tiefling twednesday!!!!!
my friend is running the wild beyond the witchlight starting end of january and i'm SO EXCITED!!!!! i've wanted to play witchlight since it came out and i kept getting closer to just giving up and running it myself just so someone would get to play it but now!! i get to play!!
i'd been toying with a few ideas for various classes since the dm said she wanted to run it but the moment it became real i tossed them all out the window and went back to my warlock roots
meet Foxglove! i don't have all their details ironed out yet, but their vague backstory is that they were abandoned as a baby in the forest by their birth parents who didn't want a tiefling. they were found and brought into the feywild by a clan of pixies who raised them. they're fun loving and carefree and mischevious, as befits someone raised by pixies. their warlock patron is Zybilna the fairy godmother.
some fun facts are that they are 6.5 feet tall (with the antlers), they're a vegetarian (really more of a frugivore), they collect little things (lost objects, shiny rocks, etc), and they looked very different as a baby but being in the feywild for so long influenced their appearance as they grew up

I know exactly zero things about d&d but I was poking through the forgotten realms wiki for idea on who to headcanon as Elissa's patron since I'm playing her as a warlock this time and I went with archfey because the abilities were cool, and I'm not going with this but it would be very funny
I'm just imagining all the scenes of Astarion trying to pretend so hard that he's not a vampire while Elissa is just staring at him trying to decide if she has the fortitude to go along with whatever he's doing

the inspector, despite his age, remembers his manners. he comes glamoured into zyblina's home, tucked into his small shape. they give a bow, a curtsy with one of their many hands on their skirts, and click their mandibles in greeting.
" good lady, i thank you for your hospitality. i hope you do not mind such a sudden visit. "

zybilna in return gives a bow, her own skirts fluttering as if with wind. her lips, painted rosy, curl into a smile -- one that shows perhaps too many teeth. “i never mind company.” she said, gesturing for them to follow. she leads him into the parlor room, where a besuited man is bustling around to prepare tea. she sits, and gestures for them to do the same. “thinnings, you may go, dear.” her tone is sweet and kind towards the man, who glances to the guest, then his mistress and departs.
“is there a reason for this visit?” she inquires, curiously, beginning to prepare her tea.

Okay so I've begun rewatching witchlight for the ask blog, and the Lexi Potts scene made me realise something, or moreso farther confirm something I already suspected.
spoilers ahead, beware
The King of Hearts is absolutely not to be trusted. He is absolutely the one who killed Lexi.
When explaining to the party what happened, Lexi said "I can't speak his name... he's going to prismeer, he's going to wake her... i shouldn't have tried to warn them, he took my wings"
I have reason to believe that the "them" she spoke of was Mr. Witch and Mr. Light, because who else would you warn about a threat other than the people who control the portal between the worlds?
This means that it likely wasn't either of them. The reason I believe it was the king of hearts is because of the whole "I can't speak his name" statement.
The only other times we see people unable to say the names of those who harmed them (ie diana cloppington, chucklehead) said people have been very powerful. Let's be real, the KoH is probably the ONLY super powerful male figure in OUAW who is relevent to the specific story (ruling out the baron, obviously).
I also don't think the "her" he's trying to free is Zybilna, atleast if it's to be believed that Zybilna was a good person, which I still personally believe. I think that he's actually going to unleash is this 4th mother hag that's been hinted at (who may or may not be baba yaga)
This also means that the KoH was in Avantris for some period of time, and that part... I haven't pinned down yet. I've seen some speculate that the KoH is Madryck Roslof but I don't really buy it.
Anyway those are my insane ramblings. Sorry if all this shit was obvious and I'm just slow.

One of the PCs in the Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign I’m running and his new familiar! Ken is a warlock in a pact with Zybilna, and was entrusted with a bit of her power to nurture and grow. At level 3, this turned out to be quite literal when a baby… pseudodragon… hatched from his chest! He’s named it Calypso :3

My art range goes from being very awful to do vaguely correct illustrations. Tonight is the lazy sketchy range because I need an idea out of the brain since we played last week.
It's very messy, very sketchy, but I needed it out of my head. I couldn't draw the pose correctly, so I've used null entity's photo as references.
We went to a weird tower in our TWBtW campaign, presumably Zybilna's tower and the heart of Prismeer. There was a bleeding celestial trapped in one of the rooms, so ofc Vae wanted to take its blood.

ouaw spoilers up to like episode 19 ? Maybe farther than that but not in depth, up to ep ~30 in tags (vaguely)
But I was rewatching episode 9 for normal reasons and Mr Light going “I can’t promise [Kettlesteam] won’t be injured when captured but I can promise you won’t be the one doing the injuring” HE FUCKING KNEW. THAT RAT BASTARD. did they send the missing kids away knowing that too.
Plus the ransom note Witch gave the party about Torbek. Like they sent him away to the Faewild KNOWING what would happen to him just because ?? He got a bit drunk and caused some havoc?? Bro?? Morals???
Also Light just straight up lying about not knowing Zybilna??? What r ur plans bud. (This one might be true idk I’m just losing my mind)
