My dads becoming best friends would be a dream come true. You’re right, and it’s quite safer too, which is always a good thing no matter what people could say about it.

We expect everyone to enjoy our cuisine and at least give it a go when they come to Maine – have you ever known a tourist to not try lobster? – so we might as well at least give it a taste. No shame in saying no afterwards! I feel like it would’ve been a massive disappointment if it wasn’t good, so that’s always such a relief! Got any plans for your second week?

I can’t blame tourists for trying lobster when they’re in our town -- that’s one of the first things I tried when I first got there. I was a little cliché, but I’ve never regreted cause that was very good and I still go get some when I feel like it. How have you been?

It would be very, very expensive, definitely more than the furniture itself costs. I’m glad you’ve had a good time, because I’ve mostly been falling on my ass the whole while.

Outch, that sounds a bit painful indeed! The good thing is that we’re home now, so you don’t have to go on the slopes again, you can go back to your other and less dangerous hobbies.

I can only imagine, when you’re used to seeing someone all the time and spending time with them, it’s a bit weird when that’s suddenly not there anymore. I’m sure that he appreciates it and getting the chance to spend time with you, too! Absolutely not, I’d put up a fight, and I have a feeling people would back me up and help me achieve my goal, too!

Especially after several decades, but Merrock was the change I needed when I decided to move and I think my father has always understood and respected that. That said, we’re always super happy to be able to spend some time together! So, how many people did it take to convince you to come back home with the rest of us?

Time usually does work wonders so long as we give it time to do just that. Figure you’re not going anywhere so you have that time. Plus like I said you’re a good bloke. Families are just stubborn sometimes, take it from the one in my family that is usually being call the overly stubborn one herself! … I like to read? True crime… more mob stuff than you realize? Yeah. The suits is probably one of the better things you can get from mob bosses if you were going to take any kind of characteristics from them. Think the important ones of you know not committing crimes is what matters. It’s been nice to be somewhere closer to England again – while I know it’s not next door it feel familiar, plus ability to get a proper cup of tea again? True happiness right there. 

I surely understand that. I can be quite stubborn, myself. I mean, I barely talked to my mother for years mostly because she got a new boyfriend and moved out of the country -- which was a very very stupid way to act. That’s fun, I never thought you’d be a true crime person! But I agree, the suits are okay, committing crimes isn’t. I’ll behave. Ugh, I miss our tea so much. I always have some in my cupboards but it doesn’t taste the same.

I’m sure he will. One day he’ll fly to Merrock, he’ll meet you and everything will become clear to him. Did you end up learning snowboard while we were in Finland or is that a plan for the rest of winter here in town?

Which is worse, gaining a reputation for being evil, or having your mother scold you for being evil? Because honestly… I lean towards thinking that the latter might be pretty bad, I know how stern parents can be! There is that big party coming up later this week. I’m not sure that it’s a dancing and jiving kind of party, but we could always give it a go, right? Maybe we’ll get everyone else in the dancing mood, too.

Mh, that’s a good question. I actually think that the reputation would be worse. My mother would probably tell me off for ten minutes, telling me that this town has welcomed me so I can’t be mean to Merrock. But then she’d probably move on. My mum and I -- we used to have a complicated relationship. So we both try to not hold a grudge over tiny things like that. You know what -- we should give some dancing lessons in town.

“They would either believe it’s fake, or fall in love with the pictures and book a ticket right away. Which is the best thing to do, of course.” he said as he got up and grabbed the handle of his luggage from one hand, using the other one to shake Darrius’ hand. “I do”, Theo nodded. “It’s nice to meet you, Darrius. And a bit weird to meet people from the town when we’re actually away from it.” he chuckled.

Oh it’s totally my fault. Maybe I should see if I could find myself a twenty something fancy dude? Oh I’ll invite you, it doesn’t only depend on him. I do want to go on a hike, how did you know that? I’m surprised you’re offering. We’re going to have dinner with my brother - with Cage while we’re in Finland. So prepare for that? I mean, he agreed to it so that’s a first step to…whatever? 

Well, I’d rather not. I don’t think I’ll ever see you turn down a hike so that was easy! But hey, it was a good way to explore Finland, other than skiing, so I’m glad we went out. Believe it or not, I don’t feel that threatened around your brother, now. I mean, I’m still sure that he would kill me if he had to but we can have dinner without it being too awkward, I believe.

Fair point, you’d probably have some trouble flying back home with furniture anyway. Or at least it’d cost a lot of money. I am! I’ve always loved it so I’m happy we get to hit the slopes as much as we want, here. Have you improved a little since we’re here?

Well, he’ll probably ask me why I picked a frog as a second dad but I’ll tell him great things about you and he’ll get over it. Both! But I like skiing a little bit more. Do you do both, too?

Sometimes just going home and doing home-like things is a really good feeling, you don’t have to do anything out of the ordinary, right? Probably, they’re going to have to drag me to the plane, and then back off of the plane, that’s what I was telling someone earlier, too!

Exactly. And my father has always been a huge part of my life so not seeing him as often as before is still a bit weird, so I take all the opportunities I get to pay him a visit. Well I hope they are ready for it because you don’t seem to be someone who would let them kick you out that easily!

I have, actually! It’s not that bad, but a lot different from the beef that we’re used to eating back in the States. But you know how it goes, try what the locals tell you to sample, right? I have had quite a bit of fish, too! And cheeses, they have decent cheese. I would not complain at all about any chocolate coming my way, though.

I can imagine! It seems that it has a stronger taste than beef. But I still think that trying what the locals do is the best idea when you’re traveling abroad, right? We’re here to discover another culture after all. Me neither, and I’ve tried their chocolate, it’s pretty good!

I will! And I’ll demand that they take care of you and not let you leave until you’re back to normal, regular Theodore. I’m trusting you with that one! Plus, I feel like if you were rude to them, they wouldn’t come back around and would probably be spreading rumors all around town about how evil you are. And I haven’t heard anything about that. I think it involves dancing around, holding your hands up like horns, but don’t verify that.

Thank you very much, I’m glad to hear that you’ll make sure I turned into ol’ me again. Oh that would be terrible. First because I don’t want anyone to say I’m evil cause that’d be terrible for the business and for myself. And also because my mother would probably tell me off if she heard such things. Well, we can try those dance moves! We just need some good music, or even better: a party to attend.

Older brothers are always going to be protective, it’s just in their nature. I’m sure as time goes on it’ll get better – easier. Just maybe keep an eye on where you’re staying and make sure you’re far away from where they’re bunking down! Double check that doors are locked, don’t wander into the woods alone – I’m kidding! You’re gonna be fine Theo, I promise. Well… I mean is there a general look for mob bosses? Sure maybe movies portray them but trust me, they don’t look one specific way – I – uh don’t ask how I know that. That’s the point of being a mob boss though! You have others to do your business for you! Finland is treating me pretty well, very cold, but been good so far. How about you? 

That’s what I figured out. Let’s hope that time will do wonders. Thank you for the advice, Fallon! I’ll keep being extra careful, don’t worry. You seem to know many things about mob bosses, should I get worried? But yeah, if we believe what Hollywood tells us, there are some specific mob boss profiles. And I don’t think I have their characteristics -- except maybe for the suits, I have some nice ones. Finland is treating me well, too! I have a lot of fun, which is obviously very nice.
