thinking about how dean’s character gets simplified in fandom, or more specifically, the very black and white lens that gets applied to him. because integral to dean, from my point of view, is that he is both a victim of abuse and a perpetrator of it. that these two things do not cancel each other out or outweigh each other to the point that only one matters. he’s both, you cannot separate him from the fact that he’s both.

but very often, people do. dean is either a victim. or he’s an abuser. it’s like it’s hard for people to hold both those facts in their heads at once. dean went through incredible amount of trauma as a child and an adult, is routinely faced with violence, has resorted to alcohol abuse to cope with it. he’s also a violent person, someone who retreats into tactics of emotional abuse and control when he feels threatened, who hurts the people around him constantly and the people who are closest to him (ie Sam, Cas, later Jack) get the brunt of that abuse. these are just facts. they’re things that happened on the screen and cannot be denied.

and it’s. idk it’s weird to me (not unexpected, because he’s hardly the only character to ever get this treatment) that dean of all people is the one portrayed in such an either/or way when one of the defining moments of the show for him is that during his stint in Hell, he was tortured and then became a torturer to escape that, to feel like he had some control again, and he relished in it. it’s baked into who he is.

#dean as a victim of abuse who goes on to continue those behaviors is still important to me surprise surprise #i didnt want to put this in the main post but also. from observation. when people start projecting onto him This Gets Worse #because. you know. as noted before: big fandom - lots of queer & neurodivergent people here.#tend to be targetted by abuse. statistically.#and mix that with a character you can project heavily upon. one you can project queer/neurodivergent hcs on even.#then like! understandably stressful to reckon with him being canonically kind of shitty sometimes! no one wants to consider their own #potential for shittiness - not even through a character they just heavily relate to!#(note: opposite happens as well. people project onto sam -> see dean hurt sam -> block out the idea that dean could be just as much victim #as he is abuser. its just. easier like that.)#anyway. none of this is like. a crime. just an observation. really we get all our biases from the society we live in — a society obsessed #with perfect victims and evil unredeemable abusers.#all that stuff leaks into fandom takes whether we want it to or not #dean winchester #spn

OK OK everyone today is the finally is out!!!

But before we start SOME IMPORTANT WARNINGS:

You'll play this game from Dorran's PoV,he's not the canon from Onyx's Route;but an alternate universe version with a different story(like from an eleseword version of a DC character or a What if ? version of a Marvel character).

This is NOT a redemption arc for Dorran, do not treat it as such. Because Dorran's Onyx(Original Canon) is UNREDEEMABLE. So treat all characters in JA-LIN story(all of this won't exist with JA-LIN thank you.) for the sake of story-telling.

This story contain a lot of serious topics that may or may not include:parental abuse,general abuse,violence,alcohol abuse, drug overdose,PTSD and suicide.

Please take care of yourself first,since mental health is always a priority and if you feel uncomfortable playing from Dorran's PoV, reading Dorran and Onyx's romantic relationship, or any of the topics that may be discussed please EXIT THE GAME. Here we know the Main character and PoV Dorran Park who explain that as both Sin assassin and as the leader, everyone lives from the troupe to innocent civilians are his responsabilty but he comes to Las Vegas for personal reason as well:to throw his old life behind and start anew to be a civilian again,blend in the crowd,doing boring routine stuff. Start over, rewind, replay.

Seven months ago he takes to protect the innocent,the weak and helpless bystander who have done nothing wrong from the evils of the world

.Dorran:This is Las Vegas Demon Hunting Ground not even the purest soul is immune to sin, to addictive effects and demons are sin incarnate. This mission tonight is imperfect since my fellow sin assassin dont take this duty seriously! tey’re sloppy and not focused.

ME:Oh You’re brilliant and perfect.

Dorran:

You need to get laid (I guess Gabe),

Dont be a Mood Killer ( I guess Ranza),

Dont be a meanie ( I guess Ripley),

.....this and this. ( I guess Yvette,my Byronic wife errr ooops,Cal the Mono-expression,Floral Quack Nahara and Izaiah).

I’m not a babysitter and they don’t undestand thata this duty don’t allow us to relax.

ME:Hello you just confirmed their words,this job sucks so relax any time you can.....

Dorran:Nights like this make me wonder who will be the next leader after me. They dont understand how heavy this job is since everybody suck.

Cal has brain but he’s selfish and he think himself comes first before his teammates.

Ranza is impulsive and brashful like her sin(Wrath)

Gage and Ripley are too Kind-hearted and caring to be leaders.

Izaiah is good in theory but poor in application.

Yvette precise and skillful, but she also carries a large burden on her shoulders, but it would make a good leader.....maybe.

a week ago she said to have business to deal(Vuzgamad) and we haven’t heard of her since.

