☯ : Do they believe for every darkness there is a lightness? If not, why?
Everyone has dark sides, everyone has good. That’s not a question Hongou ever doubts. He does know and accepts that’s the case.
The issue for him is how little or how big of lightness does that darkness have. Is it a lot? A tiny smidget? Is it enough to try to safe and reform or is it too little it is best destroyed?
Darkness always has some light, but if the light is too small, it’s better to destroy that darkness than to keep it around.
But he also does believe the same is true. In light there’s darkness. That is why he fights for human freedom, not justice. Justice is a light that can have a heavy shadow. Such a big shadow it can just as easily turn into darkness with little light. Easy to twist and manipulate.
Unlike the concept of letting humans have the freedom to choose their own paths. It can be skewed by the powerful and the monetarily advantaged and he fights against that outcome.

❥ : Describe a verbal way they would express complete trust.
As much as Hongou would never let someone know, he never gives complete trust. Ever.
Sure, he pretends. Sure he lies. But he never really does. He’ll say he trusts you or wishes you’d do something but it’d be a trick from him to you. Like the many times he pretended to trust Hayato and tricked him into doing the less dangerous of the two options and pushed himself into the main battle, Hongou does everything he can to make sure he’s at the front and everyone else is safer off.
And with the stuff he goes around dealing with? He wouldn’t feel comfortable giving trust to anyone. Because trust is something too dangerous to hand out in a world were some being of evil keeps killing and destroying lives all across the planet.
Considered a selfless and caring man, Hongou holds a lot inside. Many who work with him realize there’s some hidden aspects, but even Hayato doesn’t realize how much. Hayato has actually realized some of Hongou’s tricks, but most trust Hongou so naturally [Hayato included] that they fall for lies again and again.
It’s a sad fate, but it’s one Hongou prefers at the current point. He doesn’t feel it safe to be open and fully trusting.
But he’ll damn sure pretend he trusts you fully and trick you out of the main battle for your safety and take the hard hits himself.

Okay Hongou might not seem on edge and be calm, but that’s literally because he’s more excited to try to find the scientists and ask them what data they’ve collected then worrying about being apart of it. He accepted his part to the role of data test subject. He just wanted to make sure people were safe during the testing. Blame being a scientist with the not-usual emotional state.
At least that’s what he was telling himself. Because as much as he knew from talking to Hayato, it was fine he was so comfortable with the events happening here, he still felt like he was becoming more like his enemy than who he wanted by accepting this so easily.
Maybe that’s why he was so willing and easy to be a book for others. At least, a book of whatever he expected them to want the pages to say.
“Oh, don’t worry. You might not have noticed. Not everyone even knows Greek. You might not even remembered the right order. Who knows? Maybe I could give you a hand in finding the place. I need to look around anyway so why not? It’d be good to know where the districts are in each sector. In case of emergencies.”
Hongou didn’t even realize until he stopped talking he rambled a bit. He was working himself up wasn’t he? He usually barely spoke much in burst except when he did. Calm down Hongou. No one here knows what you’re thinking. No one but Hayato knows and he said it was fine.
There’s no reason anyone would notice or have issues with your feelings about this. Keep your words short and calm. Like usual.
“Right, names. Nice to meet you Magatsu. I’m Hongou. Technically I should be Professor Hongou, but no need to add the title.”
~
The guy was calm, which was more than just good. If they really did capture numerous people and force them into this experiment, Jin had figured they would be pretty on edge. Then again, his own Buddy monster was no exception to that considering the amount of detachment he had to this. He specifically remembered being told by Yamigitsune to take things in stride, as if that would be easy.
“Ah…”
Tumblr media
How awfully nice of this stranger, to give him information before asking for an introduction! Are they all going to be such suckers like this here? I do wonder~. “I see! You know I hate to admit this, but if I looked around on my own I might’ve figured that out myself. I tend to walk on the lazy side a bit.
That doesn’t bode well for me here, does it?” He let go of his own soft laugh, a hand reaching up to rub the back of his head sheepishly.
“My name is Jin Magatsu. I gave you my name, how about you give me yours?”

