Because Your Mine
Oc drabble| Zeke Corvo (featuring Dave who belongs to @/dorky-crow.) [NSFW: sex implied] [yandere undertones]
Zeke was finished for the day, and ready to just enjoy an evening alone with his husband, Dave. It hadn't been that long ago when Dave had been kidnapped but least things were more clam now. Dave no longer need to cling to Zeke and relie on hkm for everything. A part of Zeke missed that dependence though. Dave's entier life revolved around Zeke during his recovery.
Zeke entered thier home and glanced around seeing no sign of Dave, then made his way towards thier bedroom feeling relief when he could see the light was on.
"Dear I was thinking we could order in tonight for dinner." Zeke said when he entered thier room. Only to be met with the sight of his husband standing in front of the full length mirror. Dave was lost in his own thoughts as he stared at his reflection. Zeke slowly made his way over to his husband, as Dave was to focused on the dress he had put on.
“My pretty bird” Zeke said softly as he gently hugged Dave from behind.
Dave blushed softly, he had just wanted to try out wearing something a bit different today. He had bought the dress a while back but just never got himself to wear it till now. He wanted to just see how it would look. A simple pink and white summer dress, the colors looked so nice next to Zeke’s black and blood red feathers as he could see Zeke’s reflection in the mirror. Zeke gently nuzzled his beak against Dave’s neck. Preening at his neck feathers, lovingly careful not to use any of the jagged spots of his beak when he did.
“You look wonderful my queen.” Zeke cooed as he started to pepper kisses along Dave’s neck. Slowly pulling Dave closer into his hold. Letting a hand trail down Dave’s arm as he gently traced over those old wounds that had scared the small black bird's arm.
Dave slightly tense up as his attention was drawn to those scars. It had been quite sometime since the Etzle family kidnapped Dave. But, the memories were still too fresh for as well. Locked up for days, where he was tormented everyday by that family trying to make him speak but Dave never gave them anything.
Zeke lifted up his hand to gently take hold of Dave’s face, getting him to look back to the mirror so he could see he was in Zeke’s hold.
“You are not there anymore. You're back where you always should be, here with me. as mine.” Zeke assured his little bird.
“Right, I’m back here with my king.”
Zeke smiled hearing Dave say that then gently moved closer to the mirror slightly pressing his husband against the cold glass.
“Whose?” he softly asked as he went back to kissing Dave’s neck. Holding him to the mirror to get his point across to his queen.
“K king Zeke” Dave quietly said in response.
Zeke slowly turned Dave around to face him. so he could see his queen’s face better. “Don’t worry Dave I protected you then I will keep protecting you now. You will never go through such a thing again. Your future, your life they belong to me. So you can not die without my say.” Zeke spoke softly as he gently ran hand down the side of Dave’s face. “And no one else can try and take it from you either. Just like the [Risotto] I'll do whatever it takes to get them away from my dear queen. Their dreaded touch will never taint my precious cupcake again.”
Dave just nodded slightly listening to Zeke speak. Slowly reached out to take hold of Zeke’s forearm as he leaned into the palm of Zeke's hand. “This is where I belong. I am safe because you own me.”
“Yes you belong to me every part of you is mine.” Zeke smiled and pressed Dave against the mirror again returning to kiss his neck. “My queen really does look amazing, I don’t know how long this will stay on you.” he said as he began to trail hands down Dave’s sides. Till reaching the hem of Dave's dress, slowly moving his hands under the fabric so he could start lifting it up.
“My king” Dave breathed out, as he could feel Zeke's hands against his feathers, Zeke looked at him waiting to see what he was going to say. Dave could feel how flushed his cheeks were and Zeke’s expression didn’t help. His king wanted him now. “Make me yours.” Dave let slip out earning a lovingly look from his king.

the king's ascension. Prolouge.
“ celebration”
Oc Fic| DarkWing Duck 91’ universe.Zeke Corvo and Dave Curant (belongs to @dorky-crow )
Story contains: mentions of abuse, slurs, swearing, violence, and blood.
