TRAYVON MARTIN was walking home with an iced tea and Skittles. He was shot by George Zinneman, who was found not guilty.
KEITH SCOTT was sitting in a car, reading. He was shot by a police officer, who was not charged.
ATATIANA JEFFERSON was looking out her window, and was shot by a police officer, who is still under indictment for murder.
JONATHAN FERRELL was asking for help after an auto accident. He was shot twelve times by police, case ended in mistrial.
JORDAN EDWARDS was riding in a car and was shot in the back of the head by a police officer, who was found guilty of murder.
STEPHON CLARK was holding a cell phone, and was shot 8 times, 6 in the back. The officers were not charged.
AMADOU DIALLO while taking out his wallet, 41 shots were fired by four different officers. They were all acquitted.
RENISHA MCBRIDE after an auto accident, she knocked on someone’s door for help. The homeowner was found guilty of second-degree murder.
TAMIR RICE was playing with a toy gun, and was shot by police officer arriving on scene. Officer was not charged.
SEAN BELL was hosting a bachelor party. 50 rounds were fired by police officers who were found not guilty of charges.
WALTER SCOTT was pulled over for brake lights, and was shot in the back by a police officer who pleaded guilty to civil rights violations.
PHILANDO CASTILE was pulled over and told officer he had a legally registered weapon in car. Officer acquitted of all charges.
AIYANA JONES was sleeping and was accidentally shot by an officer in a raid on wrong apartment. Officer cleared of all charges.
TERRENCE CRUTCHER needed help when his vehicle broke down. Was shot by a police officer who was found not guilty of manslaughter.
ALTON STERLING was selling CDs, and was shot at close range while being arrested. No charges filed.
FREDDIE GRAY was beaten to death by officers while being transported in police van. All officers involved were acquitted.
JOHN CRAWFORD was shopping at WalMart, holding a BB gun that was on sale—police officer was not charged for his murder.
MICHAEL BROWN was shot twelve times by an officer, including in the back. No charges filed.
JORDAN DAVIS was killed because he was playing loud music. Shooter found guilty of first-degree murder.
SANDRA BLAND was pulled over for traffic ticket; was tasered and then arrested. Suspicious “suicide” while in jail. No charges.
BOTHAM JEAN was fatally shot in his home, which female officer ¿mistook for her own? (Which I’ll never understand.) Officer found guilty of murder.
OSCAR GRANT was handcuffed and placed face-down, officer then shot him in the back. Officer found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
COREY JONES was waiting by his car which was broken down, and was shot three times by police officer, who was found guilty of murder.
AHMAUD AUBREY was jogging. He was shot by two racist men who claimed they suspected him of burglaries. Both men were charged with murder and aggravated assault.
GEORGE FLOYD was suspected of alleged fraud. He handcuffed and pinned to the ground by an officer’s knee. He begged for mercy and he was ignored.
These were all murders. They were not accidental. All of these innocent people: men, women AND children. Were murdered because they were black. Not because they were violent. Not because they were threatening, but because they were black. Something has to change. We have to MAKE a change. Black lives matter. Black men. Black women. Black children. Non-Binary blacks. Trans blacks. Every single one of their lives matter. Your friends. Your neighbors. Your teachers. Your brothers. Your sisters. We are the change.

I would just like to take a second to thank every single fanfiction writer who’s ever published a fic. In the last 3 weeks, I’ve read over 890,000 words of fanfiction while in quarantine. I know legally, fanfiction writers are not considered “essential” but let me tell you: they are essential to me. Essential to my sanity, my wellbeing, my happiness. Fic gives me so much joy and such a love for the world and the people in it, and fic writers don’t ask for anything in return, except occasional engagement. So from the bottom of my heart: thank you fic writers. Thank you for keeping me company during this time of isolation. Thank you for writing stories that give me hope and take my mind off of my anxiety. Thank you for making me laugh even when I don’t think it’s possible. Thank you for giving me something to be excited about when it feels like the world is falling apart around me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The Grey’s Problem
I just... I just miss season 6 of Greys. Like 2-8 were the prime. Once they lost Lexie and Mark it got significantly worse. Callie was the final draw. I loved Amelia in Private Practice but hate how her character has been handled in Greys. I held on for April but now she’s gone too. And now with Alex....
Ellen Pompeo is wonderful but where she really shined was when she was able to work off of certain actors and characters. Meredith Grey is only at her best with a few key people otherwise she seems out of character.
Out of 16 seasons the character I hated the most was Izzie Stevens. She had terrible decisions and blamed everyone else for them. Her love stories were forced and based on her being in love with the idea of love, not the actual person. She made everyone around her worse but no one would ever admit it. Her one solid story line (no, not Denny. Loved him as a character but too good for Izzie) was dropped almost immediately. If they had spent season 2 on Izzie’s progression into OB and neonatal surgery and made Addison her mentor/foil I would have actually liked her more. She was terrible to Callie (my favorite character) long after everyone got used to her presence and ruined her (albeit misguided) relationship with George (another underutilized favorite of mine)
To have Alex, my second favorite character and one of the best character developements in TV, end up with Izzie is a betrayal of his beautifully written character. I don’t fault Justin Chambers for leaving, whatever his reasoning, but I would rather he have been killed off or offered a position with Christina or something than end up with Izzie.
What should have been endgame: April and Jackson (though I’m not mad about Matthew), Meredith and Derek (obvs), Callie and Arizona (but they still might offscreen), Mark and Lexie (should have had a happy ending with a million kids), Alex and Jo (even though it should end have ended ambiguously) and Christina and science (no negotiations. She has proven that she is happier when she is focusing on work and that is valid)
In conclusion: this should have ended around season 10 when Christina left and everyone was in a good place. George should have lived and Izzie should have been killed off (why didn’t they just do that? George already had an easy exit set up. The shock factor? Weak excuse). Alex has been screwed over and deserved a much better send off.
Disclaimer: I haven’t been watching the last few seasons but I know what’s going on. My mom watches it religiously and has since the beginning. She doesn’t get as attached to characters and shows as I do but is still annoyed.

I voted for the first time on Tuesday and I voted for Elizabeth Warren. Not because I thought she would win the nomination but because I wanted the first time I voted to be for someone I really felt passionate about. I like both Bernie and Joe fine (even if I can’t really imagine Bernie as president and think they’re both too old) but Elizabeth was one of the only people in the race that I truly WANTED to be president, not just would tolerate. But I glad she’s staying my senator. She can do a lot of good where she is. ❤️
I am utterly heartbroken. We didn’t deserve her. But we are so lucky to have her fighting in the Senate.

Every story is allowed a few alterations. A few changes that will still allow the end to be the end. Just a couple of rewrites. But what happens when one of those minor changes turns out to not be so minor?
The Emperor gets fed up with Alderaan's blatant support of the Rebel Alliance and decides to wipe it out before it becomes a problem. A drastic attack on the normally peaceful planet of creates WAY more problems for the Empire than it fixes. Leia Organna is smuggled of world but her father friend, Fulcrum, and taken to Tatooine for her protection. Friends and family who were destined to never see each other again reunite. Paths long thought closed reopen just in time to save the day, the Skywalker family, and the universe.
Part AU, part canon divergence. I take some liberties with canon but stick to some important rules.
