oh boy.....
I don’t know, you don’t post for 6 years and the whole fandom explodes.....
So, I saw my name dropped on kiwi farms (I’ve been a Cwc lurker since Bluespike, yes, I’m old,) I decided that I probably should post with everything going on.
I had resigned some time ago that I had put my days of internet detectivering (A word I made up) behind me, but I guess I gotta dust off my keyboard.
Who am I:
Ok, I was a fan of the tgwtg crew, a huge fan and I’ve always been strong with google-FYI so I thought I’d use my powers for good. At the time tgwtg was pretty big and there were a lot of rumours going about, and being the kind of person who is #foreverlurking on sites like SA, the chans, ED, tvtropes, etc, I was seeing a lot of shit talk about contributors who I liked. I also saw that Rants who used to run (not sure if they still do) the tgwtg secrets tumblr was getting a lot of stuff at the time about various rumours going around, and Rants didn’t have the information to respond to them.
I thought I would provide my services as a sort of neutral party who would purely answer this stuff factually and maybe try to stop lies being spread throughout the internet. I think my most significant post was about JesuOtaku, then Hope, now Jacob.
There had been rumours for a long time about homophobia on JO’s part, and I did some extensive research for that one. On a hard drive I still have the hundreds of screenshots I made of literally every forum post in which JO had said something shitty. I delved very deeply and spoke to people who knew JO IRL, they said that they felt JO was a nice person who had never been mean or nasty to them. I concluded that while JO was younger he had made some shitty posts but had since become a better person. Hence the rumour was technically true, but JO had reformed his opinion. Of course that was before all the stuff with Nash, so..... yeah.
Why did I stop posting:
There were a number of reasons. I’ve always suffered with mental health issues, namely depression, ocd and ptsd, and that makes me erratic at times about commitments, which was a small part of it.
The other reason was largely to do with a video called “things tgwtg fans say” -this was made by mostly chez apocalypse people and there were two things which began to sit very badly with me in that video.
The first one was, I believe Elisa, saying “I’m worried about spoony” - this was PRE Spoony meltdown, and I myself was one of the fans concerned about his mental health issues and his erratic behaviour. We all know how that ended, don’t we?
I didn’t like the idea of this video taking the piss out of fans was not just poking fun, there was genuine reason to be concerned about Spoony’s behaviour, as was proved shortly afterwards. I don’t know who made the decision to include that line, but it made me feel very uncomfortable.
The second was Kyle aka Oan Citizen saying “I hate Rants!” Everyone thought that it meant Rants as in ranting, but after Rants of the tgwtg secrets tumblr had said they liked the video, Kyle went out of his way to let Rants know that line was directed at them personally. Kyle didn’t think this was inappropriate at all until Hagan told him off and he apologised and the video was edited to cut that line.
‘Shortly after Kyle’s apology was added to his ‘crowning moment of heartwarming’ section on tvtropes. I couldn’t help but think, “these guys make videos on the internet and get money for watches and they’re openly insulting the people who watch their videos to their faces.”
That made me feel sick to my stomach.
It STILL makes me eel sick to my stomach 6 years later.
Kyle had also tweeted (then deleted before I got a chance to screenshot) a tweet saying “I just want some people to know I hate them. Deeply.” This was aimed at Rants.
Rants ran a blog where people made posts about people saying they fancied this producer or thought that producer was cute - so yeah, I didn’t like this.
Then.... ugh... I’m sorry, I started getting messages about Jew Wario.
I have various screenshots I will share, but can’t share some for various reasons, mostly I’m not at home right now, I’m on holiday abroad, and I’m posting on my iPad. I’m having a holiday because my Dad died last month from a long battle with brain cancer so I need to chill, y’all.
The stuff I was getting was really disturbing so I’m just going to post the one screen cap of me asking Rants if they’d been getting anything, though I erroneously refer to his victim as his girlfriend for some reason, I think I’d thought they were dating. When I get home I’ll go through all my archive and see what else I have saved.
It put me off the fandom in a big way, I decided to take a break, which turned into a complete hiatus. I was scared of the information. I was just a girl, sitting in her room, watching videos about bad movies, then suddenly I was being told about crimes and fans were being attacked.
I didn’t want to be a part of it and I ran away.
I was a coward.
I was much younger, more naive, and didn’t possess the social skills to be able to deal with it or process it properly.
I’m sorry.
I’m so sorry.
I feel that I have a proportional piece of blame, but after Justin’s suicide I felt the issue was over, in a Jimmy Saville way and tried to move on. Even though I no longer visited tgwtg/channel awesome any longer, I felt intense guilt for years and that is part of the reason I stopped posting.
Again, I’m sorry.
During my tenure as internet detective I had the opportunity to speak with several producers, Lupa, Brad, Linkara, Holly and others, everyone who I spoke to personally was friendly and helpful and generally really lovely people.
I didn’t start the blog to upset anyone, I just wanted to be a small part of something that I enjoyed immensely as a fan and the only talent I had was the ability to read through 149 forum pages in one night and make sense of it all.
I should have spoken up, and I can’t take that back now, but I hope I can find a way to make it up to the people my silence hurt.