casparringdojo:
NAME: Takeshi Hongou [Please call me Hongou] AGE: 44 [Looks ~23] RESIDENCE: District Gamma RANK: Nobody POSITION: teacher, first-aid [For flesh or for metal types alike] EXPERIENCE IN FIELD: From 1971 to 1993 so far I’ve been almost constantly fighting in a sort of war against many people who try to harm humanity, to be blunt. Fighting minions and their higher ups for all those years. Those fights can be one on one or twenty on one.
For first aid I’m a scientist that specializes in biochemistry. I do not have the the legal qualifications to be a medical doctor but I’ve learned a lot from my studies to help injuries very easily. Especially after many years of life experience fighting that I described above.
I also am a scientist that has performed cyborg surgeries and helped fix up and modify cyborgs and their kind of technology for just as long. If you’re flesh or metal I should be able to figure you out and fix you up very quickly.
SPECIALIZATION: I am specialized in Judo, karate, aikido, wrestling, a few styles of jujutsu and kenpo as a base as well as using any weapon around me to my advantage.
I also want to offer a class, if I may, to help those who have issues controlling strength and helping hone techniques related to those strengths. Trying to control heavy and new strength can be a hard and emotional stressful task I dealt with myself. I’d like to at least offer something up for those who may need that help here in the city.
MISCELLANEOUS: If my partner ends up being around in this city, I’d like him to help me teach sometimes as a partner. He’s skilled just as I am and we have a lot of experience together. We’re best as a team though we work perfectly well solo.
❝ You’ve certainly got the criteria for this, especially for those who need assistance for their mechanical needs. We’re more than honoured to have someone of your skills join us. I think it’s a wonderful idea to host a class that would benefit all those who struggle with their own control. I’ll set up a side room for your classes to take place with a sign and fliers for others to hear of it, as well as welcoming your partner were he to appear in the city! ❞
                APPROVED
“Thank you very much for allowing me to be apart of this. I’m very honored.”

Seeing the guy young as could be did, he admit, raise some flags. But he was just excited to see him. Sure he shouldn’t be /that/ old. Okay yes he should but still.
Hongou himself was around his mid 40s. Which meant Jouji shouldn’t have been that far off. But yet he looked as young as Shirou. It made him start to wonder just when the guy was taken to this city, but he seemed at least a lot more used to the city than he was.
How long had he been here already?
But that tone. When Jouji replied, Hongou felt confusion and like it was almost an attack. He wanted his distance from Hongou didn’t he? But why? He had to have been taken very early. Too early for them to have met.
     This was bad wasn’t it?
“Yuuki. You should guess I’ve read your work.” Hongou started as a basic cover up. “You are a great scientist. I always wanted to work with you on a project or too. But I hear your dad really has you busy, too busy for outside work.”
Maybe a line like that might get him an idea when Jouji was taken? Either way, he feared the worse. Was he pre-Riderman? Was he in the middle path Shirou spoke of? When was he?

“Yuuki.”
Jouji turned at the sound of his name. He wasn’t familiar with the voice, though he was familiar with the image of the man who said it. He narrowed his eyes a fraction. Now why on Earth would Dr. Takeshi Hongou know his name? He was sure he hadn’t had his own image published in any journals Great Leader had him submit his work to.
He also knew that the other was a cyborg and enemy to his father’s goal. Jouji, still, had no idea how the man was able to connect face to name having nothing to go on. Unless, Hongou had seen him when he ransacked one of his father’s outposts and also heard his name. But, Jouji was sure he hadn’t even been on any of those. He’d always been moved around to new projects before.
Tumblr media
“Dr. Takeshi Hongou,” he said, bowing his head in respect for the fellow scientist. “How did you know my name?”

Everything was added up. Practically two of everything. But still nothing all that useful for a first aid kit for a human or a cyborg. He’d have to get supplies asap and bring them back.
In a place like this, not having tools available to fix an injury at the ready could be trouble.
With a list of supplies he needed to get set and ready in his head, Hongou was prepared to leave to collect them. Supplies to prepare for the worst. Supplies to also just do regular maintenance.
Opening up the door to get going on his trek he felt a weight stop the door from fully opening and a yell out when it stopped. “Huh?” It didn’t even dawn on him at first until a moment went past that he finally realized.
     ”Oi! Are you alright?”
Carefully reopening the door, making sure not to hit the poor guy again, he tried to squeeze himself out to see who he hit and to take care of him. Only to find a giant grin on his face and a warmth in his heart.
“Ichimonji! It’s you! You’re the roommate!” He could barely contain his glee as he quickly opened the door fully and pulled the injured cyborg along with him back inside. Already working to get some cloth and water to clean up his nose.
“It’s good to see you. Though I didn’t expect it to be a bloody visit.”

He got a good enough look of the area for now. His camera was filled with pictures of locations. His mind was processing the violent nature of the area and how things connected with each other.
Hayato nabbed a map of the city off some kiosk on the side of the road. He used it to find his way to the underground district that now served as his home base. As to where his new residence was, he would find that in time. The fog was rather thick.
Eventually, he did find the hut. The lights were already on, which he found odd. Hayato narrowed his eyes and readied himself for dealing with an intruder his first day in this experiment. The cyborg approached the door, reaching for the doorknob.
“Ah!” The edge of the door slammed into his nose, nearly breaking it in the process. (Odd, he should have broken the door, instead.) He backed away a step or two, hands clutching his face as he tilted forward to deal with the subsequent nosebleed. “Damn it,” he hissed, his teeth practically glued together and eyes screwed shut. He could feel blood pounding in his ears as a headache began to form. “Who the hell…?”

