BPD culture is realising that no matter what you do the people around you and who you love and care about will always end up feeling like they need to walk on eggshells around you, no matter how hard you try to minimise or control or regulate your symptoms, because eventually you will show your symptoms because you cant hide and mask forever, and when that happens everything will be ruined.

“communication is key” i say, as i ghost all the people i care about because i cannot express my feelings due to trauma

Note
NPD + BPD culture is just being so tired of being nice and composed. I cannot express any bit of anger or frustration. I want to blow up but I know it won't end good

Note
BPD culture is constantly oscillating between “it’s kinda disproportionate to miss this person you only spent a few hours with to the degree you do” and “well actually we connected really well within those few hours and even if it’s not romantic, the conversation we had was full of an insane level of trust for a first meeting”
And neither of those thoughts stop the feeling of just clutching your chest because you miss this person that you just love now. Platonically? Romantically? Something in between? Who cares, they’re a person you love now!
.

Note
Cluster B culture is feeling things so intensely that it makes you wonder if everyone else is actually incapable of having feelings at all. Like, “If the missing I feel for this person feels like this, and it’s completely unparalleled, then other people must not feel any degree of missing anyone ever. The only way I could ‘be chill’ about this is if I didn’t have this emotion at all, so the fact that they are chill about what they’re claiming to feel must mean they don’t actually feel it and are just pretending to. Otherwise, if they really felt it, they’d be in the same position as me.”

Differentiating between NPD and ASPD
Graph made by me using data from Stanton and Zimmerman, ‘Unique and Shared Features of Narcissistic and Antisocial Personality Disorders: Implications for Assessing and Modeling Externalizing Traits’, Journal of Clinical Psychology, 2019.
The ICD-11 and DSM-5 also list the following traits that can overlap or help differentiate between NPD and ASPD:
NPD:
Hypomania (”narc high”)
Extremely sensitive to criticism - may lead to a spiral of shame, humiliation, and self-criticism (”narc crash”)
Overestimating abilities while underestimating others’ abilities
Idealisation of others who are seen as special, important
Fragile self esteem
High expectations (of self and others)
Susceptible to eating disorders
May be unwilling to take risks or compete if there’s a chance of loosing (and therefore showing imperfections, flaws)
ASPD:
Poor planning skills
Unable to tolerate boredom (which is often intense)
Irritable
May have a history of some Conduct Disorder symptoms in adolescence
Callous, cynical, ruthless
Susceptible to anxiety
Has concern for own needs and wants but not others’
Both:
Manipulative
Overestimating own abilities
Susceptible to substance abuse
Need to be right all the time
Excessively opinionated
Superficially charming
Requires admiration (excessively in NPD)
Attention seeking (in a positive or negative way)
Susceptible to depression

THE SYSCODE
the syscode (TSC / the system code) is a code that is meant for traumagenic systems to express their systemhood in a short string of emojis or letter combos!
the syscode was meant for those who are uncomfortable using the plc / plural c0de due to the mention of non traumagenic systems, but can be used by any traumagenic system as long as they are indeed traumagenic!
under the cut you will find the guide for how to make your own TSC string to put on your blog, carrd, or wherever you want to share it!
do keep in mind that there may be additions & changes added, which will all be posted in an update on this blog! feel free to send asks with suggestions!
HOW DO YOU USE TSC?
the TSC can be used on any site you wish to use it on, though i've seen codes like TSC mainly used in pinned posts / blog descriptions and carrds! an example of TSC would look something like this:
TSC: 🏕️ | ☀️ | 🍌 | 🦊 | 🔘 | 🌼 | 🍞 | ❤️🧡 | 💞 TSC: TW | MN | GY | PS | NA | DA | OW | AL HD | CL
it's highly recommended that you link this post back in your code or by your code somewhere so others can reference it!
THE CODE ITSELF:
VERSION: 1.0
MODIFIERS
? or ❔ = unsure / unaware, meant to be used in place of other code parts but can be used besides them if you have an idea, but aren't 100% sure of it! (for example: ex/ex/ex❔ or ex/ex/ex?)
X or ❌ = prefer not to say / skipped / information is private. used in place of other code parts (for example: ex/ex/❌/ex or ex/ex/X/ex
NA or 🔘 not applicable, for information categories that don't suit your system. used in place of other code parts (ex: look at X)
( ) or 💬 = extra text, used to add in extra information that can't be conveyed with the emoji alone (for example: 💬collectively masc or (collectively masc) )
multiple emojis / letter codes: you can use multiple emojis or letter codes in the same part of the string if you feel that multiple of the options fit you! (for example: 🐺🐯/ex/ex or DI PF/ex/ex

