who's your favorite maraudeur character to write about?

who's the maraudeur you like reading about?

who's the maraudeur whose fanon characterization doesn't match your headcanon (stirring drama!!! :D )

answering this like 4 days late, because I’ve once again found my time monopolized by Baldur’s Gate (oops)

1. hmmmm I think of the marauders specifically, Sirius is my favourite to write. I love writing about him and his relationship to Regulus and how he views his brother (and vice versa), sibling relationships are some of the most interesting to me because they’re often so complicated and you can squeeze so many conflicting emotions into them. Also the whole family is so messed up and exploring his relationship to the rest of them is very good. (unspeakable3 does some very good sirius fics that I love, and they’re my number one author for the brothers, I was recently re-reading some of their sirius-centric fics so I’m in a bit of a black brothers mood at the moment)

2. All of them?????? How am I supposed to pick? Some of my favourite fics are of all four of them just exploring their friendship. Sirius for similar reasons as above, but also Remus. I think he’s such a complicated character and he made a lot of mistakes, especially after the first war, and I really like reading fics where authors explore his grief and the decisions he made because of them. (or fix-it fics, i do love a good fix it! I read one where Remus went and kidnapped Harry from Petunia when he was still a toddler and that was very very good).

3. I mean, I think this one heavily depends on what corners of fandom you’re inhabiting. I heavily curate my own experience so I don’t really interact with a whole lot of fics that have characterizations that I don’t like or people who talk about them much, and also I’m pretty flexible with my own headcanons so if something gets changed I’m not that thrown off. That being said — I’ve seen recently this shift with Remus and Sirius where their personalities seem swapped? and it’s very off putting to read Remus as this tall, buff, super competent casanova type, like i’m sorry that’s so wrong — he’s a wet, damp, chronically ill, closeted noodle of a man who made a lot of mistakes and that’s what makes him interesting. And in a similar fashion, this fanon view of Sirius as an irresponsible, impulsive godfather who puts Harry in danger is so weird. Like one of these two men ran away and ignored Harry for 12 years and it was not Sirius Black. I love Remus don’t get me wrong, but because he’s interesting, not because he’s perfect. Then also just like fandom’s way of boiling Peter down to a villain who betrayed his friends without a thought and acting like he was never really friends with the others in the first place is frustrating to me, or turning James into this always happy, sunshine character who doesn’t yell or get angry ever and erasing all of his mistakes and bad traits. Basically just whenever they get made into there perfect characters and have all their flaws taken away is when they don’t match my headcanons. But I have this handy red X button for when I stumble upon that kind of thing out in the wild lmao

i'll go with joel & kanz for this one bc they have a very big 'family' (its a cult, they are part of a cult). kanzy has a biological sister who's about 3-4 years younger than them?? but i believe the closest ages are lizzy and jolzy, they're like 22-25 i dont remember What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?

an time i hear the word 'mother' + 'oc' i think of stella. her relationship with her mother is literally so bad lmao What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?

ben: he's ridiculously self-sacrifical. he's always looking for validation and will give up his own comfort and sanity to appear 'perfect'. so he seems obnoxious & he also will shoulder every single bit of despair by himself

nyx: they just do whatever the fuck they want. like they disappeared for 3 years, didn't leave a note or anything, just said Fuck This Shit Im Out. they let their whole kingdom believe they were dead bc why would they deal with that shit when there are literally dragons. also they're irresponsible as hell

jol: he's a clown. also he's in a cult In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?

ben tries to make sure he's better than everyone so it's both If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others?

jol can't trust anyone outside of his gotdamn cult. kanz got out of the cult and decided to room with the first 3 people they found, so i guess they're pretty trusting... lyra i feel is pretty trusting as well. she doesn't have many friends, but the ones she does have are cool.

