able to spend this time with her, though he did have to beg and bribe the nurses since visitors weren't allowed to stay after hours, unless they were immediate family members. "..I guess, if I were that person and I found out, I'd feel..betrayed...in a way. Know what I mean? I think, I trusted them to let me handle it on my own and for them to undermine my efforts, I'd be hurt by it. Its..ah..I dunno the word for it but..in the end I'd be grateful more than I am hurt..if that makes sense. Because they did go out of their way to worry and help me because they knew I wasn't okay". "...yeah, that makes sense.." he let out with a deep and heavy sigh "Yeah..". "You're more kinder than you let on, Grimmjow". He raised an eyebrow, "What?". "You asked me that because you have a friend who's having financial issues, right?". He closed his eyes, "I have a friend who's having issues, yeah...how far is too far with doing a secret favor?". "Hmm...if that favor is going to harm either you or your friend down the line, then its too far" she voiced "Would you want a favor done for you if it meant the person was going to be hurt?". "I don't care for a lot of people" he grumbled "But...if it was a certain person...yeah. I'd be pissed". "Are you worried they won't appreciate your favor?". "...I'm worried if it'll be alright..and if my friend will be okay after". "After?...why do you sound like you're going to leave your friend all alone?". "..hey..I have something I want to tell you" he yawned, turning onto his side "But I won't tell you until after your surgery". "Okay..you'll be here in the morning, right? Before I go in?..I-I want to say goodbye in cas--". "If that's why you want me here, then I won't show up" he cut her off. She didn't say anything, so he continued. "I'll see you when you wake up" he said "And you can tell me all about whatever dream you were having while under the anesthetic and shit. Okay?". He heard her sniffle, his chest tightened and he wondered if he was too harsh. "You don't know if I'll w--""Yeah, I do. I know for a fact that you'll wake up, because you're stronger than you believe. So save your goodbyes for when you're old and wrinkly, got it?". "...wrinkly?". "Sorry. I meant saggy". "That’s worse than wrinkly..".

An eerie feeling settled in the pit of her soul. Being rolled down the hallway of the hospital, she looked over at Suzo who had tears in his eyes but smiled nonetheless "Don't be nervous, it'll all be alright". He gingerly touched her cheek, she realized she was crying. She looked away from him as the nurses and the doctor spoke. They suddenly stopped, “Alright. This is it Y/n-chan” the doctor said “We’ll give you a few minutes with Suzo while we prepare inside”. “Thank you” Suzo smiled as they disappeared inside the operating room. “...I..I’m scared..” she broke the silence, eyes red as the tears fell, her lips quivere “Suzo..if..if I don't come ba--”. “Don’t even say that!” Suzo snapped, gripping the railing of the bed tightly as he forced a smile “Don’t..don’t think that way. The operation will be fine, you’ll come back to us and Grimmjow will be here too! Just...just relax”. “You should take your own advice” she managed a smile “....but..please let me say what I want to say..I wont go in if you don’t listen to what I have to say, Suzo”. He gulped nervously but decided to let her say what she needed to say. He didn’t want there to be any regrets. “Thank you, for everything” she hummed with a smile “You were the only one who I knew who would never leave me and I felt guilty at times because of that..you missed out on so much because of me..so I’m sorry. I hope you’ll be alright after if I don't make it, please don’t...well, you know..”. “I don’t regret any of it, Y/n” he assured “So don’t be sorry and don’t feel guilty. If I had to do it all again, I would! And you will come back to us!”. Her lip quivered, tears rushing out now “Thank you Suzo....I also wanted to tell Grimmjow something..but he told me he wouldn't see me before I went in..if..if I don't..ya know...can you tell him that I’m really, really grateful to him for being my friend and for not leaving me alone..tell him that I’m sorry we couldn’t be friends longer. I..I think I...ah..just tell him thank you..and that I’ll never, ever forget him. Tell him to take care of himself too, don’t let him ruin himself Suzo..”. “We’ll be fine if..if you..” Suzo trailed off, unable to say the words, let alone think of her dying “Make it back to us, Y/n. Please”. “All set?” the doctor popped his head out of the room. She closed her eyes and gulped, “Y-Yes”. “Great” he said as they opened the doors “It shouldn’t take more than 8 hours, Suzo. We’ll keep you updated so please rest”. Suzo nodded as he watched them take his sister into the operating room, heart thumping viciously against his chest as he could feel the tears threatening to spill. He couldn't imagine how sacred she was, he wanted this to all be a dream but he knew better. He fell to his knees, “Y/n” he choked out.

