I downloaded CCleaner at the recommendation of an IT friend. I believe u know what ur talking abt but why is it bad
Short answer:
While running a registry cleaner is useless at best, it's dangerous at worst. As mentioned, the registry is home to lots of important values that both Windows and third-party programs use. If you delete, move, or damage these keys, critical system functions could fail to work.
Since registry cleaners are automated, there's a good chance that their registry scan could tag something as unnecessary when it's actually important. And unless you're a registry expert and check every entry before deleting them, you could cause major damage to your system by deleting something inadvertently.
Basically it's extremely unlikely that registry entries are going to cause problems simply by having a lot of them but it's extremely likely that registry entries are going to cause problems if they're messed with without a lot of really careful attention.
Your computer is a really, really, really smart machine and even with tens of thousands of entries your registry isn't a challenge for the computer to read or access*, but it is a challenge for YOU to read or access. So what registry cleaners have done over the years is marketed themselves as a way to "clean up" your registry and make things faster which doesn't actually make any sense in terms of how the computer works but makes *intuitive* sense to a human looking at a big confusing registry full of entries and extensions that you don't understand.
You shouldn't mess around with your registry unless you are very certain you know what you're doing and have taken a good, complete backup of your computer very recently. You shouldn't trust third parties to mess around in your registry at all.
People tend to like the other tools offered by programs like CCleaner but those are pretty much just a middleman doing stuff that there are already tools built into the OS for. You don't need special software to clean up junk files or adjust what runs on startup, disk cleanup and task manager can do that without installing a third-party software on your computer.
And that is *aside* from the fact that CCleaner specifically has had some incidents of running malware and registry cleaners generally trying to get you to either click on ads or purchase upgrades.
*back in the beforetimes of the 90s registry entries did sometimes cause problems and Microsoft made its own registry cleaner, which went out of support in 1998 because it did kind of help with some stuff but created more problems than it resolved and also it became obsolete when computers started having more processing power and memory and the underlying software was improved. And here's a post that's nearly 20 years old discussing why registry cleaners aren't necessary and can cause problems.

Mike does what he does best, he builds a case. He finally has the time now. He handed the Carrillo back this morning, its’s been burning a hole in a cardboard poster tube Meredith had stored, in a cubby spot where the two of you used to hide your trinkets. To be fair where Meredith still hid some of her more expensive or sentimental jewellery.
He’d put some feelers out after dinner the other night. Meredith had told him about the conversation with Bruno in the kitchen. She’d been worried about you even then, before this thing with the compass and that made Mike worried. He knew the general story, the addict ex who’d put hands on you, he’d heard the downplayed version from you over a beer in the bar when that last case had hit too close to home. Meredith had told him the real version the morning after, whilst walking the dogs in the park. He knew she still had the photographs from that night, he’d found them in their OneDrive because the two of them shared a Microsoft Office account.
They were bad, worse than he had thought originally, red finger-marks transitioning into black bruising underneath your jawline. The back of your neck and your shoulders were the worst, deep lacerations that transected your skin, flesh knitted together with glue and stitches. You hadn’t just been slammed into that mirror, Russo had ground you against it, made sure the glass made it’s mark. He was glad that Bruno hadn’t seen these images, knowing it happened to someone you loved was bad enough. Seeing it created a visceral reaction, one that Mike could channel into something more useful. For all of his even temperedness he didn’t think Bruno would have the same restraint and he didn’t blame the other man.
Meredith, you and even Bruno were his familia, the rare people he had close to his heart and seeing those pictures made him want to hunt Russo down like a dog.
He thought about last night, about slipping out from behind the curtain, melding into the crowd before disappearing out of the service entrance like you’d suggested. He thought you were there with Sinclair, a man he knew, a man he trusted to have your back because he’d seen the evidence of it time and time again. If he had known, it was Russo…
He would have taken his chances with the FBI.
It killed him that he’d left you at the hands of a predator, he had seen the marks on your skin this afternoon when you’d snatched badge and holster off the coffee table. You’d worn a long-sleeved top, one of Meredith’s but Mike had a keen eye, he’s caught a glimpse as the sleeve rode up. Bruno had filled him on the rest. Mike was a practical man; he had no doubts about where this would have led if Russo hadn’t been interrupted. He’d been studying men with control issues his entire life, he knew how the story played out.
Which was why he was doing this for you, he considered it in his penance for not hauling you out of the lion’s den when he’d had a chance. You compartmentalised the same way he did, the same way Bruno did, it was a survival mechanism when you became a cop. However, he knew in the background your head was a mess, a flurry of thoughts and emotions you hadn’t even begun to process. You knew what you had to do because Russo would keep coming back again and again until he got what he wanted, however you also understood the ramifications of it. You were still trying to deal with the fallout you knew that was coming your way. You weren’t thinking practically, and Mike didn’t blame you, no one could expect you to.
Bruno was still percolating, he was probably one of the most emotionally balanced people Mike knew besides Meredith but he was experiencing this situation as a spouse. The fact that Russo had come into his territory and practically flaunted the assault in his face by throwing down that necklace it had to hurt like bitch. He tried not to show it, but it was in his actions, the fact he was currently outside in the yard, wrist deep in dirt, tearing weeds out of the vegetable garden with a violence that was more suited to the battlefield than to horticulture. Even when he was murderous Bruno was still channelling that energy into something positive. Mike was more of a scorched earth kind of guy, which was why he had dossier of Paul Russo’s entire life spread out across the table in front of him. Everything from his academic records to the entry into the police academy and the duration of his career, it was all laid out in front of him, alongside a cup of the Havana special brew he got imported.
He sees the echoes of Russo’s narcissism throughout his life, beginning with an overbearing father who was borderline abusive according the child services records and an over affectionate mother who made excuses for every single little infraction her son incurred.
Repeated transfer requests from partners throughout the duration of his career in the NYPD. Bouncing around departments because none ever seemed like the right fit. He lacked empathy with victims, enjoyed the power of the badge a little too much.
His romantic life was a revolving door of women, he dropped quickly because they were always ‘crazy’ or too clingy. He’d been shifted out of one precinct for fucking the wrong man’s wife. Mike knew how charming men like Russo could appear in the beginning, he didn’t blame you for ending up entangled especially with your background. Russo would have seen your desire for affection and played on it. From what he’d learned, you had been his longest relationship to date and Mike thought that was because the other man had viewed you as a challenge.
You’d been making your bones at that point, coming off a high profile case in Violent Crimes that had made big news around the Bronx. You were good looking, conscientious and the darling of your superiors. You must have seemed like the perfect trophy for his collection when your paths crossed.
That was what his was all about, owning you, possessing you. You weren’t even a person to this man. You were a thing, something to be adorned, showed off.
He thinks about what Ernie told him this morning over a game of chess, after he’d put the compass in to be repaired at the same jewellery shop where Bruno had bought it. Russo’s addiction had never really gone away, he’d been in deep to his dealer back then, paid it off in favours. Running licence plates, hiding evidence, tips when a raid was going down. He was in deep again now.
That story he’d told you about getting clean, it never happened. He’d been to rehab on the NYPD’s dime, claiming he had gotten hooked during an undercover stint in Narcotics, but it didn’t take. He hadn’t wanted to engage with the therapy sessions, group or one to one.
He doesn’t realise how much time goes by until Bono appears by his side a bottle of water clasped in his mouth. He places it carefully on Mike’s lap before stepping back and watching with those bright eyes of his.
“Thank you.” Mike murmured distractedly, his hand soothing over the top of the dog’s head. Bruno’s phone starts ringing on the charging dock and Mike glances at it irritably as it drags him from is work. He’s about to ignore it and then he sees the name lighting up the screen and he knows; he just fucking knows that this isn’t going to be good news.
“Sinclair, it’s Duarte.” He says as he snatches up the cellphone and hits the answer button. He’s already moving through the house towards the garden.
The moment he steps out onto the decking, Bruno picks up in the urgency of his motions, the expression on Mike’s face and he’s on his feet in an instant. Bono taps the palm of Mike’s hand twice, Mike knows, he knows that sudden spike of blood pressure is about to send him into a seizure, he can already feel it coming. He’s already sitting down on the decking by the time his vision starts to tunnel, he can’t even force the words out of his mouth to tell Bruno what the other man needs to know, what triggered it. The phone slips from his hand, tumbling onto the decking and bouncing on the wooden slats. Bruno’s already snatching up one of the cushions from the garden furniture and shoving it behind Mike. The echo of Sinclair’s words are ringing in his ears as Bruno guides him backwards onto the pillow, the world already slipping away.
“Shot…” Sinclair had said. “She’s been shot.”

