Do you know of any anti-River fics?
Hello there Anon! You probably sent this a good while ago, apologies! We have not been monitoring our inbox. :)
We’re not so much anti here (regardless of our opinions). However, we will also not stop anyone who reads this from making suggestions in comments or reblogs, provided folks keep it peaceful.

This is like asking me to choose between a midsay quickie and a date followed by passionate love making. Their both great, depending on what you have time for and what you're in the mood for. I want quickies to be an option, but that's not what i like most. It's the sex-as-part-of-a-loving-relationship that makes it all worthwhile. As a great man once said: Sometimes you feel like a nut; sometimes you don't.
Thank you for your input on this!

So something happened last week and our blog was terminated. We sent along a request to have it restored and within two days staff did restore it. We’ll never know why it was deleted but we’re happy it’s back! We currently do not have plans to resume activities, as our admins are not as active anymore. We are no less passionate about everyone’s contributions and we all firmly believe in keeping fandom content available for everyone to enjoy regardless of content creators’ status in fandom. So as long as tumblr is up we plan to have our library of posts available for everyone to peruse.

Imagine Rose giggling at the Doctor’s dorky singing in previous regenerations, Ten especially. Not at them of course, but with them

And then stumbling on Thirteen repairing the TARDIS idly singing like an angel and being awestruck

Arising from our crypt to humbly request a crossover fic with Ten/Rose and Gomez and Morticia Addams because Ten and Gomez have a LOT in common and they need to meet.

Reader/Writer Survey: when it comes to smut in multi-chapter fic, is there a preference? Like do people prefer they get down to business ASAP, or do more people prefer slow-burn or romance over smut? I know there are fans of each but I wonder if there's a trend in preferences when it comes to Teninch fic and the like.
There are many perspectives on this. Readers and writers sound off with yours and your thoughts!

I've kind of been lurking on the @ao3commentoftheday discussion about concrit lately, and I wanted to jump in with my two cents.
1. Not everyone who writes fanfic cares about improving their writing.
This is something that a lot of people defending concrit seem to be missing. THEY want to improve, and so concrit is important to them. Concrit helped them along the way. And that's great!
However, some people aren't trying to improve their writing. For some people, fanfic is just a way to de-stress, and they're perfectly happy to share things with whoever enjoys them, but they aren't interested in improving it.
That's okay. That's valid.
We share fanfic for others, but fandom is first and foremost a personal thing. You enjoy it in the way that suits your wants and needs.
Like with anything else, it's a hobby for some people, and a passion for others. If it's your passion, great; but don't demand that someone's hobby become their passion, just because it happens to be yours.
2. Not everyone wants concrit from the whole world.
Even people who want to improve often have a few trusted friends they welcome serious criticism from. Now, I mean truly trusted; friends that they trust to tell them when their writing is OOC, their plot doesn't make sense, or a line of dialogue is choppy.
That doesn't necessarily mean they want concrit from strangers.
Criticism that comes from a trusted relationship is often more appreciated than a stranger.
3. If you're excited about concrit, great! Find a group of like-minded writers, and help each other improve! They will appreciate it, just as you will appreciate them.
In conclusion:
1. Some people want concrit.
2. Some people do not.
3. Some people want concrit from specific people only.
Regardless of your personal feelings on it, please respect the boundaries of others.
It doesn't matter if your advice could turn them into a best-selling author. If they didn't invite concrit, don't force it.

caedmonfaith replied to your post “((fyi I think that blog was just looking for a promo))”
No, I’m in a Facebook group with the woman who’s started it. She’s genuinely asking questions and looking for pointers. I directed her to this blog as a good example of a prompt blog that had its act together.
Ah, okay good to know! We are both flattered and wishing her good luck! It’s a really good time to be starting a Good Omens prompt blog for sure

You’re probably right on the money there but it can’t hurt to be helpful also :)

I'm looking to set up a site, much like this one, ideally, for Good Omens, anything you could share to help me build mine up?
Sure!
Tags! Use fandom tags in your prompts
Post a lot of prompts, and use an organisational system for your posts (i.e. tags).
Using content tags and warnings (i.e. explicit, character death, etc.) will make readers feel safe on your blog
Fanfic bingo is fun
Decide what kind of content you will and will not promote before you get going, have a post/page outlining that, and stick to it
Befriend fanfic writers in your fandom and direct them to your prompts blog
Have your URL reflect the ship you cover. If you’re only intending to cover one ship, avoid using a general URL.
Do not involve your blog in any ship wars or fandom drama. Your blog being a source of peace will keep it going
Opening up your blog to crossover ships will also increase traffic to your blog
Scope out your fandom. Are there other prompts blogs? Is there a niche for you if you’re willing to try new things? If there are other prompts blogs, chat them up and see if you all can coordinate! Make friends!
Vet the posts you reblog to make certain they aren’t reposts. If you show you support fan artists/creators/gif makers, they will support your blog and bring writers to you
Be supportive and encouraging of everyone’s ideas, and HAVE FUN
It’s our experience that being a hybrid of prompt blog and fic reg blog can lead to toxic fandom culture, as well as a decline in chapter/long fanfics
Make an announcement post of your presence, post it in the fandom tags, and offer a promo in exchange for signal boosts
We’ll be rooting for you!

Would you ever consider doing fic prompts again? Or rec lists? Since we’ve lost a prompt/rec blog today, I was wondering if you all still did that.
Thank you for the patience on the answer! Our admins due to various reasons have let this blog slide a bit. We know that’s a bit disappointing. However, we do still would love to post prompts and share ideas! We’re always here for that. So if you have ideas we are always happy to share and promote them!
