Anyways wing time. Feel free to add your own hcs.
Odile would have the wings of a swan. Big, gorgeous, elegant and graceful, but also absolutely capable of fucking someone up. She also uses them to protect her kids, because of course she does.
Bonnie would have the wings of a sparrow. Small but mighty and when in a group can and will do massive damage (look up bird mobbing for more info on what I'm referencing here :3).
Mirabelle would have the wings of a mourning dove. I don't have an explanation, other than they're pretty.
Isabeau would have the wings of a golden eagle. Something big and fierce and bulky. Before he changed, his wings were those of a bluebird - smaller, more meek but still curious and resilient.
And of course, Siffrin is diagnosed raven. Incredibly clever and resilient, but also imagine dark feathers slowly losing their color due to loop-related stress.
Act 6 spoilers below cut.
Loop has nothing more than stumps where their wings were. The wings of Siffrin burned up as they transformed, and now all that remains is a celestial shadow. They miss their wings.

In Stars and Time has taken over my brain it is SUCH cool game. I wanted to try drawing some characters as dragons, so here are Siffrin and Loop!
Some design notes under the cut (beware spoilers!)
I really wanted to make their designs contrast one another, with Siffrin being softer and round and loop being a lot of sharp edges
I also gave Siffrin a dark skull to contrast Loops shining head
Siffrin has giant crescent-moon shaped wings and dark sclera, along with a furred body. Because the missing island/his home country is described as having mountains + some notes by the dev of it getting cold at night, these are adaptations most commonly found on the island
this in turn makes Siffrin very strange when taken outside of this context
I imagine Siffrin can fly like an albatross using wind currents to hunt fish and stuff
his wings mimic his cloak! he wraps them around himself when walking normally. It also has the dual purpose of hiding his unusually massive wings from others
loop loses their wings but the stump remains. I imagine they can summon new feathered wings with their power, contrasting Siffrin who's wings are leathery
Manes are common everywhere, but having fur cover the entire body is seen as strange. Siffrin gets quite a few strange looks during their travels

... You can't help him right now. Not in the way he needs it. But at least... you can get Loop out. Just for a little while?
You can also give them a chance to come back at their own will.
Finally, with a flourish you nod. No going back. Do exactly what you can, for one night, and then bring them back.
A portal is made and you run through, this time with far more grace as you open your wings atop the favor tree and land in the branches. Alive, and unharmed.

Dragon Loop was... surprising for them. The partial dragon star they saw, sure, makes sense for someone who helped Siffrin who seems to be a dragon now. And then the two of them had a dragon fight above town and it's like hey guys what was that about? So the two have a strict "only both go dragon if we are around" policy.
Sif loves flight. It's something they only unlocked on the last loop, and only used it once too- to get away quickly. Otherwise, it's a completely new feeling! Flight! They crash into a few trees trying to get the hang of it when not fueled by adrenaline.
Loop...
... Loop likes their tail. Makes their sense of balance easier. Can't even tell their one eye is still blind! (Runs into a wall) that was on purpose ignore my lashing tail.
(Loop still grapples a bit with being a dragon star. Double whammy of "Oh I was never human" and yet having what you thought you were torn from you anyway. They didnt get w choice. They cant fully transform into their canon star form- they have to have their wings and tail.)
(I think, eventually, they grow to like their claws a bit more.)

Making of Siffrin model!
If anyone wanted to know how exactly I made this model I will lay it out in detail here! Although this way my first time making something like this so I’m not an expert.
The base is polymer clay (super sculpey I think) with a wire armature shoved in there just in case I drop him. The buttons for the cloak and the dagger are also clay. I used a sewing pin to get a very small hole for the buttons to be threaded through.
After baking, I put base coats of black and white with acrylic paint. If the brush strokes for the white paint are very visible, water it down and do multiple layers until it’s opaque.
After the base coat I moved on to smaller details like the face and boot heels, as well as shadows and highlights. It took me a few tries to get the face right, the one shown above isn’t the final.
It’s also a very good idea to varnish it, especially for the buttons or paint will rub off when passing them through the buttonholes. DuraClear is pretty cheap and works well. A few coats ultra-matte over the whole thing, then gloss to areas that should be shiny (eye, boots, gloves, buttons, dagger blade).
The eyepatch is just a tiny piece of black felt and some embroidery thread Elmer’s glued to the face.
The hair I was going to needle felt, but my white wool(left) was slightly yellowed and it looks weird in context. I ended up using a piece of cotton(right) from my bottle of melatonin*, shaping the ends into tufts with Elmer’s glue, letting it dry, then attaching it to the head. For the dyed parts I used watered down acrylics. I worked drop the hairline inwards, then smoothed it out with loose bits of cotton and glue.
I am a bit worried the glue will end up yellowing in time, we’ll have to see.
*their hair does smell faintly of strawberries because of this. Also a cotton ball would work functionally the same.
For the clothes patterns I mostly just winged it, checking if it fit on the model until I got something I liked before cutting the pieces out of white and light gray felt. I did go a little off-model for the cloak because it needed to be removable.
I attached the cloak lining with a backstitch, and the collar with a whipstitch. The buttonholes I cut with scissors and whipstitched the heck out of the edges after making sure they were big enough. I had made sure the holes in the buttons were big enough to thread a needle through when I made them so I could easily attach them.
The hat brim pieces I whipstitched together while they lay flat on top of each other very close to the edge of the fabric. I did the same with the pointy part, but also flipped it inside out afterwards. I used a running stitch along the edge to attach the top and bottom brim, and a backstitch with the pretty side on top to attach pointy piece while kind of folding it so the edge lays flat against the brim.
The last step was to use very watered down acrylics to make it look weathered.
And that’s it! Not sure if anyone really wanted this, but I figure it doesn’t hurt.