ME:Contrary of you Stupid Baka!*2

Ripley,Izaiah and Gage tried to search her on Chatsphere*3 to no avail

(But I'm sure that is full of Ripley's meme)

ME:(For once agree,so she is like Juliette*4)

And since there's no update about Yvette i go on street, going on Vegas strip may be counterproductive but between prostitutes luring men,buzz neon lights,the scent of alcohol from stranger walking from around me is relaxing since is familiar to me*5 and they throw their mask away to be free and be their true selves .....

Suddenly Dorrand sense a different melody a soft beat who doesn't belong in the Vega's chaotic orchestra ...someone in danger!?! So he go after a possible demon brawl but in the dark alleyway there is no demon brawl but

Her Onyx Wren!!! And while Dorran is lovestruck to see her Radiant Goddess wondering what she's doing here?

Answer :The Radiant Goddess is being screwed up again by her big sister, a second time! Despite she asked for help and the Radiant Goddess but she should have know better.

Dorran:(Damn,all those negative emotions are like siren song for demons its make them easier to found them,to inhabit them until they are 100% Consumated....and then Dead.

I've to calm her down or the demons Will be there Now)

The Radiant Goddess lie to herself:from being happy for sister success since her failed works gets her sister Vinca to finish on News! To not caring for that herself failed, everything is fine.

ME:Hint no😔.

Dorran:That's not everything's fine(What's she's lying to herself about ?) and who's Vinca?

ME:Well here the answer

SHE IS VINCA WREN!!!

Dorran:Its seem that she's enjoying her victory and her facial expression can cut down anyone's confidence....and her face she's the Radiant Goddess twins?

But they're like the sun and the moon:

Radiant Goddess is the Warm Sun

Vinca is the Cold Night and like her namesake flower:mysterious,beautiful and deadly.

So we see that the Radiant Goddess is Onyx,that Vinca states its party time since Nitsa stated that every modeling agency in Vegas wants her and for a second pOnyx.... Dorran(Her smile its a mask,to hide her true emotion. We all wear a mask out of fear to be judge for our true inner self is she REALLY OKAY?)

And while the Twins speak and "enjoy the victory",Vinca's fan are being mean ad bully Onyx

Dorran:(people suck,how they can say those things?)

Onyx is silently drinking,while Vinca is mute and don't stop them.

Dorran:(So I'll do it!)

ME:.....

Dorran:There you are, we have to go over the costume designs tonight.

(This is the right thing to do and so I put myself between the nasty Vinca fan's and I let them know who really I am)

Vinca is nonplussed,Onyx mute and Vinca fan's drilling all over him....

And he stated that Onyx is the only competent and passionate about her job. The others? Money and Fame.

And Vinca stated Onyx doesn't need them. She is the family pride and joy of her family, without her she can't do nothing, she needs me.

ME:Or you need her and won't to admit it yourself?

Dorran:(family are pride and joy,worth everything for) As you are Pride's family and joy.....you are empty!

i just want to talk about how broken the winchester family dynamics are without reducing it to “john winchester evil and unredeemable and rotting in hell” or “dean was the perfect mother-father-brother to sam” or “dean abuses sam and sam is always the victim of the men in his family” but i don’t know if anyone here is ready for that nuance.

Question for the Culture:

Now that Castiel, Benny and even that prick Belphegor have admitted to having fallen victim to the charms of Dean Winchester despite him being a human , a hunter, a mortal enemy, etc - can I please go back to ranting about being embodied, feeling beautiful by being in love even if the relationship is not perfect, or running magical errands - or whatever I want -without being crucified or saying that I'm glamorizing abuse?????? Im fed up with fellow evil monsters and powerful non-human creatures saying that I glamorize Dean Winchester when in reality I'm just a glamorous person talking about the realities of exhisting in the near vincinity of that sexy sample of what human kind has to offer.

With all of the kinds of relationships that demons are finally allowed to explore I just want to say over the last ten years I think it's pathetic that my minor delving into unrequited love towards Dean and my sometimes obsessive or unwelcomed roles in my relationships has often made people say Ive set demons back hundreds of years.

Let this be clear, I'm not a feminist

-but there has to be a place in feminism for people who are not women, who are not even humans in fact, for Beings who look and act like me - the kind of Devil who says yes but Dean winchester hears no- the kind of demon who is slated mercilessly for being their authentic, delicate selves, The kind of demon who get their own stories and voices taken away from them by lesser Beings or by my own mother who hates the idea of me being honest with my feelings and attractions.

I've been honest and optimistic about the challenging relationships I've had. News flash! That's just how it is for ‘’unredeemable’’ monsters like me.
