The way that Sam Winchester is so KIND. The way he forgives. The way he cares so deeply about everybody. The way he sees the good in people, no matter what. The way he looks at people beyond a surface level. The way he would never judge a soul for any part of themselves. The way he has gone through trauma that can't even be put into words yet he will never invalidate or belittle what others have been through. The way Sam Winchester is so good and yet he is so convinced he is anything but.

"You didn't save me for me, you saved me for you!"
This, this has been their entire relationship, Dean can't handle being alone, he can't handle getting hurt. He didn't save Sam for Sam, he saved Sam because he's selfish and without Sam he doesn't have anyone else. He got Kevin killed, he keeps pushing Cas away. Dean can't handle being alone and Sam has to pay the price of it. Every time.
Season 9 episode 14

cas is sooooo normal abt sam "But come near Sam Winchester and I'll kill you." "You are not taking Sam Winchester. I won't let you." <- completely normal and platonic things to say

Cas rarely gets to sit shotgun in the Impala, much less drive, mainly because Dean is very controlling and possessive and considers something like this to be a privilege earned that he uses against Sam and Cas on multiple occasions throughout the series. In 14x15 Peace of Mind, we see that Cas is the one who's driven (I think in his own car) him and Sam over to town for the case that they're on, and the matter of who's going to drive isn't a discussion, nor is it an argument that is deemed necessary to be shown on screen. This is yet another example of how Sam and Cas consider each other equals and how their relationship is not defined by who is the caretaker/controller and who is the controlled, and how Sam sees Cas as a whole person who can be trusted and depended on. In this essay I will-

We all HORRENDOUSLY overlook the fact that Sam has canonically been told by his mom to put his damn iPad away while they're at the dinner table. That's so fucking funny Sam Winchester thirty-four year old ipad kid.

My take of the day. Castiel truly becomes a Winchester in the sense that he also perpetuates the cycle of being unwilling to let either of them die. His unwillingness to let Sam stay in the cage at the end of Season 5 is what made the next 10 seasons possible, and that's an action of love, just like every time Dean and Sam save each other. He becomes just as entrenched in the cyclical self sacrifice. *eyes born again identity*

Charlie calling out Dean about dragging Sam back into hunting and sending Sam a fake text from Amelia is everything I needed.

do you ever think about how terrifying sam and dean would actually be?
they’re both physically intimidating with sam standing at 6’5 and dean at 6’1. they'd both be covered from head to toe in countless scars, scrapes, and bruises and they’d swear like sailors unlike in the show. they’d always be armed with at least one gun and knife, and they wouldn’t hide it. they’d have that look some people get after they've been through some bad trauma. shifty eyes that are always looking for the best escape route along with their trigger-happy hands that shoot first and ask questions later. if they showed up at my door i wouldn’t know whether to blush or run away

Can we please take a moment to remember the fact that Misha was asked all the way back in 2012 why Cas saved Sam from the Cage and the answer was literally just "Cas loves Sam". I feel like we as a people need to just remember that every so often bc apparently spnblr cannot be trusted with Sam and Cas's relationship otherwise

'nooo narcissists are all abusers and need to die for our society to be okay' how dare you
i did not survive torture and trafficking and develop this disorder as a result just for you all to call me an abuse enabler and a soulless monster
go fuck yourself actually. i developed this disorder because i was ABUSED and TORTURED and it is actually fucking disgusting that you would tell an entire group of victims of horrific child abuse that we are inherently evil because of something out of our control
your abusers weren't abusive because they had npd. they were abusive because they were abusers. how fucking dare you accuse me of enabling abuse when i went into cardiac arrest and almost died because of the abuse i faced as a child

Sam buying Beyond meat and making burgers and not telling Dean.
Dean taking a big bite and getting just a little confused... it doesn't taste wrong or bad, but it's definitely not normal. But maybe that's just because Sam doesn't usually cook, maybe Sam seasoned the burgers different.
Sam hiding a smile at successfully fighting Dean's impending heart disease for one meal.
Dean discovering the packaging in the garbage and cooking up more bacon than anyone should eat in one sitting just so he can eat it in front of Sam.
Sam going back to the drawing board.

Between Dean and Sam: who prefers to be liked, and who prefers to be right?
in regards to conflict with other people, i think dean prefers to be liked and sam prefers to be right. dean is kind of a people pleaser, who relies on his charisma and wit to get out of pretty much any situation, so its important to him that people like him. i think he's more willing to lie to people than sam, and be like "yeah, sure, you're so right" to some rando at a bar just to avoid a big argument, as opposed to sam. sam doesn't know how to leave well enough alone. even if he knows its better to let something go, he won't, he'll keep persisting until the other person has changed their mind. he seems like the type to get into long-winded arguments online about really niche subjects and not be able to let it go. like he'd be up on r/ghosthunting or something arguing about the uses of rock salt.
however i think when sam and dean are around each other these positions sort of flip--there's a lot of moments in the early seasons where dean will start being passive aggressive or belligerent to cops, witnesses, morticians, etc., and sam is the one to placate and people please in order to get what they want. i think dean gets frustrated when he knows he's right and people aren't listening to him, but will give up much more easily because he assumes most people are just too stupid to understand. i think the reason they flip is at the end of the day they can kind of read each others' minds, and know how to balance each other out depending on the situation.

the fact that we as a society have the muppets and they are not everywhere in our cultural consciousness is appalling. why aren't the muppets hosting the oscars. why aren't the muppets commentating the olympics. why aren't the muppets coming to a theatre near me every year with a new adaptation of a classic novel. genuinely what are we doing.

I actually really like Mark's Lucifer from beginning to start but there's something about Jared's Lucifer that hit a very peculiar place
I feel in Sam's body, Lucifer is the most himself, the most celestial, the most angelic and honest. He is elegant yet dreadful, he is powerful, monstrous yet made out of light, he is son of god, he is a higher being who had so much love and hatred and carried it all for eons.
In fact Mark also plays this so perfectly bc the Lucifer we see in Nick's body in person is imo different from the Lucifer in Sam's dream. He was so gentle in that dream, gentle but imposing. You cannot escape him but he is not taunting and chasing. THIS is what matches Jared's Sam too. That graceful terror. That is the truest nature of Lucifer, the bringer of light, the doom of mankind.
