i couldn't really think of any non-oc characters that i wanted to submit before submissions closed (mainly because i don't usually latch on to characters because of their visual design), so i'm pleasantly surprised that my skim through the matchup list gave me more than one "oh, i totally would have submitted them if they came to mind at the time" moment (lusamine and ENA being the big ones). i'm excited to see how the tournament goes, and already coming up with propaganda ideas for ENA in particular, though i think i'll wait to make sure it's not redundant to any existing propaganda first.

I feel the same! Seeing a bunch of awesome characters pop up that I knew made me go "I can't believe I forgot about them!"

I'll be sure to write down any characters I think of in case I do another one of these.

Initially, I was just trying to take advantage of a funny loophole, but I do actually think the letter X has a cool design. It’s so simple and recognizable.

This tournament accepts characters from any franchise, popular or not, and even your own OCs (if you're daring enough to put them through this tournament!)

Only rules are:

No nudity or gore allowed in the submitted image.

Please vote for characters based on their design, not just if you happen to like the character more or not

You can submit as many characters as you like! But if I notice someone spam submitting the same character, I'm banning the character from the tournament

Other questions: is it allowed to submit pokémons?

Yes! Anything that could be considered a character design is allowed. Very vague definition, but Pokémon are allowed :)

Can I submit a design that appears in the very last episode of "The Owl House", such that even the name of the design may be a spoil for people who haven't watched it?

I think it depends on how big of a spoiler it is! But I will go ahead and ask the masses. I do allow spoiler designs, but name of the character being a spoiler might be different.

I will be accepting fandom OCs and personal story OCS! However, for personal reasons I will not be accepting Harry Potter/Wizarding World, Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss or Homestuck OCs. This rule is firm and will not change.

You must submit a description of your OC and why they're God's favourite punching bag for them to be eligible!

The size of the bracket will be determined by the amount of submissions we receive.

No real people/canon characters can be submitted.

Be civil! ANY hostility towards other people or their OCs will result in being blocked and banned from interacting with any tournaments. This blog is not intended to breed hatred, but to showcase people's OCs and to generate new likings towards them!

You may submit up to three OCs, but only one per form! You will have to name your Tumblr blog to submit an OC, but you can request not to be named in the polls.

Self propaganda is allowed and encouraged, but hate propaganda towards other people's OCs is not allowed under any circumstances.

Your character must have some sort of reference image. Picrews and other dollmakers are allowed, but faceclaims are not.

Just submitted almost all the Aeons from Honkai Star Rail because their designs all fuck severely

To everyone, if a character loses, that does not mean they are a bad character or even a bad design. This is all in good fun :) so please enjoy yourself, even if your submission does not make it all the way! There are a lot of really cool submissions and really funny submissions. Hi! I see that gore is against the rules for submission, I wanted make extra sure where the line is so that i don’t accidentally submit something that would be uncomfortable for you. Like for undead characters, say, I would obviously avoid anything with blood or organs visible, but where would the line fall on the scale from a realistic zombie with visible rot or missing parts but no blood, or a zombie with no blood but lots of bugs/appeals to other common phobias, to a cartoon zombie with visible injuries/innards stylized such as not to be upsetting to look at, to a skeleton or undead monster stylized without visible injury, to just a normal looking person who happens to be undead? What are your feelings on characters designed to be scary/upsetting without being gory? Such as amygdala from bloodborne (spidery thing with lots of limbs and a porous, hairy face which I personally find extremely creepy) or ten piedad from blasphemous (a plant monster made from twisted roots with a face which resembles a goat skull with several nails driven into it) or nobody nose from awful hospital (not twisted or disfigured in any way, just a gross sentient snotty nose with a little toothy mouth rendered in upsetting detail). Exercise caution googling these examples if you are sensitive to non-gory body horror, ofc.

I think a little bit of blood is okay! I looked at the examples you gave, and I think they are fine. The rule was mostly for really graphic or excessive amounts of gore.

can you switch the image submission question to short answer (so people can paste a url) instead of upload? having an upload question on a form requires people share their emails

I mentioned this in the submission post, but it is still anonymous. It does require you to sign in to upload an image, but it still does not show me anyone's email or info.

If you would like to add a link and do not wish to upload an image, you could put it in the propaganda section :)