Tech Illiteracy for Upcoming Generations
I believe ever since Windows 95, the tech industry on the consumer side has went down a path of simplifying things too much, and instead of it helping us understand how computers work, they've also harmed us. Win95 for example, for all the amazing things it did with innovating UI design, added one of the worst options that would be enabled by default in all future windows versions: "Hide file extensions of known types."
This is bad from both a educational and security perspective. It's an educational issue because people starting out with Windows won't know what a file extension is. File extensions are important because they tell you what a file is; a program, a text document, an image, etc. Yet Win95 just expects you to know what a file is just by it's name and the icon alone. Unfortunately some file types share the same icon, so that method isn't reliable. It can also be frustrating to a user who's trying to import something like a photo into a program and it doesn't import because it's not the correct file type, but because the user doesn't know what a file extension is and likely believes all images are the same, that user would just be confused and wouldn't know why they can't import that photo (feel sorry to any new user downloading a webp.) Moreover, hiding file extensions is bad from a security perspective because you can't tell when a file isn't actually what is seems to be. Your only clue is if the icon doesn't match, but that can easily be changed by a virus author. Many users who were expecting to view an image, video or document ended up getting a virus likely because they couldn't see file extension and realize that file didn't share the same extension as the user's other documents, and instead matches the one for a program. That would have given a clue to a new user that something's up.
Later from Win98 and on, Microsoft would add the "My X" series of folders to try and simplify things further. While not a bad idea on paper, I believe this screwed with some users by thinking everything needs to go into those folders and that you don't have to worry about creating your own folders. I'm sure many users just dropped stuff into those folders and didn't think much of it, not knowing how to organize or create folders. And most programs didn't appear in those folders, so users might not know how to navigate the file explorer outside of the "My Documents" folder, or learn that removing a shortcut doesn't actually remove the program that's associated with it (and that's despite the popup in Windows XP about deleting shortcuts, which just tells you the uninstall control panel setting and not where the program is located.) Sure some users might learn to make their own folders and to organize better, but I'm sure more stubborn people, especially old people, will never realize that and just have their sets of "My" folders be a mess. And not all the "My" folders were used correctly. My Documents isn't "My" Documents any more, as programs would later use it to store stuff like user information, options and plug-ins, making it's purpose more unclear. Nearly everyone's My Downloads folder is a mess after Chrome made it a standard to save everything there rather than ask the user where to save. Lastly the short lived My Games folder, which I'm pretty sure a majority of games didn't actually save anything in there other than a shortcut.
I don't think we really realized the damage this has caused until we reached the smartphone era, where phones just automatically save images, videos and downloads to their own folders, and the file browser is seen as an app to ignore and most people don't know how to use it. Ask any kid or teen if they know how to navigate through their phone's file explorer, and a majority of them will answer no. Simple tasks like transferring files via USB are becoming less and less known with file and music streaming services becoming the norm. Everyone is just letting their phones put files where it wants and aren't really thinking about it. And this might not be too bad of an issue if apps weren't too inconsistent on where to actually place everything. Your camera photos might not be in a folder named "Photos", and are instead in a folder named "DCIM" in the root directory. Your phone might update your camera app too can cause your photos to be saved in an entirely different folder too (that happened to me.) Saved images or ringtones might be in their own weird folders separated from each other even if they are just audio or image files, because that's how they programmed the app. This isn't even a new user issue, it's an issue for everyone because experienced computer users don't even get to choose where an app should save it's stuff. You might not think this is an issue if apps just work fine despite this, but what if your phone gets full and you wanna delete files. Well if it's not related to clearing out cache or deleting apps, you're fucked if you don't know how to navigate through the messy and bloated file browser. I also wonder how much processing power is wasted on the phone searching for these files rather than looking on one or two folders where everything should be.
I could go on and on, but I think I've said enough. Things have been simplified to much to where it no longer teaches people how to use something. "Just ignore, you'll be fine, you're not letting anything build up. Oh is something not working correctly, well then the program just sucks. There's no super easy conversion method that will make the file magically work with the program, it just sucks! Did you get a virus? Well that's not our fault, you should have purchased an anti-virus! What do you mean you thought it was a video?"
Ironically in an attempt to make computers more accessible, we're soon gonna get more people that don't know how folders work.

Exclusive: new database shows 1,500 US lobbyists working for fossil-fuel firms while representing universities and green groups
More than 1,500 lobbyists in the US are working on behalf of fossil-fuel companies while at the same time representing hundreds of liberal-run cities, universities, technology companies and environmental groups that say they are tackling the climate crisis, the Guardian can reveal.
Lobbyists for oil, gas and coal interests are also employed by a vast sweep of institutions, ranging from the city governments of Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia; tech giants such as Apple and Google; more than 150 universities; some of the country’s leading environmental groups – and even ski resorts seeing their snow melted by global heating.
The breadth of fossil fuel lobbyists’ work for other clients is captured in a new database of their lobbying interests which was published online on Wednesday.
It shows the reach of state-level fossil fuel lobbyists into almost every aspect of American life, spanning local governments, large corporations, cultural institutions such as museums and film festivals, and advocacy groups, grouping together clients with starkly contradictory aims.
For instance, State Farm, the insurance company that announced in May it would halt new homeowner policies in California due to the “catastrophic” risk of wildfires worsened by the climate crisis, employs lobbyists that also advocate for fossil fuel interests to lawmakers in 18 states.
Meanwhile, Baltimore, which is suing big oil firms for their role in causing climate-related damages, has shared a lobbyist with ExxonMobil, one of the named defendants in the case. Syracuse University, a pioneer in the fossil fuel divestment movement, has a lobbyist with 14 separate oil and gas clients.
“It’s incredible that this has gone under the radar for so long, as these lobbyists help the fossil fuel industry wield extraordinary power,” said James Browning, a former Common Cause lobbyist who put together the database for a new venture called F Minus. “Many of these cities and counties face severe costs from climate change and yet elected officials are selling their residents out. It’s extraordinary.
“The worst thing about hiring these lobbyists is that it legitimizes the fossil fuel industry,” Browning added. “They can cloak their radical agenda in respectability when their lobbyists also have clients in the arts, or city government, or with conservation groups. It normalizes something that is very dangerous.”
The searchable database, created by compiling the public disclosure records of lobbyists up to 2022 reveals:
Some of the most progressive-minded cities in the US employ fossil fuel lobbyists. Chicago shares a lobbyist with BP. Philadelphia’s lobbyist also works for the Koch Industries network. Los Angeles has a lobbyist contracted to the gas plant firm Tenaska. Even cities that are suing fossil fuel companies for climate damages, such as Baltimore, have fossil fuel-aligned lobbyists.
Environmental groups that push for action on climate change also, incongruously, use lobbyists employed by the fossil fuel industry. The Environmental Defense Fund shares lobbyists with ExxonMobil, Calpine and Duke Energy, all major gas producers. A lobbyist for the Natural Resources Defense Council Action Fund also works on behalf of the mining company BHP.
Large tech companies have repeatedly touted their climate credentials but many also use fossil fuel-aligned lobbyists. Amazon employs fossil fuel lobbyists in 27 states. Apple shares a lobbyist with the Koch network. Microsoft’s lobbyist also lobbies on behalf of Exxon. Google has a lobbyist who has seven different fossil fuel companies as clients.
More than 150 universities have ties to lobbyists who also push the interests of fossil fuel companies. These include colleges that have vowed to divest from fossil fuels under pressure from students concerned about the climate crisis, such as California State University, the University of Washington, Johns Hopkins University and Syracuse University. Scores of school districts, from Washington state to Florida, have lobbyists who also work for fossil fuel interests.
A constellation of cultural and recreational bodies also use fossil fuel lobbyists, despite in many cases calling for action on the climate crisis. The New Museum in New York City, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Sundance Film Institute in Utah all share lobbyists with fossil fuel interests, as does the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Florida Aquarium. Even top ski resorts such as Jackson Hole and Vail, which face the prospect of dwindling snow on slopes due to rising temperatures, use fossil fuel lobbyists.
Cities, companies, universities and green groups that use fossil fuel-linked lobbyists said this work didn’t conflict with their own climate goals and in some cases was even beneficial. “It is common for lobbyists to work for a variety of clients,” said a spokesperson for the University of Washington.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art said it had retained a lobbyist on the F Minus database “for a period during the pandemic … We are not currently working with the company.”

