person who has only watched one anime: what i really love about dungeon meshi is how it subverts our expectations of a typical anime by not sexualising women and having a good plot!

I see your "Laios is trans" but that dude is THE most apathetically agender person on the planet. Laios does not have time for gender. Laios does not even HAVE a gender identity, he removed it to make room for more Monster Facts.

this part kind of resonated with me--its hard to put into words but this episode kinda reminds me of how i lived my life as an nd person who tried very hard to mask and then becoming acquainted with ppl who didnt mask as much and were more comfortable with their nd traits and it did spur a lot of bitterness and envy in me. and maybe u dont necessarily have to take that reading of this but i like how in this scene toshiro is stating his feelings more genuinely and freely after he had spent a lot of time hiding them in order to be tactful. i think toshiro is an interesting and complex character

Kind of hilarious to me how poorly the title "Mob Psycho 100" localized to English-speaking areas. To someone whose first language is English, it scans as:

Mob (Yakuza, Mafia)

Psycho (violent person with "crazy" behaviors)

Thus: a particularly violent member of organized crime.

But in Japanese it scans as:

Mob (background characters in crowd scenes in manga or anime)

Psycho (short for psychic)

Thus: a psychic who looks/acts like someone you'd never pick out of a crowd scene in a comic.

Gon having endless potential. This meaning that Gon is Ging's son. Gon giving up all his potential and all his power he'll ever have before meeting Ging. Him meeting Ging not as Ging's prodigy son who will increase in power for the rest of his life but as a talented but powerless boy. The type of boy who Ging should have met from the start. Ging still left a mark on Gon, sending him on this path, sending him with the ability to reach this potential, but he gave it up and even as powerless as he was he still met Ging

I mean "non movie" anime!!! Like, not Ghibli movies, but also excludes all other anime movies. I'm looking specifically for anime that ran on TV in japan (though here in the west we usually get it via streaming services, obviously. Still counts.)