A/N: I might just really wanna write fights haha well here we are back at it again with Dave and Zeke. Going more into Zekes pov this time around. This is a soft start as well just to catch up to where they are in this story.
____________________________________________________________________________
The feeling of my knuckles ramming into the fresh feeling of feathers. The contact of bone hitting bone sensing a bit of pain through my hand as I pushed forward with more force making the victim of my punch fall back into the wall behind him. It was just something I never really got over the rush and delight it gave. I moved in on my new found prey and grabbed the duck by the neck pinning him to the brick wall. Eyes narrowed on him, as the duck look of fear filled me with the most delighted feeling. Only for it all to fade as the footsteps of my brother brought me back to reality.
"Now then are you going to pay up or do I let my brother here finish what he started?" Micheal, Zeke's eldest brother, said.
The duck was quick to follow with Micheal's wants so I let him go. Dropping him to the ground. Then took a step back well Micheal spoke with the duck some more. This was what I was, just  a pair of fists so Micheal didn't have to dirty his own hands. This was my use in the family, the role I fill.
-------------------------------------
I looked down at my  knuckles. They still kind of throbbed from last night. And let out a heavy sigh as I looked up to the school building. My  other life where I was a normal high school student who had a paper due and a test today. This part of life was truly nothing but well mundane. Well outside one thing.
"Zeke wait up!"
I could just hear the smile from his voice alone. I stopped cold in my tracks and looked back to find Dave. He was quickly scurrying over trying to close the distance between us as fast as he could, soon out of breath once he finally got to me.
"I I s saw you a and"
"Breath Dave " I said to the small black bird. He didn't grow much since we were kids still small and light as a feather. Once Dave caught his breath we started to walk towards the front doors of the school.
This odd friendship I got into had managed to last as we moved on to highschool. Not that I hate it, being around Dave was just. Nice.
"Well see after she found her seal skin she took it and ran out of the lighthouse. Her husband watched to see her jump off the cliff and return to the sea." Dave finished, having been telling me another of his fairy tale stories. "Were you listening?" Dave asked a bit of hesitation in his voice.
"Of course, she was a silkie. The man stole her skin, so to keep her around. So is that like those mermaids you mentioned before?"
Dave smiled before going to answer. Dave never really outgrew his love for fairy tales if anything it grew even more. Always telling me about a new one or just something about them. Different versions or similar ones he found interesting. It was actually that interest of his that led to the surprise I had for Dave. *
As much as I  hate being a tool for Micheals use it did provide some benefits. Zeke just grinned to himself thinking of the admittedly poorly wrapped gift in his bag.
They had made their way to Dave's locker as he kept happily chatting to Zeke. Making a switch of stuff to put in his locker and stuff to put into his locker. Zeke quick to take a moment to stash his surprise into Dave's locker when he wasn't looking. He wasn't the most observant and shut the door once done.
"Ready to go to class Zeke?" Dave asked once all settled.
"Of course lead the way."
---------------------------------------
Come lunchtime Dave was wiggling around in his seat, I was pretending not to notice. It was a bit mean but it was a good tell when Dave had something on his mind. I finally decided to end it though when Dave kept looking up at me every few seconds.
"Something up Dave?"
"W well I was wondering if you uh could come over tonight? Uh to my house I mean. See mom wants to make a big dinner and."
"Oh for what?"
"For what?" Dave said, starting to fidget with his hands as he tried to think of what to say. "W well I mean today is a special day and uh I wanted to have a friend over."
Oh I really shouldn't. I know I shouldn't, but I just can't help it. Teasing Dave and messing with him it is just too easy. I leaned over the table easily getting Dave to look at me he gave a small awkward giggle as a response.
"For what? I mean if it's something special I could see about stopping by and staying around."
Dave instead got quiet and looked down clearly feeling disappointed but I couldn't give in yet no matter how sad Dave looked. instead I moved away and got up and stretched out my arms sticking to my act.
"Well if that's that we better get ready for the next class right?"
"Oh I need to get my books!" Dave said getting up as well and running off to get to his locker.
