has stolen clips from my videos and uses them in their own movies. I’m not sure if they’ve stolen from other people’s work as well, but if you are a creator of Durarara AMVs or watch Durarara AMVs on a daily basis, please check out their work to make sure they have not taken from your videos as well.
As a video editor, I understand how much work people put into their videos. It takes me generally at least a week to get the basis of a video, but that all depends on time, inspiration, what effects I’m using, and how much of a song I’m doing. There is a lot more to making iMovies than what most people think; timing in itself if a chore, along with getting the scenes to start with. Then there is cutting down the scenes to the amount you want, speeding them up or slowing them down if needed, adding kens burns effects, transitions, and adding other effects to the coloring all adds up.
My work is literally my pride and joy. I make no money off of my videos, and I don’t plan to. All I like to see is that people are enjoying my movies, whether it makes them cry, laugh, or even spur them to try out new shows. I’m proud to say that I’ve done these things with my videos, and the moments when I read comments like those are the ones that make me want to continue creating iMovies and editing videos.
This, however, makes me want to do the opposite. Whether it’s art, writing, or in this case, clips I edited and have in my videos, NO ONE should steal someone else’s work without permission or notifying the creator and claim it is their own. The worst part is when other people praise them for work that isn’t even theirs.
This channel has done this, and I commented on one of their videos which was already made private. I thought that would be the end of the situation, but today I thought it might be best to check out some of their other Durarara videos. Sure enough, they have multiple clips from my videos. Even if they are cut apart and put with different audio, I know what work is mine, and I am sure they stole from me.
If you are subscribed to this channel, I’d like to ask that you unsubscribe, or at least reblog this post. This is the second time I’ve dealt with people stealing my work, but the first time was only a single video and was nothing like this. Please assist me in spreading the word on this; no one should have their hard work taken and posted by others.