Addressing Potential Controversy [Into the Ocean Arc]
//Sup!
//Hey. it’s me, the mod, coming at you with just a couple of things that I need to talk about in relation to the next arc of the story in Danganronpa Survivor, because for those in the know, and who have figured out a synopsis for the next arc based on my hints, I imagine there are one or two people who are either confused, or possibly even upset, at what’s coming.
//And I will reinforce now that no one has actually called me out on it, at least not maliciously, so don’t go thinking that I’m being attacked. I know a vast majority of you guys are highly above that, and if you aren’t, then you don’t deserve to be here.
//But I want to take the time to do two things. Firstly, address my line of thinking, and secondly, enlighten the people who aren’t in the know and are confused as to what I want to talk about.
//That said, I will be posting the majority of this rant underneath the cut, because it contains some spoilers for the ensuing story of the next arc. Nothing major, but even so, if you want to go in completely blind, then don’t click Read More.
//But if you are curious, then keep reading.
Tumblr media
//I see you’ve decided to continue. Alright, let’s do this.
//First of all, a basic synopsis of this arc is that it picks up shortly after the previous one, which we have just finished. More specifically, after the events of “The Melancholy Of Nagito Komaeda” three weeks have passed in-universe time.
//We transition from the escapades of Hajime and the gang, over to Washington DC, Capital City of the USA, where Makoto, Kyoko, Byakuya, Yasuhiro, Hina and Kuripa are all living together in a moving camper vehicle bought by Kyoko, with the intention of hiding away so that Zetsubou do not find them. This has all been established previously.
//But during the story events of the arc, the Future Foundation meet a rag tag band of societal rebels, and due to certain circumstances, end up forming a pact with them. With a lot on the line for both groups, they work together to overthrow one of the state’s biggest financial conglomerate’s.
//This group of rebels call themselves the Freedom Foundation, but really, they aren’t so much a “foundation” as they are just a band, and they are the highlight of this arc, and the reason why I make this post in the first place. The reason? Because the characters are from THIS game...
Tumblr media
//The full title of this game is “Hyper! Danganronpa H2O - Abandon All Hope.” This is an English Danganronpa fangame created by a person named Milkpunches. It is known for being the first complete English Danganronpa fangame, and was based in a RP group the developer was part of.
//Originally it was downloadable on Microsoft Windows, and ran on the Official Hamster Republic Role Playing Game Construction Engine, abbreviated as OHRRPGCE or OHR. Unfortunately, the game is no longer available to be downloaded, so all that remains of it are a few gameplays left on YouTube.
//If you want to check the story for yourself, I recommend doing so through a Let’s Play by USAviator. He has some of the funnier takes on the game and covers basically everything there is to cover.
//So the bottom line is that the characters from Hyper H2O are going to be in Survivor. In fact, the arcs name, “Into the Ocean” is in direct reference to it. Not all of them mind you, just a few. And you may be wondering why it is that I need to sort of address this as a result of potential controversy. Well, I’ll tell you.
//Hyper H2O is widely considered to be one of the worst Danganronpa fangames in history, and for those who know of it, one of the worst video game fangames IN GENERAL. And there are an assortment of reasons why. One of the greatest takes of the game I’ve seen is by a Reddit user named u/DragonFirePie, who played through the whole fangame and I will post their review here to get a better idea: https://www.reddit.com/r/danganronpa/comments/d5qvdo/hyper_danganronpa_h2o_an_awful_fangame_made_by_an/
//If you’re not up for all that deep reading though, I will quickly summarize some of the key points. For starters, there’s the characters, and the biggest issue most people seem to have with them is that amongst the typical 16 students that the game throws at you, every single one of them has only one of two types of personality right from the get go. Either they are overly and annoyingly nice and friendly, or they are overly and annoyingly rude and detestable.
//The “glaring” exception, is a character named Caeser...who has no personality.
//That doesn’t necessarily mean that every character is the exact same, and there is enough to differentiate them, but even so, there’s a severe line when there are characters who are nice and friendly to the point where it’s annoying, and characters that shit on you for LITERALLY no reason. Seriously, a selection of the cast just take one look at the protagonist, Maya, decide she is annoying, and call her out on it, when they DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER.
//Speaking of Maya, she’s another problem. Personally speaking, I like a fair share of her dialogue. As a character, she’s much like Hajime, in that she has his bluntness and isn’t afraid to call people out on their BS, but imagine that, an amp it up to 11. It’s interesting, funny, and she IS a step away from a typical protagonist character, but it does somewhat come at the cost of likeability.
//Take for example, a character like Kuripa. One of the things that makes Kuripa so controversial is that he can be an enjoyable source of entertainment at one point, and a detestable cretin at another, due to his trait of constantly changing personalities and opinions based on the situation. He’s problematic, but he CAN be nice and welcoming when the time calls for it, so he is redeemable. Imagine if Kuripa at his ABSOLUTE WORST was a protagonist for a full game, and you’ve got Maya Canzanilla, the protagonist of H2O.
//The SECOND issue with the game is it’s gameplay, but that mainly has to do with it’s engine. As mentioned previously, Hyper H2O is made in OHRRPGCE; open-source, "All-in-one" game creation system. It was designed to allow the quick creation of 2D role-playing video games, and as an engine, is used to make basic games swiftly and easily.
//Which, in short, makes it a bad engine to create a Danganronpa fangame on, since it mainly constitutes to RPG’s and platformers. It could just be the case that there were limited options at the time of creation, so I can’t hold the logistics against the game, but as a result of using OHR, the class trial minigames are easy, and the mysteries are relatively easy to figure out. It just doesn’t have the same sense of fun or entertainment as an actual Danganronpa Class Trial, and that’s where the game falls super flat in terms of gameplay.
//And one last thing I will mention is the main issue a lot of people have with the game is in regards to it’s creator, Milkpunches. Now, I will be careful with what I say here, because this post is a critique of the game, and not done as a slight against the creator. I hold no spite against Milkpunches, and even if I did, I wouldn’t brazenly slag them off like this.
//I firmly believe that just because a content creator/author/person who made something is bad, that doesn’t mean the thing they made is ALSO bad. The best example I can think of is J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter. I’ve loved Harry Potter for years, and just because the author is acting disagreeable in recent times, doesn’t mean I’m immediately going to start disliking Harry Potter. I can enjoy something without giving two shits about who made it.
//The only reason I’m even talking about the creator is because they are one of the primary issues, and I do have a MAJOR problem with them in one regard. Namely, Hyper Danganronpa H2O wasn’t created simply to be an enjoyable fangame, but to spread Social Justice Warrior propaganda.
//Every character in H2O has a sexual alignment, gender identity or otherwise that isn’t completely straight. And that’s fine and all; I will stand for pride, now and forever, and I’m by no means opposed to a cast of a game that’s entirely made of trans or nonbinary or gay/lesbian characters; but what I DON’T like is that the entire game’s premise REVOLVES around this. It’s less like a Danganronpa that features LGBTQ+ characters, and more like an LGBTQ+ plotline and coming-out story that just so happens to be in a Killing Game.
//And it makes me wonder...what’s even the point?
//SJW’s are quite possibly some of the most detestable people that exist in the universe, and in the case of Milkpunches, the biggest problem people seem to have is that they respond very harshly to criticism. Regardless of whether it’s malicious or constructive. Again, like I said, I’m not making this post to slight the creator. I’m merely bringing it up in the case of it being a primary problem for the vast majority of fans.
//So that’s a basic breakdown of why Hyper Danganronpa H2O is “bad.” After all this, you may be wondering why it is that I want to put this very controversial game in my series. Well, there’s a reason, and it’s not simply because I like the game, because I don’t know if “like” is exactly the right word.
//Simply put, Hyper Danganronpa H2O is what I like to call the Sonic 06 of Danganronpa games. By that I mean that in terms of both gameplay, and aspects of development, it is rather terrible...but it CAN be fixed.
//I personally believe that if certain decisions had been made differently, Sonic 06 could have been a masterpiece, but as a result of poor decisions in development, writing and gameplay, it ended up being one of the most notoriously bad video games in history. Which is why I’m so grateful that Project 06 is being made, because even though 06 still has problems with it’s story, P-06 is working to better the gameplay and graphics.
//And that’s also how I believe it is with H2O, and what I intend to do with the characters present in Survivor. And if anyone’s going to try to call me out on “Oh, you can’t just take matters into your own hands” or “rewrite characters to better suit your own tastes” I hope you’re aware that I’ve DONE THAT BEFORE.
//Specifically, with the characters in the blog that are from V2: New World Order, Blowback and Rebirth/RebirthVoices. No character from those two projects are exactly like their characters from the original projects, and I take liberties and change them where I can.
//For example, in RebirthVoices, Narumi Osone and Akira Tsuchiya are a duo of Mastermind’s, but they aren’t nearly as close as they are in Survivor. RebirthVoices influenced their relationship, as well as Akira’s love for Despair and Narumi’s love for Hope, but little more than that. The original Narumi Osone wasn’t a battle hungry ball of homicide, so much as she was a bratty little kid like Hiyoko.
//Additionally, the Blowback Characters have this as well. Barely any of them, save for a few like Mikihiko, have the same talents and capabilities they did the original game. For example, Yosaku Fujita in Survivor is a greedy cabaret manager, who turns around and sees the light after he loses his place in society. In Blowback, he is a chubby, laid back music composer, who means nobody any harm. His character is COMPLETELY different. So for anyone who wants to complain that I changed the characters...you missed your chance long ago.
//What I intend to do with the Hyper H2O characters is a mix of what I do with the Rebirth characters, as well as the Another 2 characters, which basically means that I’m going to take liberties and change up a few things, but I’m going to keep things mostly the same, including each characters individual history. Not like what I do with Misuzu for example, where she is a Shrine Maiden in Rebirth, but a hostess, and Misaku Rokuhana’s daughter in Survivor. It’s not going to be the same case, for example, Maya is still a barista, and the events that happened in her life before now STILL happened. Same goes for the rest.
//And there are a few things about H2O that I genuinely like and see potential in. The main one being the dialogue. Many people may disagree, but despite H2O’s problematic storytelling, the dialogue is amazing, and unfortunately I can’t pick a good example because there’s a lot to choose from. It’s also chock full of clever and funny references to classical media, and it feels ORIGINAL.
//Secondly, for pixelated sprites made in an undesirable engine, the style and character designs aren’t bad. They don’t necessarily befit each person’s individual talents, but they don’t really NEED to. Think of something like the cast of Danganronpa 1, where they have certain aspects of their designs that give away their talents, but nothing really that major to the point where they’re easily guessable.
//And also, despite what I said about the severe limitations the OHR, the game still is able to retain the classic Danganronpa UI, in it’s own unique way.
//The last point I will make is in regards to something I heard about, but I’m not really certain of; but supposedly, Milkpunches is planning to remake the game with more playable characters, a new story, and new and better graphics and mechanics. If this is true, then it may be a sign that they are now acting upon the criticism they received, or are at least conscientiously aware that the game has a lot that’s left to be desired.
//That’s pretty much the summary, but I hope you’ll patiently await to see what I can do with these characters. Again, they’re not going to change much, unless it’s to fit the overall story of the arc. Personally, I think it’s interesting to see the same character handled by different writers, and I hope you’ll think the same with “Into the Ocean”
//If there are any more questions, I’m open to them, on the condition that they are genuine and mild as opposed to hostile, or hate-based.

