The Kimura Yakuza
Seiko Kimura was the daughter and heiress of a Yakuza that was well known in Japan. The Ultimate Yakuza. She was a tough girl, someone no one should mess with. Their symbol was butterfly in a web.
After being homeschooling as a child and being scouted in middle school, she found herself in Hope's Peak. Most students would clear away from her. Despite her frame, dhe could easily take someone out. Like a reserve student did.
The boy had touched her butt, smirking to see how she would react. Without hesitation, Seiko turned around with a dark glare at her eyes. Her hair tendrils wavered, showing her anger. She slapped the boy, then grabbed him roughly to kick his stomach. The boy groaned in pain. She was strong.
The girl lowered her gaze at the reserve student. "You're lucky I haven't contacted my family for that action. The next time you try pulling shit on me, you'll wish I kicked your ass again. Got it?" She spat at him, walking away, leaving the perverted boy groaning in pain.
Seiko was heading to her class, rubbing her temples. "Ugh... perverts... he should be thankful I didn't murder him. If I could kill him, I would." She soon entered and went to find her desk.

the leitmotif in the calm/non-frenzy version of Defective plays in association with both the Emblems and Past Alear
that leitmotif only plays in the Emblems' and Past Alear’s themes + the ring chamber theme
and in the calm version of "Defective", it's muffled and plays at the same tempo as in "Memories of Red Days" (Past Alear’s theme), but in the same key as the Emblems' version
(the leitmotif plays in minor key in "Memories of Red Days" iirc)
HMMMMM i wonder if there's any significance in Past Alear and the Emblems sharing a leitmotif (it's the title theme too i forgot to mention lol)
also "The Twelve Stars" (the Emblems' theme) is just the leitmotif with synth pads in the background. guess what other theme fits that description
"Memories of Red Days" :D
the differences are 1) "Memories of Red Days" is in minor key, 2) "The Twelve Stars" uses reverse synth pads + a lot of reverb while "Memories of Red Days" compresses its synth pads a bit to make them sound crunchier, and 3) "Memories of Red Days" is at a significantly faster tempo
continuing on this point, "Memories of Red Days" seems to be an intentional corruption of "The Twelve Stars"; "The Twelve Stars" slow tempo, soft instrumentation + mixing, and major key makes it very soothing while "Red Days" is very. idk how to describe it. not-soothing lol
something something Alear is the only FE protag (gonna have to fact check this one) to start out unquestionably villainous* *as in they're on the villain's side and there's no argument to be made about that. it's not a matter of perspective (i dont wanna get into 3H discourse), and as far as we know Alear has always served under Sombron since childhood
Past Alear is the "red" version of an FE protagonist and this is reflected in "Memories of Red days" and "The Twelve Stars" is what i'm trying to say lol
(this is also reinforced in the bad ending, where Alear’s Dark Emblem form is Past Alear)
Tumblr media
there is also a segment of "Defective" that is basically the Dies Irae motif, but ascending instead of descending
dies irae is commonly used to symbolize death in music :) and it's playing on an organ too
organs are traditionally associated with religion/divinity, especially in video game music, but video games also like to use them to represent evil as well
hmmm i wonder how the organ playing Dies Irae could possibly connect back to the context of "Defective"
anyway yeah there's my ramble about leitmotifs in "Defective" LOL

Imagine, if you will, a twin au of Engage where one Alear (take your pick) ends up getting adopted by Lumera, kills Sombron, same as the main game and ends up in essentially a coma, and during that time Lumera rescues/finds the other Alear (let’s call them Raela, for the sake of this post or I’ll go insane), adopts them… and it’s a thousand years of Alear’s mom and long-lost sibling waiting for them to wake up. Also Clanne and Framme are each assigned to one of the fell twins.
But notably, Alear in the game becomes half divine and half fell due to Lumera saving their life with some of herself… which would mean that the other twin is still a full fell dragon and is very conscious of that fact. And although it’s been a thousand years and nobody would really know that Raela is fell, especially if Lumera introduced them as divine, Raela is still too scared to face the possibility of being confronted for their heritage so they’ve basically been hiding out in Lythos and there’s just rumors of some random red-haired kid sometimes being briefly spotted there during royal visits.
Also consider the pure angst of Raela remembering the horrible entirety of their life while Alear doesn’t. I feel like Raela would keep it all bottled up because it’s a chance for Alear to live a normal (or… somewhat normal-ish? Less trauma-y?), happy life.

honestly it’s criminal that nobody has written anything with emblem Robin comforting/talking to Alear when he discovers he’s actually a fell dragon
I think Robin would, with his experience, be pretty good at proving to Alear that just because he’s fell doesn’t mean he’s evil.

I want a video game based off Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, but not like about genetic engineering and manipulation ethics.
Like an on Earth open world game where you make a character and are in charge of a fleet. Where you can choose to be Neutral or a pirate and you just sail around gathering resources and surviving.
Kind of like Raft but with other online players set in the Gargantia universe.

History of Step
What is Stepping?
What is Step?
Stepping or step dancing is “a percussive dance in which the participant’s body is used to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand-claps,” writes the African American Registry.
Step has its origins in Africa, as dancing has been a large part of traditional African culture for centuries.
Calling Step a "bizarre silent dance without music" has to be one of the wilder antiblack racist descriptions I've ever heard of stepping lmao. Anyway if you see the video, it's step!!! They're stepping!! It's a Black American form of dance!!
