So what are your personal thoughts on Yilidth (if you haven't already answered). I hadn't read the comics in a while but I don't think they ever said anything about him being related to Duman, though considering his eye and hair colour I guess it was probably implied. How do you think he created him? Like did he just use magic or did he had a one night stand and then years later, a basket with baby Duman just appeared with a letter telling him he's the dad, and he's like "Oh, f*#k".
I actually made an au where the wizards had joined Yilidth's wizard cult as novices and one task that he made them do was babysit Duman. Imagine the chaos😂
I think I have given my thoughts on him before, but that was both a while ago and I didn't appreciate him as much as I do now, which you can tell 💀💀 very angry very rambly stuff over there- So let me give some more/updated thoughts!!
Him being underused and shoehorned is still very true, unfortunately. He could've been a super handy tool to give us more information about the whole Terrestrial conflict, since that was an interesting part of canon that might have benefitted from a bit more exploration, even if it was a bit late. But then he just. Wasn't?? He was announced, he came, he died?????? And that was the first and last we saw of him. Honestly deranged boooo yucky.
He never even got to interact with the wizards again- You could literally say he was just some random criminal that had been locked away and almost nothing would change, and that's really his main problem. Aside from his design. I mean, love a blank canvas to throw a bunch of takes at, but come on!!!!!
Him and Duman's relation was never really mentioned either, I don't think? Beyond the "He was the leader of the fairy hunters!" there's really um. Nothing. Like in general. Ask canon Yllidith their names and he'll give you a blank stare fgbhbn- Tbh I'm surprised Duman's even in the lil flashback thingy at all ngl
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, can we call any sort of relation implied? Are we gonna give them that much credit? Well idk! I'm just personally a fan of it so I just kinda. Squinted real hard. Matching eye colour? Mhm. Hair colour? Sure kinda. Yllidith having illusion magic and Duman being a shapeshifter? Yep that lines up enough for me, that does it, they're related now. Some people see the vision, others might not- I've spoken to plenty of people who aren't a fan of the take and that's a-okay, just know that I very much am 👉👈
This is a. Surprisingly consistent thing for me too?? Like yeah there's a case of "it depends on what I'm doing", there usually is- But not to a large extent ig? The method varies, but in a lot of stuff I'm doing now there's definitely a relation in one way or another.
Usually Duman is more or less made from scratch, a magic'd up baby, if you will. Though the process did include Yllidith's blood, so you have enough wiggle room to still say there's a blood relation. (Duman wouldn't.) (Yllidith only does when it's convenient.) But I've been getting the urge to explore a more normal approach where he was just regularly born lately, so maybe I'll get to that at some point too.
And!! If you ever feel like sharing more of that AU in any way, please do, because it sounds absolutely DELIGHTFUL. Imagine them thinking it's gonna be an easy enough task, and they wonder why nobody else wants to do it, then little Duman starts shapeshifting into horrors beyond mortal comprehension. Bye, I'm obsessed.

