T H E C H E L S E A
Located at 222 West 23rd street in New York City is the Hotel Chelsea. Built in 1884, this hotel has been subject of many songs and novels, been the center to man television shows and movies, and also has been home to many celebrities since it’s grand opening. A large group of young men now call this grand building home. Every one of them is aspiring something great, some attend NYU only less than a mile and a half away, some are aspiring artists and musicians. These men will do something with their lives, and if they don’t mom and dad will use their fat wallets to make up for it.

THANK YOU! To everyone who stopped by at any point during this quick reunion, old and new members alike, it was great having you! We loved revisiting old story lines and reconnecting with old players we hadn’t been in touch with since the Chelsea closed.

After a fiery city council meeting where residents of New York and The Chelsea all argued back and forth about the future standing of The Chelsea, everyone was left wondering where everything would come to stand.
The owners of the Chelsea decided to welcome everyone into the new year by posting notices to evacuate on everyone’s door at midnight on 12/31. That means everyone, including our penthouse residents, must evacuate the premises by 1/3/2020.
There isn’t only bad news. City council has ordered all demolition efforts to be halted while they continue to deliberate. So we will have an empty Chelsea, but a Chelsea nonetheless.
OOC: Hello friends! we’re there! We did it! we all came together for one last bit of fun and now we get to say goodbye forever. My sincere hope was to bring friends together and hope that you could have had some nostalgia make you smile.
On 1/3/20 The Chelsea will be closed again. You are of course welcomed to continue to play however you want to with whoever you want to, however the main and general guidance will no longer be there.

Hey all! For Secret Santa, please message the main by Tuesday 12/17 to state your participation. You will then receive the name of a character to shower with gifts.
How it’ll work: For the next week (Wednesday 12/18-12/25) you will send them smaller gifts everyday until the big reveal on 12/25. Feel free to send them dated gifts in case you’re traveling so they can have them ahead of time. The big reveal is an in-person surprise, so feel free to play it out after the holiday or even posting a starter on 12/24 for them if that’s easiest for you.

Tension at The Chelsea continue to increase as the date of demolition gets closer. A tenant-led petition to have city council host a town hall has been accepted and on 12/13, tenants and others will have a chance to argue for making The Chelsea a historic landmark.
Although things seemed to be on the side of those wanting to keep the building’s legacy alive, the building authorities weren’t so keen. On the night of 12/6, those residing on the fifth floor and below were all given a 3 days notice to vacate the premises. Word is that the next three floors will receive the same notice soon until they reach the 12th floor.
In an odd twist of things, the building has also announced a secret-santa event, and encourage those getting evicted to continue to participate even after their eviction. Details to follow.

If your character resides in the “evicted” floors, you may stay and defy the order, or move out (however your character manages to: room up with someone, move out the building, etc), you will still be able to take part of the RP if your character chooses the latter.

Gobble gobble! It’s that beautiful time of the year again where we have an excuse to eat our heart out. Some members of our community aren’t as lucky however, and we have decided to bring the spirit of charity to Christmas.
Here’s our challenge: Each resident must pair up with one more person in order to craft the best thanksgiving menu they can (samples of each menu item included), after cooking them with all the love in the world, submit your menu to the main and the winner will get a very special prize!
All the food will be donated to charity, so nothing will go to waste. Your partner cannot be your significant other, we want to encourage everyone to come out of their shell for a good cause. You have until Thanksgiving (Sunday in RP time) to submit your menus. Happy cooking!