"Friends,
It’s tempting to view the strike underway by Hollywood writers and actors against the studios as a war between wealthy Hollywood elites.
But that’s not at all the case. In fact, what’s happening now in Hollywood is a microcosm of what’s happening across America in the emerging digital economy — which is rapidly replacing the production of things with the production of digitized ideas.
The workers in this emerging economy are some of the worst paid and worst treated anywhere, while the top owners and managers are among the fattest cats outside Wall Street.
The biggest fights between capital and labor in the 21st century may look different from the struggles of the 20th century — which centered on whether, for example, full-time workers got better hourly pay and benefits, time-and-a-half for overtime, and reasonable working conditions — but they are in many ways the same, if not worse.
They don’t involve physical property. They are over digitized creative output. More specifically, how much of the value of what’s created goes to those who do the creating versus to those who manage those creations?
The entertainment corporations say they’re suffering because people are going to the movies less and cutting their TV cables to watch streaming videos.
But follow the money: Your entertainment dollars are actually going to the biggest corporations in America. These giants have gained huge bargaining power because they own the ways content is distributed and are mining consumer data to give them even more power and higher profits.
Consider: Stock gains this year have been concentrated among five giant digital firms: Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta. Their combined market capitalization is now over $8 trillion, a figure that exceeds the GDP of every country but the United States and China. They are cash rich. All but Amazon have a combined $200 billion net cash-to-debt balance.
As these giant corporations take over streaming video, video games, and media platforms, their top executives, largest contractors, and biggest investors are raking it in.
Netflix’s Reed Hastings got a 2022 compensation package worth $51.1 million, up 25 percent from the year before. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO got $39 million. Comcast’s CEO, $32 million. Paramount’s CEO, $32 million. Disney’s CEO, $24 million.
Amazon’s Bezos and Meta’s Zuckerberg are raking in more than all these executives combined.
Meanwhile, the people who create the content are getting shafted. They have less and less bargaining power.
I’m talking about writers, designers, artists, musicians, software designers and developers, photographers, graphics specialists, coders, sound engineers, animators, singers, songwriters, architects, showrunners, journalists, and everyone who stores or delivers these creations.
And it’s just beginning. Artificial intelligence — right now, mostly via Google, Meta, and OpenAI — is busy scraping up every morsel of digital content on the internet. If you’re not Big Tech, your intellectual property is disappearing.
Over the last decade, the pay of TV writers has fallen by 23 percent. The typical actor has also been on a downward escalator (last year, averaging $26,276). So have the pay, benefits, and job security of most other content creators.
In other words, what’s happening in Hollywood is also happening in a huge and growing portion of the U.S. economy.
This gap between the declining rewards going to digital creators and the soaring rewards going to the executives of the giant corporations that manage digital creations has become a chasm, and it’s becoming ever larger.
The biggest variable in all this is the law — in particular, what limits it places on digital monopolies, and whether it facilitates or limits the power of creators.
In both these respects, the Biden administration has been terrific. It has been more aggressive against monopolists and in favor of unions than any administration since that of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
But much of the law is still in the 20th century, and the federal courts have tended to be on the side of the corporate giants.
Just look at the union busting Amazon has been able to get away with. Or how easily Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI have been lifting copyrighted material from the internet.
Meanwhile, the courts are reluctant to use antitrust to inhibit the giants. Last week a federal judge rejected the FTC’s attempt to stop Microsoft’s $70 billion acquisition of the video game maker Activision Blizzard, saying the agency failed to prove the deal would reduce competition and harm consumers. This followed the FTC’s loss in February, when a judge rejected its attempt to block Meta from buying the virtual reality startup Within.
As Hollywood’s content creators go on strike, and as the FTC goes after Microsoft and Meta, bear in mind this huge and growing imbalance of power. If unchecked, it will soon comprise much of the American economy.
What are your thoughts?" Robert Reich

FT Tech News 10: Twitter new paid plan| Wikipedia banned | World’s biggest wind turbine | Google investment in AI startup | YouTube introduces a new live sharing function | WhatsApp new features
Tumblr media
Welcome to our tech news series.

Twitter to charge $100 per month for its API use
There was a time when Twitter and its services used to be free for all. Also, it was among the best social media platform. All big announcements and decisions by big companies, authorities, and personalities were shared on it. They still are but it is not the same. Ever since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, he has done nothing but made the experience of users the worst through his crazy ideas. First, he launched a subscription named Blue Subscription which charged $8 per month to users who wanted extra features and the blue tick. Now he has announced that Twitter will charge $100 per month for using its API. Before you panic, this charge is not for you or the general users. It is for the developers. So people relax. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1621259936524300289 You must be wondering what is Twitter API and why it is being charged so expensive. Twitter API is a tool that third-party developers use to collect data from the Twitter application and use it to create new services and features.  Talon, Flamingo, Tweetings, Tweetbot, and Fenix are some third-party Twitter apps. You can use these apps instead of the official Twitter app because these apps provide extra features and functions. Twitter has strong data and developers can access these data from Twitter through its API. That is why Twitter is charging the developers now for sharing its data which is $100 per month.
China is building the world’s biggest wind turbine
Tumblr media
China is building a wind turbine that will be the largest wind turbine ever made. It is said that it will be 70-story tall in terms of height. This wind turbine is being made by MingYang Smart Energy, the largest private wind turbine manufacturer in China. The name of this turbine is MySE 18.X-28X. According to New Atlas, the swept area of this turbine will be more than 66,000 square meters. It also can be said that a single turbine blade cuts through an area of sky the length of nine football fields. This turbine is being made in the middle of the ocean and will be strong enough to deal with all the ocean conditions like typhoons. It will provide enough electricity to almost 100,000 people every year. MingYang in a Linkedin post shared that this will increase the output as well as reduce the cost of installation of many other small wind turbines. Also, China is the biggest polluting country so wind turbine is a much-needed option for electricity generation.
Pakistan bans Wikipedia
Pakistan banned Wikipedia. Why is Wikipedia being blacklisted in Pakistan? According to Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, Wikipedia consists of “blasphemous” content. For those who don’t know what blasphemous is then blasphemous content means offensive acts or statements on Gods and sacred things. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority asked Wikipedia to remove or edit these contents which are supposed to be against their religion and god and its practices. They also gave a 48-hour ultimatum to Wikipedia to remove all the objectionable content. Wikipedia did not agree and Pakistan blocked its citizens from using the world's largest digital encyclopedia. This is not the first time Pakistan has done something like this. Facebook, Youtube, and Tiktok are already banned in Pakistan.
Google investment in AI startup
After Microsoft's investment in ChatGPT, Google joined a new startup that works on AI. Google invested nearly $400 million in an AI startup named Anthropic which is said to be developing a ChatGPT rival. Google has not gone with creating a new project on AI simply because it is time-consuming and it is a race with Microsoft. Microsoft has also done the same and invested in a startup. This is a smart strategy. This way Google will save a lot of time, money, and resources, and partnering will increase the brains working on the project.
YouTube's new feature on live sharing
YouTube has launched a new feature related to live option. We already know how the live option works but this new sharing feature allows the creators to go live side by side with other youtube creators. It is more like having a video call. https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1621217017817698307 It was launched in November 2022 but was made available to only a few as a part of the beta program. Now YouTube is rolling this feature to everyone making it available to all users. Before you open YouTube and try this feature out, there is one little condition. You must have at least 50 subscribers if you want to go live and add a creator to your Livestream. The person whom you are adding does not need to meet this requirement. So he can be anyone with any number of subscribers. Talking about this feature’s availability, it can be used on both android and iOS. You must update the YouTube app to its latest version to use this feature. It is disappointing that this feature is not available for desktop users yet. In the future, it will be surely available but for now, the development is in progress.
WhatsApp new features
WhatsApp has added 5 new features related to status/story. We already have given you information about WhatsApp voice notes that it is coming soon to all the users. Now the time has come. The voice notes feature is live now. That means along with uploading photos and videos to your WhatsApp story, now there is an option for voice notes. You can record your voice message and upload it directly to the story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
People can hear your voice status and also there is a new feature WhatsApp added. The emoji reaction feature. Now people can react to your WhatsApp status with emojis right on the status page just like Facebook stories. This is not it. WhatsApp added another feature to identify the profiles who updated their stories. From now on, a ring will appear on their profile whenever they update their stories. Another feature that has been added is the link preview. When you put a link in your WhatsApp story, a preview of the link will automatically generate for everyone. So whenever anyone sees the link in your story then he/she will see the link preview and will be able to know what is inside the link. The fifth feature is that WhatsApp has added a privacy feature. Under this, you can now choose whom to show your status. This is a big relief for those who do not want to show certain people their stories. Read the full article

