The Screaming Gecko Reno
LOT: The Screaming Gecko (20x20), Koh Sahpa, Tomarang
LOT TYPE: Community (Restaurant / Bar / Lounge / Nightclub)
COST: § 93,180
KEY FEATURES: Bar | Pub games | Hot tub | Music stage | Private dining room
NOTES:
My first build in Tomarang!
Renovated The Screaming Gecko lounge into a restaurant as there are far too many premade lounges in the Sims world.
Also, I wanted my Sims to be able to enjoy Tomarangian food in a nice, sheltered, indoor setting (instead of having to wait for the Night Market to open).

Thoughts on Tomarang
As a Simmer from Singapore, I am pleased to see how well Southeast Asia is represented aesthetically in Tomarang.
It is quite an immersive experience for me as, for example, there are certain buildings/areas in Tomarang which look like they could have been taken straight from Katong, Chinatown and Boat Quay in Singapore.
Whilst Tomarang seems to be mostly based on Thailand (maybe 60%?), I think the influences from Vietnam/Malaysia/Indonesia/Singapore etc. are blended in well to form a cohesive-looking culture.
The world is abit too small for an EP world. But that isn’t really surprising at this point.
I take more issue with how little stuff there is to actually do there. Much of the new stuff that can be “done” is in rabbit holes and the 2 premade community lots are kinda lacklustre.
My plan is probably just to use Tomarang as a vacation world, like Sulani and Mt. Komorebi. So gotta add a vacation rental there.
Have renovated The Screaming Gecko into a restaurant so that my Sims don’t have to wait around for the Night Market to open to enjoy Tomarangian food.
Will probably bulldoze the national park lot and turn it into some sort of multi-functional complex of shophouses. This is to make my Sims have more of a reason to visit Tomarang and to maximise the use of the limited number of lots in the world.
Will probably also rebuild the Cahyaputris’ house. The premade one seems abit too countrified for the urban setting. Also, I want to squeeze more rental units in to achieve the landlord aspiration.

2-4-2 Wakabamori Condo
LOT: 2-4-2 Wakabamori (30x20), Wakaba, Mt. Komorebi
LOT TYPE: Residential rental
COST: § 221,337
KEY FEATURES: 2 units (each with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) | Gym | Café | Outdoor pool | Basement entertainment area | Rooftop garden
NOTES:
Always thought it was a missed opportunity for Mt. Komorebi to not have apartments/condos.
Rectified this by building a modern apartment/condo based on a deco building, which came with the Snowy Escape pack, to house the Sims from the Snowy Escape trailer.
It is owned by the Itos, as part of their drive to modernise and monetise the area.

Riverside Grove Rebuild
LOT: Riverside Grove (30x20), Strangerville Plaza, Strangerville
LOT TYPE: Residential
COST: § 96,849
KEY FEATURES: 2 bedrooms | 2.5 bathrooms | Open-plan kitchen/dining/living space | Home gym | Home office | Cat care area
NOTES:
The exterior of this house was based on a deco building which came with the Strangerville pack. Like the Grunts’ house which I built earlier , all these shotgun/double-gallery houses are meant to be part of a military housing complex.
For the interior of this house, I tried to do a uniform but still cosy style which is halfway between what the Grunts’ house and the Smiths’ house look like.
There are also lots of floral motifs in the decor to allude to the infection by The Mother Plant.
More pics of their individual bedrooms here: Jess and Dylan, Christie.

Christie Sigworth’s Bedroom
Since Christie has a high Creativity skill level and the “Artistic Prodigy” aspiration, I decorated her room in an artsy, boho style with lots of colourful décor.
Also, my headcanon is that as the Sigworths have had to move around a lot for Jess’ job with the military, Jess and Dylan tend to feel guilty about the constant disruption of their family routine.
To reflect how they try to feel less guilty by spoiling Christie with gifts, I have put lots of toys and skill objects in her room.

Jess and Dylan Sigworth’s Bedroom
The family description of the Sigworths states that they are new to Strangerville.
Also, my headcanon is that Jess and Dylan are both really busy as Jess has to adjust to her transfer to Strangerville National Base and Dylan has to juggle handling remote university studies with being the primary caregiver for their daughter.
So I kept the bedroom looking abit old-fashioned and generic as though the previous occupant had left the house in a hurry with their personal belongings. Jess and Dylan haven’t gotten around to decorating the place yet and are just using whatever the previous occupant left behind.
