STOP SEXUALISING APHRODITE
Stop Sexualising Aphrodite. Stop Making Aphrodite Trand-phobic!
I have seen this over and over and over. Young and old witches do this, not just beginners, but people who call themselves experienced and well rounded in this community. It’s disgusting and has to stop.
Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty, and procreation. She is not the goddess of women, or of pussy.
People are treating her as the goddess of sex and woman, especially women protrayed in a sexual way, and this is just not what she represents. For example, the other day I saw a post titled “Aphrodite wants you to love your pussy,” and then went on to say, “Your vagina, vulva, clit, and all.” ???
???
Since when is she the goddess of pussy???
Furthermore, posts that begin with things like the above tend to go on to say or have comments stating that she only cares about or loves female women. This is not true. APHRODITE IS NOT THE GODDESS OF WOMEN OR FEMALES. SHE IS THE GODDESS OF LOVE, BEAUTY, AND PROCREATION.
You cannot exclude trans women from worshipping Aphrodite. You cannot exclude men, males, or transmen from worshipping Aphrodite. And STOP reducing her to be “the goddess of pussy.” It’s disrespectful and really offends people who take their religion seriously.
Keep your transphobic, third wave feminist rhetoric out of Pagan, Wiccan, and witchcraft communities!

Imbolc creativity spell
Tomorrow is Imbolc, also known as Candlemas. This candle spell is to draw inpiration and creativity towards you!
What you need:
🕯 an orange candle or creativity spell candle
What you do:
Find a quiet place where you can comfortably sit and see the candleflame.
Light the candle (Optional: as you light it, say “Brighid, Lady of the eternal flame, I light this fire in your name”)
Sit in front of the candle for a while, watching the flame dance, grow and flicker. Visualize that the sparks of the candle are the sparks within you. Igniting, growing, warming and rising.
Say the following spell:
“I am a force of creation,
Of creativity and motivation.
I stoke my inner spark into a fire,
Let the flames grow ever higher.
Inspiration flows through me,
As I say, so shall it be.”
Now sit there a moment longer, enjoying the light. Feel your flame growing and the inspiration flowing.
Create! Either do it now and let the candle burn up, or light the candle whenever you start crafting/writing/singing/whatever!

Newbie Devotee Challenge day 7
Well my UPGs with Astarte are normally more feelings than anything else. A lot of it is feelings in tarot but some is just an idea to stay away from someone or that I should do something. These feelings come along with a sense of tightness which I believe comes from Astarte. In my research into others UPGs I found nothing for Astarte which is saddening.

My least favorite myth about Astarte is when she was part of a trick made by Epigieus against Elus her brother. The trick failed and her and her sisters were made Eluses wives. I don’t like this myth because it makes Astarte but a piece in the twos chess game though I guess you could look at it as her wanting to help Epigieus even if it in the end failed.

Things I already knew about Astarte.
Bull horns- I feel as if the bull horns fit with who she is and how she is known as a goddess of war.
The colors red pink green and silver- the colors red pink and fit with her sensuality and silver goes with her astrological part and the green represents fertility.
The planet Venus- venus fits because it represents sensuality.
Doves- doves go with her sensuality as they represent in many religions love.
Stars and the moon - Astarte is known as the mother of the universe and I think her symbols of the stars and the moon fit that.
Things I had to research about Astarte.
Lions horses and sphinxes- I don’t quite know how these three animals fit with who she is other than maybe they’re part of life which fits with fertility.
Eggs- I think that eggs fit with Astarte because they represent fertility.

Astarte has many different names spanning through many religions she’s been called athtart ashtart ashtoreth astroarche ashtarot astart attart ashtoret she is also known as either Venus or Diana in Roman culture though there isn’t a confirmed answer on which she is also know as either Aphrodite or Artemis. The name I call her by is Astarte because this specific name is the one I realated and felt closest to I felt as if Astarte had reached out to me on this one with her name.

Well originally I got help from an amazing tarot reader who read my cards and she suggested a few goddesss that may have been my deity then I did a few readings of my own with my broader blunter deck and started researching I then found Astarte who was amazing and embodied many things I believe are important. Then I did another tarot reading with my deck that does more personal precise readings and felt that someone was communicating with me through the cards that yes Astarte was right and she would help me.
