"The puzzle solving in this game begins the moment the player starts to think about where they want to go, how they want to get there, and what they will do when they arrive"
Been a fan and observer of games as art for about 20 years and this was the first time I actually gasped at a game reveal. Fucking unreal.
i just can’t get over how lush and alive the world in the teaser is
when Aonuma’s talking and it’s just an image on the wall behind him it’s not a still image
every blade of grass and every tree branch is shaking in a gentle breeze. tiny butterflies flit in and out of the flowers. early morning mist rises from behind the edge of the hill. the huge shadows of fucking clouds roll across the land and change its color
do you even fucking realize what that means, how big a deal it is that the clouds are moving like that
the clouds are fucking independent entities from the actual skybox or at the very least the skybox is animated with dozens of frames and the shading on the ground changes to match
just. the ambition of that. the ambition of this fucking gameworld is astronomical
i have never, ever, in all my years of being downright obsessed with video games, not once come across a gameworld as luxuriant and lively as the one hinted at in the E3 teaser for Zelda U
gameworlds are so stiff generally but this one breathes
So Gone Girl was amazing and insane and hit me harder than I thought it would. Turns out Amy Dunne is basically my ex girlfriend X 1,000. Bitches be crazy, man. Amazing film though, still got chills. My boy Trent on the soundtrack too, fucking superb.
I picked most of them up from my local record store on their release days, except Far Nearer, Bloom pt 3 & We're New Here which I pre ordered from the Jamie xx site :)