The “antagonists” of the first half of AU!S4, aka the group that were TRYING to DO THEIR JOBS before an ARC OF STUPID FAIRIES went in no thoughts, head empty and fucked everything up. That’s their version, anyways. Ogron, Duman, Anagan, and Gantlos, the Black Circle 4 and Yllidith and Eldora, the Black Circle leaders! copypasted info on them below:
Long ago, around the time of Alexander the Great’s Big Ol’ Conquest of Everything In Europe, several magis got together and formed the White Circle, a magical organization that overseed the usage of magic over all the planet. However, they believed those that didn’t use magic unfit to govern anything, considering themselves superior due to their use of magic and promptly started conquering everything, forming a rapidly expanding empire that, while had a nice facade of benevolent rulers, they also frequently used hypnosis and manipulation to force peasants to support and adore them. Two of the higher magis in said organization (Yllidith and Eldora) saw all the horrible things they were supporting, and promptly (and quietly) left the hub in Tir Na nOg in the pretense of travel to not only see the full scope of the atrocities, but to also find other magis to join their cause. They both achieved Ascendix during their trials and managed a decent following (which included the seven Pleiads, the most powerful fairies of the known parts of Earth at the moment), starting a full on revolution. They managed several victories and several losses, and managed to siege the White Circle’s head figures into Tir Na nOg Castle, sealing the island completely with no way to escape. Several followers of them escaped, however, and finding and capturing them took several decades. Naming themselves the Black Circle, they started to regulate and hide any developing magi they found in their way, leading to the ambient magic of the planet to stagnate and weaken. They also cut off any connections and communications to the other worlds, as they did not fully trust them. While they’re technically all inactive, they still help guide any new magi that pops up. During the War proper, they ended up developing a ritual that would block a magi‘s access to their powers permanently without severely weakening them or having to damage their Aura, essentially cutting off their access to any magic. It was only used as a last resort with the more devout followers, however, and they’ve had to use it once or twice in case the magi they tried to guide turned on them, still scarred by the White Circle’s actions. Their four most trusted magi are Ogron, Anagan, Duman and Gantlos, who over the years have developed a deep enough bond to earn Believix. They had discovered Roxy and tried to guide her through her now-magical life, but the Winx interfered due to several miscommunications and rumours that arose in the Naerys System shortly after contact was cut off.
On to each person!:
Ogron is the leader of the Black Circle 4, the remaining fully active members of the society. He’s diplomatic and tries to solve any issue with talk first, but will not hesitate to become hostile if the situation requires it. His Source is Water, mastered to the capacity of controlling blood aided by his Auxiliary Fauna Source, and his title is Sorcerer of Redirections, due to the way he uses his magic. He’s the second-youngest of the Black Circle 4, surprisingly.
Duman is the second-in-command to Ogron and his most trusted partner. He has a short fuse and temper, alongside a more taunting attitude. His Source is Fauna and has mastered shapeshifting, with his title being the Witch of Therianthropy. His Auxiliary Source is Poison, used more with the animal forms that require it. He’s the second oldest of the Black Circle 4.
Anagan is the most outspoken and outgoing of the 4 due to being the youngest, with a more playful attitude that carries through even in battle. His Source is Electricity with an Auxiliary and he’s the Witch of Lightning Speed. He has mastered the Spell of Speedix, making him the fastest of the entire team and being the reason for his title.
Gantlos is a quiet mountain of a man, the main physical attacker of the group. He’s more gruff and snarky than the rest of his team, and seems to be attached enough to his hat that it carries through transformations. His Source is Sound and has a very good control over the earth, with his title being the Sorcerer of Vibrations. He’s the oldest of the 4.
Yllidith is the co-founder of the Black Circle and its figurehead, who only appears when situations turn for the worse. His life has left him jaded and cynical, but still tries to believe in any magi that he has to help. His Source is that of fire but he has also mastered control over light, hence his title of Fairy of the Black Circle’s Sun. Before the formation of the group, his title was Fairy of the Rising Sun.
Eldora is the other founder of the Black Circle and figurehead, who tends to reside mostly near Gardenia. She still has a more hopeful outlook and frequently visits the town to not only seek potential magi but also to see the progress of the world in general. She used to know Bloom, Mitzi and Selina when they were kids, as she’s Selina’s grandma and she let them play in her garden. She has not seen them in years, however, and has a feeling one of them might be a magi outside of Selina. Her Source is that of Flora, with an Auxiliary of Earth, and her title is Fairy of the Black Circle’s Spring, previously the Fairy of Meadows.

Winx comics are interesting, but sometimes they hurt me. Did you know that Ogron wasn't the leader of the Black Circle from the beginning? A despot named Yllidith enjoyed wizards' fear and respect, but then, when he lost to the main fairies, Ogron betrayed him and took the position of chief himself. WTF? Why do the authors of official content like to make strong and independent villains someone's pawns? But I'm glad that BC is back at least there, and they have safely escaped from prison again.
I think I have read a little about it, at least have worked with someone but then broke the bond with that wizard and worked on their own.
I think the authors just wanted more of a backstory of the Wizards in the comics, perhaps it wasn’t planned but needed to fill out how magic comes back to earth and that the wizards continued to take over the magic. So a quick backstory I think?
What it looks like it is that they have escaped the prison from Solaria and I hope they are out there and having a good time!