I smiled and hung back, sitting back down at the table timing it in my head. On when Dave would return. When seeing him running back to the table excited, nearly bouncing on his heels as he moved his feet as fast as he could.
"You did know!"
"Know what?"
Dave just smiled and looked at the poorly wrapped present in his hands. Then glanced back at me unsure if he could rip it open yet. I just nodded to answer. And, he ripped into it staring quietly at the book. Slowly opening it up and looking over the pages. It was the same copy of the book he owned a while back. The one that got messed up when we first met.
"Y you found a copy?" Dave finally said.
I nodded a bit again. Well found is a stretch I kind of went looking for it. When out running jobs and what not. I got lucky last night finally seeing a bookstore that had this book. I rubbed at the back of my neck as he spoke. "I happened to remember what it looked like and when I saw this I just thought."
God why am I rambling now. It's just a book.
I looked back to Dave and just smiled seeing how happy he was with his gift. The moment ruined when overhearing judgmental whispers from those who passed by the pair.
Not today.
I glared watching the kids run away the moment my eyes landed on them. Nothing was going to ruin Dave's birthday, I was going to make sure of that.
-----------------
And I was doing good on that promise Dave was home happily eating the dinner his mother made and showing off the book he got . Both his parents glanced over to me and again I felt a bit flustered. They knew I was planning on getting him that book, after all I asked if they remembered where it came from. I stood up and started to clear the table for them any excuse to get away from those stares. I was around their home enough these days that I just fit right in around the place and was not a guest in their eyes. Dave was quick to help out as he gathered some dishes as well and followed along with me, into the kitchen. I took some plates from Dave to lighten up his load. Always trying to grab more than he could handle so to help.
Dave went on and on about how great his day had been as I absently listened. This was nice. I liked being here, part of why I was always over at the Curant's home. I can be normal here, except it was just an act. No different than a kid playing house. I looked at my knuckles and gently made a fist. I knew what I really was when not pretending.
The soft touch of Dave's hand suddenly, over my own took my attention. He was always so gentle, Dave looked over my knuckles gently rubbing his thumb across them as he asked if it hurt. I could live in this warmth that seemed to take me over whenever with Dave. shake that thought out fast. I pulled my hand away from Dave. Careful not to come off in a bad way as I took hold of my hand and traced over my knuckles. Dave's warmth gone.
"I'm fine, just a bit tender is all"  I said then smiled, he knew I fought but not, the extent beyound that. "think your parents are ready for your cake we should head back."
As much as I wanted that I also had to deny myself of  it. Because of the things I do and enjoyed doing. This was just an escape to be around the Curants, a way to destress.

When you befriend the king pt. 4
“Loser”
Oc Fic| DarkWing Duck 91’ universe.Zeke Corvo and Dave “dorky” Curant @dorky-crow
Bullying, Slurs, offensive language
A/N Sorry I made him cry. Also if you haven't noticed I tend to update warnings per chapter to show a heads up of what happens in the chapter. Also a chance to see the type of person Zeke really is under all that trouble he deals with in this one (psst  he is a sap).
____________________________________________________________________________
Zeke was wandering around the back streets of St.carnad, since he left school so early he didn't want to head home yet, he was still paying for messing up Micheal’s face a week ago. Zeke smiled thinking about that again. The joy of that soon erased as Dave’s shocked expression replaced Micheals look of fear in Zeke’s mind. Zeke just shook his head to get rid of it physically. Why did that bother him so much? He had a reason for making things clear with that dork, least Zeke thought he knew those reasons before.
Zeke sighed and lowered his head to look at the ground, he spotted a rock and gave it a kick sending it flying when he did. He walked up to where it landed and gave it another lighter kick. It went forward again and Zeke continued this as he walked. Focusing on the rock the whole time as he thought to himself a bit.
He thought he was just annoyed with the black bird always coming to him and sticking to his side almost like he was glued to Zeke. That wasn’t it though. Zeke thought maybe it was because of what having him around did for Zeke’s rep. But, that hadn’t really affected him too much really. Outside the way people stared when they were together. Zeked annoyed thinking of the way the nurses at school acted when Dave and him were in her office. He gave the rock a swift kick and sent it into the air this time. Zeke didn’t care where it landed as he just looked at his feet.
