More sculpting. Added clay to the sides of the nose, made the eye places more even and fixed a few dents.

The puppet head sculpt and the hands. I smoothed them the best I could with isopropyl alcohol (plasticine, which i am using to sculpt, is oil based sculptural clay which does not dry. If I had used water, it would have beaded and dripped off because oil and water don’t mix) it is also reusable. I will be using these sculptures to make plaster molds and cast parts from wood filler.

I do not have the words to express just how wonderful Carrie Robbins was, Nor the depth of my gratitude for her being willing to take time out of her personal life to speak to me. But I do know this. She was incredibly talented and creative, a wonderful artist as well as a truly great person. I had the incredible privilege of talking to her personally for several years, and although we were not friends, there is no one like her. She has and will impact me for the rest of my life, and I cannot thank her enough for her support and the inspiration she has given me, especially with my own work on Raggedy Ann, as well as with RARE. So, I end with this. Carrie, may your memory be a blessing. may your wisdom echo through generations of Artists as one of the greats. And I hope one day I will meet you again.

Test fit of Robert’s sailor suit. When completed it will have metal buttons. Right now things are secured by pins.

My latest project, a 40” fully jointed replica of Robert the doll. I will be dressing him in a sailor suit made from a vintage children’s clothes pattern and also making him his companion, Leo the lion. He will most likely be available on my Etsy shop when finished for the paranormal fans out there.

hi!! i just wanna say I absolutely adore your work!! but I was wondering how you make the yarn hair for all your dolls look so amazing?? I’ve tried a few times with no luck, but I haven’t been making dolls for long haha (also sorry if this question has already been asked, i sadly couldn’t find it)
Hi! I sew the yarn to a piece of felt before sewing the felt to the head and then styling the yarn afterwards. It lets me make the hair thick enough so there’s no bald spots. Thanks for the ask!