How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person?

im treating this as a 'there's a murder mystery, who figures out the killer first' question. nyx is probably the victim. lyra is coping with nyx's murder by writing a real life fanfic in the basement. stella's distraught as hell but she's leading the investigation & trying to make sure no one else gets hurt. ben is in his room crying. he is not involved in the murders because he is locked in his room lol. kanz suspects jol from the moment they find the body. the murderer is jol. he runs away to new york and saturn hunts him for sport How does your character behave around children?

ben does not have 'wants' he has a kingdom to rule. stella is beginning to realize she is deserving of cool shit. nyx thinks they are deserving of cool shit bc the shits cool. jol has no cool shit. kanz needs to earn their place. lyra doesnt think about that stuff. How easy or difficult is it for your character to say “I love you?” Can they say it without meaning it?

depends. jol can say 'i love you' to anyone because he was raised in Manipulation Central and they manipulate people. stella cannot say 'i love you' to your face but she will admit it while crying in nyx's arms. nyx doesn't say 'i love you' they let you cry about some hot girl in their arms. kanz can say i love you easily. ben does not say 'i love you' ever, except maybe to stella once. oh ben and stella are siblings btw What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?

stella: i am going 2 hell

lyra: death is terrifying to me. it doesn't matter where i go because the idea of being trapped somewhere for eternity is hell either way. i wont be able to control it. i'll leave my loved ones behind. i'll just waste away in a cage. if nothing happens after i die and i just cease to exist i'll be grateful

Hi, hope you’re ok! I’d be really grateful if you could help me out with my type, I question my own conclusions so much that it’s hard to actually get to a final one. Thanks!

⁃ I’m anxious (a 6 as well), so I like to know things in advance and to have things planned. I tend to worry a lot when I’m about to start something new, only to realize later that it wasn’t as bad as I expected.

⁃ I wouldn’t say that I’m irresponsible about money, but I kinda enjoy spending it with things that are “unnecessary” just for the sake of enjoying these small impulses.

⁃ I think it’s helpful to use past experiences and informations I’ve collected to guide myself through present (meanwhile, I can dream about the future). When I’m anxious, it helps me a lot when people give me real life examples to calm me down.

⁃ I can be pretty methodical. My routine doesn’t change much and I have my own way to get things done. I don’t mind changing methods if I find a way to make my work easier, though (if it gives me more free time to enjoy my life, I’m doing it).

⁃ I hold all of my favorite things close to heart. Things get in, but don’t usually get out (even if I “forget” about them, they’ll always be special).

⁃ Usually, I’m a pretty decisive person — easily figuring out if I like or dislike things/people. I only get indecisive when I start to see “signs” that make me doubt my judgements.

⁃ I tend to judge people just by my first impression of them, which can lead to a lot of misconceptions about that person’s true self.

⁃ When I’m at home, I’m expressive about my feelings and my family can read me like an open book (I also cry easily, it’s one of my ways to deal with things). When it comes to outsiders, though, they may have a harder time figuring out my real feelings for them. I’ve heard from people things like: “I can’t really say if you like me or not” or “Why are you with that face? Are you not having a good time?”. I’m not the friend who yells “I love you!” out of nowhere to others, I only do it with my closest friends and it takes time for me to open up that way, so my withdrawal personality may “push” people away. I’m extremely loyal to my friends, so I’ll be there for them no matter what, but sometimes people expect words instead of actions and I may fail to give them what they need in the moment they need it (I also don’t like to sound fake, so, it’s tough for both sides).

⁃ I can be straight to the point in communication when it comes to sharing my opinions. If I feel that you’re not doing a good thing, I’ll probably say something (especially if you’re a close relative, proximity makes me less afraid of conflict). However, I can be “so casually cruel in the name of being honest” that I end up hurting people (I usually realize my mistakes immediately and do whatever it’s in my power to fix it).

My guess is actually ISTJ but some of these are fairly vague or general so I'm not positive:

Methodical, decisive, enjoys real world examples to deal with anxiety, and tends to hold on to what they once loved even if it's no longer a current interest all fit well with high Si.

Dislike of sounding fake and preferring very direct communication with high Si points to high Te, and the discussion of being fairly withdrawn indicates introversion is more likely.

All types can be an enneagram 6 but it is very common with high Si types.

The things that don't entirely fit/aren't revealing: the part about first impressions seems like it might just be a personal thing as it doesn't really fit anything in my mind, and the part about small personal purchases for fun is just like, normal human behavior and I think most people who have the means do that.