Just wondering, do you have a personal tumblr?
I don't, I was thinking of creating one because I see a lot of cool posts in my dashboard that I'd like to reblog. I have a personal blog, but it's completely empty as I haven't got around to starting it yet. My friend suggested that one night we try and do a livestream and let people call my skype with questions, but I don't think I'm a terribly entertaining person so I didn't think it would be a good idea.

Is there any information on why Scarlett and Spoony broke up?
I am only answering this one, as I've had several questions about it, but so far I've been able to respond privately about it.
To the best of my knowledge, neither Spoony, nor Scarlett, nor anyone else directly connected with tgwtg, have given any reason for their relationship ending. I doubt they ever will.

What happened to Admir Jusofovic?
It's like he never existed.
Well apparently he did exist, not that I could track down much information on him.
He's listed on the former contributors page on the tgwtg wiki, here.
His twitter, here, implied that he left to run his own site, kokugamer.com however his twitter hasn't been updated since April last year and I couldn't find reference to him on the site's About page so he may have left or be now using a new net handle.
This was pretty much all I could find on him, sorry it couldn't be more enlightening.

No, I couldn't find a confirmation anywhere. I think the teases imply there possibly will, but I think we're going to have to wait and see on this one.

From Lupa - Apollo
Just to clear up the sequence of events here, here's a bit about the Apollo situation. This is Lupa, you can e-mail me or contact my twitter/facebook/what have you if you'd like to confirm it's me.
I'll try and make it brief, this is just for clarity. I was dating Matt at the time, and he had some doubts about how things were run on the site, and after we had broken up (this was for personal reasons, not anything to do with the site), he decided to step down because he thought it'd be hard to work with me after that.
Shortly after, the incident where he was recorded talking about the third year happened, and none of us knew what was happening. Asalieri got the recording from a former friend of Matt's, who recorded the skype call without his knowledge, and it was put in a youtube video with a filter on the voice. I recognized who it was, and because of what he was saying, how he was saying it, a lot of us were angry with him. There was misinformation passed around on all sides (Asalieri claiming that Elisa was hung upside down in a crucifix position, us not knowing Matt had no knowledge of the recording, etc). After all was said and done, everything about the behind the scenes at the third anniversary has been talked about (and Orlando's accident is even on the DVD, it shows exactly what happened) and everything should be cleared up about that. The incident had nothing to do with Matt leaving the site, but it left a lot of broken bridges. The timing also left a lot of people thinking this is why he left.
As for the rumors of me stringing Matt along after the break up, that's partially Asalieri, partially "bros before hos." Asalieri had mentioned on Dead Horse Interchange that I was a low person who was stringing Matt along, telling him I might get back together with him or maybe not, something to do with the site. I never said that at any point, I'm not going to string anyone along because of a website, and Asalieri certainly knows nothing about what our relationship was. In any case, we are not together, have not been together for quite some time, and I am very happy with Phelan now. There's no stringing to be had.
I also saw someone say Matt left because of the Dark Nella Saga. That's not true, although he mentioned the number of episodes might have had to do with how long Reviewaverse Saga was going to be. I don't know on that one.
If there's anything else that needs clearing up feel free to ask.

