A little bit ago I decided to embody some of the things Aziraphale loves. As a sneaky way of indulging in one of my favourite books in public. Dramatic irony, ect.
I went to the library and got a ton of books and read them at a park. I dressed in my favourite outfit to get an expensive coffee and cheap sushi. In between the shops, I played my favourite music on repeat.
And I just realized... I was convinced to engage in basic self-care by pretending to copy a fictional character. And you know what? I'm not upset by that. I highly recommend this strategy.

Crowley stress cleans but his flat is empty. He has basically nothing to clean. (I guess he could miracle in a mess or something.) I think that because the bookshop is disorganized, Crowley goes over to the bookshop when he's stressed out. Yes, the lack of organization and dust deters customers, but it also helps his demon friend calm down. (Two birds, one stone. Plausible deniability if Crowley ever accused Aziraphale of intentionally providing a coping mechanism.)
The bookshop is protected from non-Crowley demons and Aziraphale is able to tell when angels are in the area. Crowley's flat does not have the same protection. Intentional or not, the bookshop is probably the only safe place for both of them.
Aziraphale would get a meal with Crowley whenever he asked. Aziraphale has asked Crowley out to lunch when he was clearly not doing well. He would bicker with Crowley whenever he instigates an argument. A fantastic (and safe) distraction from the world, they both know that these little arguments are ultimately meaningless. They have phone conversations that aren't specifically about the arrangement. They talk on the phone simply to talk.
They are friends, they care about and like each other. Aziraphale knows Crowley really, really well. I would guess that throughout history, he tried to say 'this is a safe place for Crowley' without saying it verbally. When he opened the bookshop, he created a physical, tangible safe environment where he can take a break from everything. I think Aziraphale forces Crowley to engage in coping skills without him knowing.
Crowley saves Aziraphale from physical danger, but Aziraphale saves Crowley from himself.

Trying to define 'lust' in my mind was sort of difficult, so this is based solely on the building I used to pole dance/strip at. As you can probably see, they are very fond memories.
Lower staff is extremely repetitive to show stability. (If I wrote this by hand, it would have the measure repeat symbol, but it just didn't work on a computer program.)

There's something horrifically amazing about finding a book you've been trying to find for a very long time. It feels like reconnecting with a friend. It feels like the electricity turning back on after an outage in winter. It's a weighted blanket, hot chocolate, a thunderstorm, and a hug injected straight into my soul. I am loved, I am cared for, and I am forever changed.
