I dont know where else to put this, but has anyone ever noticed that the Inheritance cycle (Eragon) is basically just medieval fantasy Star Wars?
Spoilers of course, but:
Eragon is literally just Luke Skywalker.
- Kid lives with his uncle in a remote region of the world
- He gets magic powers
- His sort of old friend storyteller guy was actually keeping an eye on him the whole time
- He teaches him the history of an order of magic knights with dope swords
- He ends up giving him a sword belonging to his father
- Said father is actually the apprentice of the evil emperor (this however ends up being wrong, cus his mom cheated on him with Obi- I mean, Brom, he was his son not Va- i meaann)
- Guardian figure and teacher tragically dies early on
- Goes on quest to find an old master and survivor from the knights
- He makes his own super dope sword
- Old master guy dies
Yeah
Obviously theyre not exactly the same and ive not actually finished the fourth book but i want to, just not good at keeping on track with books and its been a few years since i last read it.
I do really like them though, theyre really good and any oomfies that like magic and swords and dragons should check em out, i heard disney was working with Paolini to adapt them into a tv show for disney+, i hope something (good) comes of it.

Exactly this. The right doesn’t want to protect anyone.
They aren’t “protecting the kids” by hiding books about sex, sexuality, and gender. They’re protecting predators and suppressing children.
Teaching kids what is and isn’t appropriate behavior isn’t grooming, it’s grooming prevention. An uninformed child is vulnerable. They don’t know what’s happening and that it’s bad. An informed child knows and can fight back.
Teaching kids about gender and sexuality isn’t grooming, it’s teaching them to accept themselves and others, so that if they ever meet or are themselves LGBT+, they can accept and work with it.
They do this with abortion too. They’re not “pro-life,” if they were pro-life they’d stop trying to block any protection and aid for families dealing with a new kid. They’d aid people after birth too. They’d give free school lunch, healthcare, college, and all the necessities in life. They’d provide what i already talked about above. Mental health, which they currently just use to skirt responsibility when they cause psychotic nazis to go shoot up schools and malls, they would push for better mental health and gun restriction rather than blocking it all.
THAT is all pro-life.
And none of that is right wing in any way.
It’s left wing. The things WE want that THEY try to stop.

Sólbrandr - Sunburn
An ancient, rusted blade with a surprisingly intact golden hilt. The Tiwaz rune is engraved on the pommel for victory, and is upright when the blade points toward the ground.
When held to the sky, what was once the brilliant steel blade is enwreathed in energy, creating a shining sunlight blade. The runes corresponding to the blade’s namesake glow bright as the sun itself. There are two words, “sól” for “sun” and “brandr” meaning “to burn.”
Each rune also serves a purpose, and these runes are perfect for a hero’s sword. Each has meanings, and were once carved into things and placed to serve as a charm for the rune’s domain. In Norse myth, the Allfather Odin hung and impaled himself in the roots if Yggdrasil, the world tree to learn their power.
These runes have the following meaning, in order of left to right appearance:
Sowilo - Sun, guide, victory
Othala - Inheritance, family, noble
Laguz - Ocean, change, life
Berkano - Birch, sanctuary, becoming
Raidho - Journey, rhythm, ride
Ansuz - God or Odin, stability, inspiration
Nauthiz - Necessity, resistance, urgency
Dagaz - Dawn, unity, awareness
Raidho appears once more
Last is the one on the pommel, Tiwaz, which stands for Tyr, a son of Odin and the god of war, and was placed on weapons to ensure victory, honor, and justice.
