A heavy flak battery at an air field springs in to action, Belgium 1944
The Flak 18 88mm featured in this photo is interesting in that it is fitted with the stereoscopic Kommandogerat 36 range finder and was rarely photographed.
The optics used in the range finder were of the highest quality and by working out the length of the tube and the angle at which the lenses were positioned, the crew could accurately target enemy aircraft.
