So thrilled to have this done and up finally!
Full credit for the bottom section- pattern was made based off of this amazing art by @yuumei-art (one of my favorite artists- go check her out). And of course- had to include one of the cherry trees from the game, so did that as the top panel.
(more details/photos under the cut)
For those interested-
~ 130 hours of work (excluding the frame)
~200 pieces (when I finished the pattern it was 196 for both top and bottom, but when cutting glass both found a couple that skipped getting a number and some that needed to get broken up into two pieces)
Bit of a better view of the texture in the top panel
Details + bit better light to see the colors of the glass on the bottom
And one after we got it hung last night- still looks good in my opinion but can see just how much a difference even indirect light behind it makes.
Forgot this time of year the sun is blocked in the morning by the neighbors' so going to have to add more pics later with better light behind it- wanted to snag some photos before leaving this morning though.
Now just to make the other 4 that are going in this window... XD

A WINDOW TO THE HEART
Cookies with a “glass window” are pretty cool and you can achieve the effect in several different ways. A popular method uses isomalt, but many people dislike its taste and very harsh texture. Recently I saw bakers using a different approach, crushing mint candies and using the powder in the final stages of baking. I was intrigued and gave it a try. When I did it, the “glass” was not always…
