Zutara Week 2022 Day 1: Tradition
Unfortunately this is the only prompt I was able to get done this year. I really wish I had been able to do them all (it’s tragic because I even have some roughs for mini animatics for almost every day ToT who knows maybe I’ll finish them one of these days), but alas I ran out of time and energy just getting off of a project and being in my 9th month of pregnancy. But hey wouldn’t it be fun if my baby was born during this year’s Zutara Week. lol Anywho, just a very short little mini-animatic for this prompt.
Dedicated to the ZDAS, you all are still very much in my thoughts. n.n

rereading the lunar chronicles and there are some truly underrated moments that are never talked about enough in fandom
when scarlet’s Mom Friend Instinct kicked in and she asked the others to remember that cress was socially awkward and adjusting
thorne being endeared and fondly amused by cress’s enthusiastic description of basic things like the sky and sand and animals
jacin and scarlet having nicknames for each other (“firework” and “sunshine”)
winter’s intense natural beauty leading scarlet to blush
wolf understanding and forgiving cinder for mind controlling him because she did what she had to do even if he was still resentful
wolf being proud of cinder landing a punch in their combat practices
cress telling wolf about the concept of alpha being the “brightest star” and them bonding over this
thorne’s constant flirtation in his platonic relationships (iko, cinder, even kai at some point)
thorne gushing over how handsome kai is and giving him stupid nicknames (“your imperial psychologist”)
thorne and kai bonding over the ride back to earth/kai supporting thorne’s feelings for cress and admitting he liked thorne against his better judgement
cress observing that thorne valued kai’s opinion more than he let on
cress and scarlet observing that cinder was not nearly as confident as she pretended to be (indicating that scarlet and cress know cinder well enough from their time together to see her vulnerabilities)
jacin protecting cress AND swearing cress under his protection, basically calling her his second most important person (next to winter and winter only, which is actually a pretty big deal and an honor for cress given that cinder once described jacin as an emotional black hole)
cinder being reminded of thorne when jacin joked about being hired as a guard for his handsome looks
cinder fretting over wolf when he was injured
cinder missing thorne and mourning his loss when she believed he was dead
CINDER AND THORNE LITERALLY HIGH FIVING DURING HER CORONATION AKA ONE OF THE MOST HISTORIC AND IMPORTANT EVENTS ON LUNA
thorne punching jacin for his betrayal and then immediately hugging him because he protected cress
winter calling kai her father to tease him
kai’s reaction to winter’s beauty kdjhflldskfldf (he’s loyal to cinder obvs but it was just very funny)
kai’s terrible attempt at comforting wolf and promising to find scarlet
cinder being worried about wolf not eating (from personal experience i believe that’s one of the most tender aspects of friendship uwu)
cress noticing this and forcing wolf to eat a sandwich

Things I learn through writing: Motivation to Write
Here’s the thing: writer’s block does not actually exist in the way you would think. Having a block in your story basically means that you do not know what to write next, so before writing plan AHEAD so you know what to write next. Waiting for that spark may take you a long time to get writing again, so it is important to push yourself. Don’t wait for the right motivation! The tough thing is that motivation is not always going to get you places. Sometimes you just need force yourself to write and get that draft done. Motivation is kind of like a drug, it may seem good at first and will improve your life. Later on relying it on our only source of inspiration will not do good. However we cannot rely on pure motivational spurts to get work done. Start in small chunks and pummel through it. If you need to take breaks, that is OKAY too. How can I get work done? There isn’t really a specific answer. Here are some tips I know:
1) write with a group of friends and hold each other accountable
2) gamify it and do writing sprints
3) set goals and reward yourself when you finish one
Writer’s block is tough, but we can all get through it!

There friendship is so wholesome. Like imagine: The big, handsome, broody and intimidating Emo guy with the overly happy go lucky, sweet, fellow. The fact that Mr. Darcy is shown to be cold but is also very concerned about his emergetic’s friend’s well being is so wholesome. Idk I just like friendships that are polar opposites.