“Uh maybe you should try to join a team in high school” A voice said to him
Zeke looked up to see Mac he was holding the rock that Zeke just sent flying in his hand. The Pigeon looking it over ss if it wasn’t just a simple pebble. He then smiled down to Zeke.
“Playing hooky? Or did the school tell you not to bother today since you like to cause trouble?” Mac teased him as he dropped the rock. Mac then lowered himself down to one of his knees to be at eye level with Zeke. “I have some stuff to help take care of today. I'm sure it’ll be okay to have a little extra help from a tag along.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Hmm so you left after being in the office and telling that kid off uh?” Mac asked as Zeke and him were sitting in the car.
Mac had been running all over the place meeting up with some people Zeke assumed it had to do with family business. Not once asking Zeke what happened and didn’t say anything about having to talk to his dad about him skipping. Even when the school called, Zeke didn’t know Mac was the one who got those calls till now. Even after that he didn’t ask. So Zeke just told him what happened, something about Mac always drew that out of him even if it wasn’t always right away.
“Guess they were just worried that the kid was in danger being around the trouble maker.” Mac stated simply as he parked the car in an empty lot.
Zeke was staring out the window looking at the backside of the buildings the lot was used for. Only three other cars were parked here, Zeke giving them more attention than Mac before letting out a heavy sigh.
“Was it really that much a bother to deal with this kid hanging around you?” Mac asked as he removed his glass pretending they needed to be cleaned. “You don’t spend time around anyone your own age really. Only ever spent time around your grandfather. And his associates, seems you may be a little awkward around people your own age.” was all Mac offered to say on the matter.
It did give the young dracula parrot some things to think about as the days went on. Zeke went to school the next day. Dave stayed away though. Zeke didn’t even see him till their math class, where the little bird didn’t even bother to give him a hello, not verbally or even with a look. Seemed like he was trying to avoid looking at him altogether. It was for the best Zeke felt though.
The following day Zeke skipped out on a class and was hiding out where no teacher would bother him. Sitting in the farthest corner of the school's library.
“Guess that idiot lost his bodyguard finally”
“He probably was paying that kid to work for him so we would leave dorky alone.”
“Ha he couldn’t even pay someone enough to stick around him!”
Zeke could overhear a conversation on the other side of one of the book cases, he got up and removed a book on one of the higher shelves. Using the empty space it left as a pep hole as he could see a few kids on the other side. He recognized some of them, it was one of the kids he beat up a while ago, and another was the kid who tried to trip Dave in the hallway. Zeke placed the book back and left shortly after.
Three days after that Zeke had started to notice that Dave was always alone. Zeke one day watching from an empty class room window. Always saw the kid come to school alone, no one to greet him, and he never waited for anyone else. He would leave his dad’s car after getting dropped off. Found somewhere to sit and worte in a notebook or read a book. At lunch he sat by himself, no one ever dared to sit at the same table. If he couldn’t get a table he sat on the floor along the wall of the commons. Always walked to each class alone too. During all of that time of seeing this Zeke realized he never heard Dave’s voice once. He was just so quiet.
Zeke couldn’t understand how that could be seeing as the kid never shut up when he was around Zeke. Always going on about some fairy tale he liked or some new cooking tricked he heard about and what to try. Like putting zucchini into a chocolate cake to make it wet? Something like that. Sounded gross.
I kind of miss it though.
Zeke found himself thinking. A whole two weeks had passed now since he told Dave to leave him alone. Dave had only hung around him for three days before that, yet that kid seemed to flock to Zeke like he had always done before. His consistent chatter, the way he had to walk faster to keep up with Zeke.  The way his attention always snapped to Zeke right away when Zeke would go to talk. Zeke found himself walking into the commons lost in his thoughts of the black bird when feeling someone bump into him.