A New Area of A.I. Booms, Even Amid the Tech Gloom
Tumblr media
Just five weeks ago OpenAI the San Francisco artificial intelligence laboratory, launched ChatGPT, a chatbot that can answer questions in concise, clear prose. The A.I.-powered software immediately created an uproar with over 1 million people making use of it to write everything including high-school term paper papers, poetry, to remakes from Queen songs. Presently OpenAI is in the middle of an exciting gold rush. The lab is currently in talks to sign a contract that could value the company at about $29 billion. This is more than double its worth at the time of 2021's announcement, individuals who are aware of the talks told. The proposed deal could see OpenAI would offer existing shares of the company as a tender offer that could amount to $300 million, contingent on the number of employees who agree to sell their shares according to the sources. The company is also engaged in talks with Microsoft -who has invested $1 billion in it in the year 2019 -- to raise additional money, two sources confirmed. The excitement surrounding OpenAI is proof that, despite the worst technological downturn in the past generation Silicon Valley's bargain-making engine still in operation. After a down year which saw huge reductions in staff and layoffs technology investorstypically optimistic will be eager to take advantage of a hot trend. Nothing has generated more excitement than Artificial Intelligence that is generative, which is the term used to describe technology that creates texts, images, sounds and other forms of media in response to short instructions. Journalists, investors and pundits have been talking about artificial intelligence for a long time however, the latest trend -- the result of more than 10 years of researchis a stronger and advanced breed of A.I. This kind of A.I. promises to revolutionize all things starting from web-based search engines such as Google and Yahoo! editors for graphics and photos such as Photoshop and even digital assistants such as Alexa or Siri. It could ultimately offer a brand new method of communicating with all software, allowing people to chat with computers as well as other devices like they were talking to an individual. The result has sent the process of negotiating deals with the generative A.I. companies into hyperdrive. Jasper is a dynamic A.I. company founded in 2021, has raised $125 million since October, and valued it at $1.5 billion. Stability AI is an image-generating company that was founded in 2020, was able to raise $101 million the same month, and valued its value at $1 billion. Smaller generative A.I. companies, such as Character.AI, Replika and You.com are also being flooded by investor interest. By 2022, investors invested at minimum $1.37 billion into innovative A.I. companies in 78 deals, close to the amount they did in the prior five years according to figures from PitchBook which monitors the financial activities across the sector. The valuation of OpenAI's $29 billion was previously revealed in The Wall Street Journal. The venture capitalists Thrive Capital as well as Founders Fund may buy shares in the tender offer, two sources have said. Since OpenAI was founded as a non-profit company, determining its exact value is a challenge. OpenAI, Thrive Capital and Founders Fund did not provide any comments regarding the proposed investment. Companies have been developing intelligent A.I. over the years including tech giants like Google and Meta and also new companies like OpenAI. However, the technology didn't get the attention of the public until this spring when OpenAI introduced a new system known as DALL-E which allowed people to create realistic photos by simply telling the things they would like to observe. The result was that entrepreneurs were able to dive into the water with fresh ideas and investors to issue sweeping declarations of disruptive. Their enthusiasm grew to new heights in December when OpenAI announced ChatGPT and saw fans rely the technology to create Love letters, business proposals and more. The Rise of OpenAI The San Francisco company is one of the most innovative artificial intelligence research labs. Here's a look at recent developments. "It's the new 'mobile' kind of paradigm shift that we've been all waiting for," Niko Bonatsos an investor in the firm that invests in venture capital General Catalyst, said. "Maybe bigger, too." Analysts from Sequoia Capital wrote that Generative A.I. could have "the potential to generate trillions of dollars of economic value." And Lonne Jaffe who is an shareholder in Insight Partners, stated, "There is definitely an element to this that feels like the early launch of the internet." Google, Meta and other tech giants have been slow to make available generative technology to the general public due to the fact that they often create harmful content, such as false information and hate speech as well as images that favor women and other people of color. However, smaller, more recent companies such as OpenAI which are less worried about protecting a brand's reputation and more willing to let the technology available to the public. The strategies used to build the generative A.I. are well-known and readily available in academic research papers as well as open-source software. Google and OpenAI have advantages due to their massive pockets of computing power. These constitute the basis of the technology. However, a number of prominent researchers of Google, OpenAI and other prominent A.I. labs have gone independently in recent times to find fresh start-ups in this field. They have been able to secure some of the biggest round of funding as well as the excitement over ChatGPT and DALL-E causing venture capital firms to invest more in young businesses. Over 450 startups are currently developing the development of generative A.I., by the count of one venture capital firm. This frenzied pace is amplified by the investor desire to discover the next breakthrough in a depressing climate. Michael Dempsey, an investor at the venture firm Compound said the economic downturn in the tech sector that took place was last year marked by the crash of crypto, poorly performance stocks, and layoffs in several companies -- caused an unease among investors. After that "everyone got excited about A.I.," he added. "People need something to tell their investors or themselves, honestly, that there is a next thing to be excited about." There are some who worry that the hype surrounding Generative A.I. has been pushed to the edge of the reality. This technology has raised some thorny ethical issues about the way that the generative A.I. might affect copyrights and whether companies are required to gain permission to access the data used to develop their algorithms. Others think that large tech firms such as Google are likely to quickly outsmart new startups, and that some of the startups are not competitive. "There are lots of teams without A.I. expertise that are pitching their businesses as A.I. businesses," Mr. Dempsey stated. These concerns haven't stopped the excitement that has risen particularly since the introduction of Stability AI in October. The venture had helped finance an open source project that swiftly created a photo-generating system that functioned similar to DALL-E. The difference was that , while OpenAI shared DALL-E to a select group of users, Stability AI's open source version -called Stable Diffusion, could be utilized by any user. The tool was quickly utilized by users to create photo-realistic pictures of anything from medieval knights who cried in the rain, to Disneyland created by van Gogh. In the aftermath, Eugenia Kuyda, the founder and chief executive officer of Replika, a chat bot startup spoke in an interview she had been sought out via "every V.C. company within Silicon Valley," or more than 30 companies. She listened to their calls, but decided against further investment because her company was established in 2014 and is profitable. "I feel like the person who was a week early arriving at the airport for a flight -- and now the flight is boarding," she explained. Character.AI Another chat bot company, as well as You.com that is adding chat technologies to their online search engines, have received a flood of interest in the form of venture capitalists according to the companies. Sharif Shameem, an entrepreneur who created a searchable database for images produced through Stable Diffusion in August called Lexica the tool, claimed that it quickly surpassed one million users, an indication that he needs to shift from his previous startup and focus on Lexica. Within a matter of weeks, he had raised $5 million in funds in order to build the site. I am sure you are. Shameem compared the moment about the generative A.I. to the introduction of iPhone as well as mobile applications. "It feels like one of those rare opportunities," the man said. The Mr. Jaffe of Insight Ventures explained that the company has advised the companies in its portfolio to think about including intelligent A.I. technology into their product offerings. "It's hard to think of a company that couldn't use it in some way," he said. Radical Ventures, a venture company based in Toronto the city of Toronto, href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/21/technology/toronto-tech-boom.html" name ="">one among the world's centres of A.I. research, was established in the past five years specifically to make investments in this type of technology. The company recently announced a $550 million fund devoted exclusively to A.I., with more than half its funds in innovative A.I. companies. The bets are now looking better. "For four and a half years, people thought we were nuts," said Jordan Jacobs, a partner at Radical. "Now, for the past six months, they've thought we were geniuses." Read the full article