A brief update and info request
Hello all, Elf here. Just a very quick update because I just got home after my third consecutive 16 hour shift (one to go *sob*), and I'm so very, very tired right now.
I have about 8 or 9 questions waiting in my inbox that I have read and I kind of know how to get started on and one which I think I'm going to be flying blind on, but I'll try my very best to answer it if I can.
So to my request, I've been getting a few more asks about Apollo Z Hack and right now I'm thinking that if I can actually contact him and ask him about a couple of them, it might be the quicker and more reliable way of finding out. So of those who actively follow him, can anyone tell me the best place to go to contact him? Twitter/facebook/reviewtopic/etc? Or if he has a public email address, that would be super. (send it through the ask box, please. *hugs in advance*)
This may not pan out, given that I have a personal rule about not pretending to be a random fan and actually letting the person know who I am and why I'm asking when attempting to contact producers for info and I get the feeling that I'm, shall we say, not very popular at the moment, to put it politely. All I can do though is try my best to find out the information for you guys and if all else fails there are other places I can try and look.

Is Blank a blank?
I've been getting a few questions in my inbox along the lines of the following examples:
Is _____ gay? I think he is based on some things he's said.
Is _____ a republican? I think she is based on some of her facebook updates.
Is _____ an alcoholic? I think he is based on some of his tweets.
Is _____ really a man in disguise? I think she is based on some of her blog comments.
Those are all made up examples, just so we're clear.
I don't mind getting very speculative questions, however, if you're going to ask something based on something very vague, difficult to research or extremely personal to the producers personal life, then I'm going to need linking to whatever it is that you've seen which prompted you to ask the question.
The only reason I'm posting this is because while most of the people who've asked these questions have done so from their tumblr accounts and I was able to respond to them privately, but there's been several who asked anonymously and so I wasn't able to respond to them. Also posting a series of mysteriously vague updates asking people to write in again about a particular question is more likely to start rumours rather than solve them so I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Also a small reminder, for the next three days I've got an insane work schedule so I might not be able to update, but I should be able to check my inbox and start making notes or get the ball rolling on bits of research so don't be afraid to write in.
Thanks guys for all your support, some of the messages I've been getting are super lovely and I appreciate every word.

I know of what you speak. It's not really a rant, per say. It's a chat in LordKat's live stream between the Chick and Linkara, I have listened to the full thing before, but the video is a shorter version with the relevant part.
She does talk about the critic, but when you've heard it you get the context.

8 bit mickey leaving gameheroes?
I remember Handsome Tom saying that they have "not heard" from mickey during forum questions on a game heroes podcast (december or january if i recall). Check Mickeys twitter posts around New Years 2012. i remember him saying that he was caught driving while on medication (spent a night in jail?) and that seemed to scratch the surface of what really happened. I would really love to know exactly what happened as i love everyone at thegameheroes.com incuding mickey. Research HOOOO!

Rollo T on Goggles
With regards to why Krissy left, this is what Rollo T. had to say on the matter in a message board (scroll down to his reply as OmegaSplash): http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=18839&page=171&p=2229268
So basically she quit because she got busy with college stuff and never found time to do any videos. I also remembered Linkara mentioning in a different message board (I think it was Toonzone) that after she got back from filming the Brawl, her computer or her hard drive broke which it difficult for her to make videos. She did guest on Rollo T. and Y Ruler of Time's Weekly Manga Recap podcast last year so there's still some hope she might rejoin the site once she's got her shit together (though I'm surprised she hasn't considered doing title cards for her fellow producers instead).
