Um, for OoT I know you talked a lot about Kou, the Ultimate Uchiha Genjutsu Mistress.
However I am curious as to how her skills would fare against Itachi, since he’s probably the most skilled Genjutsu user in all of Naruto Canon.
In terms of just straight up Genjutsu skill. and also total combat ability combined with Genjutsu.
Cuz for me Itachi always seemed reliant on his Genjutsu in combat, so if he faced someone who is immune/ very good at dismantling his Genjutsu, Madara I can see him struggling a bit.
Not to mention that he is more powerful than the terrors and uh well I assume they do meet at some point.
Maybe.
Hopefully.
Ok I low key want them to meet
Because well, the angst
Not to mention Itachi probably grew up learning about Madara and being compared to him in terms of skill and talent.
So seeing a young version of the ghost that shadowed his childhood.
Whose legacy led to his Clans death and destruction.
Yikes
And for Madara, meeting the Clan Killer.
The potential
You will not guess my specific plotpoints (yet) you will not! 😂😂💖
Anyway, on the topic, I can promise there will be a meeting between Madara and Itachi...even in the next arc, perhaps 😉
As for the topic of genjutsu and our resident Uchihas, Itachi is leagues and bounds above Madara. Madara, through Kou's guidance, is good at genjutsu, but it is not his specialty by any means, esp not as he is now. Out of everyone who could currently face Itachi, he'd probably be the best one equipped to handle it, but Madara's tactic would be to break the genjutsu and fight him through other means. He would lose a direct genjutsu fight, and overall it'd be an extremely difficult fight. That said (and I swear there is actual justification for this that'll come up at the end of the chunin arc) if Kou were still alive...Itachi would lose to her in a genjutsu fight every time. In OoT's lore, there is a reason Kou is so over-powered in this area. To beat her at genjutsu, you'd need some (quite literal) divine intervention.

OMG the latest OoT chapter, Squeeeee! I can mentally see Yamato's oh shit expression as he realizes that he forgot to tell the terrors how a paper test works.
Also, fair warning, ramble ahead.
I know you mentioned Ino and Sakura's rivalry will be something non-Sasuke related (thank goodness) and I was wondering if it had anything to do with the Civillian Clan Divide Sakura talked about.
Seeing as they were best friends growing up and Sakura being bullied before becoming friends with Ino it would make sense if Ino was protective over Sakura. Especially since she was the Clan heir, she would feel like she was responsible for protecting her friends with "less power" than her. That could end up manifesting as her not wanting Sakura to become a Kunoichi at risk of her getting hurt or worse, killed.
Sakura on the other would probably feel stifled and second-best next to Ino, a clan heir and skilled ninja, and desperate to prove herself. That would probably manifest as a deep desire to prove herself as a strong Kunoichi, directly opposing what Ino would want for her.
Thus their rivalry would begin, with Sakura wanting to prove that she doesn't need Ino or a clan to be strong and Ino being frustrated that Sakura didn't trust her to protect her and worry that Sakura is going to get herself hurt or killed.
OoT Spoilers
Tumblr media
I really have nothing else to say 😂 I'm glad the foreshadowing seems to be working! Had to go back and make sure I didn't actually post this, it's so spot on! 💖

Our of curiosity, how impactful will the summons be to the plot of Oot?
Since so far it’s kind of a side plot, but with the looming threat of Kitsune showing up that’ll be fun to see and is bound to be very impactful.
It’ll also be a cool path to take post-chunin exams. Since the terrors would be so wary and untrusting if Konoha, not to mention worried about the Akatsuki it would be cool if they ended up going to the summons realm “not sure if they’d let Hashirama in tho”
Maybe Madara could even find the Falcons and get some more insight and clarity from them, since they’ve seen what happened with the founding of Konoha and Madara’s fall from grace.
Also, I just realized that if/when they face off Orochimaru in the forest they’ll end up meeting Manda (I think he’s a first not sure) and that’ll be fun.
I love your theories! They're always so thoughtful! Below is I'd say medium-level spoilers, not specific points but talking broadly about the projection of OoT plot-wise.
So you have it almost exactly right! The only difference is, in this AU because of reasons that will come up relatively soon (for me), the final arc of Part 1: Sasuke Recovery Mission cannot happen as it did in canon. You'll know exactly why when we get there lol, it won't be subtle. I thought about ending Part 1 at the end of Search for Tsunade but that still felt a little soon and I had a few ideas I wanted to wrap up before 1. a timeskip or 2. the terrors going back to the past and then a timeskip so that led to the creation of an og content arc! IE Kitsune. I'm still spitballing names but I like "Shadow of the Fox" because the arc is about Kitsune and [redacted]. The terrors will focus on Kitsune but you, as an audience, will be screaming about [redacted] I'm pretty sure 😉
So I'm setting the stage for that now lol. Kitsune won't be mentioned too much more in the chunin arc (though she does get a sort of cameo in an interesting way 😉) she'll be lingering over the search arc and then it'll be her time to shine. I didn't want to blindside readers though by having her come out of nowhere like 'hey we just got Tsunade back to the village and btw Mikuzume's scary Grandma is here! Have I mentioned she's super strong and scary?'
As for the other points, I still want to get the falcons involved in some way, still thinking about the specifics of that though. And as much as the summons love Madara, they will absolutely refuse to let Hashirama into their homes. Not even Kitsune or the falcons would make an exception, not even for him. (I feel bad saying 'it'll come up eventually' but I promise Hashirama's thing with the summons will, the specifics will be hinted at but the true reveal and full story is more end-game lore so that one will take a while just FYI)
I won't say anything about Manda being a First or not but ohh the terrors do meet him in the Forest of Death. I can promise that!

"My last big ‘spoiler but not a spoiler’ (for now) is this: Sasuke isn’t the only one who gets a curse mark in the Orochimaru fight 😉"
me:👀
A part of me wants to say Madara, but I feel like have both Sharingan user's bitten is . . . I dunno a bit more expected, + out of all of them Madara is supposed to be the fastest.
Hashirama on the other hand. . well you did mention that the Chunin arc would really showcase his power. The curse mark is suppose to enhance the user's power and make them more mentally unstable.
P.S sorry about the unfinished ask earlier
😉😉😉

Ok so uh I just wanna start of by saying.
CALLED IT!
TWICE! kind of
Hashirama getting bit and Manda being a first.
But holy crap there’s so much Mokuton lore that’s being hinted and I am here for it!
I have so many theories floating around in my head rn.
One of which is the “Mokuton isn’t a Kekkei Genkai” which the idea that the Mokuton is kind of alive in of itself.
Kind of comparable to the Bijuu I guess in that it’s a literal force of nature, but unlike the Bijuu it doesn’t exactly have a consciousness and just kind of exists as a force until it find a host strong enough to ensure it’s power and that it’s host has to be careful lest the Mokuton take over its body.
It’s also a really old force, older than the Shinobi world I think. I dunno I always liked the idea that the Mokuton was like the first expression of Chakra on that world and like a bunch other stuff regarding the origin of Chakra and Sage mode and all that. Especially since tha canonical origin has something to do with a tree and a magic fruit, I think I’m somewhat justified linking it to Mokuton.
Anyways it’s a totally wild theory with very little basis beyond the “I just think it’d be neat” factor and I’m getting kinda rambly.
It’s an amazing chapter as always and I’m excited to read what you have in store!
Yes you did 😂 Jury's still out on the Manda/Hebi situation for now, but you 100% guessed Hashirama got bit.
I'm...uh...gonna plead the 5th for the rest of that. Though with your current track record...😉
