MASTERLIST: SHOGANAI, MANAGER-SAN!
SHOGANAI, MANAGER-SAN!
Shoganai: translates to, “it can’t be helped”
Summary: In which ex-manager of Nekoma, gets dragged into becoming a manager for Japan’s Olympic volleyball team, all thanks to her friend/co-worker Kuroo tricking her into doing it without giving her any details.
She thought it would be easy to manage a bunch of 20 something-year-old men at first, but she’s proved otherwise when the majority of them act like teenage boys, clueless and dumb with only volleyball on their mind.
God damn it Kuroo.
Pairing(s): Mostly platonic; kuroo x reader, yaku x reader, hinata x reader, kageyama x reader, ushijima x reader, aran x reader, bokuto x reader, hoshiumi x reader, atsumu x reader, sakusa x reader, hyakuzawa x reader, komori x reader, iwaizumi x reader, hakuba x reader. I might do some romantic pairings in the future but that really depends.
Updates: Slow because I’m in school right now and that’s my first priority. Please don’t pressure me to update!
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters from Haikyuu!! and all rights go to Haruichi Furudate. There might be some manga spoilers, so watch out for that!
Author’s Note: This is my first time posting something on Tumblr so please go easy on me ehehe. When I read the Haikyuu manga, I really enjoyed seeing most of my favorite people being all in one team for the Olympics, so I decided to make a fic of it! And I think this would be good practice for me to try to see if I can write out various characters well into this book.
This is also posted on my wattpad because I’m more active on there,,,
The main reason it’s going to be platonic is because I honestly suck at romance and I’m better in the platonic relationship category. But in the future, I might have some romantic ships if there’s some sort of connection between the reader and some characters, but it kind of depends.
Chapters will be updated in this masterlist as I publish them!

Chemistry Pick Up Lines - Kuroo Tetsuro
As always. This was written while half asleep. Enjoy <3
But before that. Thank you to @estherakabane for the idea and @snowdropparchive for the help with the chem stuff, idk what I’d do without you.
-::-
The first thing Kuroo notices when he walks into the cat cafe is that someone took his spot. He’s not angry, he’s just slightly irritated. He had a chem test that he needed to study for, and it had basically been impossible to get Kenma out of his room. So when Kenma finally agreed to join him to study at the cat cafe he usually went to, he couldn’t let that go to waste. He had the best spot, the corner was usually secluded, and he knew Kenma liked silence.
When he takes a better look at the person, he’s awestruck. They’re breathtaking. They look adorable and when a kitten climbs up their lap and disrupts their typing process, they pet the furry creature. Their eyes are soft when looking at the cat, and he couldn’t help but think that he wanted to be on the receiving end of those eyes.
“I can’t believed you fell in love that quickly,” Kenma glances at Kuroo. “just ask them out or something."
Kuroo shakes his head no, but the thoughts plague his mind. So when the server comes around to his table again, he asks them to hand them a cup of coffee with a note.
The person is caught off guard at first, and when they actually read the note, they huff.
"Are you C8H10N4O2? Because you’re addicting” they giggle. They scribble a note back.
When Kuroo receives an answer, he’s stunned. It actually worked.
“I may not be caffeine but I’m sure you’re C10H12N2O since you made me so happy” Kuroo reads. “A chemistry nerd! Is this destiny?"
"You better ask her out before I leave” Kenma grumbles.
So Kuroo scribbles a quick note, and finishes off his studying. He hands the note to the server, and he drags Kenma out quickly. The person laughs gently, and they continue on their work.
I C8H11NO2+C10H12N2O+C43H66N12O12S2 you. Text me? xxx-xxx-xxxx

Kita Shinsuke: Rice, Rice, Baby
Fandom: Haikyuu!!
Summary: Fluff
• Working for Osamu meant handling ingredient suppliers, but the Rice Farmer is the most unusual of all and it’s no surprise to the Miya Twins when things start to blossom between the two of you.
Warnings: None
A/N: The 5th of July is Kitas birthday, which is today and I didn’t know so I had to whip something out for our Inarizaki Captain. Enjoy the theoretical cake~
>>>>——————————>
Job hunting was tricky, especially in the cooking industry as a culinary degree wouldn't get you far without the accompaniment of experience - which employers weren't willing to give if you'd don't have any in the first place. It was a vicious cycle in reality, but you figured you'd finally found an escape in a familiar face - two familiar faces rather.
"C'mon 'Samu, these taste incredible."
The blonde athlete gave an exasperated sigh, his twin carefully eyeing you and the plate you'd presented him with a deadpan expression.
"I get that you're starting your own business so it's gonna be rough - I'm not asking for a chefs salary, I'll even volunteer for a bit to see if the dynamic works."
"Oh yeah? You think you can keep up?" The cook raised a brow as his twin finished off the food you prepared.
"A kitchen assistant will give you more time to manage the business side of things, I know you're capable of doing both but a little help goes a long way, I just need the experience for my CV Osamu."
"..."
"Y'know you had the job the moment I tried this, right?" The man grinned, enjoying the irritation growing in your eyes but not as much as his giggling brother.