“Alright, start the anesthesia” the doctor said as he fixed his gloves, hovering over her. The mask was strapped over her mouth and nose, she stared calmingly at the ceiling. “Count back from 5, Y/n-chan” the nurse said. She did as she was told. 5. 4. The curtains beside her were suddenly drawn, “The other patient is ready, doctor” the nurse said. Her donor was in here as well? 3. The anesthetic was starting to kick in, eyes beginning to droop. She turned her head, 2. Her heart dropped. Grimmjow was on the operating table beside her. And that was the last thing she saw before it all went blank. 1.

Part Ten (Some of you may have seen this already. Idk. But tumblr on mobile says I've posted some of my drafts when I haven't but then I get on my laptop and its not posted?)

"Thank you for coming in to see me on such short notice, Suzo" the doctor said as he sat behind the desk "I have good news". "Really?" Suzo's eyes widened "Did she move up on the donor list?!". "Even better" the doctor grinned "Someone has offered to give her their lung! Its a perfect match and we've accepted the donation. They've asked for it to be anonymous so I can’t tell you who it is but once we get the preparations ready, we can do the surgery right away. I’d say..in two days time!". "Someone..offered..." his eyes widened even more and they grew teary "T-that's good news doc...really good fucking news.." he wiped his eyes as he tried to stop from crying "D-does Y/n know yet?". "I figured you'd want to be the one to tell her" he explained "Unless you're busy, then I can tell her when I go in to see her later on". "I'll tell her" he chuckled, "I'll tell her. She's going to be so happy! Man...".