Metaverse 101: A beginner's course in the metaverse
youtube
As more and more people get involved, they are taking pleasure in the immersive experience of virtual reality. However, long gone are these days, when VR was just an AR. The metaverse is a new concept in town - The Metaverse is a mix of NFT, AR/VR web 3.0 and more with a potential to create virtual reality experiences we have never experienced before. The greatest part is that this isn't an idea that is just meant for playing video games. From communication, gaming shopping, to finance, Metaverse can redefine many sectors. Let's review what's Metaverse and what you need to know about it.
What is Metaverse?
The Metaverse can be identified as an imaginary, 3D online space that is focused in connecting users to their fellow users on a vast scale. The most obvious example is the internet that we are currently using. Just like the internet, the Metaverse brings together multiple platforms under an umbrella that makes things easy for its users. A well-established Metaverse can allow users to login to it and live a different life. Video games are an excellent illustration of virtual realities where gamers play how they suitable. With more and a greater number of people are trying to find new ways to escape their realities, possibilities of success for a Metaverse are high. Imagine if people's living conditions on planet were to deteriorate to the level where it becomes hard to indulge in anything. If that were the case an online space where people can get away and enjoy their lives without the realities of life will be much more beneficial. If you think about the direction that the world is headed, it's no stretch to imagine a one day that's similar to. Given the direction things are going, the possibility of several virtual worlds is more likely. metaverse real estate in the market such as Meta (or Facebook), Google, Microsoft, Nvidia and so on... have starting to design their own iteration of virtual worlds.
History of AR/VR
The concept of AR and VR is one that dates from the 1800s, when those first stereoscopes saw their first lights. In the years that followed, various ideas and prototypes emerged with the most striking one of them could be the "Ultimate Display" from Ivan Sutherland in the early 1960s. Many believe that this may be the model that set the stage for today's VR.
In the beginning of 2010, VR as well as AR technologies really began to spread their wings. In 2010 in 2010, the Oculus Rift VR headset launched and caused shock waves in the market. Following the release of Oculus, Sony and Samsung came out with their own versions this VR headset. In addition, Google Glass, a pair of AR glasses, went on sale at the same time. Pokemon Go was one of the games that used AR at its own advantage, and became a global phenomenon. The blockchain industry is getting in on the action by introducing Metaverses such as the Decentraland or the Sandbox. While the Metaverse appears alien, the idea of it has been a concept that many films have employed. One of the most effective examples of the aforementioned worst-case scenario is the movie Ready Player One. It showcases the full potential of this virtual world idea along with its ups and downs. That the company that is a social media giant that is now Facebook to Meta shows their interest in the Metaverse. Despite all this, we are still at the very beginning of realizing the full potential of AR and VR.
Unlimited possibilities are possible with the Metaverse
The possibilities of the possibility of a fully immersive Metaverse could be limitless. A lot of people have their own notion of what the term "Metaverse" is in reality, and there are intriguing opinions floating around. A large portion of society believes that the Metaverse exists. For instance, they claim that staring at a screen is also a method of interfacing with a virtual world. Furthermore, there are even some people that say humans are cyborgs. Mobile devices are the technological equivalent of ourselves. Applications that use AR technology like Pokemon Go, Dogami, and the IKEA mobile apps show the possibilities of this kind of technology. Even the most advanced VR gear like Oculus Quest 2 , and Valve index is only capable of showing a little of what's possible with VR. While we don't have a problem with the technology, we cannot agree with them either. Although it's true they're adding a digital aspect of our lives, it can be much more. We believe that an entirely immersive Metaverse can be described as a place that lets users live completely different lives. The virtual world will be capable of giving more than just sound and images for users to be immersed in the experience. Since many companies aim in distributing their own edition of Metaverse in the near future, users will require the option to connect to any one they prefer. In the same vein that is not the case with the decentralized or centralized ones will also come forth with the help of the blockchain. Decentralized blockchain Metaverses are designed to help keep your personal information safe and keep them out of those rogue hands of tech giants.
What is it that makes this Concept So revolutionary?
You might wonder why some people are making such a fuss on this topic. The answer to that is very simple and straightforward. Metaverse will be the next step in the digital world , and can change how we interact with one another and with the world. It is a good question to ask if Metaverse is relevant today is similar to asking if internet usage was relevant earlier in the 1990s. It's natural for people to hold skeptical opinions and questions concerning the implementation of the technology. Like the internet itself, the Metaverse is bound to meet our desires that we did not even realize existed. It will develop and change to meet the needs of the individual. As well as the major focus in Web 3.0 and the blockchain this virtual space will bring about significant changes to our world. Decentralization and decentralization of every aspect of our lives is just one of the modifications. A well-designed VR/AR environment can help overcome many of the limitations that affect humans, whether that be physically or psychological. Imagine a world where you can accomplish your daily activities and tasks while at as well as imagining countless fantasies.
Every minute we spend sitting in front of screens trying to figure out ways to entertain ourselves could transform into time spent in the metaverse. If this does not excite you now, then it's about time to pay attention.
Metaverse in the Blockchain
Because of the freedom it affords to its users blockchain technology is one that is extremely compatible with virtual reality. The benefits received from collaboration are numerous in number. Let's examine some of them.
Digital evidence of ownership
The only thing that any person can own on internet , is the domain. Blockchains can permit users to connect their personal non-custodial, non-custodial wallets with the Metaverse avatar. It is enough to prove their ownership of assets and provide them with an easy means to carry out transactions.
Digital Collections
If the Metaverse has a crypto wallet in its arsenal it will allow users to show off their digital merchandise. With the aid of blockchain technology assets are coded with restrictions on their scarcity to assure the authenticity of their content and security.
Transfer value
Transferring value is a major aspect of the global society we currently live in. If a digital world is designed to substitute that, it needs to be equipped with it the capacity in transferring value. This is where blockchain comes in. Blockchain serves as the framework for transferring securely digital assets and create a DeFi system.
Interoperability
Many technology giants have started their process to introduce their own metaverses such as Omniverse, Decentraland, and Meta. If the world wants to mainstream these virtual realms, there has to be a way to seamlessly move from one one to the other. And blockchain is leading the search for interoperable solutions.
Accessibility
In order to be a success in the virtual realm, it must be able be accessed by everyone in the world that has an internet connection -- which the Metaverse can. In such a scenario everyone will have same opportunities and will level an playing field. Problems that arise from your location of origin and economy will become a thing of the past. If all of these aspects are considered, it's easy to understand the importance of blockchain in the creation of metaverses.
Metaverse in Daily Life
Then, you may be thinking of how a virtual universe like that could benefit a human in their daily lives as a real person. There are numerous ways the Metaverse can aid in the real world. For example, Television, various events, and other events The events like musical shows events, fashion shows and sporting events will become more accessible using this method. Anyone around the globe can take part on the fun while being within the comforts of their homes. Major artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande as well as KSI have already hosted such shows and enjoying massive success. In addition, the latest movie releases and shows will be accessible on the Metaverse.
Food delivery
As a fundamental necessity for any human, food as well as transportation of food will get precedence in the virtual world. When your avatar is connected to an eating establishment located in Metaverse you will be able to request the food delivered directly to your doorstep in the real world. Major names in food industry such as McDonald's have already taken steps to introduce similar services to the virtual world.
Shopping
Like food delivery when shopping, you will be able send items to your real-world address. If you're doing things like clothes shopping, test to see if they will fit before the purchase takes place. In addition, you will be able to personalize your avatar. They'll be exactly like NFTs.
Medical field
Metaverse will also open possibilities to meet medical researchers, and pharmaceutical specialists from all over the world. Furthermore, fully immersive metaverse will assist in storing and maintaining all medical data in a manner that is both dependable and secure from tampering. Aimedis Health City is a wonderful example of this.
Work
If a company decides that it wants to work on the Metaverse It will help them reduce funds that could be used for buildings materials, transport, and other expenses. The employees will also be able to work from home , working in a cozy environment. Additionally, they will have access to job opportunities in the international market unlike ever before.
eSports
eSports are an area that is taking over the world in a stunning manner. Like, for instance, games like League of Legends get a reach of over 194 million, beating MLB, NBA, and NHL and games like Dota 2 have a prize amount of more than $45 million. If you add a Metaverse that is more favorable for eSports over traditional ones, eSports have the potential to dominate. Additionally, projects that earn money through play like Axie's infinity will boost the already huge impact of eSports.
Financial and economic
Metaverse could revolutionize the way people think about the financial sector. DeFi institutions , in addition to brick-and-mortar enterprises are making steps towards a virtual world. This has led to scenarios such as that of the Ministry of ICR of South Korea which has pledged $186.7 million to the Metaverse ecosystem.
What's the next chapter for the Metaverse?
What's the future of Metaverse technology is a matter that cannot be answered right away. This technology is only taking its first steps and even that has profoundly impacted the world. Research suggests that as high as about 65% of primary-school children in the near future will be required to take on job jobs that aren't even in existence today. This could be due to the Metaverse. If the world adopts this technology at a brisk pace and embraces it, this will be where the majority of lives of humans will take place. roblox metaverse means that the imagination isn't the limit in the future of the Metaverse and the day it's gaining traction across the world is getting closer.
Conclusion
While some find it difficult to believe in a world different from ours and our own, we're already experiencing the earliest forms of it. Social media, video games as well as AR/VR programs are pushing us toward an era powered by a Metaverse. It doesn't matter if people like it the idea is not popular, you can't stop it from being implemented. In the final analysis, in a fully immersive Metaverse, possibilities will be endless, and people are able to live their lives in the way they would like to.

