But holy crap there’s so much Mokuton lore that’s being hinted and I am here for it!

I have so many theories floating around in my head rn.

One of which is the “Mokuton isn’t a Kekkei Genkai” which the idea that the Mokuton is kind of alive in of itself.

Kind of comparable to the Bijuu I guess in that it’s a literal force of nature, but unlike the Bijuu it doesn’t exactly have a consciousness and just kind of exists as a force until it find a host strong enough to ensure it’s power and that it’s host has to be careful lest the Mokuton take over its body.

It’s also a really old force, older than the Shinobi world I think. I dunno I always liked the idea that the Mokuton was like the first expression of Chakra on that world and like a bunch other stuff regarding the origin of Chakra and Sage mode and all that. Especially since tha canonical origin has something to do with a tree and a magic fruit, I think I’m somewhat justified linking it to Mokuton.

Anyways it’s a totally wild theory with very little basis beyond the “I just think it’d be neat” factor and I’m getting kinda rambly.

It’s weird. I don’t mind bucktaylor as a concept. I get it on some levels. But not with what they’re giving us with buddie in the background. Like they didn’t have to go that hard, but they did, and now I’m like buck and Taylor seem way out of place. I felt like they were gonna go in that direction. Not because it made the most sense narratively but because I don’t think they’ll make buddie canon. Or well if they have thought about, it ain’t happening anytime soon lol. And in interviews it shows eddies doubts, the creator also talked about buck and Taylor and how he brought them together, separated than brought back together and then compared it to tarlos in that wat 🙃 boi in what world 😂😂 she apparently is gonna be a part of next season. I love her and character but I really am like couldn’t they have just stayed friends 😭 I didn’t need buddie but like this is just not the vibe for me personally lol. Side note, I am happy that the creator said that Maddie’s ppd will be a big part of s5 and while heartbreaking, it’ll probably be amazingly painful to see

i think i might agree with you! like, maybe if they'd given taylor and buck a few more episodes of development i wouldn't have minded it as much, but the combination of a couple of episodes that felt like a speed-run (thanks in no small part to the shortened season, i'm sure) and the amount of scenes they kept giving buck and eddie and framing as big and romantic?? it's tough out here really

also, connecting their storyline to carlos and tk which -- listen, i love carlos with all my heart and he deserves to be happy so if that's tk okay -- but it's literally one of the most criticized storylines on the show for basically being a -- you guessed it!! -- speedrun. and they're both main characters! they had a chance and potential for a big slow burn!! like sir. what are you doing here

i do think station 19 (yes, that other firefighter show) did this really well with jack and andy -- they were together, then they weren't, then they hooked up casually, and then they found their own romantic interests and managed to stay friends. like, that shit's so good. i LIVE for it. i live for their friendship, too, because we've seen them through different iterations. it could have been so fucking good to see that on 911, for sure, but, you know, minear's really all about that low-hanging fruit fjadsklfj

though yes, i'm also happy to hear maddie's ppd is going to get a proper storyline next season!!! now if he could do the same for eddie's recovery arc -- it's RIGHT THERE, dude. like. reach out -- they're both based on trauma and mental health, you have so much potential to make both of these storylines overlap, make it the overarching theme of the season, IT'S STARING YOU RIGHT IN THE FACE, MINEAR