“O oh i’m sorry I wasn’t”
Zeke looked down right away as soon as that voice registered to him. Only now seeing he was blocking the exit of the lunch line. But more importantly he happened to do so when Dave was leaving the line with his food. He didn’t spill anything, he just got some stuff tossed around on his plastic tray. Dave straightened some things up before looking up and his eyes widened when seeing Zeke, he went to speak but stopped and looked back down to his food.
“S sorry.” He said again then walked around Zeke making his way to an empty table.
“What an idiot. Like he couldn’t see him he's freaking huge.”
Zeke was quick to glare at the kid talking. Then moved on out of the way standing off against the walls as he tried to look in the commons again for Dave. Feeling stupid at how much the sound of the bird voice changed his mood. And even more when he smiled once finding the small bird again. Dave was fixing up his tray of food putting everything back into place and did a small little wiggle to get settled into his spot as he was about to eat.
That was just him being a dork through and through. Zeke frowned a bit he didn’t realize he actually enjoyed having someone around like Dave used to be. Dave didn’t seem scared of him just seemed to be doing what Zeke wanted by staying away from him. So that meant Zeke could fix things with him. Zeke just had no idea on how to do that. Mac may have a point in what he said the other day. Zeke knew how to talk to the adults that were always around his grandpa but he didn’t know how to talk normally. At least not like how everyone at school talked to each other. Maybe it didn’t matter what he said as long as he said something. Zeke gave himself the boost he needed. But stopped when catching  a group of kids heading over to Dave.
“Hey dorky!” One of them called out getting Dave’s attention when they did “We saw you walk away from the parrot kid, guess your little friendship didn’t last uh?”
Dave got quiet at the mention of Zeke and went to speak but was soon cut off as the kids kept the conversation going.
“Guess the rumor was true you couldn’t pay him enough anymore uh?”
“Pay?” Dave asked confused
“More like he got sick of being around this idiot.” the third kid added in as he laughed
“Or, he find out about Dorky?”
“Ohh you mean about how hes a little ol fag?”
“Chased Zeke right off”
Dave looked away from them and down to his tray of fo as the kids kept hammering in the word and how Zeke got some sense in him to get Dave to leave him alone. Dave was yanked out from thought when one of the kids frocely grabbed him
“Hey were talking to you, or did us bring up your crush get you to gay to listen?”
Soon after Dave felt the sudden luck warm milk from his tray poured onto his head, as the kid holding him started to laugh. The third kid of the group followed up by dropping the rest of his lunch on his head.
“Oh my god ha!” the kid holding him said and dropped Dave to the floor as he laughed.
Dave stared at the ground as he could see food and milk drip off his head. Listening to the kids laugh around him loudly. He tightened his hands into fists and clenched his eyes shut trying to hold back the tears burning at his eyes. But suddenly the laughing stopped, Dave slowly opened his eyes and lifted his head up to see Zeke standing in front of him, he held his hand out to the little bird who was slow to take it. With barely any effort Zeke pulled Dave up to his feet and brushed off some corn kernels that were on his shoulder off. Dave was about to speak but Zeke held up his hand to tell him not to.
“Oh making new friends uh” Zeke said in a tone that sent a bit of a chill into the air. “ mm don’t know how I feel about that im a bit of the jealous type you see.” Zeke began to say as he headed towards the kids who were kicked to run away soon as he stepped closer. “Pft bunch of wimps.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zeke was leaning against the wall of the bathroom as Dave cleaned himself off. Zeke was surprised how chipper he seemed to be right now.Happily humming as he dried the milk off himself and tried removing the stains on his shirt. Zeke was expecting him to be crying at least. He knew what he would say though if he asked about it, Zeke just grew more annoyed with himself and let out an annoyed gorn.
“Oh sorry is the humming too much?” Dave asked suddenly
“No just… about the other day I want to..I mean I didn’t really mean it.” Zeke tried to talk but he just couldn’t get the words right when he did.
As he struggled to the talk the little bird smiled and walked over to Zeke
“Did you mean what you said earlier?”
“What part?”
