The Hallow knights continue apace - I’m close to 1500 points painted now. Just a few more characters and units left to go.
The Knight Zephyros / Neave Blacktalon in particular is a beautiful mini.
Next up is bearded Knight Incantor bro.

A borderlands / comic book style classic Stone Troll.
This is my first time trying this technique which was heavily inspired by Mike of Epic Duck Studios on YouTube.

Not getting much finished at the moment, but another Stormcast off the line.
This time it’s my converted grandhammer wielding Liberator prime.

Isaak Svodnor, noble leader of the Vigilus fertiliser manufactorum militant wing, led his Kill Team to a respectable draw vs Death Guard in the mission Take Prisoners this evening.
Heroically fell back out of combat and was subsequently blown to pieces by a blight launcher in order to avoid capture by the enemy.

First milestone in my project to restore Warhammer Quest is complete for August.
The four warriors and three minotaurs, being the biggest models in the box are probably going to get the most attention, I have a target of end of October to complete all the rest as part of Warhammer Weekly’s hobby challenge.
Good to get this lot painted after about 20 years languishing in the grey!

Kill Team is on! And with it, a big old stack of sprues and infinite mould line scrubbing.
Spent a good chunk of yesterday assembling the beautiful terrain - and I mean it really is gorgeous - and very clever in the modular way that it can be assembled.
A* G-dubs, more of this please.

Orc blood bowl team.
Here I was trying to explore two new techniques.
1. Value sketching. All of the areas on these models which aren’t armor are a single glaze over zenithal under-shading. This is super super fast and I had to resist the urge to paint on additional highlights.
2. Non-metallic metal. The armor offset all the time I saved on the value sketch! 😂 This follows Vince Venturella’s simple NMM tutorial - Payne’s Grey ink as the dark, Stegadon scale green for the mid-tone and DR white ink for the light catches.
Overall, a fun experiment. I think I will mainly take the NMM practice into things like power swords and the like. Not sure I would tackle a whole army this way though! 😱

This might prove a useful before and after comparison for folks. When it comes to tufts I tend to just stick em down and forget about it. Based on some feedback I went back and did two additional steps: 1. Get some Agrax Earthshade wash into the tuft 2. Drybrush over it with some Zandri Dust once the wash has dried out It’s now much more in keeping with the dry and sandy desert look that I’m actually going for. No more incongruous, verdant meadow!
