Did you know that attention to detail and appreciation of aesthetics are apparently cornerstones of Japanese culture? If you have ever wanted to experience the islands of Japan, then consider the country’s popular floating hotel: Guntû. This 19-room boutique vessel is a cross between a ryokan (a type of Japanese guest house) and a luxury yacht. The entire hotel boasts of wooden interiors with a minimalistic design. Each cabin features warm wood-paneling with floor-to-ceiling windows and is adorned with simple hand-crafted furniture. Famed Tokyo-based architect, Yasube Horibe, had the vision of warmth and welcome when designing Guntû. What do you feel looking at these photos of the floating hotel? Side note: Guntû is on TIME's 2019 list of the World's 100 Greatest Places. . . . . @guntu_floating_hotel @horibeaa @time #hotelstyle #hotels #interiordesign #hotelsindesign #hoteldesigner #hoteldesign #travel #hospitalitydesign #hotelspaces #hotel #hotelinteriors #boutiquehotel #boutiquedesign #floatinghotel #luxurytravel #yacht #Guntu #guntû (at Seto Inland Sea) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1xllYVF2_v/?igshid=1argigkw4h35a