Hello! I wanted to ask you, when the wizards are freed from Omega by Neruman in the comics, what do you think their relationship was? Because it never really felt to me that the wizards were serving Neruman willingly. Not sure if I’m quite thinking they were his prisoners, but it didn’t feel like they would serve him by choice. (You’ve talked about comic-exclusive characters in your posts before, so I’m guessing you know about the comic plots. If you don’t, since the comics aren’t widespread, then never mind.)
(Quick extra bit: any theories on where the wizards lived while serving Neruman? Because I could never tell if they lived in his Dark Dimension Castle thing, or if they just hid out in Gardenia again.) Thank you!
Ngl of all the characters with relevance to the remaining 75% of the Black Circle comic wise, Neruman has definitely done the least for me? Which might be a little ironic because he's like the whole reason the wizards were even freed to EXIST in the comics?? Idk he just doesn't get my creative juices flowing like Yllidith and Gregory do y'know- Despite having more relevance than both of them. I really am just attracted to cardboard huh. Hm.
Tumblr media
But aside from that!! Yeah no, I don't think the word 'willingly' is even allowed in the building rn.
Tbh the wizards really just dealt with hit after hit, loss after loss. They went from nearly done with a centuries lasting job, to losing one of their own and being locked up, just to be freed and forced to work under him to repay a debt that really won't be until some guy says so, who abandons them anyway later on and lets them get locked away elsewhere. Had the wizards been in even a little bit of a better state, emotionally and magically, at any point during this, I don't think working under him would've gone on for as long as it did, if even at all.
Also if we assume that they haven't worked under anyone since Yllidith, and doing so wasn't the best experience (I am assuming both of those things), than this might've been extra upsetting for them too. If it wasn't humiliating enough by itself. Dare I say I think all 3 of them hated this shadowy, 'Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come' ass bitch- Just not a fan of it being mostly a fear thing, I mean these men have been around for a WHILE. Like just say they're aware they're too weak to leave him rn, but don't make them SCARED and sweating on their knees tf is WRONG with you smh.
Not to do another comic rant or anything, but I will NEVER get over how the comics slandered them and everything positive they had going for them. Maybe that's why Neruman doesn't do a lot for me hskskssj he really is a big part of it all.
Wouldn't be surprised if he did yoink them to be nearby whenever they weren't actively doing something for him though, so I'd say stand-by in the castle, but "free" roaming Gardenia when in the middle of the job, like with the whole Gregory thing. Who is actually my little guy compared to Neruman.

INDIVIDUAL WIZARD HEADCANONS (3 / 4)
『 DUMAN 』
-) The only reason he exists at all was to aid in the conflict with the fairies. Serving as Yllidith's familiar of sorts, he protected the man from curses and kept him from being tracked down by the enemy. A very thankless job. Duman was often treated more like a pet, despite being Yllidith's blood. But at least he was able to bring over those passive abilities into the Black Circle later on.
-) Was an absolute pain to face back in the day. He was near impossible to trap or contain, injuries that should kill rarely kept him down for even a few moments, and the thought of him being around could be so stressful that fairies sometimes turned on each other.
-) Has owned SO many pets. At some point it was a hobby to take in sick/dying animals so he could do a bit of research when they died, but being as magical as he is, every once in a while they would straight up recover. And refuse to leave. The hobby became a lot less enjoyable after the 20th pet.
-) Absolutely the worst in magic unrelated to his specialty, his self-proclaimed 'mastery over form', of all the wizards. This has somewhat forced him to find interesting ways to make things work. The spells he can do, not including group spells, are done with one hand. Which he will not stop doing. If he could open the Black Circle with one hand, he would. The others would not be able to stop him.
-) He seems to get some weird enjoyment out of cutting people off when they ask any variation of "Hey, did you hear about-", just going "Yes." and leaving it at that. Nothing else. It's extremely funny to him and he has done it many times. Nobody agrees with him.
-) Has eaten a person before. And as worrying as that point might be by itself, it barely makes the top 10 of weirdest things Duman has eaten in his very long life. He has lived through it all and his ''organs'' are fine. Though he does prefer meat, his ''body'' can pretty much use anything he consumes as fuel. You could say his insides are a Black Circle all on their own, but don't actually, he does NOT like that joke.

