whenever I try to think Uther as a cruel Father, my mind would go to that scene where he carries him, crying. Fuck! The root of the whole problem is that he had a heart! Imagine him as a cruel man, vindictive but he wasn't heartless, if that had been, purge wouldn't have happened. He'd have moved and taken another wife, come to think of it, he didn't take another wife, nobody would have begrudge him, he was the king afterall, and one prince isn't enough to secure the bloodline and the throne. So yeah, Uther did love Arthur and Morgana, Morgana's betrayal was so deep he went mad man! Truly astounding. That a man who committed genocide was a human and had a heart and he loved his children. Truly, too much complexity

Seems like it's the first appearance of the snake necklace. It's The remedy to cure all ills episode, Morgana tries to contradict Uther's decision to cast Gaius out. Considering the symbolism, they've started building that motif, that if you set yourself against Uther you're becoming a 🐍

Whumpee falls through ice on a frozen lake.
Shaking. Trembling. Freezing. Teeth chattering. Turning blue. Delirium. Hypothermia. Exhaustion. Passing out.
Caretaker probably sees it happen too, and might even have to get them out of the icy water.
That’s it. That’s what I have.

More notes! Merlin season 2, part 2.
Also, my notes here aren't intended to be seen as Merthur content, just as platonic friendship, but I ain't going to judge if you like to use them as that. The point of this is to pin point stuff that can inspire people.
• Merlin is the responsible one to protect Arthur's room. If someone steals something from there while Arthur is not in, it is Merlin's fault. (As long as they're both in Camelot, not when they're traveling)
• Arthur told Merlin to never put him in a position where he has to lie to Uther again
• "You have to trust me because you have no other option" that was a very bad move from Merlin towards Kilgharrah.
• More and more it seems that Kilgharrah is having fun with all the situations, rather than befriending Merlin.
• Merlin is drawn upon magic objects. He can feel them, like they're calling him.
"It made me see" "I couldn't resist"
• Arthus is not always a jerk towards Merlin, if he thinks that something is wrong or worrying Merlin he'll try to talk, and will try to help. He isn't that oblivious
"Didn't you hear me?... Something's worrying you, isn't?" He was open to hear what was troubling Merlin, with no sarcasm, his tone was soft.(Chapter 9)
Also on ch 13, Arthur was joyful and kind towards Merlin, he saw that Merlin had some worry, and he joked to make him laugh, and said "If I wasn't a price.... we could've been friends, isn't? Which means that you can tell me (about what was bothering Merlin)". He was trying to say that he cared about him, and even if he can't act that way on Camelot, he was open to hear and help as a friend when no one was there to judge.
• From Uther perspective Morgana seems to go from "I'm the one you protect, and you're like a father to me" to "you killed them without thinking how that affects me" to "we're ok now" to "I owe you nothing, I don't know you anymore, and you should go to hell"
That would be freaking confusing.
Also, she called him an Idiot and he sent her to her room.
• There are magic creatures (as Kilgharrah) that can't be kill by magic. Those are different from monsters, the monster can be kill by normal weapons
• Freya is a Bastet (cursed as a Bastet) which is an Egyptian god. Which means you can turn more gods from other cultures/religions to creatures in Merlin world
• Merlin lost Freya, Morgana's trust and his father in the same season. (Chapter 9 (Freya), 12 (Morgana) and 13 (Balinor) from season 2). (And not really related, but he set free Kilgharrah at the end of chap 12)
• Arthur didn't ask Merlin to go to the battlefield and fight Kilgharrah. He said he was going, period. I think that changed the way Arthur sees Merlin, with more respect and trust.
• Merlin is able to hear Moldred, even if he doesn't want to be heard by him.
• There's a couple of examples of how magic isn't just about words, but has a physical reinforcement.
The love spell/potion required hair. Merlin told Gaius that there were more than 600 spells that used hair. Trying to dissolve a spell, without knowing which one it is (like randomly picking one that fits, but isn't the right one) can have secondary effects like "turning Arthur into a frog" or making the person that you use the counter spell on, lose all their hair. The spell that put everyone on Camelot to sleep was cast as a spell, but it required a living thing to be maintained that long, It seems that being the vessel didn't affect her negativity.
And that's all from season 2. I'm going to start with the s 3, maybe on weekend.

Morgana is just Uther's ward but still, she sits as Arthur the crown prince's equal beside Uther. Uther couldn't help but keep her close, treat her as a princess in all but the truth.

THREE ARMOR LINKS
Sad and beautiful Avalon Ending. Avalon here is like Tolkien's Valinor. "He is a fallen king, she is a fairy queen"
Seer Morgana, happy ending fix-it, cute Mergwen as a side pair.
Canon divergent, Morgana returns to Arthur after Gwen betrays him with Lancelot, and oh, Morgana has been jealous. Avalon Ending as well. "Arthur and you are your own gods and goddesses now and whatever you both say, is gospel"

things to ask yourself when designing a female character:
how much blood is she covered in
are her eyes filled with madness
can she rip things to shreds with her fingernails
