it’s sad to realize that most people truly don’t care. whoever isn’t trending rarely gets a second thought beyond “don’t forget about ___” every few weeks. actual human lives seem to matter less than following the trends.

“go back to poland”
excuse me? to what exactly? the place my great grandpa was born because there was no where else to go for people like him? the place my family barely survived in? go back to the rubble of the once beautiful town? go back to the place my family fought for years to get out of? to forget?
it’s all gone. everyone that once lived there is gone, all the homes have been burned to the ground, the synagogue (once used for trash) is now demolished. i don’t have anything to go back to besides blatant antisemitism and death threats.
israel is the home of the jewish people, you’re an idiot if you think anything else. it has always been our home, even when we find ourselves living all over.

i’m not arab, but still don’t want to see anything anti arab on my blog. i agree with op!!!!
I just want to say that if i see anyone of y'all reblogging my stuff with any anti-arab sentiment, you are getting blocked. Just because I'm jewish and post mainly about jewish culture and antisemitism, doesn't mean im not proud of my arabness and am going to allow any anti arab sentiment.
Even if i wasn't arab, im not gonna let that shit slide.

Chag Pesach sameach to every Jewish person. No matter your observance practices, whether you’re at a Seder with family, working or anything else. Every Jewish person deserves to feel safe, no matter their politics or visibility. Because right now? It’s beyond left/right. It’s simply being Jewish. So celebrate (or not) with lightness, love and above all, safety. Take care, be proud, chag Pesach sameach!

🤍🤍🤍
Pesach is, to me, the most difficult holiday to celebrate right now. Since Oct 7th we've had a few holidays, but Pesach is the one that pains me most so far.
Hanukkah made sense. We are fighting to keep our homeland, as the Maccabees did. We have Israel now, and we will still have Israel. The holiday celebrating our resistance against those who wished to destroy us in our home made sense.
Purim made sense. Yes, it was painful to celebrate the holiday of joy, but we have resisted a force that wishes to eliminate each and every one of us. Just as we did in Persia against Haman, we are defending ourselves because never again will we be put in the position of being at our oppressor's mercy.
Pesach does not make sense. How are we to celebrate being taken out of captivity when over a hundred of our brothers and sisters are still being held captive? How are we to cheer about our freedom when our own people are not free? How can we celebrate G-d's hand coming down to free us when members of our Jewish family have not been free for over half a year?
It is painful. It physically hurts my chest to think about all of this. I wish for G-d to carry our people again, this time from the tunnels under Gaza. From the violent antisemitism we have been seeing happening all around. May we yet again experience freedom from those who wish us harm.
I in no way am saying that we should not celebrate Pesach. If anything, it is more important now than ever to celebrate and pray for freedom. I am just sharing my own feelings on the matter.
As was said then, we say now: LET OUR PEOPLE GO!

In case you haven't heard of this artist, Alex Woz runs a small business selling his art that celebrates judaism and the jewish people. His stuff is definitely worth checking out, even just to see the prints and shirts he makes.
I think everyone can benefit from seeing his stuff. Just like last time, I am not being paid to promote this and was not told to, I just love supporting small jewish businesses and bought a few of his things for chanukah. You can check out his stuff here:

i swear i wasn’t going to say anything about this-
but i am baffled 😭
this christian textbook i was required to buy for a required christian class, refers to hanukkah as something “that has become the jewish alternative to christmas”
see, i wasn’t going to say anything
then they write that a mikveh is a “jewish spa”
WHEN I TELL YOU MY JAW DROPPED
it also said that passover was one of the high holy days?? and the seder the MOST IMPORTANT jewish ritual 😔👍🏻

some people on this app have such a distorted view of judaism by equating it to christian theology and ideals.
everything i have learned and experienced about judaism supports the idea that most of us do not give a fuck about the spiritual beliefs/beliefs of others as long as they’re not violent or abusive.
we’re “chosen” because we agreed to doing more for Hashem than everyone else, NOT because we’re special.
(i’m definitely biased) but judaism is one of the world’s most tolerant, forgiving, and loving religions. the most shaming, vindictive, and accusatory parts of christianity have nothing to do with judaism. (believing that we need to convert people because we’re right, the whole sacrament of confession, believing that we can condemn people to go to hell, etc.)
before you start shitting on judaism, i beg you to do actual research into what we believe and how we interpret our holy texts instead of assuming anything.
also before shitty people tell me in the comments — i know judaism isn’t perfect, i believe extremes on either end of religious or not have a very easy time being abusive and violent because they often don’t allow any room for beliefs that differ.