#POLARR PHOTO EDITOR DOWNLOAD UPDATE#
#POLARR PHOTO EDITOR DOWNLOAD PRO#
#POLARR PHOTO EDITOR DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE#
The app often logs me out, which causes a glitch it doubles, sometimes even triples, the filters I have, or brings back old ones I have deleted. I've begun keeping the computer on just to avoid the very, very long start up delay. While it is opening, it slows down everything else on my computer - I often have to force quit other applications I'm trying to use. Thank you all for what you do! Polarr takes minutes just to open. It serves my purposes easily and using it is a breeze! Just download it. I find myself using this app way more often than I do photoshop. I am a real estate agent and a musician, and I love taking pictures. But honestly, this app does so many of the same things, and in several cases of those instances, Polarr is much easier to use. Very poor customer service combined with a faulty program has drawn me away from Polarr and I just wanted to give a heads up to any serious photo editors that this program is a waste of your time now unfortunately.
#POLARR PHOTO EDITOR DOWNLOAD PRO#
Very sad considering I paid for their pro edition already in full. When I contacted them over email at first because of these issues they simply blew it off and refused to work on the issues with me. Possibly the worst part of this all is how Polarr has refused to listen and try to work with me to fix the problem. I tested the editing program on a MacBook Pro and my iMac and both systems have this problem. I have also tested this across multiple platforms and cameras to see if simply one of my things was messed up. Sometimes it is literally the same photo in all settings taken at the same shot just simply in sequence and photo P…. Random photos in a sequence of shots will not work and there is nothing I have been able to discover that causes it.
#POLARR PHOTO EDITOR DOWNLOAD UPDATE#
A couple months ago Polarr created its latest update and ever since glitches up like crazy. Our download links are from safe sources and are frequently virus scanned to protect you.
#POLARR PHOTO EDITOR DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE#
If you want to download the software on your windows pc or mac, you could either first visit the Mac store or Microsoft AppStore and search for the app OR you can easily use any of the download links we provided above under the "Download and Install" header section to download the application. You may manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Account Settings after purchase. The subscription fee is charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew at the cost of the chosen package, unless canceled hours in advance prior to the end of the current period. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually at the rate selected depending on the subscription plan.Īlternatively, a one-time payment plan, if provided, might be available this is not a subscription. Polarr is a powerful photo editor for Mac. Pro photographers will look forward to our layer support, curve tools, local adjustments and so much more. It doesn't matter if you're new to photography or a pro, Polarr has it all.

Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing

#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing update#
#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing Patch#
#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing code#
#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing password#
“In general, these flaws cannot be exploited through email in the Thunderbird product because scripting is disabled when reading mail, but are potentially risks in browser or browser-like contexts.” However, Mozilla says that exploiting these vulnerabilities with a malicious email isn’t possible because of the way Thunderbird is configured right now. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code,” Mozilla says. “Mozilla developer Jason Kratzer reported memory safety bugs present in Thunderbird 78.2.
#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing code#
These problems have been discovered and reported by a Mozilla developer, and the parent company explains that in the worst-case scenario, an attacker abusing the vulnerabilities could get access to run arbitrary code on devices where an unpatched version of Mozilla Thunderbird is running. Out of these vulnerabilities, only the memory safety bugs have been flagged with a high severity rating.
CVE-2020-15677: Download origin spoofing via redirect.
CVE-2020-15676: XSS when pasting attacker-controlled data into a contenteditable element.
CVE-2020-15678: When recursing through layers while scrolling, an iterator may have become invalid, resulting in a potential use-after-free scenario.
CVE-2020-15673: Memory safety bugs fixed in Thunderbird 78.3.
Mozilla Thunderbird 78.3 also comes with the following security fixes: Beginning with this update, the installation of legacy MailExtensions is disabled, according to the official changelog.
#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing update#
Then, the update also includes a change for MailExtensions. OpenPGP: Creating a new key pair did not automatically select it for use.
#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing password#
Selecting "Cancel" on the Master Password prompt at startup incorrectly reported corrupted OpenPGP data.
OpenPGP: Do not show external key UI when disabled by preference.
OpenPGP: Improved decryption performance with large messages.
These are the OpenPGP improvements available in this update, as per the official changelog: There are no new features in this update, but only changes and fixes.įirst and foremost, the OpenPGP implementation is getting more refinements, and Mozilla says this update brings improved decryption performance with large messages, and the UI to hide the external key is now disabled by preference. Other than that, Mozilla Thunderbird version 78.3.1 comes with all the improvements included in its predecessor, so let’s have a look at what’s included in version 78.3.0 too.
#Mozilla thunderbird keeps freezing Patch#
So this new build is more of an emergency patch that deals with the whole thing and thus brings Thunderbird back to fully working condition. It’s a fix that resolves crashes reported in Thunderbird 78.3.0, an update that was released only a few days before. The most recent update shipped to Mozilla Thunderbird users is version 78.3.1, and as the parent company itself explains, there’s just one important fix in this release. The feature lineup is absolutely impressive, and Mozilla keeps improving it with every new release. Mozilla has released a new version of the Thunderbird email app, and this time the changelog points to a super-important fix that brings the client back to working condition.Īs we all know already, Mozilla Thunderbird is one of the best email apps currently around, and if you ask me, it’s one of the best alternatives to Microsoft Outlook right now.īut the simple thing that it’s available with a freeware license makes Thunderbird the go-to app for so many users out there, and it happens for a good reason.

MICROSOFT RANDOM PASSWORD GENERATOR PASSWORD
Even if your 18-character password is a combination of symbols, numbers and letters, your password will still be fully recorded through these programs. Don’t disclose and use your passwords in unfamiliar environments and unknown devices, due to the need of work or amusement, people will often use unfamiliar computers, When you enter your password to log in to your account, your password may have been recorded Through a special keyboard recording program.
MICROSOFT RANDOM PASSWORD GENERATOR PC
If you often use PC in an office or public place, it is recommended that you do not save the password in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, IE), because the password stored in the browser is easily disclosed to other PC users.Ĥ. So our latest advice is that don’t feel free to change your complex passwords unless you think it has been leaked.ģ. According to a survey, 46% of modified passwords are more likely to be guessed by hackers. However, a recent study by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has shown that changing passwords regularly is annoying and makes them even easier. Don’t feel free to change passwords, though many professional suggestions have shown it’s a good habit to change passwords regularly(like 1 month, 3 months, half a year and so on). But if the password is recorded in the working environment, it will undoubtedly increase the risk of leakage.Ģ. If users do this at home, it will be safer. Usually, users will write down the passwords in their notepads or sticky notes to ensure they will not forget that. Obviously, with the prevalence of brute force and dictionary attacks and the dramatic improvement of computer performance, these passwords are vulnerable to hackers.ġ. Avoid using weak and short passwords like 123456, password, qwerty, iloveyou, these commonly used words are recognized as the worst passwords, if you use any of them, hackers will crack your accounts effortlessly. Don’t use your name, birthdates, ID card numbers, and any personal information in your password, even if the name of your families, friends and pets are not good choices to use in a password.Ĥ. The password must be as long and complex as possible, at least 16 characters, and include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special symbols.ģ. If a hacker cracks one of your accounts to obtain a password, the other accounts may no longer be safe.Ģ. Do not use the same password for multiple accounts.
MICROSOFT RANDOM PASSWORD GENERATOR HOW TO
Let's take a look at some of the most common password mistakes and how to fix them.1. While these types of passwords are easy to remember, they're also some of the least secure. Some of the most commonly used passwords are based on family names, hobbies, or just a simple pattern.
MICROSOFT RANDOM PASSWORD GENERATOR GENERATOR
If you're having trouble creating one, you can use a password generator instead. For example, swimming1 would be a weak password. Avoid using words that can be found in the dictionary.Try to include numbers, symbols, and both uppercase and lowercase letters. If someone discovers your password for one account, all of your other accounts will be vulnerable. Don't use the same password for each account.Your password should be at least six characters long, although for extra security it should be even longer. This type of information is often publicly available, which makes it easier for someone to guess your password. Never use personal information such as your name, birthday, user name, or email address.Let's take a look at some of the most important things to consider when creating a password. A strong password is one of the best ways to defend your accounts and private information from hackers.Ī strong password is one that's easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. At this point, you may be wondering, why do I even need a strong password anyway? The truth is that even though most websites are secure, there's always a small chance someone may try to access or steal your information.

What do you Think of an Online Wedding?
Article content The idea of living in the virtual realm has been around for years. For instance, in Minecraft for instance - players can build houses, or even entire villages.
Article content But what about having the wedding online?
A couple got married in metaverse, while others are complaining about the images.
Sure, many people used Zoom to attend weddings in COVID-19, but what about having all of the wedding celebrations in the metaverse, a fully immersive virtual world, with each guest being an avatar? It turns out that it is already possible.
The reaction to the idea has been mixed. Some were enthusiastic, while others were critical. Others pointed out that similar events have been taking place on other platforms for a long time, but with superior graphics.
It's really hard to imagine anything worse. I don't believe there is anything worse than watching cartoons of people in the course of a conference call. You can call it what you want.
Article content Traci and Dave Gagnon had their wedding in the metaverse during the Labor Day weekend, The New York Times reported. The couple held their wedding in person ceremony at an New Hampshire golf club, however, they also held a wedding in the virtual world for their family and friends. Instead of a video conference, the couple opted to have the entire ceremony be broadcast in a virtual setting and include images from the real-life wedding broadcast in the virtual one.
The reaction to the story was swift and swift, with Jezebel declaring in a headline: "The Metaverse might be the worst thing to ever happen to weddings." The gossip website also pointed out that this could make it difficult to politely decline an invitation to a wedding.
Many Twitter users are not happy with this article's content.
"This was happening 20 years ago, but why is it now so significant?" one user wrote.
Others claimed that graphics in games such as Second Life and World of Warcraft were more appealing fifteen years ago.
"Really it's hard to think of anything better, anything I'd want to do less than look at cartoons of people on a conference call," another Twitter user wrote. "Call it what you like."