“Well you didn’t really say we're friends but did you mean that?” Dave pressed
Zeke was quite a moment as he looked the bird over, he looked like a mess still even after trying to clean himself up. Without a word Zeke took off his grey hoodie and handed it over to Dave to wear. That would at least cover his shirt up he figured. Dave just stared at the hoodie when Zeke held it out to him.
“Just put it on Dave.”
Dave quickly took it from Zeke. As he pulled it over himself and he tried to smooth it out once on. It slightly sagged around the black bird since he was so small compared to Zeke. But, he smiled anyway once it was on. Zeke rubbed at the back of his neck before he went to speak.
“I don’t really know how to have friends.”
“That's okay I’ve never had friends!” Dave was quick to say, even if that was more sad than reassuring. “B but I would like to be friends with you Zeke.” Dave then fumbled with his hands a bit “I promise I won't bug you like before.”
Zeke felt his chest tighten but smiled at Dave “Nah it’s fine, do what you want. Yell out my name in the hall if you see me talk my ears off whatever. Don’t worry so much about that stuff I well kind of missed it to be honest with you.”
Dave smiled back happily “Then can I hang around you again?”
“May be best if you do, you seem to attract trouble when I’m not around.” Zeke joked a bit. "For now that's just how we'll leave things as is. Alright?"
Dave just nodded accepting that easily, the bell then rung and ended their moment as the hallways soon erupted from the noise of kids filling them headed to their next class.

When you befriend the king part 3.
“Unsettling ”
Oc Fic| DarkWing Duck 91’ universe| Zeke Corvo and Dave “dorky” Curant belongs to @dorky-crow
Mentioning of bullying.
A/N I ended up spilting this bit up so in theory there is 3 more parts to this to come.
____________________________________________________________________________
"Zeke!" Was suddenly yelled out across the hall Zeke couldn't see him in the crowd but knew that Dave was making his way over to himself.
The guy was so small you never could see him among the other kids when the hallways were full. Dave managed to break through and made his way to Zeke where the crowd was always the least dense. Slightly tripping over someone who just happened to hold out thier foot a little too farnoit. Zeke held out his arm for Dave to grab on to and shot a glare towards the kid who did it.
"Oh thanks!" Dave said completely unaware of what happened. "I made some cookies the other day and figured you might like some so I"
This kid just never let's up. Though despite that thought Zeke couldn't help but smile as Dave talked to him. He was always just so open about the way he did. He never trembled around Zeke, he always used the same tone when speaking and he was never scared of looking at Zeke directly. This has become a normal occurrence over the week. The little black bird always found him. Either before school , to hang out around him. Or to talk to him in the hallways between class and even joined him for lunch where he usually was giving Zeke whatever baked goods he made the day before.
It's nice.
"Hey zeke you going to go to math today?" Dave suddenly asked grabbing Zeke's attetion
Zeke thought about it a moment able to see the stares the two of them were getting as kids walked by them.
“Hm no not today.”
“Oh then I’ll see you during lunch today!” Dave said happily before heading off back into the crowd.
Zeke smiled again when the little bird jumped up suddenly to wave goodbye to him.
It was easy to see why that kid got bullied. He was nice so it seemed he was often taken advantage of. He was too nice is what Zeke also thought, always being nice to someone like himself. Maybe he felt he owed Zeke? That could be possible but bullies still did stuff to him. Or, maybe he was using Zeke to keep bullies away? No that sounded stupid the moment he thought it. Maybe that little bird was just scared of Zeke? Yeah that was also dumb to think with how easily he appoarches him.
Zeke decided to not worry about it as he rested his head on the table he was sitting at in the library. He was trying to hide, it was the one place he figured Dave wouldn’t think to look for him. Least that was the idea. That kid was always flocking to him lately and just wanting to talk or he would just sit quietly next to Zeke. He just didn’t get it. Most kids didn’t do these things. They either stayed away or did what Zeke said to be on his good side, not that either reaction wasn’t justified of course. It was just hard to understand why he didn’t. Zeke groaned and finally lifted his head,  eyes widening when seeing the same black bird he was thinking about in front of him.
“Zeke are you okay?”