Dealing with people who weren’t very friendly, normal. Dealing with people who faked being friendly, also normal. Sometimes Hongou was even one of those people. If only because sometimes he naturally doesn’t do the friendly people expect. Tachibana taught him well but he still had to act it sometimes.
Being asked for help though, of any kind, always made he feel a sense of calm. Directions was a nice easy thing to help with too. Hearing the question he laughed a little soft, not at him. But more of a laugh to try to calm things.
“It’s no bother. I only just got in the city myself. I believe District Alpha should be under Sector 001. They seem to keep Districts around the relevant number to make them easy to find.”

“–Uh, hey? Excuse me-” Reach out at a random passerby for their attention? Well, why not? He didn’t know how else to get started on his “epic adventure,” so to put it. The scientists weren’t going to help him currently either. And no phone… what a crock. Did this mean he had to be nice to people he couldn’t trust as far as he could throw them? Lovely.
“I hate to bother you-” that was such a lie. The smile on his face was a dead give away, and Jin was no stranger to roping up ‘volunteers’ if he wanted help, “- but do you know what in the fresh hell a District Alpha is?”

Being in this new city was a sort of an experience Hongou wasn’t exactly expecting. Sure, it was just a city. It really did feel like it. But it was still an experiment, and experiment can mean a lot of different things depending on the people and part of him still feared this place would be nothing more than a more elaborate plot by someone similar to if not Great Leader himself.
And that was why he found himself, after taking care of Hayato’s damaged noise (I’m so sorry partner! I didn’t expect you’d be right there as I opened the door!) he was going to go buy and put together a cyborg first aid kit to keep in their little hut.
Going around to find where shops would end up being wasn’t something he expected to end up into a Masked Rider related disguession with strangers in a city he had no idea would even have knowledge of his, and his juniors’ legacy.
“Hm?” Hongou’s first reaction to being asked was nothing more than a little peep of curiosity and confusion. “The Masked Riders?” Was there any reason to lie? In a place like this?
“I suppose I have to say I have. A lot of stories. All going back to 1971.” There was a chuckle a bit, as he tried to keep himself relaxed as usual. He just wasn’t expecting this conversation so soon. “I didn’t expect the stories to end up in a place like this. I only just arrived and here the title still has meaning.”
A moment’s pause before the first Rider whispered a bit off to himself. A little side thought of curiosity. “I wonder if I should be proud.”
Considering the overall tense atmosphere of sector oo3, a group of excited children on the side of a street was a rare occurrence. Their voices carried over to Hajime as he walked among others on the sidewalk. A soft smile at seeing these children able to be carefree turned into a momentary look of surprise when words began to stick out to him.
“The Kamen Rider saved the day!” Laughing followed, and from there he couldn’t catch more than a single word here and there.
Briefly he wondered if they’d seen him fighting off the recent monster in the same sector, or if he wasn’t alone in (sort of) bearing that title. All he knew was that they couldn’t be talking about the person that deserved it more than him. From checking his phone contacts daily, he knew Kenzaki hadn’t returned.
The stunned expression shifted into an entertained glance at the stranger walking beside him. “Have you heard of them?” Hajime asked him. “The Kamen Riders.”

Although things were going well so far in his findings in this new city. Those findings though small since he only just left his place to actually start searching around and wondering, he obviously already made a tad mistake.
Trying to get a grip on the new types of people he’d encounter, it seemed he kept his gaze a bit too long. Or maybe he did his scientist stare, he wasn’t sure. As good as he seemed and pretended to be at human interactions, many were still lost to him.
“Sorry about that. I didn’t mean to look like that. Didn’t realize I was looking so much.” That genuine smile went across his lips he was oh-so known for back home. “I mean nothing by it sir.”

Tadashi’s standing off to the side of the pathway, the bb gun he’d been given upon his arrival spinning on his index finger. He still couldn’t make sense of what this place was but he had noticed the guy that was staring at him.

Okay, can this place get any more weird?
Now people keep getting messages about breaking innocence?
“What is even being planned out there in the abyss? Makes me think Hayato’s playing a joke on everyone. Hope it’s a Hayato joke and not a Great Leader one.”
He sighed a bit. Hongou wasn’t sure what to think. “Hayato..”

Waking up from a nap you’re not sure what’s worse.
Is it the issue of royalty that’s going all over the place or the weird oddities going on about some rabbit man and a grumpy kid?
Maybe going back to bed would be better.