"Aww, we coulda kept that going a little longer!"
"Are you kidding me? You guys are still assholes." You offered a playful glare to the two, gently punching Atsumus' shoulder in retaliation whilst Osamu addressed the situation further.
"That's no way to talk to your boss (L/n)!"
Ultimately the aforementioned arrangement was thriving, Osamu had permanently hired you as his Sous Chef under 'Onigiri Miya' much to your delight. You'd gotten the hang of working alongside him, as well as gaining familiarity with suppliers and deliveries so you were well versed in such matters - although the rice farm was a new one.
"Are ya coming with me?"
"We're actually going there?" Came your disbelieving tone, the act considered unordinary in normal circumstances and Osamu only smirked at your puzzlement.
"Yeah, he's an old friend so it's rude not to refresh a contract face to face."
That's how you ended up with a cool breeze fanning your skin and the freshest scent lingering in the air, it was a sense of freedom almost and you were already addicted - the attractive farmer certainly aided that.
"Long time Osamu, this must be (L/n)-san then?" The twin had spoken of you previously, just as he'd offhandedly debriefed you on this Farmer before you'd arrived.
"Pleasure to meet you Kita-san."
"Likewise, would you like some tea to settle in?" Though not overly expressive, the dual haired man offered a warm smile before getting to work.
Conversation ensued as the two of you cooked in Kitas kitchen (despite his protests of Osamu and yourself making dinner) with yourself learning that the two were on a Volleyball Team together in Inarizaki High School. And like the majority of Volleyball players you'd encountered, he was observant of others too and noticed the more on edge body language you exhibited.
"I don't understand why you're nervous (L/n), you cook routinely so you should have faith in your abilities." It was a personal quirk that reflected in his gameplay back in Inarizaki and often applied the same logic to anyone he encountered.
"Not for you, so I want to get it right." You replied with a kind smile, the farmer still didn't agree with your justification but accepted it regardless of his opinion.
"Then would it ease your nerves to see the area (L/n)? It'd be my pleasure to show you around." The former Captain politely offered, a sincere ring to his voice as you turned to Osamu for confirmation.
The twin shrugged, silently verifying he had dinner under control if you wished to go on a brief excursion so you gladly joined Kitas side with nerves bubbling through you. According to the Miyas, the Inarizaki team were often afraid to be on the receiving end of his cold logic hence the reason for your apprehensiveness when alone.
However, taking a leisurely stroll over his land gave the opportunity to get to know the young farmer better, finding him to be incredibly considerate toward those he cared about and that his blunt honesty often came in the form of constructive criticism. Kita ensured the twins were treating you fairly, and that if they ever got out of hand to simply give him a call - he’d given you his contact details for business related purposes too but you felt as if your newly planted roots with him would soon grow into something worthwhile.
Soon enough, you arrived back at his farmhouse deeply engaged in discussion before meeting Osamu in the kitchen whilst Kita prepared the table.
"Captains' took a shine to ya." The chef casually observed, though there was underlying playfulness present in his voice.
"How so?"
"Didn't show Atsumu around 'till his third visit."
"Really? I would've waited to at least the fifth time." You bit back with a laugh, Osamu quick to agree with the comeback as he handed you his utensil.
———
At the time, you hadn’t paid much attention to Miyas deductions, but after leaving the farm you found it difficult to flush the Farmer from your thoughts.
It was interesting really, from then on you took up any calls or stock details involving Kitas Farm in hopes of satisfying your unprecedented craving - only to find it worsening with every call and message that slowly bled into personal details rather than business. You knew tips on dealing with Atsumus teasing, about Kitas family and other snipets from his life just as he did yours.
Thus, the next time you’d taken a friendly visit to his farm a month or so later with both Miya brothers, it was distinctly evident that your relationship with the previous acquaintance had developed significantly like a seed sprout emerging through the ground in all its glory, similar to how you’d effectively broken the ice.
"Sup Kita." Atsumu nodded in acknowledgement, proudly slapping the mans bicep with a cheeky grin.
"Hey Shinsuke." You chimed after, a relaxed wave sent to him in greeting as Osamu gave a salute.
"(Y/n)-chan, Osamu, welcome back. You too Atsumu, I caught the MSBY Black Jackal game last weekend."
The grey haired twin raised a skeptical brow as the others compared Volleyball notes, and working together so frequently, you understood his silent question: 'When did you two get so informal?' to which you could only offer a sheepish shrug.
———
Osamu had departed early leaving you to finish up for the night, a chore you never really minded in the tranquility of the quieter hours, but tonight you had an unexpected guest. A black Pickup truck parked out back with a familiar figure emerging from it to greet you.
"Shinsuke, what are you doing here?"
"I brought the first harvest of the season, Osamu told me you were worried about your dwindling supply." Kita was correct, business had been a lot busier than usual all month due to 'Onigiri Miyas' growing popularity.
"True but honestly I could've waited, you didn't have to come all the way out here Kita."
"It's no problem, I was in town anyway which is why I'm later than anticipated." You went to help him unload the truck, yet he ushered you back inside with the promise that he'd handle it - he certainly had the physique and it was a pleasure watching him use it.