The idea was adored by many. "A new kind of wedding!" Have you ever thought about a wedding like that? One writer wrote that the possibilities are endless. Another thought was of a metaverse wedding right the middle of the Eiffel Tower.
The Gagnons stated that having their wedding in the metaverse meant that guests could attend who might not have been able to in person. Traci's sick maid of honour was able to walk down the aisle and Dave's friend who was unable attend because his wife has medical conditions that predate her, could make his toast.
The metaverse hosting the wedding was designed by Virbela the company that according to its website, "builds 3D immersive worlds for work learning and events." It is compatible with almost all computers and requires no VR headset.
The result was not embraced by Gamers.
"Graphically, Metaverse looks about the similar to a PlayStation 1" says an article on dexerto.com. It is a gaming news site.

Article content Many Twitter users posted images of weddings held in the multiplayer online game Final Fantasy XIV. One user wrote "Look at how gorgeous it looks."
The Gagnons decided to have their wedding in the metaverse because their avatars had met before meeting in person. According to The New York Times interview the couple's avatars met at a Las Vegas company event in 2015, while both were working for eXp Realty, a company that is expanding into virtual work and the metaverse.

Getting Started with Metaverse 101
Tumblr media
Virtual reality experiences are becoming increasingly popular.
Metaverse, a combination of AR/VR, NFT, web 3.0, and more, has the potential to create virtual reality experiences we have never seen before. Metaverse redefines a wide range of industries, including interaction, video gaming, shopping, and finance.
This article will explain what Metaverse is and why you should know about it.
What is Metaverse?
As a 3D, virtual, online space, the Metaverse aims to connect users on a grand scale. Our current use of the internet is a good example. To simplify things for its users, the Metaverse links various platforms under one website.
Logging into a recognized Metaverse will allow users to live an entirely different virtual life. Games are excellent examples of virtual worlds where players can play according to their preferences. A Metaverse has a high chance of success since a growing number of people are trying to escape reality.
Imagine what would happen if the living conditions on earth got so bad that it was impossible to enjoy anything. In such a case, a virtual area where people can escape the difficulties of reality would be greatly beneficial. In light of the direction our world is going, it is not hard to envision a future like that.
It seems most likely that there will be a large number of virtual worlds if things continue in this manner. There are a lot of big names in the market, like Meta (or Facebook), Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, etc. The first iteration of a virtual world has already begun.
youtube
AR/VR history
AR and VR date back to the 1800s, when stereoscopes were introduced for the first time. Following that, different concepts and models emerged, including the "Ultimate Display" from Ivan Sutherland in the 1960s. Many people believe this is the plan that laid the foundation for modern VR.
In the early 2010s, VR and AR technologies began to spread. In 2010, Oculus Rift VR headsets sent shockwaves through the market. Sony and Samsung both released VR headsets following the release of Oculus. At the same time, Google Glass, a set of AR glasses, was released.
Pokémon Go is one of the games that used AR to its advantage and took the world by storm. Even the blockchain is getting in on the action by introducing Metaverses like Decentraland and Sandbox.
The concept of a Metaverse may seem foreign, but it has been used in lots of titles. Ready Player One is a great example of this worst-case scenario. Along with its downs and ups, it shows the full potential of virtual worlds.
Despite all of this, we are still in the early stages of reaching the maximum potential of VR and AR even with the name change from Facebook to Meta.
The Metaverse opens up a world of possibilities
With a fully immersive Metaverse, the possibilities are endless. Metaverses are defined differently by many people, and there are some interesting viewpoints.
There is a part of society that believes that the Metaverse already exists. Gazing at a screen is also a form of engaging with a virtual world, according to them. There are even some individuals who believe humans are cyborgs and mobile devices are extensions of ourselves.
Using AR technology in applications like Pokémon Go, Dogami, and IKEA mobile app demonstrates what is possible. Virtual reality gear like Oculus Quest 2 and Valve Index can only reveal a fraction of the possibilities.
We can't argue with them, but we can't also agree with them. We are adding a virtual element to our lives, but it can be so much more.
An immersive Metaverse will allow users to lead completely different lives. For users to feel immersed in this virtual world, much more than sounds and images will be available.
Many companies intend to send their own versions of the Metaverse, so users will need to be able to choose whichever they prefer. With the help of the blockchain, we will also see centralized versus decentralized ones. Blockchain Metaverses will provide you with a way to secure your private information and keep it away from the grubby hands of tech giants.
Exactly why this concept is so revolutionary
Some individuals may wonder why this topic is causing such a stir. Answering that question is simple and straightforward. The metaverse will revolutionize how we engage with the world in the digital age.
Asking if the Metaverse matters now is like asking if the internet mattered back in the 1990s.
In the same way that the web fulfills our requirements we weren't even aware of, the Metaverse will also adjust and progress according to the user's needs. This virtual world, coupled with Web 3.0 and blockchain, will bring much-needed changes to the world.
VR/AR worlds will allow humans to overcome many physical and mental limitations. Imagine a world where you can accomplish your everyday tasks and jobs while living almost endless dreams.
All the time we spend staring at screens or looking for ways to entertain ourselves can directly be invested in the Metaverse. It's about time you start focusing on this if it doesn't excite you yet.

Metaverse in the Blockchain
Due to the freedom it provides its users, blockchain is an excellent technology for a virtual world. Cooperation has numerous advantages. Here are a few of them.
- Digital proof of ownership
Domain names are the only thing anyone can own on the internet. Blockchain, however, can enable users to link non-custodial wallets to Metaverse avatars. With this alone, users can prove ownership of properties and make transactions easily.
- Digital Collections
If the Metaverse has a crypto wallet, users can display their digital collectibles. Using blockchain technology, possessions can be coded with deficiency restrictions to ensure their authenticity, uniqueness, and value.
- Transfer worth
Currently, we live in a world where value is transferred frequently. In order to replace it, a virtual world must be able to transfer value. This is where blockchain comes into play. It is possible to implement a DeFi system using blockchain as a structure for securely transferring digital properties.
- Interoperability
A lot of tech giants have started introducing their own Metaverses, such as Omniverse, Decentraland, and Meta. In order for these virtual worlds to become mainstream, there needs to be a way to seamlessly move between them. In the race to find interoperable services, blockchain is leading the way.
- Accessibility
For the Metaverse to be a successful virtual world, it must be accessible to anyone with an internet connection. As a result, everyone will have the same opportunities and the playing field will be leveled. In the future, you won't have to worry about issues related to your origin place and its economy.
Blockchain plays a crucial role in the development of metaverses when all of these factors are considered.
Metaverse in Daily Life
So, you might be wondering how a virtual world like that can assist a human in their daily lives. The Metaverse can assist real life in a variety of ways. As an example,
- Various events and tv
This approach will make musical programs, style programs, and sporting events more accessible. The enjoyable experience can be enjoyed by anyone, anywhere in the world.
Artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and KSI are currently hosting such programs and seeing great success. Furthermore, the Metaverse will offer the most recent film releases and television shows.
- Food shipment
Any human needs food, and the delivery of food will also be a concern in the virtual world. Food can be delivered to your doorstep in the real world when your avatar contacts a food service in the Metaverse. McDonald's has taken action to carry out a similar service in the Metaverse.
- Shopping
When shopping, you will be able to send goods to your real-world address just like when you ship food. It is likewise possible to inspect clothes before making a purchase, such as when shopping for clothes. In addition, you will have the flexibility to dress up your avatar. They will be similar to NFTs.
- Medical field
Additionally, Metaverse will offer the opportunity to meet medical, scientific, and pharmaceutical experts from around the world. In addition, the blockchain will help to shop and maintain your medical records in a way that is both tamper-proof and proven. Aimedis Health City is an excellent example of this.
- Work
When a company decides to operate on the Metaverse, it will be able to save money that could have gone towards homes, supplies, and transportation. Additionally, workers will be able to work from home in a more comfortable environment. Moreover, individuals will have access to worldwide job opportunities like never before.
- eSports
Video games like League of Legends reach over 194 million players, beating MLB, NBA, and NHL, and Dota 2 has a reward pool of more than $45 million. With a Metaverse that benefits eSports more than traditional sports, eSports will surely take off.
- Economic and financing
The Metaverse will revolutionize the way people look at finance. Virtual worlds are being explored by both DeFi organizations and brick-and-mortar companies. As a result, the Ministry of ICR of South Korea has committed $186.7 million to the Metaverse environment.
What's the future hold for the Metaverse?
It is impossible to answer directly what the future holds for technology like Metaverse. Even though this technology is still in its infancy, it has already had a significant impact on society.
65% of primary school students today will be required to perform job functions that do not yet exist. Metaverse might be to blame for this.
The world will spend most of its time there if it embraces this innovation. When it comes to the future of Metaverse, the sky is the limit, and its implementation worldwide keeps getting better every day.
Conclusion
Although many find it difficult to believe in a virtual world, we are already experiencing primitive forms of it. We are moving towards a world powered by a Metaverse thanks to computer games, social media, and AR/VR applications.
You can't stop it from being executed, regardless of how people feel about it. Finally, in an immersive Metaverse, the possibilities are endless, and people can live their lives as they wish.