"You look like you're thinking about something serious" Y/n asked as she laid in the bed, eyes half lidded due to the medication she was under. "..n-nah. It's nothing" Grimmjow leaned back on his chair "...does anything hurt? I can get a nurse in here". "I'm fine" she managed to muster up a smile "Nothings gonna help me now anyways...". "..can I ask you something?" He asked after a few minutes had passed. She hummed in response, too weak to speak for too long. "What would you do if you had a second chance at life?" Grimmjow asked "Or third? Since this is your third time being in here for your lungs...". "....a third chance....I'd live more..I was too scared that my body would reject my father's lung that...I lived carefully...and I regret that now..". She explained "If I had a third chance. I'd do more with my life". "Like what? Hike or some shit?" He asked, wondering what it was that she wanted to do with her life if she wasn't ill. A soft laugh slipped past her lips, "No...I'd make more friends..go see movies more often, eat out...window shop...". He noted how she trailed off, eyes finding that a red tinge had graced her face "..what?". Why was she blushing? "I'd...date...ya know..find the right guy.." she let out, a bit embarrassed. His eyes widened as he found himself blushing as well, clearing his throat as he looked away "D-...dating's good...gotta experience that a few times in your life". "..no use wishing about all of that now..." she brought up "..I'm tired Grimmjow..I think I'll sleep for a bit..". His gaze softened, "Go ahead..I'll be here when you wake up". "..thank you". About twenty minutes later, Suzo came into the room a huge grin on his face "Ah, Grimmjow! Good to see you". "Yeah--you look happier than usual" Grimmjow said with a raised eyebrow "Did ya get laid or something?". Suzo deadpanned lightly, "No..I did not...". "You should go out and get laid, you look like you need it" the male said calmly. "I’m doing just fine in my love life, Grimmjow...anyways! I came to tell Y/n some good news!" He grinned, before he noticed she was asleep "Oh...how long has she been asleep?". "Almost like twenty minutes before you came in" Grimmjow explained "She seemed really tired when I showed up". "Yeah..probably the meds and stuff..." Suzo said softly. "What’s the big news? If you don’t mind telling me" He pressed. "Someone has offered to donate a lung for Y/n!" The male let out with a huge grin, eyes growing watery "So as soon as they get everything in order they'll do the operation!". Grimmjow chuckled, eyes wide "Wow, that’s fucking good news man! Even better than getting laid!". "I know!" Suzo laughed softly "But I'll come by later then to tell her about it. I've got to get to work. Are you going to be here later on?". "Yup" he let out with a sigh "Kinda got suspended from my job earlier this week so I don't have anything else to do". "..that explains why you've been here every day this week..what'd you do?". "A bunch of complaints from asshole customers" he laughed "Whatever, I hated that job anyways". “Ah, yeah there are some tough customers in retail sometimes..actually, before I go...I wanna ask ya something". "Go for it" Grimmjow raised an eyebrow “What’s up?”. "...when she gets better and things start to look up for her..are you still going to be there?" Suzo asked as he knit his eyebrows. Grimmjow smirked, "Of course. I said I'd be here for the long run. Even if she gets better, I still want to be at her side. Sorry, Suzo. You're never getting rid of me". Suzo laughed, "That sounds like a good and bad thing...but I'm glad. Thanks Grimmjow, I'll stop by after work. I'd like to be the one to tell her so keep it between us, okay?". "Sure" Grimmjow yawned "Ill probably be asleep by the time she wakes up anyways". "Alright. Thanks again" Suzo let out before he left. The blue haired male sighed as he laid back in the chair, eyes glued to the ceiling thinking about how the girl would react at being given a third chance at life. He smirked faintly, "...tch..as if I'd fucking leave..not willingly at least..".

Later on that night right before visiting hours were done, Suzo managed to get there on time. Even if he’d arrived late, some of the nurse shad a crush on him so they would've snuck him him to see her either way. By then Grimmjow was passed out on the chair, mouth slightly parted as soft snores left his lips. ”He’s been asleep for the past hour” Y/n spoke up softly as Suzo stepped further into the room. A grin plasterd onto his face, “I stopped by earlier but you were asleep. How are you feeling?”. “Fine, I guess..I have this headache that won’t go away” she smiled weakly “But I’ll be fine. Did you just get out of work?”. He nodded, walking over to the side of the bed and sitting “Yeah. I stopped by to tell you some good news”. “Good news?” she raised an eyebrow “What about?”. “The doctor called me in this morning” he started “Know what he said?”. She pursed her lips, “...my days are numbered?”. He chuckled, “No! No Y/n...he told me that someone has offered to donate for you”. Her eyes widened “What? really?! Who?”. “Dunno. It was anonymous so he couldn’t tell me” Suzo explained “They’re going to run the tests to see if its compatible. If it is then they’ll start the surgery as soon as possible!”. Her eyes grew watery as she looked down at her hands “Wow...that’s....that’s really fucking great!--Oh! Sorry for cursing” she laughed softly. He deadpanned “You’ve been hanging around Grimmjow too long...but I’ll allow it just this once! It’s really good news isn't it?”. She wiped her eyes, “Suzo..can we go eat burgers when I’m let go from the hospital? I've been craving some”. “We can go eat whatever you want and do whatever you want when we leave, Y/n” he smiled sheepishly “We’ll do all the things you want until you’re tired and exhausted!”. She was excited and extremely grateful for this miracle! But she couldn't help but wonder: who donated for her? And why?

Comforting Touches

[Ichigo Kurosaki ; #16 “Are you wearing my shirt?”.]