With the shop closed, you'd prepared tea as gratitude for Kitas thoughtfulness whilst he strolled into the shop with a soft smile once completing his endeavour.
"These are for you (Y/n)."
Such a considerate gesture took you by surprise, a delicate bouquet of varying flowers were placed on the table neatly accentuated with a white satin bow.
"They're lovely, where did you get them?" Daintily you picked up the foliage, admiring their vivid spring shades as you prepared a glass for them.
"They bloom on the farm every year, I believed you'd get more use out of them than I would." Due to your activity, you missed the rosy flourishes gracing his cheekbones and the sheepish hand that met the back of his neck during his explanation.
Instead, you happily turned to meet him now wearing his usual bland expression, a soft quirk in his lips that raised a hint of embarrassed scepticism.
"Thank you so much Shinsuke, I - why are you looking at me like that?"
"Your smile, it puts the flowers to shame."
"But they're so beautiful."
"I can see that (Y/n).”
Even if rather blunt with his flattering reply, it was your turn to become flustered which did not go amiss by your companion who briskly cleared his throat to distract from the cute sight.
“Would you like me to drop you home?”
It wasn’t until the next day you’d suffer the consequences of the ‘innocent’ encounter that was subconsciously veiled by the presence of work related duties. Not even the sight of the newly budding flowers situated on the windowsill could distract you - Atsumu dropped by for an early morning breakfast and to get the latest gossip from his brother, a commonplace occurrence between the two so you’d grown accustomed to eating breakfast alongside the two twins.
"You guys got it in again didn't ya? The first new rice of the season..." The blonde knowingly concluded once taking a bite of the Apple Risotto you’d crafted for him in the ‘Onigiri Miya’ kitchen.
"Shinsuke brought it over last night." Osamu flicked his smug gaze over to you, Atsumu latching onto the subliminal indication with a smirk.
"In person? Talk 'bout express delivery."
"Give it up guys, it's not like that!" You haphazardly waved the two off with a flick of your hand as you finished your plate, a threatening glare following the action which only fuelled their conjoined boisterous laughter.
———
Kita had invited you over for an informal visit, your independent trips increasing in frequency as of late due to your close friendship with him. Much the same way as you dropped by Atsumus which hadn’t the same excitement to it, though Osamu remained your most visited household.
You drifted alongside Kitas footsteps, allowing him to lead you to a more secluded section of his farm that you’d yet to witness - the promise of it rather enticing to your curious senses.
The man offered his palm to you, gracefully pulling you into his arms up the rather steep hill in the midst of the fields, gratefully you thanked him with a your fingers unlacing themselves from his own as you reached the peak. The area overlooking the mountainous skyline with the sunset warmly painting the sky in beautiful ombre's as it disappeared behind the hillside.
"What a view." You breathed in adoration, delicate whisper lost in the pleasant temperate breeze. It was enough to disperse any tension residing in your body and rejuvenate the system with one refreshing inhale.
"The first time I saw it, I was left awestruck and I decided this was the place for me. I never thought something would feel so right again." Kita joined your side, he too directing his gaze to the breathtaking sight wearing a gentle smile.
You turned to him now, an air of sportiveness to your following response upon dissecting the hidden meaning of his calm proclamation.
"Past tense? I never knew the Miya twins had such an impact on you~”
Kita bemusedly rolled his eyes at that, meeting your gaze with an intensity that could shatter any precautionary walls you’d built around your heart.
"Not those two, it was when I got to know you."
“I’m nothing special really, not like this.” Despite the heat rising on your skin, you gestured once more to the scenery hoping to find escape from the fluttering extending all the way to your fingertips.
"You are (Y/n), and you know I’m quite straightforward about things. I don't believe in whims like love at first sight but, you can build something special with someone if you put in the time and effort. I’d like to do that with you, if you’ll have me that is.” The sheer honesty in it had you melting, just as the considerate tone conveyed his loving feelings toward you that had been blooming ever since you’d met, budding sprouts that he wished to nurture into the most beautiful vibrant flowers alongside you.
The connotation left you smiling, closing your eyes once directing them toward the ground in a split second of consideration prior to meeting his vulnerable ones once more with a spirited smirk.
“You could’ve just asked me out instead of applying the most logical explanation to your feelings Shinsuke.”
“I just wanted you to know what you’d be getting into.” A breathy laugh escaped him momentarily, a genuinely amused smile sent your way with his attempt at humour that warmed your heart like a fireplace in winter.
It was then that you kissed him, properly this time rather than a quick peck to the cheek when he’d dropped you home. His lips sweetly melded with yours, a taste of honey ravishing your senses which reflected the smoothness of his kiss as he pulled away tantalising slowly, completely enamoured with the affection. You’d hummed in contentment, Kita only managing a single breath before you’d narrowed the distance and brushed his lips again instigating another, more passionate embrace compared to the one that acted as a gateway drug to paradise.
You couldn’t help but think then, a thought he unknowingly shared.
“I’m in too deep already...”