Thinking about fae Siffrin.
Maybe Odile instinctively won't make promises with him. Of the entire group, she knows there are beings who steal names and bind people to their words. She's not sure, but...
Maybe Isabeau is too kind. Siffrin constantly feels like he owes the Defender, constantly making up for the things Isabeau gives away for free. Kindness, smiles, offers of support - it's too much, maybe, or not enough (Siffrin isn't sure which is better).
Maybe Mirabelle is enticing. She's the Hero. The savior of Vaugarde. There's a story there, and Siffrin can't help but follow, wide-eyed.
And maybe Bonnie sees through them. Children can see the fae, after all, and the wings Siffrin keeps tucked under his cloak catch Bonnie's eyes from time to time. Maybe Bonnie doesn't care, or doesn't know better.

okay I've been thinking about nadine way too much lately tbh even though I made them just for family bonds. I never had a canon design for them and I still don't but you get some tumblr exclusive nadine lore are you ready here we go
nadine is juuuust older than siffrin by about a year, and their twin siblings were born just before the island went poof. nadine and their siblings were adopted by a couple that were from the island, though nadine has no idea they were adopted (you'd think they would considering the twins just magically appeared in the family one day but they uh. weren't exactly taught how that stuff works yet lol). the parents were kind, and loved nadine as if they were their own child. nadine was happy, and was more than excited to grow up with their new twin siblings!
(on that note, nadine and their twin siblings DO share a birth mother. she was a single mother that knew she couldn't support a family, let alone herself, so the nice couple down the street who could never seem to have children of their own...offered to take the kid [and soon to be kidS] in)
but after the parents went on their "business trip" (they were going to bring the rest of their family from the island to vaugarde), nadine was left to take care of two practical newborns. and considering the parents were both from and ON the island when it went poof, nadine can't remember their features or names...but knows they were supposed to have parents of some sort, otherwise why do they have siblings here to take care of? so...they blame their parents for leaving them behind, because clearly that was their intention, to just...leave them behind to fend for themselves. it changed how nadine views family as a whole for a long, long time.
nadine, nanetta, and noreis were then going from town to town for help, because how can an 11/12-year-old take care of two newborns on their own? they can't. that's when they found dormont and the house.
euphrasie was younger and a little dizzy from time to time (wonder why?) but she and her housemaidens were quick to take in the three and take care of them. and that's when nadine learned about craft, self-defense, how to take care of themselves along with their siblings...and they learned to love again.
with how often they took care of their twin siblings, nadine developed a love for working with and styling hair, and wanted to help people change and come out of their shells just like they did in the house. it took them some extra time in classes to REALLY know what they were doing, but...after a lot of work, and some encouragement from euphrasie, they learned how to craft their special hair dye!
despite how creative their craft is...nadine is actually rock craft!
nanetta and noreis are just a little older than bonnie. nanetta (she/her, scissors) is very masc presenting and noreis (he/him, paper) is very fem presenting, but they'll often switch outfits and do each others hair or play with makeup. the only way to really tell them apart is their hair, since nanetta's is short and noreis's is very long. they like to coordinate their words to try and speak at the same time to mess with nadine and their friends, but all of the latter just finds it funny.
nanetta is very quiet and well mannered, and likes to spend her time reading and drawing. while noreis likes to play in the mud and climb trees and catch bugs. noreis will often bring small critters or cool looking bugs to nadine and nadine genuinely loves it. noreis will bring shed lizard skin or broken wings/feathers/etc to nanetta and she'll help him press them for scrapbooks. nadine has a whole row in a bookshelf filled with the twins' works.
they live in a shared house with their friends at the edge of town (the one by the ocean, where their shop is!) and they all work together to help raise nanetta and noreis and...take care of each other, too. all of them have some shared conflicts with family, but they find family in each other instead. with change, they can help, they can protect, and they can love...
then one day, during a festival of change, nadine saw a traveler a bit overwhelmed from the noise and crowd...
and that's where a new story began.

ROUND 2 INFORMATION
We've had a great first round, with a lot of strong contestants already being knocked out! This makes the second round even more exciting!
Round 2 will be posted between Monday, February 5th and Thursday, February 8th. It will be split between 4 sets, each set being posted on a different day. There will be a total of 64 participants (16 participants in each individual set) divided in 32 polls (8 polls in each individual set). By the end of Round 2, 32 participants will make it to Round 3 while the rest will be sent to the Shadow Realm where their souls will be tormented for eternity. All polls will be queued between 12 PM EST and 1 PM EST of the day it has been assigned. Each poll will last a week.