After a long night of fighting Hollows and running after them, Ichigo felt every inch of his muscles and body ache. He groaned lightly, a feathery sigh slipped past his lips as he rolled slowly onto his side. His nose felt blocked and his head ached as if a truck had slammed right into him. “...Y/n-chan?” he called out weakly, his hands finding the other side of the bed empty and cold. Where did she go? And how long had she been gone? He groaned once more, closing his eyes as he allowed the pain he was feeling to settle a bit before moving to sit up as best he could. He held his head, eyes tightly shut from his head and his body aches “Y/n-chan” he called out louder. He heard faint footsteps stumbling up the stairs, quickly running down the hall before the door opened and in stepped in the female. “You called?” she asked, “Damn, you look like shit, Ichigo!”. He laughed weakly, feeling the bed dip beside him and a feather touch cupped his face while the other ghosted over his forehead “You’re burning up. Lay back down, I’ll go make some soup”. He grunted, wrapping his hands around her “Just lay down with me”. She giggled “But Ichigo--”. “S’fine” he hummed, pulling her down with him as he laid back down “I’m not hungry right now anyways”. “Okay” she smiled as she watched him sleep. He furrowed his eyebrows every once in awhile, lips parted slightly as his face was red due to the fever he had and yet, his arms wrapped loosely around her would slowly grow tighter as if he was scared she’d leave at any moment. She hummed softly, nuzzling into his chest and fell asleep in his arms minutes later.

When she awoke, she found a few hours had gone by and the sun had already set. She yawned lightly as she carefully maneuvered out of Ichigo’s arms and hopped out of bed, wanting to go make that soup for the orange haired male before he could object. Thirty or so minutes later and she walked back into the room with a piping bowl of broth, a water bottle tucked under her arm as she gently placed it down in the nightstand. Ichigo was already sitting up, probably worried about where she’d gone. “There you are..I said I didn't want any soup” he sighed but smiled as best he could “Just need you, Y/n-chan..”. “Last I checked, I don’t have the power to cure colds” she laughed, sitting down beside him and handing him the water “Here”. He greedily gulped down the water, panting lightly after as he wiped his lips free of any lingering water “Thanks..”. Then his eyes widened, cheeks growing pink as he noticed her clothing “...is that my shirt?”. She seemed to be wearing his grey t-shirt and short underneath, but because his shirt was too big on her, it covered most of the shorts. She nodded with a grin, “Mhm, sorry..you got my other shirt drenched in sweat and I didn’t have anything else to put on. This was laying around so..do you want me to take it off?”. He burned a bright red “N-No!..I-it looks better on you than on me, is all..”. She smirked teasingly as she leaned in a bit, “Really? Cause I don’t mind taking it off, my clothes are done drying anyways~”. He looked away from her as he tried to force down the embarrassment “J-just keep it”. “Hm, okay” she laughed as she crawled over to his side “Hurry and eat some of the soup, you need to rest more”. Her eyes widened as she was suddenly pulled closer to him and nuzzling right into her neck “Let’s just take a nap now..I’ll eat later”. She smiled, wrapping her arms around the male “Taking naps with me isn’t going to make you better, Ichigo”. “You’re wrong..” he mumbled softly as he drifted off into sleep. “I am?” she raised an eyebrow. “Mhm” he hummed “Being around you, in your arms, I’m feeling better already”. Her eyes widened, feeling him squeeze her a bit “..thanks Y/n-chan..”. She smiled warmly, nuzzling into his hair “No problem, Ichigo”.

"Thank you for coming in to see me on such short notice, Suzo" the doctor said as he sat behind the desk "I have good news". "Really?" Suzo's eyes widened "Did she move up on the donor list?!". "Even better" the doctor grinned "Someone has offered to give her their lung! Its a perfect match and we've accepted the donation. They've asked for it to be anonymous so I cant tell you who it is but once we get the preparations ready, we can do the surgery right away". "Someone..offered..." his eyes widened even more and they grew teary "T-that's good news doc...really good fucking news.." he wiped his eyes as he tried to stop from crying "D-does Y/n know yet?". "I figured you'd want to be the one to tell her" he explained "Unless you're busy, then I can tell her when I go in to see her later on". "I'll tell her" he chuckled, "I'll tell her. She's going to be so happy! Man...".