system ask game for traumagenic systems <3
I: basics
❤️ - what type of CDD do you have?
🧡 - are you medically recognised/diagnosed? if not, do you plan to? (no judgement either way!)
💛 - if you are comfortable sharing, what is your headcount? do you keep track of it?
💚 - do you have a high or low split tolerance?
💙 - do you switch frequently or do you go longer periods between switching?
💜 - does your system have introjects of any kind?
🩷 - do you have any subsystems?
II: alters
🎥 - who are your frequent fronters?
📼 - do you have any non-human alters? if yes, which species are the majority of them?
🎞️ - do the alters in your system use more medical coined roles or more community coined roles? or both/neither? do you find them useful?
📽️ - are the alters in your system more distinct or less distinct from each other?
📺 - do you make/buy gifts to other alters in the systems?
🎙️ - does the taste in music vary a lot between different alters?
📻 - does your system have any type of in system relationships? (familial, romantic, platonic etc.)
III: switching
☀️ - how much amnesia do you experience?
🌙 - do you experience black out amnesia?
⚡️ - what does switching feel like for you? does it vary between alters?
☄️ - do you experience quick switches or does it take longer to switch usually?
🌈 - do you get frontstuck often? what do you do to try to get ‘un-stuck’?
☁️ - do you ever not notice you’ve switched, and suddenly realise that ‘you haven’t been you’ for a while?
💦 - can you switch ‘on command’ or is that something that is hard for your system? does it depend on the alter?
IV: headspace
🌱 - do you have a headspace? if yes, describe it! if no, do you want one?
🌿 - how easily accessed is your headspace?
☘️ - is there a place in your headspace where dormant alters go?
🌳 - do alters have their own rooms/areas in your headspace?
🌵 - is your headspace big, or smaller? is it complex/less complex?
🍃 - do you have specific alters that cannot access headspace at all?
🪴 - did you have to build your headspace over time, or was it just there?
V: general
🍭 - how did you pick your system name?
🍪 - do you have a collective name/identity/orientation? if yes, how did your system make those decisions?
🍬 - what’s the funniest thing another alter has said to you? (internally or externally communicated)
🍫 - how does your system handle in system disagreements in general?
🧁 - is there anyone specific in your system you don’t get along with?
🍰 - are you ‘out’ as a system to anyone? (online friends/partners etc. count!)
🍦 - how good is your communication with the rest of the system? does it vary much between different alters?
🍡 - are different alters part of different subcultures? which ones? (we are!)
remember that this is just for fun, and if anything feels invasive you do not have to answer the question! feel free to replace any question with a fun fact about your system or anything if you don’t feel like answering something! take care🫶🏻

i don't know how to quantify the experience of being a system for singlets. i'm not sharing a body with several other people, we are all "me," and yet we are all our own people too, with hopes and dreams that don't fit together in a perfect puzzle. we're one and we're many. so different but the same.

Plural Culture is really wishing it was more normal in the community for certain alters to just not have identities
We have a lot of alters who don't have set identities, or only exist for very specific purposes and have no interest in trying to exist outside of that
But mentioning that is almost always met with "encourage them!! They deserve to have a set identity!!"
And that's true, but also not always something that's going to happen. Some alters just are never going to have a set identity because of the role they have and they're fine with that and we just wish it was more accepted. Or at least acceptable enough to talk about it
If those alters want identities later, they have every chance and right to make them. But they should also just be allowed to exist the way they do

Personally, as someone with NPD, I desperately want something bad to happen to me so that people will feel bad for me and stuff. I love labels too, which I feel makes people think I'm faking everything and only identify with stuff purely because like labels, but I only use labels I identify with and I love it
Idk if this makes sense
[It does make sense.]
