It’s also one of the main examples that pop in my head when people say “the left is too obsessed with ideological purity to create working coalitions.” And it’s like, maybe sometimes, but buddy, some shit you can’t compromise on. We can’t say “let’s champion workers rights!” Then go along with antisemitism.
Why do we try to act like Antisemitism is an exclusive foible of the political Right, anyway? Buddy, I have witnessed the ideological intersection of “kill the bourgeoisie” and “Jews control the banks and media” - it’s not a pretty picture!

Too much of this happening. Too many people saying “ the Jews-“ instead of “the state of Israel.” Too many hijackings of worthwhile causes by antisemitism, racism, sexism, etc. Making things better is building, if it feels like revenge it ain’t building and it ain’t making things better

Fascism also involves fully destroying the franchise for all out groups. I agree we are under authoritarian lite but let’s not doomerism ourselves into pretending this is the same as the 2025 project and Trump’s own day one pronouncements. Weimar sucked and lex to the rise of the third reich but things could’ve gone a different way if enough people and things went differently. We gotta keep working, things can get better

Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.
The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.
The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.