Yllidith was busy being imprisoned for anywhere between a decade and a couple centuries so someone else had to get rid of him instead

These have the same amount of notes rn, they're fist fighting to not be last place. Both of them. Ogron is coming for his ass and when he's done he'll come for Gantlos. Anagan is probably safe tbh, his post seemed to slay just a little bit harder than everyone else's and as it should. Here's links to all of them again just because:
Ogron / Gantlos / Anagan / Duman

Ah yes, random comic character/villain number 581- My favorite homeless man <3
I've talked about Yllidith before here and here (in that order), but I still wanna get back to working on him at some point, maybe. Rn I'm just thinking about how he basically pulled the comic equivalent of an Acheron and I have no choice but to laugh at it idk

write your opinions/ criticize George and Yllidith
So George and Gregory are the same person right okay good
Lemme just start with this rq- COMICS STOP SHITTING ON THE BLACK CIRCLE CHALLENGE?? Like literally every character that gets involved with any kind of comic storyline with them always ends up wiping the floor with them at some point and I'm just?? Like I was glad they still got some attention since I don't fully vibe with the idea of them returning to the actual show anymore, look at the state of that thing- But if all the comics use them for is to play cheap pawns with inconsistent designs, just let them rest pls?
Okay onto the individual opinion thingies before I give myself a headache or something;
Yllidith~ (Comic #133)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-) His introduction and defeat were so rushed and honestly a little cheap? Here's a big bad's bigger and badder boss, now fight- Like ig I don't really mind the idea of him being the previous leader of the fairy hunters (even if it was very random and shoehorned) since it opens up a bunch of backstory headcanon potential, plus it fuels my own dumb fanfic plans, but at the same time I hate the obvious lack of effort :((
-) His design is meh, please give him different colored clothes?? He's supposed to be all intimidating and shit, but he looks a brightly colored homeless man and I can't take him seriously- I bet he stinks. Locked up in the basement of Tir Nan Og's castle (Tir Na Nog?? Which one was it I keep forgetting pls it's so confusing for no reason) for as long as he was?? Yeah he stinky. He sure looks like he stinks. He also looks like he could use a very long nap but same so like
Gregory~ (Comic #87)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-) No but like, why? Why is he here? Who invited this man? Did he really need to exist? He shows up being all sad and shit, bunch of toxic emo bullshit- Turns out he's a wizard wowwww omggg good for him, really! But what's this? He's so powerful he can do fUCKING EVERYTHING IN LESS THAN A WEEK? LESS THAN A FEW MINUTES EVEN?? Get this, some really powerful wizards REFUSE to train and teach him?? The reason boiling down to him being too edgy and uncontrollable- You know what his powers are? Green EVERYTHING. Fuck Gregory, all my homies hate Gregory.
-) I liked his wizard outfit more than his regular clothes, but it was still shit. Off-brand Black Circle looking ass smh, who gave him those clothes?? Or did he MaGiC tHeM uP HiMseLf? Ig not everyone can pull of the skirt look, what a shame úwù