"You look like you're thinking about something serious" Y/n asked as she laid in the bed, eyes half lidded due to the medication she was under. "Nah. It's nothing" Grimmjow leaned back on his chair "...does anything hurt? I can get a nurse in here". "I'm fine" she managed to muster up a smile "Nothings gonna help me now anyways...". "..can I ask you something?" He asked after a few minutes had passed. She hummed in response, too weak to speak for too long. "What would you do if you had a second chance at life?" Grimmjow asked "Or third? Since this is your third time being in here for your lungs...". "....a third chance....I'd live more..I was too scared that my body would reject my father's lung that...I lived carefully...and I regret that now..". She explained "If I had a third chance. I'd do more with my life". "Like what? Hike or some shit?" He asked, wondering what it was that she wanted to do with her life if she wasn't ill. A soft laugh slipped past her lips, "No...I'd make more friends..go see movies more often, eat out...window shop......". He noted how she trailed off, eyes finding that a red tinge had graced her face "..what?". Why was he blushing? "I'd...date...ya know..find the right guy.." she let out, a bit embarrassed. His eyes widened as he found himself blushing as well, clearing his throat as he looked away "D-...dating's good...gotta experience that a few times in your life". "..no use wishing about all of that now..." she brought up "..I'm tired Grimmjow..I think I'll sleep for a bit..". His gaze softened, "Go ahead..I'll be here when you wake up". "..thank you". About twenty minutes later, Suzo came into the room a huge grin on his face "Ah, Grimmjow! Good to see you". "You too..you look happier than usual" Grimmjow said with a raised eyebrow "Did ya get laid or something?". Suzo deadpanned lightly, "No..I didnt...". "You should go out and get laid, you look like you need it" the male said calmly. "Im doing just fine in my live life, Grimmjow...anyways! I came to tell Y/n some good news!" He grinned, before he noticed she was alseep "Oh...how long has she been asleep?". "Almost half an hour before you came in" Grimmjow explained "She seemed really tired when I showed up". "Yeah..probably the meds and stuff..." Suzo said softly. "Whats the big news?" He pressed. "Someone has offered to donate a lung for Y/n!" The male let out with a huge grim, tears growing watery "So as soon as they get eveything in order they'll do the operation!". Grimmjow chuckled, eyes wide "Wow, thats fucking good news man! Even better than getting laid!". "I know!" Suzo laughed softly "I'll come by later then to tell her about it. I've got to get to work. Are you going to be here later on?". "Yup" he let out with a sigh "Kinda got suspended from my job earlier this week so I don't have anything else to do". "Now I know why you've been here all day this week..what'd you do?". "A bunch of complaints from the asshole customers" he laughed "Whatever, I hated that job anyways". "Actually, before I go...I wanna ask ya something". "Whats up?" Grimmjow raised an eyebrow. "...when she gets better and things start to look up for her..are you still going to be there?" Suzo asked as he knit his eyebrows. Grimmjow smirked, "Of course. I said I'd be here for the long run. Even if she gets better, I still want to be at her side. Sorry, Suzo. You're never getting rid of me". Suzo laughed, "That sounds like a good and bad thing...but I'm glad. Thanks Grimmjow, I'll stop by after work. I'd like to be the one to tell her so keep it between us, okay?". "Sure" Grimmjow yawned "Ill probably be asleep by the time she wakes up anyways". "Alright. Thanks again" Suzo let out before he left. The blue haired male sighed as he laid back in the chair, eyes glued to the ceiling thinking about how the girl would react at being given a third chance at life. He smirked faintly, "...tch..as if I'd fucking leave..not willingly at least..".