“Am I what?” Zeke could only think to ask
Dave moved closer attempting to touch Zeke’s forehead but then stopped
“Y you seemed a bit out of it just now and you were goaning so I thought maybe you were feeling sick that’s why you were in here today.” He said once again fumbling with his hands as he spoke.
“No I was just thinking that’s all” Zeke said, unable to think of a lie as he just opted to rest his head on the table again.
And of course the dork just smiled and sat with him, he seemed to work on something letting Zeke rest. Zeke just sighed and finally sat up Dave seeming to give him his attention when he did. Zeke was about to speak when seeing some kids at the table behind Dave, started to whisper to each other. As they set sights on them.
“Zeke, do you need to see the nurse maybe? You really don’t seem too well?”
That warmth again.
Zeke just nodded in response as he moved up to his feet, Dave packed up his stuff and took the lead this time as Zeke couldn’t help but pay attention to the looks from the kids in the library to even the librarian herself. The nurse had the same expression once seeing Zeke and Dave walk into her office together.
“Hi Miss.Crimson”  Dave spoke up in his dorky cheerful tone drawing the eldly ducks, attention away from Zeke as she looked down to the little black bird. She offered him a warm smile before she went to speak to him.
“Hello Dave, what brings you in? Not feeling well? Wanting to help out? Or something else?” It wasn’t lost on Zeke the way she looked back at him with the last question.
“Nope my friend isn’t feeling good and I think he might just need to rest a bit. I was just worried about him though and thought it might be okay if I stayed with him?”
“You sure? I can watch over him so you can go to class.” She said emphasizing a bit like she was offering the black bird a way out.
“It’s fine I know you have to make sure you are stocked on stuff today and if I explain to my parents later they won’t mind me missing class, besides I can work on some homework in the meantime too.”
She seemed unable to say anything against that and just gave in with a smile “Well alright you keep an eye on your, friend.” She told Dave then picked up her clipboard to get back to checking her stock in the small walk in closet of her office.
“See all good you can rest now.” Dave stopped speaking when seeing Zeke was already laying down. He just smiled and left him be so he could rest up.
But Zeke couldn't ’r. Those same buzzing thoughts just kept growing and getting more and more irritating to deal with. Those looks from everyone the way this stupid duck spoke like Zeke was going todo something or was up to something. It all just piled on and soured his mood. And yet.
My friend.
That kept repeating in the back of his mind. Friends, that wasn’t something he had. Zeke had ‘family’ he had those in the family who were related to their dealings he even knew some other kids of associations of the Crovo family. And had some extended family around his age as well. That wasn't the same thing though. Zeke tossed a bit on the small bed that was offered to students to rest in if they needed it. He just couldn’t take it anymore, soon he just gave up altogether and got out of the bed not stopping to say anything as he made his way out of the nurses office.
Zeke was almost out the front doors of the school when he felt the gentle hold of Dave’s hands on his arm. Zeke felt himself come to a full stop but was unable to look at Dave. He felt Dave slowly let go once seeing Zeke had stopped.
“Z Zeke you should lie down you” He trailed off a moment “What’s wrong you seem so off today you can tell me if you too.”
Zeke groaned internally then looked at the little black bird. Dave just smiled a bit at him like he was expecting some answer from Zeke. Zeke didn’t have one. Just some thoughts that were running through his mind that he didn’t know how to comphered. Expect one.
“I’m not your friend.” Zeke simply stated
“What?” Dave asked softly.
“I said I am not your friend. You don’t need to lie like that you paid what you owned so you can stop hanging around me already. Alright?”
“B but I wasn’t I that isn’t why I” Dave tried to speak but couldn’t seem to put together his words well enough.
Zeke adovied looking at him as he pushed opened the the door in front of him.
“Look, I did what I did because I wanted to. There is no reason for you to stick around me, You can go back to whatever it is you did before. Hang out with your friends and I’ll leave you be so you don’t have to keep dealing with those stares and concern from everyone.”
“The what? Zeke what are you talking about?” Dave said
“Just forget it okay” Zeke huffed out then left.