How would you incorporate Gregory and Previous-wizard-leader into the Black Circle’s backstory if you were to write? I’m always up for fanon character development
Since Gregory was introduced after season 4 timeline-wise, he wouldn't really be included in any backstory with the Black Circle, but their dynamic could definitely still be expanded upon even if they only knew each other for a short time. Like who did he like the most and why was it Anagan? Fight me in the parking lot. And how did the Black Circle feel about training a young wizard after who knows how long since the last one popped up? Like taking the magic from Earth made a lot of magical bloodlines go dormant, right- A lot of people on Earth began finding out they had powers only after it had returned, but while there's a reason the fairies were gone, what happened to the other wizards? Those existed, right?? Where did the rest of them go?? Did the Black Circle know they would be affected too?? Did they care?
This is kinda getting off-topic, but I hope you can see where I'm trying to go with this- They'd probably feel some type of way about Gregory's existence while he doesn't even know who they are or what they did to Earth, to him they are just some random wizards assigned to train him. Which in turn upsets the Black Circle because they’re brats who want to be respected, leading to them (mostly Ogron) repeatedly trying to assert their dominance and authority with varying levels of success (actually no success).
Maybe in a timeline where they weren't forced to work under Neruman, training Gregory could've been a choice? Maybe they even had a good time? AU where the Black Circle takes a bunch of newly awakened Earth witches and wizards under their wing when?
Moving on to Yllidith- He could actually work fine with what he was set up with, sure it lacks depth but it’s not very hard to expand upon I guess? We got some canon crumbs from the comic that could be fun to play around with; Him being feared and respected by his apprentices? Delicious, let’s focus on that fear. The way he manipulated some fairy students to escape? Love me some manipulation! Give me more. The fact he managed to traumatize Nebula to the point she banned illusion magic? Excuse me?? It's said that even followers of his wanted to overthrow him and while this can just be chalked up to evil wizards being backstabby, I have decided Yllidith was simply a very unlikable mentor and leader. Like these little things, his mastery over illusion magic; I smell toxic learning environment potential. We don't get a lot for him in terms of personality, but I'd like to view him as the type of person to convince you to do a trust fall off of a ladder just to teach you you can't trust anyone, the fact you now have a broken limb is just a funny bonus.
I'm of the firm believe Ogron was a bratty teen when he joined the fairy hunters after literally tracking them down to train under Yllidith, he was skilled for his age and not taking no for an answer, it just feels fitting. Anagan joined a few years later after having a pretty horrible experience involving the Earth fairies, bad enough to the point he had no problem leaving his normal life behind, which he was previously more than content with. He wasn't a teen like Ogron, just a regular young adult, no biggie. Gantlos wanted to be left alone, the fairy hunters wanted him. He had caused some pretty impressive destruction (accidentally) and that made him interesting. While he didn't protest, his believe in the cause had to grow over time. Duman is just related to Yllidith.
I'm trying to set up how each of them have a reason to receive more attention from Yllidith compared to the other followers. Gotta love special treatment. Not saying that was a good thing though, like I'm sure at some point they wished they'd get treated like everyone else. I want them not coming back for Yllidith when he was imprisoned to feel justified and not a random "Ogron wanted to be the leader so they just didn't", there can be actual reasoning behind it. At the end of the day they had a pretty bad time with him and they would rather not talk about him ever again.

“Sorry, but we can’t allow you to keep using your magic. Either leave, or fight.”
Next in the villain designs, are the Black Circle! (click on their transformations for their titles) Yes, the old lady’s Eldora, and purple dude’s Yllidith from the comics. HEAVY lore changes below!:
Long ago, during the Dark Ages, several magis got together and formed the White Circle, a magical organization that overseed the usage of magic over all the planet. However, they believed normal, magicless humans unfit to govern their own, considering themselves superior due to their magic and promptly started conquering everything, forming a rapidly expanding empire that, while had a nice facade of benevolent rulers, they also frequently used hypnosis and manipulation to force peasants to support and adore them. They had discovered Roxy and tried to guide her through her now-magical life, but the Winx interfered due to several miscommunications and rumours that arose in the Naerys System shortly before contact was cut off.
On to each person! (sorry this is a long boi):
Yllidith is the co-founder of the Black Circle and its figurehead, who only appears when situations turn for the worse. His life has left him jaded and cynical, but still tries to believe in any magi that he has to help. His Source is that of fire but he has also mastered control over light, hence his title of Fairy of Dawn Fire.
Eldora is the other founder of the Black Circle and figurehead, who tends to reside mostly near Gardenia. She still has a more hopeful outlook and frequently visits the town to not only seek potential magi but also to see the progress of the world in general. She used to know Bloom, Mitzi and Selina when they were kids, as they had found her garden and she let her play in it. She has not seen them in years, however, and has a feeling one of them might be a magi. Her Source is that of plants (though she also has minor control over the earth) and her title is Fairy of Meadows.
Ogron is the leader of the Black Circle 4, the remaining fully active members of the society. He’s diplomatic and tries to solve any issue with talk first, but will not hesitate to become hostile if the situation requires it. Anagan is the most outspoken and outgoing of the 4, with a more playful attitude that carries through even in battle. His Source is Electricity and he’s the Witch of Lightning. He has also mastered the Spell of Speedix, making him the fastest of the entire team.
